Good Value and Well Treated

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We cruised out of San Juan on Nov 22 and truly enjoyed the cruise. This was our 14th cruise and the 3rd with Celebrity. Embarkation was about as smooth as I have experienced and we were on the ship in 15 minutes with no hassles or problems. We sailed on the Summit approximately 6 years ago on exactly the same itinerary so knew what to expect. The ship had undergone a refurbishment since our ...

Celebrity Offers Great Food and Beverage

Celebrity consistently offers outstanding food in its main restaurants and specialty restaurants. We sailed on the Summit over the week of Thanksgiving. Celebrity recently renovated, upgraded and modernized the public areas on one of its older ships, the Summit. The addition of the outdoor movie theater and martini bar were great. I would encourage Celebrity to continue with the modernization and ...

Our first bad experience with Celebrity Cruises

We have taken this cruise on a number of prior occasions to celebrate my wife's birthday and have usually been pleased with the experience. Yes, the Summit is starting to show its age and lacks the glitz, the glamour, and the amenities of newer ships. We prefer to sail on smaller ships and are willing to accept the trade off. What concerned us on our recent sailing was not the age of the ship ...

My wife & I are in our late fifties. We have sailed 20 cruises on Norwegian , Royal Caribbean , Carnival & Celebrity. We did do Celebrity about 10 years ago. We thought we would try Celebrity again which is known for their excellent dinning experience. First , let me say staff & Captain Kate were the most friendly people I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. The entertainment was OK , but ...

Excellent cruise on the Summit again. Had previously travelled to Bermuda 2 years and came back after the refresh. Public areas look great - new furniture , carpet and always well maintained and spotless public areas. Sailed in Aqua class , did not see any changes in cabins. To address some reviews about rust - if we looked over the balcony at support poles or in corners outside yes there were ...

Special Ship & AWESOME CREW!

Everything about the Celebrity Summit is just GREAT. I acknowledge that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Solstice Class or the fun water slides etc (found on other lines). The ship gives you the feel of a traditional ocean liner. This was our 2nd time on Summit and we have one reserved to Bermuda in June 2017. We had Captain Kate McCue at the helm on this Southern Caribbean ...

I think priority should be given to passengers with connecting flights on disembarkation. Also I think that passengers should be allow to leave the ship with their passports when going ashore. It was a vacation cruise for me. I had to travel to San Juan to meet the ship. I was disappointed that I was unable to see more of Martinique. It was the island I was looking forward to visit. The ...

Didn't meet Celebrity's usual standards

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We were 2 couples traveling in two cabins. The embarkation and disembarkation were flawless. The ship and the cabin were physically tired. Our room was on deck 3. It was the last passenger cabin forward before the crews cabins. We could hear water dripping in the walls all night. One night I was awakened at 2:00 AM by a continuous drip of water on my head from the ceiling. I had to put a ...

My wife and I took a back to back trip on the Summit , ( Nov 5 - 19 ) . The trip was excellent, the crew was very good-- friendly, polite and helpful. Captain Kate was a hoot; very approachable, personable, professional and had an excellent personality. We stayed in suite 6130. The butler was there when we needed him and invisible when we did not. Had diner of the balcony one evening on short ...

We were an extended family with five cabins and ranging in ages from 23 months to retirement age. The Summit was well maintained and the décor was beautiful - understated elegance without snobbery. We were not bombarded with upselling which was very appreciated. The captain was very visible and accessible. We had a lot of OBC and therefore booked our excursions through Celebrity. They were ...
