What a trip! This trip was a reunion of friends that met last year on a RCL cruise. Two couples from TX, one from GA and one from WI. Six out of eight of us met in San Juan the day before the cruise. We stayed at the Caribe Hilton. Very beautiful property! We didn't get to check out too much of it but what we saw was beautiful!! On cruising Sunday, we arrived at the port around ...

We recently returned from a 7-day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas. As experienced cruisers who have cruised with this line many times before, some things met and sometimes exceeded our expectations. We spent two nights pre-cruise at the San Juan Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino. The hotel underwent an extensive refurbishment since we last stayed ...

A Great Cruise (Despite Missing Luggage)

Pre-cruise travel: Travel from Vancouver to San Juan is a bit of a chore. We took a red eye flight (Cathay Pacific) from Vancouver to JFK on Friday night (Dec 12), arriving there at 6am Saturday. After a few hours layover we departed on American Airlines for San Juan, arriving at 530pm. All flights were on time. So far so good. Luggage crisis: After arriving in San Juan it became ...

SAT : Arrived in San Juan day in advance - It was raining when we arrived. We rented a car from Charlie car rentals (airport location) thanks to the advice from cruise critic. Charlie rentals came to the airport, picked us up and they even had umbrellas for us which was great. We stayed at the Radisson Ambassador hotel which I was a little concerned about even though we stayed there two ...

3 Couples Go Southern

There were 3 couples on this trip, all forty-somethings cruising for the first time sans kids. We flew out Thanksgiving night on the red-eye nonstop from Los Angeles to San Juan on American. Given the state of the economy, I think airlines should be improving in flight customer service, not going backwards. Except for the in flight staff, the flight was uneventful. We stayed at the Caribe Hilton ...

We are a couple aged 37 years in the cold tradewinds of Minnesota. Cruises and vacations to ports in the caribbean are a necessity to keep our blood flowing! We have two children that traveled with us. Daughter 15 and son 11. We are not picky people and rarely find "wrong" in anything. We know that you cannot please all people all the time and try to keep that in mind when traveling. We arrived ...

Before I begin, I want to thank all of the posters for their invaluable advice. This was our first cruise. We took the cruise to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We found Cruise Critic to be an excellent resource, especially for a first-time cruiser. We sailed on the Adventure of the Seas from San Juan on October 26, 2008. Flew from Philadelphia on 10/25 staying at the Hotel Milano for one ...

Background I am a 42 y.o. male with a European/South American upbringing and have been living in the U.S. for a total of 28 years. I see myself as a person of refined tastes but do not necessarily live everyday life that way. I consider myself as someone who knows (both by upbringing and then personal experience) what "is good" and what "is not so good". As a consumer, I enjoy and seek out good ...

Since we were doing a back to back, we got to stay on the ship without even getting off in San Juan. You get the new cards and the room steward moves your clothes. Anthony helped us move. If I did not say, he was our room stewart on the first half of the journey. They cleaned our room first so we stayed in the concierge lounge and waited with DeDe until our room was ready. We had the Royal ...
