Now that we are both retired, my wife and I have resumed cruising and as part of that we decided to try a few more of the main-stream lines we had not sailed before. We prefer small to medium size ships (about 100,000 GT or less with under 2,000 passengers) and have no interest in megaships. Summit was right on the upper limit of our preferred ship size and passenger capacity.
We found a nice ...
We chose this ship for 2 reasons. One was because it was our first Celebrity cruise and two, we wanted to visit Key West.
I kept hearing great things about Celebrity, so I figured to give it a try. We’ve been on many different lines, so we had a lot to compare certain things to.
The not so good…
First thing to say is the ship is old and is in need of some attention in many places. Rust is ...
Flew into FLL and took an Uber to the Mandarin Oriental and had a perfect one-night pre-cruise stay with a fabulous meal outside at Rusty Pelican. Easy Uber ride to the port around 1230pm with no lines whatsoever. I was booked in an Aqua Sky Suite that I got a decent deal on and was very excited about the giant balcony. I filled out a pre-cruise request for some various fitness items which never ...
This was my family's 15th Cruise with Celebrity and the only one we were dissatisfied with. We love Celebrity and usually can't say enough wonderful things about them. We were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary so we were disappointed when things weren't as expected.
What stood out the most was the lack of comradery with the crew. Everyone seemed angry and ...
This was our sixth cruise and after reading the celebrity board and reading all of the cheerleaders' reviews we were very excited to try celebrity and especially the summit. People raved about the food, service, and ship. They said it was the best of the fleet. Well, if that is their best they are in serious trouble.
The staff was very friendly, but they must be stretched very thin. It was ...
First time Celebrity cruisers (we have traveled 5 times on Disney and 1 on Viking Ocean). This has always been an itinerary we have been interested in and it did not disappoint. It's very much and adult and upscale feel in the rooms and public areas - understated and nice. We have always thought that this would be an adult offering with great food that would really mesh with our tastes ...
Cabin, Concierge Class- the shower floor does slope properly and never fully drains- ship was refurbished 2019 - hard to believe this has not been corrected;
destinations great but too little time in St John NB and Halifax- remove a stop and more overnights needed or later a.m arrival and evening departures; tendering process in Rockland Maine inexcusable with only 3 tender boats operating - ...
I deal itinerary for four couples escaping the lingering summer heat in Texas joining friends who live in Boston. We've sailed Celebrity before and always enjoyed it.
We've been cruising for over 40 years and have sailed most of the major lines and some of the luxury brands like Crystal and Silver Seas. Over these decades there have been many changes including mostly those reflecting more of ...
We've cruised before numerous times with Celebrity and have been on Summit before. It's really gone downhill. The ship is old and tired, there is rust everywhere, many of the areas need repair and repainting. All the niceties for a premium cruise are gone. Batheoom and Spa changing amenities are just basic now. No cotton buds, cotton wool, body lotion etc. Hard selling on the first day was ...
We have been cruising with Celebrity for many years and finally had the opportunity to travel on a much-anticipated New England/Canada fall cruise this year. We loved the itinerary and lucked out in picking a date which avoided two hurricanes, one which affected the cruise right before ours and one which might disrupt the cruise following ours. We were so fortunate and had great weather ...
