The ship itself could use some freshening, but the major problems were with getting on and getting off the ship. The embarkation process in Venice was terrible. We booked this ship 11 months before departure to guarantee a place as it was suitable for children with an outside children's pool and slides in the main pool. Embarkation at Venice is always inexplicably chaotic. Hundreds of people were left queueing to drop off luggage with no shade from the intense heat. Once into the check-in area, things improved and moved fairly swiftly.
