The ship itself could use some freshening, but the major problems were with getting on and getting off the ship. The embarkation process in Venice was terrible. The terminal was over a mile from the luggage collection site with no shuttle and in 90 degree heat. Once you got to the terminal there was an hour long line. Similarly, in Kotor and Santorini the process of getting off the ship onto ...
First off, 5* for Sunny our cabin steward. Amazing service and tons of smiles. The hostess and team at Le Bristo gave best experience I have ever had on a cruise ship. Best food and presentation. Aqua needs an overhaul. The front hostess needs a raise and and someone to clean her glasses from spit due to all the complaints and yelling she had to endure. We watched the team their look at tables ...
We booked this ship 11 months before departure to guarantee a place as it was suitable for children with an outside children's pool and slides in the main pool. However, NCL removed these early in 2018 and notified us before departure by email after we had paid the final balance. We made a complaint but NCL offered no compensation. For this reason we probably will never cruise with NCL again as ...
Embarkation at Venice is always inexplicably chaotic. Hundreds of people were left queueing to drop off luggage with no shade from the intense heat. Once into the check-in area, things improved and moved fairly swiftly.
The itinerary never fails to disappoint: Venice, Kotor, Corfu, Santotini, Mykonos & Dubrovnik are all stunning.
What absolutely ruined cruise was the fact that there was ...
We traveled with 32 total friends and family. By family my husband and I brought our 2 sons, 23 and 19 yrs old. The total trip cost our family approximately $20,000. The cost per person on NCL was very reasonable, it was the other costs that really added up for a family of 4 from the US to get to Italy and stay in Italy the night before and after the cruise.
This time of year it is 95 ...
7 Day Greek Islands from Venice. Embarkation was easy, but it was quite a walk from the public people mover. Our room steward was fantastic. Greeting us by name as we arrived to our room. Entertainment was excellent as well as the variety. The Cruise Director was only seen at evening events, which was odd. Food was great. Specialty restaurants were always full so we didn't get a chance to ...
Chose this cruise from Venice because of the ports of call. The tendor system is a joke. Queued up twice for tendor tickets, only to be so far down the line had to waste two and a half hours to get off the ship at Santorini. Not long enough in the ports for you to thoroughly enjoy. I am intolerant to many foods and tried to contact NCL before hand for special items, is oat milk, and gluten and ...
I want to write something about the cruise, ship and especially the packages, other first timers can take advance of.
We came day before the cruise to the sunny Venice. Alilaguna boat busses are convenient way to get from the airport to the city, even with some big cases. Orange line got us to out hotel near Saint Mark’s square. It took an over hour, but we were able to see some nice bridges ...
We chose this cruise for the starting point in Venice and the ports along the way. We enjoyed a couple days in Venice seeing the sights. It was smart that we planned that time because one suitcase did not make it and thankfully was delivered to our hotel the afternoon before the cruise. The Star was recently refurbished and looked great, saw no signs of wear and tear. Cabin with balcony was a ...
Chose this cruise for an extended family vacation- 12 of us in total. Tough to find a date and itinerary that worked for everyone. This one fit the bill- in theory. On paper the itinerary sounds great- Kotor, Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos, and Dubrovnik. The reality is much different. Odd times in port and too many tenders, and NCL sucks at their tenders. Often we had only hours in a port. Santorini ...
