Great repo cruise with less desirable ports

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We wanted a cruise with a lot of sea days, at about this time. The ship and crew were wonderful as always. The ship is in good shape. The decor is dated, but not at all worn. The crew is amazing as always. The cabin was great. A concierge cabin on deck 6 in the suite area, it had a larger than usual balcony and a great stateroom attendant. I would recommend it. We particularly liked ...

First cruise

Our ship was the Celebrity Summit, maximum guest capacity = just over 2000 guests, I think there were actually 1700 on board. Our first ever cruise, so lots of “what if’s” to think about. Lots of feedback, hopefully to help other first-timers. Check-in was specified as being available from 1030 hrs – but on subsequent arrival on board, we were advised that rooms would not be available until ...

I was ready for some down time but a bit concerned about cruising solo. Although I've traveled to various places around the globe on my own, being on a ship full of people who are traveling together felt somewhat daunting. Add to that a not very happy experience on another cruise line two decades ago and I was a bit concerned about whether I'd just go bonkers on a cruise, but had been thinking ...

Embarkation was smooth and early. Staff were terrific and led by Capt Kate who is fantastic.Ship was clean and well-run. Shipboard staff were friendly and helpful. Entertainment was very good - better than we've had on the Reflection and Solstice this year. Dining was good - were seated at a wonderful table of folks and our service was impeccable. Cabin steward was great and very responsive to ...

Three days at sea. Two days in port. Dock in San Juan and fly home. This was a re-positioning cruise; Celebrity wanted to move the Summit from Cape Liberty, NJ to its home port in Puerto Rico. My wife and I hadn't sailed Celebrity in 9-10 years, and I was anxious to see if it was as good as I remember. It did not disappoint. My fondest memory was the food quality, and the Summit was excellent. ...

So we were on the back to back cruise from Bayonne down to San Juan and then down to Caribbean for the next 7 days. Boarding process was simple and quick and we were on board by 11:00. The ship itself is a pleasure to be on board. There are signs of age from the ship but nothing that would put me off returning to the ship. Pros - Both the Oceanview Cafe and Main Dining Room offer amazing ...

Pros and Cons of our New England/Canadian Cruise

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Celebrity Summit

STATEROOM ~ First of all, our room ~ # 7080 with balcony ~ was conveniently located near the midship elevators but with no accompanying noise from them. Our balcony was unusual in that it was twice as large as most and in a triangular shape. It could have accommodated 2 reclining chaise lounges but it just had the usual 2 chairs and small round table. Our room was quiet which we like as we are ...

Great ship, great ports

We've always wanted to do the New England/Canada cruise. We've done two 7 days cruises before and thought the 14 day cruise would be a great experience. We almost missed the cruise because our plane was delayed out of Nashville and we missed our connection in Charlotte, but we arrived two hours before the ship sailed. Embarkation could not have been better, because everyone else was on the ...

The price was right, as were the Itinerary and time of year of the cruise. We were very pleased with the cruise experience and the ports of call. This was our first cruise on Celebrity (have been on Azamara twice). We found the service on Celebrity to be outstanding. We are used to more inclusive cruises so the only drawback was being bugged for photos and a couple other things. Our room was a bit ...

Overview: After over 20 cruises, we congratulate Celebrity staff and crew on continuing to provide quality service. Perfect weather in most towns en route and amazing fall foliage colors helped us enjoy six fascinating ports in New England and Canada. Embarkation: Newark is a 3 hour flight from our home town. We flew up the night before. Embassy Suites provided a free shuttle from the ...
