Just got back from a 7 night Adventure of the Seas cruise. In general it was very good. Not perfect but very good. The ports were all very different and fun in their own way. Casey Pelton the cruise director was really good and for the most part the staff was friendly and professional. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. Were on the ship by about noon. Adventure of the Seas just went through a make over and in general was in great shape. The middle area with shops and bars was a lot of fun. We hung a lot at the Schooner Bar which had live music and good drinks. Met a bunch of fun people there. Had a Balcony Stateroom. Our attendant Maureen was very nice and did a good job keeping the room clean. Bathroom is tiny, but functional. Bed was so so and pillows were not great. But after spending all day in the Sun, did not care too much. Took two snorkeling excursions. The first in St Thomas was good. Wish we had a little more time to spend there. The Fan-Ta-Sea to Nevis with Snorkel in St Kitts was not just good, it was the best. Captain Al, and his mates made this the highlight of the week. 6 hours of snorkeling, sitting on a great beach, and drinking rum punch made this so much fun. Stopped at the Sunshine Bar on Nevis and had the famous Killer Bee drink. Only 26 people on the excursion and it was a giant party. So much fun! Ship entertainment was good except the illusionist guy was terrible. Frankly it was just weird. But the Comedians were good. On board activities were all fun and done well. Activities on the ship were all done very well. Belly Flop competition was a lot of fun to watch. Trivia at the Schooner Bar was a lot of fun. Lots of fun people there so we hung out there a lot at night. Pools were great. Always found a deck chair. Spa / Gym were nice. Food was just Ok. First night we went to the dining room on my time dining. Just ok. Nothing special. Ate either at the Windjammer or out on the islands for everything else. Windjammer was ok. But after a week, we were pretty tired of it. Did spend a special anniversary dinner at Giovannis. Singh our waiter was incredible. Food was very very good. Similar to what I remember the Dining room food being back in the day. RCI is steering everyone to the speciality restaurants. In a way, I get it, and in a way I don't. And believe me, they sell these options every chance they get. Sailing out of San Juan added an extra element to the cruise. Lots of people from PR. But for the most part, everyone was really cool and nice. Would recommend a night before and after in San Juan. Great city! All in all, I would say that RCI is a good deal. Don't expect perfection, but this was a fun week that we would do again. Read Less

Any dissapointing I will say photos I think you leave great photos there but you can't buy it all at $20.00 too expensives I think there is space to improve. Anyway if after the trip you want to do it again mean it was really good, looking toward forward for our next cruise will be a Royal. Read Less

Positives Had not been to the ABC islands and wanted to visit gorgeous islands. The staff was outstanding no matter where we went every one wanted to offer assistance. The ice show was awesome and the ship was very clean and food extremely good. Comedians were ok and hypnotist we left the show. The on board entertainment dancers outstanding just not enough of it. Great music from the different bands all over the ship. The lava drink that a bartender introduced us to was killer. When we were packing up the last night discovered my luggage had a rubber foot busted off of it sometime during the travel from hoe till it arrived on the ship. It had 2 very sharp screws sticking out that would hurt someone, called maintenance and they were there in 5 minutes and removed the screws. As I said the staff aboard was awesome. Negatives Very disappointed that we could not combine the 4 restaurant purchase as we had on our last 3 cruises, for my wife and I to eat in 2 restaurants using 2 tickets each time of the 4, not sure why, they are selling 4 meals it should not matter if one person eats 4 meals of if a family of 4 eat one meal it is still only 4 meals. Seems as if Royal getting greedy? For someone that saves a whole year for the cruise it gets expensive when they start making you double up, needless to say we didn't eat in the specialty restaurants as we usually do for our anniversary very disappointed. I am diabetic and had a medical cooler that went bad and they did not have another one on board so had to have stateroom attendant bring us ice and had to keep insulin on ice for 4 of the 7 days, strange that a ship this size does not carry extras especially since we made it known from the time we booked that I would need one. The only other negative was they separated my wife and I when we were getting off the ship as they only had one wheel chair and we need wheelchairs to go long distance or if lines are long as I can not stand upright for long periods of time. I was first off and panicked at customs as our customs declarations was for 2 people, they would not allow me to wait for my wife as I was passed the customs line, so when she got to customs they made her fill out a separate form which the great customs people helped her to do. Would we cruise with royal again yes we have already booked for next year but we are going to make sure these issues are resolved first. Read Less

My DH and I chose this cruise for several reasons one I am from the Bahamas and was very interested in seeing the rest of the Caribbean. Two I was excited that there were so many ports visited on this itinerary. I have been as far south as Trinidad and Tobago but had never had an opportunity to visit the rest of the West Indies. First things first I found both embarkation and disembarkation to go very smooth. A few hints if you are interested in purchasing alcohol do so before embarkation onto the ship. There are several brands that cannot be purchased in the United States which means if you are waiting until you get back to Puerto Rico you may miss out. Also during disembarkation just pay for the porters they will help you track down your luggage and fast track you through customs. We paid $10 and were out of the area in less than 10 minutes. The Ship Review - I really enjoyed the ships size and maneuverability, you can get almost anywhere with a brisk walk if the elevators are busy. The ship is very nice considering its age but there are some areas of note where housekeeping could be better out by the Solarium pool could be cleaner and all of the ladies restrooms should be maintained better. Other than that I thought it was a pretty ship with a good layout and traffic flow. I never felt cramped or crowded. Cabin - I know that the ship has been renovated and most areas look really nice. But the rooms have not been updated and that is just a fact. I think the carpet was new because it looked new and didn't have any odor. My room was a balcony on the six floor. For two of us the room was spacious and we were able to put everything away nice and tidy. Also there is plenty of closet space for all you clothes. We had a really large suitcase that fit under the bed no problem. Our cabin was mostly clean, the bathroom shower stall needed a good scrubbing in my opinion as I was able to wipe some mildew off the shower door with a facecloth. Also the fridge was not cleaned out prior to our arrival. I should have mentioned it to our room steward but I was caught in the day’s activities and failed to do so. The bed to me was very firm but after the second night it didn't matter since I like sleeping on boats. Dining - The Food on this ship was just bad. I hate to say it but it was awful sometimes. The main dining room was very hit or miss on most nights. I ordered a medium steak I received a well done steak. The escargot came out either cold or overcooked. Out of seven nights it was really good just once. And to all the squid that gave their lives for the Calamari served in the Windjammer I am so sorry - you deserved better. The Lamb Shank was good, surprisingly I was worried about eating it but it turned out well. The Windjammer is good at breakfast with omelets only overcooked a little and the bacon not cooked enough. But there is lots of cereal and baked good that were all over baked and therefore dry. My DH asked me if I thought they over cooked everything for fear of people getting sick. There were lots of fresh fruits available at the Windjammer. The Cafe Promenade had good fare almost every day and so did Johnny Rockets. Entertainment - The Entertainment was Excellent I went to see the Ice Show, the Comedian and the Magician all outstanding. Casey and Eric do a great job keeping this very diverse group of passengers entertained. I don't think either of them sleep. I am not sure if Royal Caribbean reads these posts but I would like to say that this cruise had so many people from the Caribbean on it that I think some Soca Nights and in order. Service - The service was excellent - everywhere there were smiling faces and helpful people. Ports and Excursions - Yes it is true that we did not know about the change from St. Lucia until we checked in at the pier, but I am going to say that Martinique is one of the most beautiful islands I have ever seen. I am not going to review the other ports because they have been reviewed extensively. But Martinique was like nothing else for me. I grew up on some of the most beautiful islands and beaches in the world but my goodness this was an experience like no other. We took the the Karambole Tour, which we booked upon embarkation thank goodness for the internet on the ship. Martinique is clean, historic, with mountains, rain forests and beautiful towns and beaches. Let’s be clear it is very French and I am not sure how many people speak English but this island should be on everyone's radar, I am definitely going back for a week or two. Notes: I would definitely do this cruise again out of San Juan - a few changes I arrived in San Juan on Friday, I should have arrived on Thursday evening because there is so much to do and see in Old San Juan. Check your cell service provider because there are many points throughout where we had service in San Juan and beyond. I stayed at the Caribe Hilton it was very nice but maybe a small hotel inside Old San Juan would be nice as well. Read Less

I chose this cruise to do some diving at the different islands. The only on offered through the ship was St. Maartin, so I booked the rest by myself. Made suggestion about having more diving activities on this cruise. Hopefully, they will ad more dives in the future. Overall, the ship is beautiful. The staff was excellent and my room attandant, Matthew, was outstanding. The activites were varied to suit all ages. I even tried the FlowRider - loads of fun - both the body board and stand up surfing. There was enough time each day to take in some of the local culture each day. 8 am - 4:30 pm. Would definitely recommend this cruise for its variety. The only reason I gave it a 4, was because of the lack of diving activities and the downside - you had to pay for most classes in the gym. Otherwise, it would have been a 5. Read Less

We like vacation better than work & cruising is the best way to maximize our vacation time. This is our fourth cruise & we like Royal Caribbean. For those of you that are coupon cutter like us, This was the first time we paid for the dinner package & it was worth it. It was fine dining at a majorly reduced price. We always get an inside cabin because we are only in it to sleep & shower in it. ( if we want to see the ocean we can get out of the room & do something. We enjoyed the all the islands. At St. Maarten we did the Anguilla dolphin encounter and beach you need sunscreen & ship towel & you can't use your own camera. The dolphin encounter was good but we wished we would had paid the extra $40. Per person to swim with the dolphins. St. Kitts & Nevis we did the Caribbean scenic rail & sail. The rail was a little longer than I liked but gave a good feel of the island history & rum punch all around "yum". A/C cabins below the open air shaded cars. The catamaran sail was great again rum punch, sodas & snacks provided. The crew was awesome. You need sunscreen, sunglasses & camera. Afterward in Basseterre we did a little shopping & got some great deals on ball caps & tee shirts. Best for souvenirs. Antigua we wanted a littl adventure so the Canopy tour was next. Lots of zip lines really good staff. You need closed toe shoes that won't fall off, wear you hair up & you can use a GoPro type camera if you can mount it to a helmet. St. Lucia was canceled for dredging out the port. So they took us to Martinique & we did a self tour. Turned out to be great day. We toured the active French fort St Louis but the real find was the beach below the fort. It was shallow, refreshing & sea glass in the sand with a fresh water shower to rinse off. Last stop Bridgetown, Barbados the excursion the Best of Barbados. So history & orchids. I was a few months late for the full bloom of the green houses but still beautiful. Read Less

My wife and I wanted to try the Southern Caribbean islands and have been faithful to RC so this ship appeared to be a natural fit. Overall, the level of service on this ship was second to none. Food was great. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. We only had one issue, and it had nothing to do with the ship itself, rather the other passengers. Every morning, groups would reserve seats by the pool by laying their ship towels across 3, 4, 5+ chairs for their family to "reserve" for the whole day. I saw seats sit empty for hours with only a towel and a book from the library or another small item to keep them "reserved". Came across a family leaving their 4 chairs for lunch, but they kept their ship issued towels laying on all 4 seats saying we could not use them since they "would be right back". 2 hours later, the chairs still sat empty with towels in place. RC does everything great, with the exception of monitoring the pool deck for chair abuse! There are signs up asking people to not do this, but of course nothing is enforced. Ok, moving on from that rant...although this ship is over 16 years old, the common spaces are kept clean and updated. You can tell some of the staterooms need paint jobs on the balcony and that the carpet is a bit worn, but this is NOT a dirty ship! I would not hesitate to get back on board again, the RC service level I have come to expect is definitely met here! Read Less

I chose the cruise because of the ports. These ports I have never been to and wanted to experience the ABC islands. The ship was a little smaller than I thought. It was hard to get a lounge chair when at sea because people was leaving their things and taking up all of the chairs even in the solarium it was not enough seating. The service was good but the food could have been better. I have been on some of their other ships and the food and presentations of the food was better. At breakfast and lunch they were always running out of silverware. Staff and crew very friendly. One thing I did notice was they really kept the ship clean except for the bathroom by the pool area sometimes not as clean and some bathrooms were broke for the number of women and children needing to use them.As I said early the ports were great. My biggest problem was after leaving the ship we waited for a least 30 minutes before our bags got to the airport and than had to wait another 15 minutes because our bags were the first ones on the truck that brought them to the airport and they were the last ones off. Need a better system. Read Less

We enjoyed our cruise very much. Our cabin steward was the best we have ever had on a cruise. This was our eighth cruise. She brought us extra pillows and a topper for our mattress. Our bed was on the hard side for the mattress. She gave us extra soap and tissues. Our safe didn't work and she had someone up to fix it within minutes. The ship had been refurbished we were told. But our room was not. What we noticed new were the slides and most outer areas seemed refreshed. New carpeting and paint. Rooms need some attention. The buffet in the Windjammer was so so. It could be better. The dining room food was mostly good. Some of the fish dishes were not so good. Not much beef offered. Maybe trying to get you to go to the Chop house for dinner. Waiters were excellent. Entertainment shows were mostly good. Tours at our stops in Bonaire, Curaçao, and Aruba were good. Did tours of the islands. Flying is the biggest hassle and the San Juan airport was crazy busy coming home. Glad we had extra time to catch our flight coming home. On the ship some of the scheduled shows were hard to catch. Missed most of the ice show since it was only on two days. Tried the last show and we got out from dinner late. Saw about 10 minutes of the show. We like to play bingo but it was so unorganized and very expensive to play. Would not play on future cruises. Do not like how they nickel and dime you for everything. Always trying to get you to buy a drink even after you say no thanks. But overal we did have a good time. The staff was very friendly and helpful and that's a big plus in our book. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the Southern Caribbean itinerary. We had never visited the ABC islands and were not disappointed. We enjoyed visiting and learning about the ABC islands. Our stateroom was a Junior Suite - Stateroom 9330 - mid ship and conveniently located near the elevators. **If you stayed in Stateroom 9330 the week of April 29, 2017, and left a bracelet, please contact Royal Caribbean; we left the bracelet with at the front desk of the Adventure of the Seas. We reserved the Chef's Table on Day 3 ... what a fabulous experience! Our table mates were excellent as were the food and service! The shows were a huge improvement over the entertainment on our last cruise (Royal Caribbean 11 day Mediterranean in/out of Venice, Italy). All in all a good experience. The only downside was the constant selling of the specialty dining restaurants. I expect the hard sell on Day 1, but every day and every meal just gets annoying. Read Less

Our ship was the Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Sea. This is the second time we went on this ship. The reason we chose this ship both times was it's port of calls. The ship is very nice and the crew very friendly. This is an older ship but they have done many upgrades to the ship. We visited Bonaire and Curacoa for the first time. The other two islands St. Maarten and Aruba we have been to several times and we always enjoy coming back to visit them. Bonaire is under developed but is still nice to see. We rented golf carts and toured the island on our own. The people who rented the golf carts were very nice. Great way to see the island. Curacoa was a surprise. It was very nice and developed. The tour of the Curacoa distillery was nice and the beach day was fun. I wish we had more time to see the downtown area. Aruba is very nice. We've been here several times and always enjoy the island. Our excursion to see highlights of the island and Palm Beach was a lot of fun. The Kookoo Kanukoo bus tour was fantastic and our driver/tour guide was hilarious. He really made the tour an experience to remember. St. Maarten is one our favorite islands to visit. The people are friendly and the shopping area is very convenient with many stores to choose from. Excursions here are very good. Recommend Orient Beach Day excursion. My biggest complaint on this ship is the Casino. Smoking is allowed in the Casino which is not very big. We could not stay in the Casino because the smoke and the smell was sickening. I would recommend making it a non-smoking area. There are areas all ready on the ship for smokers. There shouldn't be any reason to allow it in the Casino. I wish Royal Caribbean would change this policy. It would benefit both the cruise line and it's customers. Read Less

I choose this cruise because we were part of a Private event. Salsa Sol y Arena. Itinerary was great, port of call great, great food, great staff and crew. Entertainment should be more diverse with different shows and cast. The activities inside the cruise ship were great. The Casino should be non-smoking or at least just 10% smoking. A lot of passengers complaint about how smoky was the whole casino and a lot of seniors can't enjoy to play until late because the smoke. The service was great. The cabin attendant was helpful and friendly. The ship it's absolutely beautiful after the remodeling. I love the Paris street inside of the ship. Decoration was excellent and the shops were very clean and with good deals. The shore excursions were expensive but the ports were excellent. We did our own tours in every port. The Dutch cheese in all the Dutch ports of call were an excellent price and the table cloths prices in St. Maarten were the best. I love Royal Caribbean but until they change the smoking policy on the casino, I would not going again in this ship. Read Less

This was our 12th cruise overall and the 2nd on RC and the first cruise traveling with friends. We have always enjoyed the Dutch Antilles islands for their diversity and "European" feel. The people are so friendly and diverse. Everyone you meet can speak 3-7 languages. On every island the taxi system is highly regulated, the prices are posted and adhered to for the most part so you know what you will be paying before you get in the car/van. We only got in one that was a little "worn out". It is refreshing to not feel like you are held hostage by a cabbie. Adventure of the Seas is scheduled for dry dock at the end of the year and it is showing some wear. You do have to look for it to see it, such as tile baseboards in the community restrooms are leaning against the wall. And they must not be replacing dinnerware as it is hard to get a plate that isn't scalding hot at the buffet which is nice for hot foods, disappointing to get a salad that hasn't wilted or cooked before you get to eat it. As a scuba diver (OWSI) of 17 years and approximately 1,000 dives, I know booking a dive through a cruise is going to be overly expensive and underwhelming as to the site selection and always crowded. This excursion went off as expected. Twenty-one people on a dive boat for 12, taken to a tired reef literally 100feet from the dive operator's dock and given a 1/4 of an apple for the snack. I understand the operators 8don't know what type of diver they will get but why not cap it, offer a second option for advanced divers and take us to a dive that will highlight their operation rather than leave a bad taste. Of the 21 divers there was a PADI Course Director, 3 Instructors, and 8 Divemasters- all of which the operator knew before picking us up at the dock. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the ports, the ABC's, we had never been to before. From the start everything went smoothly, the embarkation was fast and the staff was efficient and courteous. As we were checking in after 3 PM we kept our carry-on bags and went directly to our cabin. The cabin, 7296, was clean, though dated a little, and comfortable. I like that the cooler was empty and we could put our own things inside to keep cold. The ship has undergone a recent limited dry-dock and the public areas are fresh and updated, I understand the rest of the renovations will be completed in Jan. of 18. We found the ship to be fine in all things, one thing missing was the day placards in the elevators, but the daily compass has it listed. This was one of the best cruises for dining we have experienced: the food was very good and plentiful, our wait staff, Ryez (in his last contract before retirement) our waiter and Marie (in her first contract) our assistant waiter were OUTSTANDING, they were personable and genuinely cared about our dining experience. It was fun to see the experience and the desire to learn mixed together. Lest I forget our head waiter, sadly I do not remember his name but I will always remember his greeting: "Good evening lovely ladies and lucky gentlemen." He was the most attentive head waiter we have ever experienced and we looked forward to his visit every evening, we even were met with his greeting one morning at breakfast. The entertainment was not anything memorable, though we were entertained and had a good time at the shows. The headliners, 3 different comedians, seemed to be more interested in promoting their own wares and the "late night" shows than addressing the audience that was present. Our cabin steward, JerryLee was very good, she met us soon after we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. Her interaction throughout the week was warm and friendly and we enjoyed her smile daily. The bar service could use some improvement, there was great inconsistency in the mixing of the drinks, on some occasions the drinks did not seem to be what we ordered. We purchase the drink card on board and some would accept it and others would not, not really sure of what was going on with this. The ports were very good with plenty to do or just to walk about and see the sights. I will list them one by one: St. Maarten; we have been here several times but this was the first time to Maho beach to see the planes, seen it, done it, checked it off the list. Wasn't much excitement for us. Bonaire; Don't take the first tour offered, if you haven't scheduled an excursion with RC, shop around as there are many along the street that leads to town. Ask a lot of questions and right down the answers in case there is some discrepancy of what was promised and what was delivered. Aruba; We took a ride on the free trolley to see what was available and we were not disappointed, the assistant conductor told us of a beach only 2 blocks from the turnaround point that was very good for swimming with a restaurant/bar in the beach. The market was fun but be sure to check where the product was made and by all means don't pay the asking price. Curacao; We scheduled a private excursion that included fishing, snorkeling/swimming and a bar-b-que. The seas were too rough for fishing but we had a great time doing all of the other activities, Aldo and Kelly were great hosts. This cruise was with two other couples, one being on their first cruise, and we had a great time. The ABC's were everything we had hoped for, Royal Caribbean treated us very well and we all look forward to a future cruise together. We, my wife and I, stayed in Puerto Rico for 3 days post cruise and had a marvelous time exploring at a leisurely pace with plenty of time to experience the local culture and the historic sights. We would recommend time either before or after a cruise that sails out of San Juan. Read Less

We chose this cruise for its itinerary for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our travel agent added that we were celebrating our anniversary but evidently she was to tell them to add a special sign to our door to acknowledge this--she didn't, and RC didn't acknowledge our anniversary at all! So disappointing! We are SCUBA divers and wanted to dive the ABC islands. Maintenance was lacking on this ship. The overall cleanliness was good; however, there were a lot of fingerprints that seemed to slip the attention of the staff. There was a pipe leak in the hallway outside of our stateroom. The carpet was soaked. They ran fans to try to dry out the carpet but it smelled like wet, moldy carpet. It only got worse as the cruise went on. The port tours were good and we felt safe. I would've liked to stay in Aruba for a longer amount of time. I don't like that they stick a $7.95 surcharge when you order food from room service. It's like Royal Caribbean is just looking for something else to a la carte and pad the bill :( Read Less

We went on this cruise because of the itinerary. The ABC islands are the best of the southern islands. Nice beaches, many dive and snorkeling sites, wind surfing and clean. San Juan unfortunately is having some turmoil with their debt problems, high cost of living etc. Arrived the day before the cruise and there were demonstrations going on in Old San Juan. Decided not to go to old San juan like we did on previous visits. The cruise ship is old but well maintained. The entertainment is typical cruise line style of shows. NCL has lot better entertainment. The comedians they brought on were good except for the last one who was pushing an agenda. The adults only comedy show which i attended was nice because the comedian did not go into the sewer to try to be funny. He was a talented guy and did not have to drop F-bombs and get into body parts to try to get laughs. Make sure to go to the 70's party on the promenade deck. A lot of fun. Also do not miss the Quest if you want to have a lot of laughs. Sit close to the front if you want to participate. If you just want to sit and do nothing do not bother going. Food was great (last night was lobster and prime rib) and if you do not like something just ask for something else. . If you really like something ask for another plate of it. They want to make sure you are completely happy. Windjammer buffet had the usual stuff plus new selections of items every day so there was always something new to try. The only issue is that the beverage selection is now only water and lemonade that needs to be diluted at least 3 to 1. You can not serve yourself on the drinks they have attendants pre-filling the glasses. I would guess in a couple more years they will only give you water as they keep pushing for ways to charge you more for everything. Read Less

This was my first experience with Royal Caribbean. The ship is older and in need of some improvements/updating in the cabins and common areas. But, that did not affect our cruise. My husband and I had a great time. There were a few instances of rude bartenders. But, for the most part the service was excellent, especially in relation to my special dietary needs. The waiters and chefs went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and well fed (although the gf pizza should be avoided). The entertainment was good. The movies offered on board were fairly new releases. The activities offered were ok. There could have been more trivia games and cheaper bingo (I'm not about to pay those prices). But, for the most part, we kept ourselves entertained. We stopped in St. Maarten, Bonaire, Aruba, and Curacao; but did private excursions in all of the ports. So, I cannot rate the excursions offered by the ship. Overall, I would recommend this ship and itinerary for others. Read Less

We like the Adventure of the Seas. We have cruised this ship 6 times and love it. We loved our Grand Suite and the special treatment as Grand Suite occupants as well as Diamond Plus. The food was not as good as usual but service was actually better! The cruise was fantastic and our service in the dining room was fantastic. Merek, Lenny, and Levyton were fantastic and really took care of us. Merek and Lenny went out of their way to make sure there was no MSG in the food I was ordering. They both took special care of us wherever they saw us! We will miss this ship when it leaves Puerto Rico...as will the native Puerto Ricans I'm sure. But they will adopt a new ship I'm sure. Bonaire is not so great except for Divers. Aruba is always great! We LOVE Curacao! So a wonderful island. Of course St. Marteen is always good. Read Less

I choose this cruise because of the destinations. I did realized that it was an older ship at first and was a little skeptical. However, when I got on board I see that it was newly renovated. The only thing I didn't like was that my OceanView room was small for my wife and 2 young kids but but is perfect for just a couple. The ports were San Juan, St Maarten, Bonaire, Aruba and Curacao. I enjoyed all the ports except Bonaire, not much to do and the beach was shallow and full of coral. The food and service and service in the main dinning room was excellent. The menu differs was night and also offers a classic menu. If you are a steak lover the steak and seafood was good. Lunch in the Winjammer is good as well as breakfast. The overall experience was good and I would definitely recommend. Read Less

We chose this cruise based on the ports of call. The "ABC" islands - Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao were new to us. We took tours of the islands by open-air jeeps, open-air bus, and ATV's. They were all a great way to get a feel of the islands. We particularly enjoyed the Aruba tour, getting to see flamingos and the salt flats. Swimming with the dolphins on Anguilla (St. Maarten) was a lifelong dream. Due to the age of the ship, there were structural issues with our stateroom (leaks) leaving wet carpet and a musty odor. Our stateroom attendant and main dining staff were exceptional! As on all of our previous cruises, the food was excellent and we ate 'way more than we should have, but the food just kept arriving at our table! The Port Shopping Guides, Chris and Courtney were extremely helpful with their talks and information regarding how to get the best deals. Read Less

I choose this cruise for its sailing-program. Buffetfood was good, big selection. Restaurant dining didn't have much variety and there was no atmosphere. The shoppingstreet was great with a nice atmosphere. The ice-skating show was marvelous. There were enough stretchers for everone on the sailingdays. Disembarkation in ports was well organized, we didn't have to wait . Disembarkation in San Juan was disaster, long lines because of the US border control. The terminal itself was also very dissapointed, no facilities at all and very hot. Read Less

I booked this cruise with points that I saved on my rewards credit card. I chose this particular cruise because of the southern caribbean itinerary. A different port everyday and just one day at sea before we got back was perfect! The ship overall was in great shape - clean and new. Just a few blemishes in my cabin - we were on the 9th deck with a balcony. My only complaint was the bed which was extremely HARD, but our cabin steward, Milton, did his best to soften it. We chose the "my time" dining which worked out perfectly since it was just the two of us. We did not wait at all for dinner and had a private table 6 out of the 7 nights. We also purchased the beverage package since I don't want to have to worry about extra charges. The service was great and people on board were friendly and courteous. Read Less

Overall It was a very good cruise time. The only thing I would add is that Royal Caribbean do not frequently add value in its extra activities and charge too much. Why to pay a sightseeing tour for 60 USD per person when you can get exactly the same with more value for half the price. They try to sell you the idea of the security and the royal caribbean warranty but it does not worthy for the price they charge. The ship is great, the personnel is great, the service is magnificent. The interior cabin is extremely small, I strong recommend to spend more in a stateroom with a balcony. The other think I did not like is their system of the gratuities. I would prefer the charge the extra 18% of service at the price of the cruise because at the end they still charge you the total amount, because if you say that you dont want to pay that gratuities they say that is the salary of the people, if this is real they should reflect their total cost in the price. I chose this cruise for the southern carribean itinerary from san juan puerto rico. We decided to use the cruise line transportation system from airport to pier. We came in at 0930 a.m. and had to wait unitl 11:30 to be transported as they were awaiting other incoming flights; wish i would of known this in advance. Our embarkation was quick as we arrived at the ship at 12 noon. All personnel on the ship were professional; friendly and helpful. We have cruised many times before with royal but this was our first time on the adventure; last year we sailed the Allure, which i believed spoiled us; much better inclusive dining options; and entertainment. the adventure had minimal dining options; windjammer was cafeteria style with average food and selection; specifically focused on hispanic culture cusine; the sorento was a cafe type place that offered a bit to eat; but would definately not be considered a dining option for a meal. Diners at night were good. Entertainment was great some nights; other nights lacking creativity. The ports of southern carribean were beautiful; st. thomas, st. kitts, curacao and aruba; although a few of the stops were short visits and really didn;t allow more exploration before we had to get back on the boat. Overall a good cruise but again, spoiled by the larger ships and the offerings. Read Less
