First trip on NCL, and our family of 7 (teen to seniors) had a great time. Ship was clean, steward was excellent, drinks very good. I was afraid I had made a mistake booking this ship after seeing a number of poor reviews for Oct-Nov of 2015, mostly on the long boarding/disembarking process and over-run bars with very long waits. But perhaps NCL read them too -- no long drink waits, and we had an ...
Here is our evaluation of the cruise:
Great entertainment-very high energy and diverse acts
Food- pretty darn good in the dining rooms. While the food was ok in the Market Café, the ambiance was not good; very institutional like. In fact, no atmosphere. So, for that I could not give 5 circle rating.
The Sangria was excellent as well was all the drinks (had the Unlimited Beverage ...
Just arrive back to Tampa today. My wife and I (early 50's) have traveled a lot over the years, we have cruised only 4 or 5 times. We live in the Tampa Bay area. We absolutely loved everything about this cruise. Great service, great shows, clean & comfortable room, wonderful restaurants (all the specialty restaurants deserve 5 stars). The star is an older ship but well maintained. Easy check-in, ...
We sailed on NCL Star for the Christmas sailing 12/20-12/27, 2015
Embarkation
This was not a good experience. We had an 11:30 AM arrival time. When we arrived at the port building for check in, there were lines with hundreds waiting. No one said why or provided directions. When we finally reached the front of the line, there were three men manually checking boarding documents and passports. ...
I can not say enough good things about this cruise. There were 6 of us traveling - from the ages of 11 to 76 and we all loved it. We arrived at the port at 1:00 and were on the ship in less than 30 mins. The first thing we noticed was the size of the rooms. We had an inside room and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and bathroom. It was larger than a lot of the other inside rooms ...
We just came back from our cruise on the NCL Star. I would definitely recommend this cruise - we were recovering from health issues (both myself and husband) so we didn't take any excursions and needed to rest. This was my 5th cruise and I was very impressed with both getting on and off the ship - it is very organized!
The last night show was as good as you see in Las Vegas. Every meal was ...
My priorities: Thank you all ship crew. The engineers "screwsmen" for the mechanical challanged "Star" (propulsion) being repaired for my trip. This enabled the ship to reach all port on schedule for the week. Plumbers still have work in public bathrooms. Maybe caused by free drinks, amateur drinking or maybe mechanical. Stateroom shower had uncontrollable pulsating temperature variations. ...
Loved the first experience worth it to upgrade for the penthouse suite. Gave great priority access for embankment, ports and disembarkment. Didn't have to worry about getting to tenders or off ship in time for excursions. Enjoyed room service, afternoon treats delivered to our room and the speciality dining. Our Butler Roy and Concierge Cristropher went above to make it a memorable event. We ...
We are heavy Ceaser's Entertainment users, so 5 of us cruised for free (2 rooms). We gave cruised Norwegian many times, most recently back-to-back cruises out of Venice. The only downside to that cruise set was the food quality. We went again hoping that was just a fluke.
This cruise out of Tampa started ok. The check in process is still awkward and tedious but it went fine.
The staterooms ...
Received a great deal for a two bedroom suite, third and fourth person free, specialty dining for all, adult beverage package, shore excursion credit. Suite came with a butler, who delivered canapés every afternoon. While the suite was roomy, with a separate entrance for the extra bedroom, there was not very much attention to detail with the housekeeping. Only of those magazine subscriptions ...
