This was our sixth cruise overall with this one being our second with Royal Caribbean. At our travel agent's insistence our group flew to San Juan a day before our cruise sailed. We flew on Southwest Airlines. There is no baggage fee on Southwest but their boarding procedure is strange. There are no assigned seats. You are given a number in a Section A, B, or C. It is my understanding that the A ...
We decided to go on a cruise with 4 other couples. The experience was amazing. The food was great, service impeccable, and the ports of call were terrific.
We found the ship amenities to be readily available whether it was the gym, the theatres, the restaurants or the bar areas. All were open and clean. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
The ship is huge, and it does take time ...
We always start our cruise with 2-3 days at the Port of call. We stayed at the Embassy Suites hotel in San Juan. Great pool and love the free breakfast and Manager's happy hours each day with drinks/snacks.
I never thought I was a Cruise guy, but I have to say they are a bargain in vacation travel and let you get a good "taste" of a number of places. There is more time involved preparing ...
The AOS is the smallest ship I have sailed on. I was excited for this and actually would love to go smaller next time. After reading cruise critic for over a year preparing myself for what could be a terrible mistake....., I was pleasantly surprised! I'm truly convinced that the 80/20 rule applies to cruising. 20% of the people are just not going to be happy no matter what, and 80% are at least ...
This was my wife and my first cruise with Royal Caribbean. We arrived in San Juan 3 days prior to our cruise as there are only two direct flights from the UK which are on a Wednesday and Saturday flying with Norwegian Airlines.
After a short flight delay, we checked in to the Wind Chimes Boutique hotel in San Juan which was cheap in comparison to all the major hotel chains but it is a small ...
We've been on maybe 15 cruises on several different lines. Honestly, they're all pretty decent with some minor quibbles. This was our 2nd on this ship, Adventure of the Seas. Heard it is due for a major overhaul this fall (2016) but, to us, there was no sign of wear; everything looked shiny and shipshape. Our mattress was much too hard and lumpy for our taste but we like a soft bed. Wish that ...
This was our 12th cruise on our 5th different cruise line (Carnival, Celebrity, NCL and Holland America). We’ve always had a good experience with RCL and liked the southern itinerary of this cruise, especially visiting two new islands (St. Croix and Grenada).
We flew in from Canada the day before just to be safe. Good thing we did because we got stranded in Philly for 10 hours. Arrived in ...
Food in the main dining room was just okay. The menu seemed limited in selection...my wife ordered hamburgers one night as nothing appealed to her. As the week went on the selection got better. There were less alcohol servers than prior cruises as they are pushing the wine packages. The bar and room services also showed a decline. Someone suggested it is because the tips are now prepaid; ...
I was very, very disappointed with this cruise.
First of all, Royal Caribbean advertises their ships on their website and in the media as having circus schools, surfing and roller skating. Our ship had NONE of those.
Every time we tried to go to the adult area of the pool it was always jam-packed, with the hot tubs filled to capacity, and there were never any chairs available out of the ...
I don't usually do reviews but here goes. The Ship itself was great, very well maintained and clean everywhere. Our Cabin maid was fantastic keeping our room clean and tidy at all times. The food was good but not always hot in the main dinning room, which you kind of expect when feeding that many people on that scale! To be honest we preferred the choice of food in the self serve Windjammer ...
