We have traveled RCCL 3 times now and all have been very good. The staff, itineraries, food, and general cleanliness have been excellent. To service 3000+ people non-stop 7 days a week must be impossible. Yes, there are glitches along the way. Service people dead tired or having a bad day, rude cruisers, sanitation issues, a bad batch of food, broken equipment, the age of ship etc.. What I will cover are the things that can be changed. RCCL's demographic has gotten younger with more children. It is more like Carnival 10-15 years ago. As a result, all the music is millennial and very loud. Often the dance floors were empty with 30+ waiting for relatable music. When there was the 60s, 70s, 80s, even '00s the floor would fill, yet that was infrequent or 1 night of 7. Formal night has become tie night, and all other nights are shorts/ slacks and flip/flop nights. Just a lack of sophistication. We enjoyed the cruise, the people, the kids but felt there was no sanctuary other than the room. When the Blue Moon was jazz, it was ideal. You could have a drink and conversation without yelling and even dance cheek to cheek. One venue like that was appreciated. Cruising has become more casual and family oriented and RCCL has responded appropriately. I just wish RCCL would provide a venue or facilitate loyal customers, without losing gold status, to a line that does provide that (Celebrity). Read Less

We decided to fly to Puerto Rico so we could see more of the Caribbean Islands. We really enjoyed the ports - Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba and St Martin. We did the shark and turtle feeding excursion in Curacao that was arranged thru RC. On Aruba we arranged our own tour and it was AWESOME. It was called Trikes Aruba. We toured in a small group for about 3 hours on 3 wheel motorcycles. Can't say enough about that excursion. The ship and activities were fine. We were traveling with 3 teenagers and they tried the teen club several nights and said it was fun. We dined together every night but during the day we would let them do their own thing if we were at sea. That is one of the things I love most about cruising - you can let the older kids have their freedom to do what they want. Our wait staff were friendly and efficient. I am hoping to include a picture. We did my time dining and usually ate dinner between 8 and 830 every night and we always had the same staff on deck 3 - Birendra and Antonius - table 216 :) My daughters shared a balcony room 7688. Their room steward was very sweet - Rosaria. The balcony was huge - they had 2 lounge chairs and 2 regular chairs and a coffee table. It is the back corner room so they could see out back and to the left of the ship. My husband and I were on the same deck and our room was nice but standard balcony. We love Royal Caribbean and look forward to our next adventure. Read Less

This is our 3rd Royal Caribbean Cruise but the 1st on the Adventure of the Seas. It is a great ship and very clean. It was recently upgraded and has a similar layout to the other ships of RC. The food in the WindJammer was better than the Jewel of the Seas and has tons of choices and great service. The Main Dining every night was great overall and you can always change dishes if the 1st one you ordered was not as good as you had hoped. I was a little disappointed that the shrimp cocktails were now made with farm raised shrimp. Farm raised is almost tasteless compared to the briny accent in wild caught shrimp. Our room was nice though a bit tight but the biggest complaint I had was that the air conditioner did not get cold enough for me. I slept on top of the sheets every night even though I brought a small fan. They had a technician supposedly fix it but it was only marginally cooler after that. I suppose it would be fine for most cruisers but I live in Texas and keep my a/c at 70 during the night. The Shows were FANTASTIC....great comedy 4 nights and a singing trio from Vegas that had my family of 4 in tears it was so awesome. Landry was our comedian...so funny. Snorkeling in Bonaire was unbelieveable. Deep sea fishing in Curacao was a bargain and beautiful....caught Tuna and Barracuda. Palm Beach in Aruba was full of things to do including waverunners. Zipline in Loterie Farm at St Maarten is one of the most beautiful places in the island....a must do. Disney is our favorite cruise line but for the money Royal Caribbean is a great vacation. Both of my teenagers told me it was a great week and were sad to leave the ship. We already booked our next cruise while in board. Read Less

My favorite islands, Curacao, Aruba and St. Maarten were on the same cruise. Besides that Bonaire was also included. This las island has a beautiful beach with real clear water. The sand deos not stick on your body. It was fantastic. You can walk along for at least 1 mile into the beach and the water will not cover you. I will really recomend Bonaire to be included in most of the routes. I recomend more trips with these four islands together. The Adventure of the Seas is a very nice ship with all the entertainment needed for a fantastic vacation. Nice shows, nice food, good music every where, good camp for kids while you can attend different activities in the ship and a Casino big enough for gamblers with nice people. The only thing I would recomend is the istallation a new slot machines. I would love to make this route again in the future. Read Less

The entertainment was good. We enjoyed every shore excursion we choose. We started in Puerto Rico. Ports of call were St. Thomas, Curacoa, Aruba, St. Kitts and back to Puerto Rico. The best beach I have ever been on is in Aruba. We aren't into the dressing up for dinner. We ate at the buffet (Windjammer). Food was very good. Lots to choose from. Dinning staff were great. The shows were excellent. We saw two different comedians, ice show, magic show, dance group. They were all great. Our embarkation and the disembarkation went extremely well. I would recommend RC to first time cruisers. Our room steward was Chris (8th deck) and he was wonderful. Read Less

Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. Leroy & Saw in the Diamond Lounge were excellent. Really enjoyed the ports, especially DePalm Island in Aruba...what a great place...just wished I could have stayed a couple more hours there. We did the chocolate factory tour in St. Kitts...mostly it's just a video of how they make the chocolates. You don't actually see the equipment. I probably would have saved my money had I known this. This is a fun ship for kids with lots of water activities. Disappointed that there wasn't a new ice show...same one I saw about 10 years ago. Be aware that in San Juan, the taxis ONLY take cash. I ran through a ton of my cash just paying taxis and tips to porters. I usually put everything on my credit card (for the miles), so don't carry much cash anymore. Also, if you stay the night before at a beach location, be alert that there are sand fleas (no-see-ums) on the beaches at twilight. I didn't know this and got horribly bitten...made my first couple days of cruising miserable until I could get to some hydrocortisone at our first stop. Read Less

My husband and I chose this cruise for our honeymoon and it seemed like it would be like a fun, active ship. It being my first cruise I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after this experience I don’t know if I would do it again. First for the positives.... We stayed in Old San Juan for two days before the cruise and had a blast. It's a great walking city where you can safely wander to your heart’s content. Whenever we got tired or wanted to rest we would pop into a bar or restaurant along the way and have a drink, snack and chat with the locals. It was so fun and I can't wait to go back to Puerto Rico to explore the rest of the island. Embarkation went smoothly and we got up to our deluxe balcony stateroom quickly. The staff on the ship was probably my favorite part of the cruise. Everyone we encountered was kind and helpful. Just about every day we would go to Champagne Bar for yummy drinks, (try the coconuts martini), and talk with the bartenders Claudia and Resa(sp?). The ports were beautiful and our excursions were all a lot of fun so no complaints there. Now for the negative.... first off, I know this is going to sound harsh, but the majority of our fellow passengers were awful. I don't know if people think that once they are on vacation they can be rude or if they are this way all the time, but it was out of control. It seems as if everyone forgot elevator manners (i.e. allow people to exit before barging your way on), pushing their way or cutting their way to the front of a line, not saying please and thank you (I watched many go to the bar/towel kiosk/etc. and say, "give me a..." and instead of saying, "hi, can I please have a ...."), letting their kids run wild, talking LOUDLY in the hallways at all hours, and just being entitled jerks. The food was very hit and miss on the ship. We love food, and are adventurous eaters who will try just about anything once. Giovanni’s and the Chef’s Table were both wonderful so don’t pass either of those up! We also ate at Chops and it was underwhelming. We only ate dinner in the MDR twice. The service was wonderful, but the food was under-seasoned and blah to say the least. We also went to breakfast once in the MDR and the food was cold so we stuck with room service or the Windjammer the remaining mornings where the food was at least hot. Finally the last issue on the boat was the rocking and swaying of the ship. It was so bad on sea days I couldn’t wear heels for long because it felt like I was going topple over. Luckily neither of us got sea sick, but if you are prone to it I wouldn’t recommend this ship. Both of us felt swaying for a good 3-4 days after we got off the ship. Read Less

Great staff especially in the Casino. My wife and I had a great time. The water in Aruba was amazing and we will return for a land vacation. The embarkation was extremely easy at all the ports of call and the crew was very helpful at all ports of call. My wife and I especially enjoyed the dinner experience at the Chiefs table. This was a new experience where they paired wines with each appetizer, entre, and dessert. The wines were so good and they gave you a list to take with you so you can enjoy the wines at home. The entertainment was good but we have experienced better on other Royal Caribbean ships and Celebrity Ship which is their sister company. I would like to go back to Aruba and enjoy the beautiful blue water on a land excursion. I recommend this cruise to anyone who has not enjoyed the Southern Caribbean in the past. Thought it would be neat to leave out of Puerto Rico and visit 5 islands in 7 days. 1 of the islands though was canceled 2 days before we left, St Lucia. They refunded our shore excursion $ but then had to wait until we got on board the ship to schedule a new one for the replacement island of Fort de France, Martinique that they substituted it with. Our first stop at St Marten, we had to get up early and meet in studio B for them to call our tour to go ashore. We waited to the very end and it was never called. So we went out to the lady to check and she said it was cancelled, and asked didn't we get the letter? Well obviously not and why would they have tickets in our room if they knew that too. So we had to go to the shore excursion desk for another refund and went ahead at that point and set up our Martinique Zoo excursion instead. So we just took a water taxi into St Marten and walked around. Many pushy selling people there. St Kitts we did a Dolphin encounter that was great until the end at picture time. Now I knew pictures were expensive but OMG. 1 picture of 1 of us is $35. So 1 for each of us would have been $70. They had a picture of us with the dolphin pushing up out of the air and touching our hand lifted up high. Then a hand shake, then when you kiss him and he kisses you, and finally you swim out and hold him up. So you could do a cd with all the pictures for $130. This is what we did. Little did I know now that I am back home, that I can't seem to download the pictures and only run them as a video. So buyer beware. The zoo was good, no problems except rain. Did Nelson dockyard and Shirley heights with beach for 90 mins. All good but some pushy ladies at Shirley heights to buy. Barbados did Harrison cave that was good. Back on ship the internet seemed slow and kicked us off a few times. We got the deluxe beverage package and was awesome. As long as you can handle your drinks, it's a great deal. Most drinks seemed to be about $12 unless it's the drink of the day for $8. They had a couple of comedians on board that were good. They had a group of dancers that were ok. They did not have any Broadway type shows. They had an ice show that I heard was good, but was too tired to go to myself. I had a balcony room and everything worked good. The shower was too small to shave, so my sister in-law suggested to open the doors and balance a leg on the sink and wala, that works. We did early 6pm dining in the main dining room with the same waiter nightly which is great. He gets to know you by name and is good at making suggestions or fixing anything and answering questions you have. He becomes part of the family. We thought the menu was great some nights and so so others. I guess it's all in what you are used to. One thing different about this cruise that I haven't had on others is the amount of crew members trying to push the extra activities on board to us. Kind of like the islands in selling stuff. I find that a real turn off. I don't care how nice you are about presenting it, if I had wanted to go to another restaurant or behind the scenes look, I would have scheduled it myself. One morning we had 3 different officers come to our table within 5 minutes to offer us deals. I'm sorry but by the 3rd one I kind of snapped at her. Every island was about 84 degrees and winds around 18 or more mph. 2 islands had rain. We were a family of 6. 2 - 73 year olds, and 4 between 49 and 56. We did not try any specialty restaurants so I cant speak about those. The casino didn't seem to be on our side. Took way more than it gave, but it's to be expected I guess. My husband loves watches but always laughs at the prices on these ships. He claims he can usually find the same thing cheaper from a store he shops at than what they sell them for but they do look good. Anyways, it seemed to be more like a carnival ship I had been on recently as far as food goes and entertainment. Rooms are better and shops more expensive. A good ship but not stellar. Read Less

I chose this cruise as it was a special "0" birthday and a Caribbean cruise was on my bucket list. I especially liked the Adventure of the Seas itinerary and particularly the fact that on my birthday I would be visiting Marigot Bay in St. Lucia - a place I have always wanted to see. However this was not to be. After my departure from London, I received an email informing me that St. Lucia was cancelled and the money paid for my tour with Royal Caribbean was to be refunded. I wanted to talk to someone at RC before I boarded the ship. This proved impossible from my hotel in San Juan, as I was told by RC in USA that they could not access my booking as it was made in London. I was finally told to talk to Customer Services on the ship. I find it totally astonishing that a huge international company could not put me through to anyone who could help. I sent two emails to Royal Caribbean, but received no reply. Needless to say, on the ship I was told that Customer Services could not help me regarding my complaint that the tour had been cancelled, and that I had not been offered anything else. It was impossible to book any tours for the new destination, Martinique, on board as the queue was huge. I then tried to call RC in the UK from the Diamond Club. The Diamond Club guest services manager looked up the phone number on the internet. With my help we located the number, but again could not get through. It seems there is no dedicated service or number for 'international' guests such as myself. The entertainment was good, shopping - seen it all before (!) - no bargains onboard. Didn't do any activities as we were off the ship every day and we booked independent tours based on Trip Advisor reviews. All the independent tours were good, and the only one booked with Royal Caribbean was cancelled ...! All in all very inadequate customer service once you are a captive passenger and they have your money. It makes me very nervous as to what would happen in an emergency to a European passenger travelling outside Europe..... Read Less

This was my third time cruising on Royal Caribbean, and they never seem to dissatisfy me. RC is the go-to place for cruising. Overall, the service was Great! But be weary of the Casino, the machines are old and the table dealers don't compromise when they make a mistake. Honestly, the ship needs a new casino. The Oasis of the seas is 2 times better. Bar servers are good, but some are too distracted to know who's next in line. the Night life is ok. I recommend getting a new DJ, he suxs. he plays the same music every night and tries to appeal to the mass, the only thing that kept me going was having a few drinks at the bar. Negative note: At 6:30 am. the morning of disembarking we were suddenly awakened by a loud pounding on our cabin door. We did snorkeling every day and the St Maarten catamaran ladder didn't extend into the water so returning aboard after a snorkel was really difficult. The The WiFi on the ship was spotty and many days our messages home would go thru sometimes a couple of days later. Very confusing for the recipients. Overall I would give that a bad rating. Also on the tv about two documentaries were constantly played and there really was nothing good to watch. The ship was beautiful and well maintained, but there were just too many people aboard. There were touch screens throughout the ship that showed your location, itinerary of shows and entertainment, etc. They were a great touch. This cruise was chosen by the nieces and nephews for our family cruise for its ports of call and departure city San Juan. Some of us had cruised the Adventure last summer but we were OK with going back for another cruise out of San Juan. We flew in the day before, highly recommended, and had a nice stay at the Hyatt House and got some needed rest after a long flight from Ohio. The cab ride to the port is very short and cost around $15 dollars depending on luggage. Get a porter when you get to the terminal ASAP and as long as your bag tags from Royal are attached with floor and room assignment you are free to enter the staging area. We arrived at the terminal at 10:45 and were on the ship by 11:30. Because we are Diamond members we were able to move a little quicker through the process. Because we had such a large party (23 people young and old) we sat at 3 large tables by the window on floor 5. The food was very good especially the appetizers and deserts. Our service was excellent considering the number of people in our party. The bad part was the sun was setting on our side making it very warm and the curtains were not able to keep it cool. Our Head Waiter Donald was notified but nothing was done. The windjammer was very good also for breakfast and lunch. Tables were kept clean and the servers were friendly. It is typical buffet food so you get a large choice and plenty of it. Remember it is a buffet not a 5 star restaurant. Entertainment was just OK. The Journey tribute band was excellent as is the ice show. The Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers are OK, not my cup of tea. The performances are flat and not inspiring to me. When I am on a cruise I want some uplifting sing a long music. Maybe if they changed the choice of songs I would like it better. The comedian was also OK but some liked him a lot more than I did. Service was very good throughout the ship. Our room steward Michael was excellent ( Room 7653 ) keeping us supplied with what ever we needed. Being nice and giving a small tip at the start of the week helps also. These room stewards work very hard. We had been to all the ports before so we just mainly shopped around and came back to the ship to enjoy the pool and flow rider. The flow rider should be open earlier even at ports as a lot of kids would enjoy riding than if they are not off the ship and it is less crowded. On port days the flow rider did not open until 3 pm. We have a philosophy that we don't let little problems bother us, we go with the flow. Sure RCCL will nickel and dime you on your cruise experience for things that you feel should be included, do your research going in so you are not surprised is the best tip I can give you. Looking forward to cruise number 18 in February on Oasis of the Seas. Read Less

This was my second cruise with Royal Caribbean. My first cruise was out of Florida on the Oasis of the Seas, so I was spoiled the first time around. Let me just say that the Oasis and the Adventure are a stark contrast to each other. You can really see that RC is directing their money to building new ships and not updating the older ones - this was evident most in the staterooms. The service was excellent all around, but especially in the Main Dining Room, where were treated to exceptional service from our wait and kitchen staff. My wife has many food allergies and they customized a menu for her. Our waiter played his guitar and sung to our table of nine each night. They did a great job. The Windjammer food has gone down hill significantly in three years, probably to cut costs, but it is very evident. The ports were very nice, St. Thomas, Aruba, St. Kitts & Curacao. I would however caution you on taking the Kon-Tiki excursion in St. Thomas - it was a rip off in my opinion - not actually what is described in their ads. We also purchased the basic soda package, the issue we had was finding machines and then finding one that worked. We only found two on the ship that worked. Disappointing considering the price of the package. Read Less

My family of 8 just finished a recent 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise to St Thomas, Curacao, Aruba and St Kitts. Itinerary, price and ship was my criteria. For my wife and I this was our 17th cruise (not all with RC) and our 3rd on AOS. Our first on AOS since the refurb. Getting the chance to sail again out of San Juan is always a thrill. We always go down a day early and stay at the El Convento. We spent the day before the cruise reacquainting ourselves with Old San Juan and showing it to the rest of the family. Embarkation day we woke up a mix of clouds and sun so we decided to head to the ship around 1. We got a cab-van for the 8 of us. They say the max is 7 people but I was able to throw a few extra bucks at the cabbie and we all went together. Arriving at the pier there was a long line to get in but our status and not having any bags with us got us in the "fast lane" and we waltzed right in thru security and to get our ship cards. Check in went pretty smooth. My wife booked 3 cabins and mixed and matched people to get the best rate. Having Jr's and Sr's in different rooms confused things but I don't blame the cruise line. After a customary all aboard drink on the promenade it was off to the rooms and food. Our bags came at a reasonable time. The rest of the day was spent exploring and for several of us getting a head start on the drink package. I will condense the port reviews but glad to answer questions if asked Day 2 was St Thomas but for us it was St John. We actually booked through the ship. Booking excursions is something we rarely do but the price and mostly the convenience seemed well worth it. I would have preferred docking at Havensight as there is not much to do at Crown Bay but again the ferry was right by the ship and saved the hassle of going to Red Hook and back. Trunk Bay is well Trunk Bay. For those who have been there no what I mean. Those that haven't, take the opportunity to go. I will say the ride over on the ferry was pretty choppy so be prepared. Day 3 was sea day Day 4 was Curacao. Long port time We love this island. Booked a private atv tour through ATV Buggys and Tours. A highlight of the cruise. Well worth the money. If you like adventure just book You can see my complete review on Trip Advisor "The Reviews Don't Lie." Got back and went to ship to clean up and grab a bite. Walked over to Rif Fort Village and Punda. Great area to walk and explore. Day 5 was Aruba. Another long port time. Wandered around time walked to close beach by ship. I probably wasted the day and should have explored more but for some reason didn't. Everybody was pretty tired as we had been on go since San Juan Day 6 was sea day Day 7 was St Kitts. We had just planned on going to the beach. Talked to a cabby just outside the dock and went to Carambola. A beautiful place to spend the day. Cab fare was $8 RT and rented 2 chairs and umbrella. We found St Kitts a place to maybe revisit. Lovely place with nice people. Disembarkation Got off ship late as possible. Got to baggage claim and we had a bag missing. Porters were very aggressive and slinging bags everywhere so not surprised people could lose bags. After 30 minutes of looking we went on to the airport. We got their and missing bag was there. Not sure if somebody picked it up by accident or a porter loaded it by mistake. Bottom line we got the bag Ok for the ship it self. This may be disjointed as things come to me I write it. She is still beautiful and classy. No real signs of wear and tear. I guess if you wanted to be super picky you could find something. For us it was clean and safe. My room (8520 Front-Port Side, also the smoking side of the ship) was as anticipated with no surprises good or bad. Our room steward was excellent. The cruise director was very good. A very funny guy. I never went to a production or comedy show but did attend the Newlywed Game and one other adult game show later in the cruise (name escapes me) that was hilarious and had a huge crowd participation. Bar service was good throughout. Enjoyed the Sky Bar and Schooner lounge the best. The bartenders were top notch. Mixed Drinks and beer are expensive. Believe the beers were $8 and mixed drinks $12-$15. Do the math if you need the drink package. I think it was day 4 when they offered the buy 8 for $80.00 special. Casino was typical of most cruise ships. Did notice the minimum bet for all the blackjack tables was $10. 2 for one bets on roulette were a $5 minimum. Not sure about craps table. Oh yeah it is still smoky in there. Main pool was always crowed as were hot tubs. Not so much in adults only area but why allow 16 and older in. Should be 21 and up. Normal lounge chair hogs. Didn't see their 30 minute policy invoked. Movie screen by pool bar was under utilized in my opinion. Played funny videos during the day and some movies at night. Biggest draw was the last game of the NBA finals. Enjoyed our couples massage. Always a great stress reliever. Other common areas we clean and nice. The heliport area on deck 5 is a great spot for star gazing. Always a long line for flow rider and rock climbing wall. Putt Putt was fun. I always enjoy watching people shoot 20 ft shots with a gusty wind on the outdoor basketball court and fuss when the miss. Ok I save food for the last. The dining grade is based on food quality only. This is the reason it didn't get 5 stars and almost caused a 3 star. It's not that the food was bad. It was actually good in the Windjammer and great in the Main dining room. The breakfast buffet always had the normal fare but needs more than 1 omlete station. Dinner always had burgers, hot dogs, minute steaks, chicken and fish. They would have different theme nights where new items would be added. My issue (a big one) is the lack of availability. Both stopped seating at 9:00. Windjammer often closed between 4-5:30. To me this is bad. Yes they have the Café but there the pizza was bad and the sandwiches mostly bread. People tend to eat later on vacation but the hours on this ship were not conducive to doing so. Service was mixed. Sometimes servers would take drink orders sometimes not. No big deal to me. A late night limited menu is much needed. Johnny Rockets was ok. Wasn't going to pay the $7.95 charge for room service Never tried the specialty places. Went to main dining room, once, on the second formal night. The food and service were outstanding, We had the prime rib and lobster. Our servers just kept bringing drinks and lobster tail. We left smiling, full and miserable. Just don't like having to always wear slacks and colored shirt to dinner. Some do and that's fine to. Need more places for the coke machine dispensers. There you have it, one man's review. My family had a really nice trip. It was hot but that's what you want and expect for June in the Southern Caribbean. My issue on the ship is more to do with RC policy (food) than the ship itself. The upgrade did add some nice amenities for things to do. I look at her as like a matriarch of the large ships. A grand old queen that just keeps sailing along. God speed to her and her travelers. I would highly recommend this itinerary. Flying to San Juan, Puerto Rico is quite a journey from California but what a lovely place to visit. The people are so very friendly and we always felt safe. Do come a few days early as our flight was delayed and we got in the following day. The ship Adventure of the Seas is very nice, clean and lots to do, never a dull moment. Our Cruise Director Casey had stuff for everyone to do all day long. The food was great in the dinning room and the buffet was good too. Our room was well taken care of and our excursions were fantastic. We went to St. Thomas, Curaçao, Aruba and St. Kitt's. All wonderful places. So three complaints I have about Royal Caribbean, they are small complaints but I don't like nit picking and I feel like Royal Caribbean nit picks. 1. I have many lanyards at home from previous cruises and I understand not everyone uses a lanyard but I do, I could have brought one from home but I didn't because I didn't want even more lanyards to bring home so I waited until I got to the ship. There was a nice Puerto Rican man selling cool lanyards that say Puerto Rico for $5, I kind of wanted one but didn't buy it because I figured I was getting one. NO, I was wrong, Royal Caribbean does not give you lanyards, you have to buy one in their store and they are more than $5, definitely not happy about that. I understand again, not everyone uses a lanyard and it's a waste to give to people when they are not going to wear, so ask and give to those who truly want one, its pennies on the dollar for them to make them in bulk. 2. Laundry... There are no self serve laundry facilities on the Royal Caribbean ship. Are you kidding me? It would have been fine if I knew, I would have made arrangements for this but I thought I would do laundry at some point on the ship, we were gone for 10 days. Oh but you can pay $35 to shove a few pieces in a very narrow bag and they will do it for you, I don't think so. So we did laundry for 2 hours in the AM while in Aruba. 3. I always buy a specialty coffee card when on a cruise. So I am ordering coffees and by day 4 I realize out of a 15 stamp coffee card I now only have 2 stamps left so I ask about this and I find out that each coffee I drank, Grande was 2 punches. Really? So if I ordered 2 Talles and put it in a Vente cup I would have had more coffee and the same amount of card punches. Again, had I known I would have dealt with the situations but I felt like there was 0 communication after I booked the cruise and these things I knew nothing about. Would I go on a Royal Caribbean cruise again? Yes but now I am more informed of the things that are important to me, I hope this helps someone else know too. Read Less

I am a travel agent and wanted to experience RCI and the itinerary. I was not terribly disappointed. Crew was great , no issues. The dinning room food was a real turnoff for me , the menu was lacking, food lacked flavor.Wait staff was wonderful , though . The Specialty dinning at Chops was fantastic, really enjoyed and way worth the money , staff there was also very ,very good and professional. Windjammer was typical buffet. good , but not great. Pool area were very good, clean, well patrolled by the deck crew and wait staff and enjoyable atmosphere. Entertainment was great, the ice show was very enjoyable Crew was very helpful with information and directions. Future cruise staff was great , and I booked a cruise for 2018 on the new Symphony of the Seas. I am excited about that. RCI is a good cruise line and would recommend. I prefer Celebrity at this point but maybe the Symphony of the Seas will change my mind !! I may try RCI out of Galveston to get a better comparison before head to Europe next year ! Read Less

I wanted to go to Aruba and spend more than five minutes in that port of call. We decided to take a city and beach tour on our own that was 2.5 hours for $20 per person round trip. The embarkation was a breeze once we discovered we could bypass the long lines and get into the Crown & Anchor Society shorter lines. The ship is beautiful, very clean, and attended to very well; however, our balcony suite stateroom has a faulty shower that accumulated too much water that would sometimes overflow into the entire bathroom space. The mattress would have been better if it were higher and pillow topped. My lower back suffered the strain after three days. The service has diminished in my eyes this last trip. I assume since they have adopted the automatic gratituity to each sea pass charge, the employees have grown a little less gracious, but that is not to say they do not care, it's just diminished. In all of the times I have sailed with RC, I have yet to do one of their excursions; however, I have always ventured out on my own, found a local bus or a much cheaper tour group and have enjoyed the ports of call just as well and still did everything I could have done on the ship's package. I plan to cruise again, either in the fall or next summer, and it will more than likely be with RC; however, I would like RC to get it's head back in the game if they want to set the industry standard for excellence in service and experience. We pick this cruise cause of dates and where it went, cabins were a little dated and only 3 plugs in the whole room. We had the grand suite and we did like the bigger bathroom and lounge chairs by the pool for suite people. Food was good we ate at Chops steak and it was the best. Early June was a good time to go temp in low to mid 80 and was always a breeze. We were supposed to go to St Lucia but at last minute they changed to another island. They said not deep enough. That was one of the main islands we wanted to go to. Since we were in the suite we had higher upgrades which was nice. First to check in no lines waiting. it was a great trip maybe 3 rd time we have flown out of st Juan. Internet not as fast as I thought it would be but ok. Read Less

Thanks to Freddy and his assistant in the dining room. Thanks to Noel in the cabin. Was a very nice week. The Martinique change of ports ..there should have been more info on Martinique and the beaches to go to. The port change was announced as we were about to leave and we had no time to do any research. After dinner shows...do we need to see Elvis??...how many years ago was that...or that other El Gaucho guy??....karaoke was bad with the same worthless singers trying to sing all the time..couldn't the person in control pick some other people..ugh The dolphins in St Kitts and the kayak/snorkle in Antigua were great!! Need more beach info for all ports... Liked the option of deck 11 for meals..times of operation and selection were very good. Prices for the special dining were too high.. Getting on/off the ship was fast and organized. Great week... Read Less

I loved my cruise! Very relaxing, great activities, awesome food, and accommodating staff. Embarkation was rough because if the Safety Muster and how long it took to get done due to passengers still boarding, crowding so many into a small area, and the weather. I traveled with my mother and sister who have cruised on RC before. There boasted about how awesome it was so I had to have the experience myself. Our stateroom was nice and Enrico kept is clean, warming and inviting each day. The Dining room staff were very kind and patient and the food was amazing. Casey the cruise director is great at inciting fun and spontaneity. The Art Auction needs to be reevaluated either make it fair an open or exclusive and private. Currently, it's very discriminatory toward guest based on stereotyping or type casting. Appreciating art is for everyone! I had some issues but will definitely be on another RC cruise. The shore Panoramic Bus Tour excursion for St. Kitts was a waste of time. The tour guide didn't seem to know very much about the tour. Alton, gave the ok to ask questions but gave short one word answers that were more common sense then educational. Also, the tour guide didn't stop very often so that we could take pictures, and the tour bus didn't have adequate air conditioning. Read Less
