Great Short Getaway

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

Two of us traveled on Adventure out of Galveston on the 5 night to Progresso and Cozumel. Overall great cruise and really enjoyed the ship. Showing little age and was clean throughout the trip. Had DBP and UDP so did not eat in either MDR (except for 2 breakfasts) or WJ. Adventure has Izumi, Chops, Giovannis and Johnny Rockets as specialty restaurants. Thought we may get tired of the repetition ...

Overview: We’re a 60’s something couple finally able to travel after retirement. This was our first cruise since COVID and the first “off peak” cruise that we have taken. We were on Royal’s Adventure of the Seas sailing from Galveston to Costa Maya and Cozumel 2/9- 2/14/2022. The ship was only at about 40% capacity, which made for a lot more room and opportunity to enjoy it all. In short, we had ...

Nice cruise from Galveston during Covid

We recently moved from the east coast to Houston. Galveston is so convenient from Houston so we booked an inside promenade view for under $500 (for 2)for 4 days beginning January 3rd, 2022 - our first in over 2 years. It was great to cruise once again and, it had it's great and not-so-great - like all vacations: The great: price, service, and value inside cabin overlooking the ...

Our first time with Royal Caribbean and we chose the Adventure of the Seas out of Galveston. I was celebrating a birthday, my son and his wife were celebrating an anniversary, and we also had other friends and family with us. Again, most of us were first timers with Royal. Bottom line, it was perfect. I found myself saying 'Perfect' a lot on board. The ship was spotless, the staff was ...

Let me start by saying this was our annual family trip. we all got vouchers for free cruise, yet only one of us was actually able to use it due to "sold out of free rooms". We decided to go anyway. The ship is older, but for the most part in good shape. The ship was about 1/2 full which is good because I cannot imagine going on this ship full. The casino is so packed with machines that it is ...

Some complaints

Let me start off by saying that this was my first cruise experience. Being that they sailed at less than 50% capacity was a blessing. I cannot imagine being crammed on a ship at full. I will start off with saying that they should have been upfront about Covid testing from the moment we booked. Having to buy our own Covid tests was kind of annoying. Mine BARLEY made it to me in time at no fault of ...

We jumped through all the hoops which were simple. Download the RCCL app. Order the Emed test for rapid antigen testing. Do test 2 days prior. Print test results. Show test results, vaccine card and passport at terminal. We understood the mask rules although we thought it was ridiculous. I will explain why this was not a 5 star. The dining options in the Windjammer were ridiculous. 55% ...

Exceptional return to cruising

Background, wife and I are longtime cruiser almost exclusively with Royal Caribbean. We are a young (60) year old couple that enjoy life to its fullest and were celebrating our (40) year wedding anniversary. Like most, we were a bit reserved about cruising during the pandemic. However, we are both vaccinated and healthy. A specific reason we chose this cruise was the requirement that all guest ...

Now is the time to cruise....

We chose this cruise for a few reasons. The first and most important that really hooked us was 2 major things, A voyager class ship that has been amped and has tons to do and 2 days at Coco Cay. That was huge. The ship sailed with 1100 passengers roughly. This was one of the best cruises we have been on primarily for that reason. NO LINES! It felt like the ship was ours. I never did Flowrider ...

Underwhelmed

First I want to say we are grateful to be in the US were we still have some freedom. And we appreciate our contry and all she has to offer. The next information does not in any way share how grateful we are to be alive and well. It’s just our experience based soon to areas. One the COVID life and all that goes with it. Whether your a conformist or no. Two the standard that RCI promotes. ...
