This is our first cruise and we chose the Adventure of the Seas because it is close to home and we have always wanted to visit the ports that are visited by this cruise. We had a wonderful experience on this cruise with respect to their dining room services and their excellent foods. The dining room services are very good and its staff are very professional and attentive to our needs. Their cabin service personnel are also very friendly and efficient and provided excellent services. There are a variety of entertainment on board for various ages, and we really like their song and dance shows, their comedies, and its promenade. We found the cruise is well managed, planned, organized and executed. The embarkation and disembarkation process were very efficient and smooth. There were various off shore excursions available for the ports visited, but we didn't participate in these excursions, although we heard that they were excellent. Being independent minded, we did explore the cities on our own and found them to be interesting. The allowed times onshore were sufficient for visiting some of the interesting sites in these cities. We highly recommend this cruise, especially in the fall for the foliage. Read Less

My wife and I along with four friends and spouses went on the Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Sea New England/Canada seven day cruise. Our experience was great. Both the embarkment and disembarkment went extremely smooth. Our cabin was very satisfactory in size and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, to our surprise. Dining was great! Every meal was an experience in itself. Food was hot and delicious and more dessert selections than you can possibly enjoy even in 7 days. We enjoyed learning the history of each port and the shore excursions were will worth the money. Halifax Nova Scotia and Peggy's Cove may very well be the most interesting and neat place I have ever been to. The tour guide did a great job in telling us the history of Halifax and Peggy's Cove. Royal Caribbean definitely does it right and the dining staff and management take the time to constantly make sure you are happy throughout the cruise. Read Less

We have been on many cruises and this was our fourth family cruise. We have two grandchildren and they have cruised the Caribbean three times, we thought that it would be nice for them to have a new experience as well as see some of our great county. We are originally from the northeast and wanted them to see New York Harbor, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island , The Verrazano Bridge and the New York Skyline where we came to this country and we grew up. We flew in a day early and stayed in Newark, NJ and had what we call "New York Pizza". We took a Lyft to Port Liberty and had a smooth boarding process. We had a two bedroom grand suite in the rear of the ship for the six of us. Nothing super special but well laid out and very comfortable. Much larger then a standard balcony stateroom. Meals, Entertainment and service where top notch. We did not take any excursions but rather went out in our group of six. If the weather was not so cold it would have been A+ but with cold and rain I will say it was a B rating. In Halifax we went to the Citadel where everybody had a great time. Highly recommend it... On the ship the kids learned how to ice skate and enjoyed the activities and shows the ship had for them. I have tried to sail Canada twice and froze both times. I will think twice before I go again only because of the weather. Read Less

Adventure Of The Seas, is a beautiful ship. As residents of NY City, cruising from the NY/NJ area is very convinient to us. We have cruised other lines, but we love Royal Caribbean, therfore, Anthem of the Seas, is this ship we Cruise more. So when Royal Caribbean, brings over other ships we book them for variety. This time I loved the idea of cruising with Adventure again. Also the itinerary was very inciting for the change, and variety of ports of call. Embarkation and disembarkation is the easiest, simplest and fastest, that I ever experienced. I think Cape Liberty port, is the best port to sail from. We had a hump cabin, and enjoyed the balcony immensely, specially on days at sea when the Windjammer gets really busy. We picked up our food, and brought it to enjoy it in the balcony. The Cabin itself, was spacious and clean. Very comfortable. Entertainment, as always, Royal Caribbean did not disappoint us. A lot of fun on this ship. The cruise director and the RC entertainment staff were outstanding, not a dull moment onboard. We enjoyed a lot, the ice skating show, as well as the production, comedy and movies. Food overall is good. We have had better. Food in the Windjammer I found it very repetitive, meaning, almost every day the same thing for lunch and breakfast. The staff is outstanding, literally, everybody makes it, their business, to make sure you are happy. The Boomer part of it is, as a diamond plus member, the Diamond Club, is a very small area. It was always over crowded, it used to be that Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members had access to the suite Lounge. Not anymore, so the place feels very crowded and suffocating. We avoided it entirely but we couldn't help but feel kind of cheated. That is one of the highlights of our vacation. We counted Cruise point after cruise point until we reached this milestone, we want to enjoy the benefits... Read Less

A Friend found the trip and asked several people to go. There were 13 of us cruising together.. I thoroughly enjoyed the time cruising the North Atlantic and visiting the ports and shore excursions. I found the excursions fun and educational. The service and dining was excellent. The food for the most part was excellent. I can't say enough about all the ship's staff. They were always courteous and helpful..The entertainment was delightful and very entertaining. I found that the embarkation and disembarkation were extremely efficient and well organized..I would definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again. Although I would have preferred the weather to be a bit warmer so that I would have enjoyed the pools and hot tubs. Although the weather did not cause me to not go ashore and participate in the shore excursions. The only shore excursion that was cold and windy was the Marine Wildlife. We all had hopes of seeing whales and other marine wildlife. We did not see whales but we did see dolphins and otters. Read Less

We sailed on Adventure of the Seas, Royal Carribean. We had never been to Coco cay or Bahamas before. We were disappointed that still didn't see Coco cay due to weather. We had an ocean view balcony room . Room attendant does an excellent job keeping room clean and orderly. Cruise director Chris Brown and activities manager Magic Marvin were excellant. Provided plenty of activities and entertainment., always friendly and courteous and entertaining. Love the morning show. Had a great time at the 70s parade on the Promenade and the Caribbean dance party. The crew that assists with the activities are friendly and were a lot of fun. Love the game shows provided, especially Love and Marriage and The Quest. A lot of fun and laughter. So even though the weather was bad we had a great time.We went to Nassau, Bahamas and did the Discovery Atlantis tour. The tour was informative and loved seeing below the ocean, but don't think would of been enough time to do other activities even if we paid the extra fees. One day there is not enough time. Overall Royal Caribbean has a way of providing a great time even when ports are missed. We will always cruise Royal Carribean. Read Less

Well kept ship, very clean. Great entertainment options. The ice show should not be missed. Would have like to have seen a Broadway type musical but the singers and dancers put on 2 wonderful shows. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Late night food choices were limited; Pizza or cold sandwiches @ promenade cafe. The boarding process was simple and quick. Our room was ready and luggage was delivered quite quickly. Disembarking was impressive. We chose to self check out and carried our own luggage but even those who didnt take that route were able to exit just as quickly. I would definitely reccomend royal Caribbean. Great value for the cost. Shore excursions are a but pricy but I would still recommend booking with the ship as some folks had their jet ski activity cancelled due to rough waters and received a full refund. That's a plus as you never know the weather. Read Less

Waiter Birendra, assistant waiter Jay, and head waiter Noel were outstanding in their very accommodating service to our vegetarian eating style! The main dining room was our choice for dinner every night because of the excellent service provided. Nicholas was very kind in house keeping and went out of his way to make sure everything was just how we asked! Anytime I had asked for a picture to be taken the staff were always happy to snap family pictures and made sure we were happy with the picture before taking off to complete any duties assigned to. The pool or hot tub did give my child a rash all over that was said to be painful and irritating- still not sure if it was from the hot tub or pool but this stopped play time in the pool or hot tub the last two nights :(. Besides that I would have liked to arrive in Nassau earlier and have stayed overnight for no restrictions on returning times- there is so much to do and not enough time at this stop. The food was amazing in Windjammers but would have liked more vegetarian options. Also, the pool played vines all day but we would have liked music videos of pop hits or kid friendly movies and better choice of movies at night. Lastly, I did not enjoy the taste of the alcoholic beverages-tasted funny and the one bartender was not very accommodating when I did not like my drink. Other then those 5 opportunities for improvement I was very satisfied with this ship and cruise line and 100% satisfied with the main dining room staff of Birendra, Jay, and Noel!!! Read Less

They made the cruise much more enjoyable and we built a relationship that was sad to let go of. The ship was amazing. I do wish they had more stores but i could do without. The shows were hilarious and great as well. The activities director Magic Marvin and Chris were great to watch and get to know. There was also a parade the last cruising day so that was enjoyable as well. We were barely in our rooms and had a great time. Lots to do and lots of naps from being so tired lol. I’d definitely go back on this ship especially with the crew they have. They are amazing hardworking people who need so much more recognition for what they do. If the menu does not have anything you want, they will accommodate you if they can. Will definitely be choosing Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

The highlight of the cruise for me-besides the amazing food, onboard activities, and exquisite destinations- was the service provided by the cruise staff. Our servers became part of our family, our room attendant was always smiling and the rest of our service was prompt and professional. The weather was a bit overcast on one of the days, but there was so much to do indoors that it hardly mattered. A bar was only a few feet away at all times, and touch screens were available everywhere to keep you updated on all the different activities that were going on at any given time. There were comedy shows, dance shows, ice shows, health seminars, shopping and jewelry seminars, and so much more -those being my favorite events. There were always pools and hot tubs open when I wanted to swim, even late at night. My experience with the shore excursion desk and the general service desk were both very helpful and happy to refund and reschedule activities for me and my boyfriend. The ship was big enough and there were enough events in different areas that I never felt over crowded. The fun zone with an arcade, slides, and the wave rider were also personal favorites. Read Less

We embarked and disembarked at Port Cape Liberty is was the smoothest experience we have had yet. This is our fifth cruise. We were traveling with myself , my husband and my 12 year old son. It is a dated ship but a fun one. Our cabin was 7694 Junior Suite Aft. It very nice, lots of closet space, large balcony. Our room had a coffee maker and a tea kettle. I wish the coffee make worked a little better. Our Cabin steward was very friendly and helpful. he made sure lots of coffees, teas, hot chocolate, and creamers. We also had robes which was very nice, this port was a little chillier than expected. This room comfortable sleeps 3 and could sleep 4. My son preferred that the sleeper sofa remain open and made up as a bed. I am happy to say this room is large enough to accommodate that comfortable. We had a 4 night dinning package which worked out great. We did not eat a Chop's Grill because we enjoyed Giovanni's table so much and the staff their is exceptional. They are able to get you what ever you want to eat just let them know in advance, their pasta how ever is made fresh daily and is very good. We also did the "Murder Mystery" dinner which was very fun, I highly recommend it worth the extra price. Izumi's was also very good which was surprising since I am not wildly fond of sushi but theirs was very good. We also did Chef's Table , this is an extra charge but well worth it. Wendell was very knowledgeable about wine pairing.Dinning was very fun on this ship. All of are meals were eaten together and they are very good at accommodating children. Our big excursion off ship was the dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon. Best excursion we have be on yet. Worth the price. If you have an extra person to stand on shore and take pictures that's great but we all wanted to do his experience and fully enjoy it. They have a professional photographer there to capture every moment. The price was approximately $140.00 dollars for the pictures and video of the dolphin foot push. I recommend that everyone enjoy this incredible adventure and just plan on paying for the pictures to share the adventure with your at home family members. Fun trip would definitely do it again. My son is 12 and is considered a teen on Royal Caribbean. He really enjoyed the teen only adventures that were free on the ship so his advice is to look for those adventures. They will close a venue such as Ice skating or the Flow Ride to everyone else but the teens for one hour. he really enjoyed this. If you are planning on going on this ship enjoy your Adventure. We chose this cruise because flying wasn't necessary and we got a really great rate with perks on a Labor Day Special. The food was good everywhere with a good variety and always a great dessert selection. Being recently renovated, the ship's main areas were beautiful and also easy to get around The entertainment was the best with our favorite bring The Long Road which was an Eagles Tribute Band and totally sounded just like them!! We wish the casino had at least one Let It Ride table. My husband ended up playing other tables he didn't particularly like but the dealers Sergio, Ritchie & Sara were friendly and helped him out. My biggest complaint would be that you could not use the main pools or hot tubs as way too many kids were always in them,, thus making Solarium pool & hot tubs extra crowded. The recent refurbishment has made the ship feel new and the many lounges, dining areas, showrooms are beautiful! Rosita our Cabin Steward kept our room very clean and our Head Waiter Yunjiao and asst. waiter Jorge were very efficient, helpful & friendly. Can't say much on ports as weather was cloudy & rainy but spent a nice 4 hours on Cabbage Beach in Paradise Island in Nassau. Read Less

This was my fourth cruise in 25 years & my second time in a row cruising with Royal Caribbean. I don’t think I’ll ever choose another cruise line other than Royal Caribbean again! They do an incredible job! After a Bermuda cruise on the smaller “Grandeur of the Seas” in 2015, the “Adventure of the Seas” was a nice way to experience a larger ship. It wasn’t too much of a jump in size. However, this was my first time on a fully booked ship, which took a little getting used to (long waits for packed elevators, lines for everything etc.). But, after the first hectic day & after relaxing a bit, it was much easier “go with the flow” & be patient with the elevators & lines. It was also my first time trying “My Time Dining”, which also took some getting used to. Though after figuring out that you can (and SHOULD) make reservations with My Time Dining, & can do it for the same table & time every night for dinner, it was wonderful! As for other notes: *Ports: It IS possible to enjoy the ports-of-call on this cruise without booking an excursion. However, Cape Canaveral is just a port & you will need to take a taxi to get to anything on your own. They offered a very easy drop off/pick up service for $15 round trip per person (plus optional tip) at the stand right outside our terminal. The six-person cab will take you anywhere local, just ask. It was raining, so we only went to some souvenir shops on A1A & Walgreens to get toiletries we couldn’t buy on the ship, but it was still nice to get off the boat for a bit. One last note, the shops AND the casino onboard will be closed while in port at Cape Canaveral. Coco Cay requires a free (no tipping needed) boat ride from the ship to the island, but it is a must-see, private paradise (even in cloudy/drizzly weather). Just remember that everyone needs to take a boat back, so don’t wait until the last minute to go or you’ll wait in a long line! Nassau is lovely & has improved a lot since I was there 15 years ago. There was a lot of walking to get from the pier where we docked to the town, but there’s a free shuttle (tips suggested) for that too. *Handicap Assistance: My father traveled with me & has difficulty walking long distances. And there is a LOT of walking onboard a cruise ship. The crew went out of their way, every step of the way from embarkation to debarkation, to help. However, if you will need a motorized scooter onboard, you MUST make those arrangements prior to sailing. Scooters are not rented out on the boat through Royal Caribbean. Wheelchairs ARE available once onboard however, but I would recommend making those arrangements in advance too so they can be prepared to help you sooner & at the ports-of-call. You cannot take a wheelchair off the ship (though that rule must be flexible because we did see one or two off the boat). Overall, I would absolutely do this trip again & would highly recommend it. There’s a bit of a learning curve in the first day or so onboard, even for some of the crew it seemed (though mine was the very first sailing of this particular itinerary from NJ), but by day 2, things were smooth as can be, so don’t be discouraged if you aren’t thrilled on the first day. By the end, you won’t want to leave!! Read Less

This was our only chance to take a cruise before work commitments and was very much enjoyed. We will definitely be going again next year. Embarkation was very well organized and swift. The crew and staff were great, the food was delicious with a huge variety to choose from served fresh everyday. Our waiter and his assistant were great at recommending what food was being served and recommendations on what to choose depending on our appetite. Our adult children were kept busy with the entertainment on board the ship and were impressed with the amount of events to go to. The cabins were kept clean at all time and anytime we saw our cabin attendant he was quick to ask how we were and always had recommendations for entertainment on the ship. Disembarking from the ship went very smoothly. Definitely recommended for people who want to have a stress free and enjoyable vacation. Read Less

we chose the cruise because we wanted to try a different ship and also wanted a seven day cruise and not a 5 day cruise as that was the only one available on Anthem of the Seas. We loved the ship the food was great. We were especially impressed with the buffet. It had a great deal of variety and an abundance of food. The main restaurant was also great the food and service was excellent. There was also a great deal of shade available around the pool which is important for us. The entertainment was very good the comedians were great. We liked the promenade on this ship more than on the Anthem of the seas . There was more variety of food available after hours. Our cabin was very spacious for an inside room plenty of storage space, I guess because it was an older ship. The only thing we were not impressed with was the solarium which has a sky opening so when it is cold and the weather is bad you cannot seek refuge there. We love the Solarium on Anthem of the Seas much better. Overall we loved the Adventure of the seas and are taking it again soon heading to Canada and New England. We traveled alone but if you come with children there are many activities available and the pool area has sections specially for children of all ages. Read Less

Our waiter Yudistira and Assistant Waiter Jayprakash were wonderful, friendly, and very efficient like they could almost read our minds when we needed something. We were a bit disappointed with the Windjammer in comparison to the food at the buffets on the Anthem of the Seas. Entertainment was well chosen. We enjoyed the Eagles Tribute Band (The Long Run) Concert, Comedy Shows, Ice Show and 70's Night. Beautiful ship inside and out. Staff on Excursions were very friendly. The bus driver and hosts on our trip to Universal were very friendly. Unfortunately it rained on day for CoCo Cay. This was our first time on a ship and we were both pleasantly surprised. From the initial boarding of the cruise until we disembarked the staff and service was fantastic. The line moved quickly and we were directed with friendly faces. After boarding our room wasn't ready but we were welcomed to explore. We walked through deck floor and spoke with some of the staff and looked at all of the decorations. The ship had just been updated and it was beautiful. Once our room was ready we went out to explore. The pool areas band was great. The atmosphere was lively and even though the bar was busy they were attentive to everyone. The ship was clean and well maintained. We visited several of the restaurants including Giovanis, Izumi, and the Saphire room. The food was delicious and the servers were great. Throughout the time we had Ben & Jerry's and Starbucks. At night the entertainment was fantastic including the 70's promenade with the staff. The crowd was excited continued to party into the night at the deck party. I greatly enjoyed our time and have already recommended this ship to others. We took a January cruise on the beautiful Oasis and the Adventure is every bit as beautiful but understandably smaller. I was not disappointed. I specifically chose this 5-day cruise from San Juan, PR to Bayonne, NJ to enable me to reach Diamond status. I needed 9 cruise points and the Jr. Suite was priced low enough to book which gave me double cruise points for the suite. This was my first suite and I was amazed how much storage was available. We had cabinets we didn't even use thanks to the large walk-in closet with a wall of shelves! Also a tub/shower. We flew in to San Juan from Dallas arriving around 1pm. We opted to take a taxi from the airport to the pier for $26 set fare and were able to split this cost with another couple we saw at baggage claim. Easy embarkation and departed for St. Maarten at 8pm. The cruise made only this one stop and we took a $6 cab ride from the pier to the courthouse in Philipsburg, and from there walked up the beach "boardwalk" to a bar called "Pirates 'n Paradise" and when we saw the Ohio State flag and sign, we had to stop since my wife is an alumni. We sat at the bar overlooking the boardwalk and the beautiful beach for a beer and some great people watching. The next 3-days were at sea and we enjoyed the food and entertainment provided. The ice show was spectacular and the other singers, dancers, orchestra, comedian, and juggling act were great to watch. Advertised activities were popular for the variety of guests. Food was good. We usually ate breakfast at Windjammer and coffee was excellent (strong) whereas one day, we ate breakfast at main dining room where sit-down service was slow and coffee was weak. Main Dining room dinner was good and service generally excellent. We only had two gripes. On the last sea day, we could not access our in-room TV services menu to review our bill. When it was delivered the final morning, there were two errors overcharging us $222 which required we wait in a long line at guest services to get resolved. They could have used more representatives to help. After that the walk-off disembarkation in Bayonne, NJ went smoothly until we exited the cruise terminal building for a fairly long walk to the Taxi shed in a parking lot across the potholed street. We had looked online earlier for taxi fares rather than using Royal Caribbean bus service, and the taxi was "supposed" to be about $38 from the terminal to Newark airport which would have been a good deal. There was a severe shortage of Taxis. We were told to get in the only one there and he left without us. They called for another cab and one finally arrived and as we were loading luggage we were told the fare would be $65 plus toll. We went ahead and took the ride for $70. The RCI bus would have been about $59. By the way, Uber and Lyft were also a possibility, but we never expected the complete lack of taxis and the "fare jacking". I only wish we could have had someone to share the taxi with us. Read Less

Awesome Boat, Crew and Experience. Went with friends and the time of our lives and mission accomplished! The Adventure is one of our fav ships and her sister The Explorer. Embarkation was a breeze the cuisine was admirable. We had a wonderful night in the Schooner Bar. Comedy Hypnotist was a terrific hit and the Ice Show wasn’t too bad considering a first run and standing ovations. Only disappointment was missing the dance show our first night at sea. We love the A B C Islands and look forward to visiting again. St. Maartin is always our fav, even with all the devastation around the island since last years Canes. Made sure I restocked my J W Double Black. Giovanni’s never disappoints and the Jammer was a good as ever! There’s never anything better than crashing into the crystal azure waters of the Caribbean! Spending three additional days in San Juan at what’s looks to be a great AirBNB condo and our first meal of Chinese was rediculously good. Highly Recommend. Read Less

This ships staff is markedly better than normal at being committed to serving the customer. When customer preference issues arose the ships staff and supervisors worked quickly to satisfy the request. Security seized our surge protector with no warning. We are diamond level and have taken many cruises with RC and this never was a problem. However, we were provided a loaner power strip(with no surge protection) for our voyage. No lines on the ship! Embarkation and disembarking were simple, efficient, and well communicated. Coffee machine was always broken in the Diamond Club, but coffee was arranged on deck 5 through special arrangement with Starbucks. The menus were okay, but if you’ve cruised as long as we have you can really tell the decline in the sofistication of the meals and the “refined” level of service. The DAILY taco station was a welcome Suprise; however the placement of the ingredients needs retooling. You can tell that a non-taco eater designed the assembly station for tacos. The shells were served stale, the meat was at the end of the line instead of at the beginning. This required guests to get in line to get started with a shell, skip all ingredients until the end of the line, then re-enter the line to put the lettuce, tomato, cheese and other ingredients in the taco in proper order. Once we brought the stale chips to the attention of upper management they fired up an oven to heat the stale taco shells to restore crispy ness to them. However, unless you asked for this service you wouldn’t know it was available as it wasn’t advertised. If your a lover Of romaine lettuce You are OUT OF LUCK on this ship! None on the entire cruise!!!! Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room needs a complete overhaul. The menu is sparse, food is substandard and served cold! Read Less

It was going to be my 1rst time on a cruise. To celebrate my husband birthday also honey moon. I choose royal because of the elegance. as I arrived everything was so organice and scheduled facinated since the moment we aborted. Verry organice, the employees the best knowledge of information of what they needed to do. With all the inf they provided it was enough for us not to fet lost.Im verry satisfied and impressed of what a cruise can offers. We got .to celebrate his birthday with all the high expectation at Giovanni's table. And the romance and luxury with all the decorations a honeymoon should look like.
