This was part of our Bucket List, we also did the Rocky Mountaineer and spent time in Vancouver and Toronto.
We are seasoned cruisers and tend to pick a trip for the itinerary rather than the cruise line. This was our second Celebrity cruise having been on Eclipse in the Baltic.
The boarding was fairly straight forward even if it did take a while because you have to go through the US ...
We joined the cruise in Vancouver having spend 3 nights there before departure.
Being the first cruise we had ever been on we was disappointed at the length of time we had to queue to complete the check in, which in total was over 2 hours. This could easily be speeded up by giving guests a check in slot. This was a painfully slow start to the cruise.
We had chosen celebrity select dining ...
Celebrity had been recommended by friends who had cruised in the Medeterranean.
Particularly recommended the meals.
We wereI was very disappointed in our dinning experience.
The food in the Trellis restaurant was poor,as other UK cruiser ,said like school lunches. Is the only way Celebrity can serve mash potato ,by pacing dollops on the plate served with an ice cream scoop, baked Alaska ...
...at least if you look at the level of service!
Need to say that we were first-time cuisers, and after this experience will go again on a cruise and again will choose Celebrity.
Also must say that we had a Celebrity suite which goes along with several advantages such as the private Luminae restaurant or the Michaels club.
First of all and most impressing I must point out the excellent ...
I was hoping for a cruise a little more luxurious than others i have taken. Sadly there were huge problems. Naturally taking out the wharf in alaska and causing 3 million dollars damage was a notable detraction but there were more serious personal problems with the accommodation and staff.
The staff other than the cabin stewards seemed distant and uninterested until we cast a few 20's ...
It took over three hours for us to board the ship from the time we arrived at the port. Not a good start. Most of the delay was caused by the Celebrity checking in system and this was then exacerbated by the US Homeland Security.
The journey through the Inside Passage which is one of the feature of the cruise took part at night. A morning sailing would have been more appropriate for ...
This cruise was part of a package with a tour of the Rockies, we have been on 4 cruises prior but none with Celebrity. I will NEVER cruise with them again as the whole experience was very under whelming. For a company that has been operating as long as them they should have perfected so much more.
The first thing that I complain about is the ridiculously long waiting period for embarkation ...
This was the second stage of our B2B cruises of the Pacific coast and Alaska. This was a bit of a disappointment bearing in mind we were now in the Royal Suite as oppose to the Concierge class we had in the first stage. First of all embarkation was a farce. We left the ship early and when we got our new passes we were told to got to desk 7 & 8 at US Immigration to avoid the queues. When we got ...
We have always wanted to do a cruise to Alaska and to combine this with a trip on Rocky Mountaineer. At last we have done this great trip.
We booked through Iglu Cruises who arranged everything perfectly.
Our first night was at Pan Pacific Hotel which is right above the Cruise Terminal. Our luggage was collected from our room and we did not see it again until we were in our cabin.
A lift ...
We chose this cruise to replicate a cruise we did in 2008 which included Alaska. This time we did B2B with the Alaska cruise. The ship was a nice size but was showing some signs of its age. Embarkation at San Diego was very fast and efficient. The cabin was good if a little bit small and the room attendants were very good and friendly. Food on board was good but often Luke warm. Food in the Ocean ...
