If the room attendant does a great job of making towel animals I was tip extra. the wife can't cruise without seeing her towel animals on the bed, sofa, etc. The head waiter we saw only once, the waiters were excellent. The boarding was excellent. We had a suite and it was very nice and the floor was quiet. The cruise director was only average, but she could speak several languages. The ship was clean, and we've sailed on The Adventure several times. The Islands have recovered nicely, but are not 100% back. The food was good, not great, again the service was very good. Mu wife enjoys the spa's and had several spa treatments. I had fun, didn't get rich in the casino, the staff was friendly. The they handles an over served woman at our three card table well. We love RCCL and hope to sail again in several months. Read Less

Really enjoyed our recent holiday cruise on Adventure of the Seas. Cruised from San Juan to Southern Caribbean w/stops in St. Thomas, St Kitts, Curacao and Aruba. Family of 5 and several other family members joined in for a total of 15. There was something to do for everyone. Cabin - excellent, Junior Suite deck #9 for us and inside cabin deck #9 for kids(young adult/late teens) Really liked the size of the junior suite, big closet and bathroom w/tub, nice size balcony - center hump and close to elevators. Kids interior cabin was standard and fine for them. Food - something for everyone. We did Chops Grill one night for holiday special dining experience which was extra $ but excellent on Christmas Eve. Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Also tried Chef's Table (without kids) and it was fantastic also extra $ - nice food wine pairings, great conversation, table and superb service. Sapphire Dining (Main Dining Room) is gorgeous and must have been redone recently - entire staff works really hard. Shout out to Dony & Ewayen - the best Head waiter/Assistant waiter. Food quite good - tiger shrimp, beef, salmon and on last night the lobster tails were perfectly prepared. Windjammer - always full of selections so something for everyone - staff works incredibly hard! Pork loin was particularly good the one night we dined there. Line for omelette station but worth the wait. Entertainment - the staff went above and beyond - Simona (Cruise Director) and Sheli created fun venues from karaoke, bingo, games, shows, zumba etc. Comedy show good, missed the dance and ice shows, 50's/60's show great. Venues - Andrew at the piano in the Schooner Bar is AMAZING! So enjoyable to hang out there with the family and listen to him play/sing. He never took a break and everyone there loved it. Shout out to Beverly and the other servers - the Schooner Bar rocks! Solarium area very enjoyable even on sea days. The bar staff was awesome and there seemed to always be room in the hot tubs - chairs on sea days go quickly but always one to be had if you are not too picky. Casino - Checked it out but of course not a winner :( It was busy but hard w/the smoke I think (personal preference). Guest services very accommodating. Excursions: St. Thomas - Magen's Bay: We cabbed over $10pp - totally worth going as it is gorgeous, St. Kitt's - ships Plantation, lunch, beach excursion to Nevis for the day - Nice way to see Nevis, Curacao - we ventured to Mambo Beach and did not know what to expect - we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our day there, and Aruba - Half day Jeep tour excursion through EL Tours - AWESOME - great sites and tour guide Ronald - we did not miss a thing and had fun off roading driving the jeep! We then had time for Iguana Joes' - nachos, margaritas and lunch and a few hours at Eagle Beach before heading back to the ship. Loved the Southern Caribbean itinerary. We began the trip one day early in San Juan - La Concha Renaissance - great hotel w/superb staff and restaurant/bar & accommodations. Spent time before boarding ship in Old San Juan which is up and running well - shops open and sites are a must see - El Morro and the forts. Also hit "Waffler Avenue" tiny restaurant for breakfast - exit La Concha and go right - great waffles. Ask me any questions! We had a great trip and I would recommend RCCL Adventure of the Seas! I️ chose this cruise due to the itinerary, we saw an island everyday except 1 cruise day to get back to San Juan. We had 2 cabins with balcony’s. If you enjoy sitting in the morning or evening quietly and privately get a balcony. They are not big, but have 2 comfortable chairs and a nice table between them. We could not take out the plastic divider between the balcony’s but could hear each other if we needed to say anything to our daughters sitting out on their balcony next door. We had a plastic wall on one side and a medal wall on the other. Our cabin on the 8th floor was on the even sided room numbers and we had a beautiful view every morning docking and seeing the islands from our room and balcony. The rooms were adequate with 2 singles for our girls and what seemed to be a king when the singles were together for our room. There was plenty of storage and a nice enough closet. We slid our suitcases under the bed and that was a def space saver. As far as dining, we had breakfast every day in the “Windjammer”. There was a very good selection of hot and cold foods. There is a Starbucks on board and since we had the deluxe beverage package (if you buy for a 21 year old in the room, both over 21 must have the same package) my daily coffee was included. The ships coffee was good as well. Dinner every evening was in the main dining room and the food was amazing as well as our waiter and his assistant. They were pleasant and made us feel so welcome nightly. Thank you to Arvhel and Xiaoyoung for a great week! We were not going to get the deluxe beverage package but ended up getting that as a Christmas gift to ourselves and we are so glad we did. Trust me you will not want to worry about the cost of things when you see the beautiful frozen drink special that change daily, the amount of bottled water you will want and cold drinks after a long day on an island. Truly makes vacation well...more vacation like. Our excursions included a day trip to Nevis (which was cancelled the night before). We wanted an excursion that first day so we picked up the “Fan Ta Sea catamaran tour” I️t was so much fun. Relaxing on the way out listening to music and enjoying the snorkeling...then the rum punch, beer and other non alcoholic drinks as well as delicious lunch were served and the day just got better by the moment. So glad the original excursion we booked was cancelled. My favorite excursion was an excursion found by my research (months of it) we used “COSOL tours” for Castries, St Lucia. Wow wow wow. Book it, you will see the island and have the best beach day, as well as the most amazing food. Our guide “yellow bird” is the owners brother. He was awesome. The tour van is air conditioned and well maintained. Before I️t was over we all said we are coming back and doing this tour again. That is how good I️t was. Read Less

Good port destinations, had a great time on shore excursions and so much to see on board and at ports .. never a dull moment, entertainment artists were A grade, Cabin was cleaned 3 times a day, accommodating to customer needs with culinary choices, we were served Indian vegetarian food on demand at any time of the day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Lots of attractions on board -flow rider, boogie board, mini golf, basket ball court, rock climbing, slides , so much to do for all ages. Service was awesome , from shore excursions teams to staff , promenade, room service. Dining is a huge 3 floored Sapphire dining room .. and each room is assigned a head waiter , assistant and supervising managers who cater to special dietary choices. The ports on the ship were awesome - St Kitts, St Johns, St. Lucia, Martinique (new port as St. Marteen was hit by hurricane) -loved the new port - Martinique is a unique not much explored island full of rain forests , coastal shore line, volcanic sand beaches, beautiful island, last but not the least , our new favorite is Barbados. We would definitely go back here .all the ports were tourist friendly and safe. Read Less

Affordable alternative to travel where You have almost everything at a arms length.. The ship is large with many theme restaurants, shops, pools, outdoor theater, sun decks, entertainment theaters, a casino and a lot of quiet places to relax, lie down, read, game room, library just to mention a few. The cabin was excellent, the dining alternatives, at he formal dining room and the windjammer lounge offered a variety of food for all to chose. The daily entertainment and evening activities and service is very outstanding. There was a variety of port excursions.I chose to do local tourist on foot in the proximity of the ports visited. The maps provided by the cruise line were very good. Being a local of San Juan I found the embarkation facilities in San Juan very run down, neglected and dirty, I cannot say that of the islands visited. Overall our cabin attendant Ms Milagro Thyne room 9642 and head waiter at our table 422 Mr Michael Jackson and his attendant Muhammad were efficient and professional. The disembarkation facilities are rather small in San Juan compared to the amount of passengers it has to handle, the parking is inadequate and more coordination is needed by the tourism authorities to make this pleasant. Puerto Rico has to learn from islands such as Barbados, Martinica,St Lucia that with smaller ports handled things very smoothly. Read Less

Nice flight from PHL to SJU on a bright 40 degree day. Upon landing, the temperature was about 85 degrees, enough to make it feel like summer again. Taxi ride from the airport to La Concha Hotel was a flat $21 for two people. Downtown San Juan looked pretty good and mostly unaffected by hurricane Maria. But, on the plane’s final approach, the homes we passed over mostly had blue plastic tarps for roofs. I’m afraid it will be years until most parts of this island are back to normal, if at all. Had a tasty Chinese meal for dinner at a place down the street from the hotel. They had pina coladas for $7.95 which were yummy. It was starting to get dark after we left so sat by the pool instead of dipping in the ocean. There were at least four places to buy spirits within three blocks from the hotel. You could tell who the cruisers were since folks buying two bottles of wine was a dead giveaway! Wine is also sold at the port, so you’re able to get your supply before going through security. Day 1: Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017- Embarkation Day Pan American Pier was just a short hop from downtown San Juan. Security and check in went rather fast after having to wait in a long line just to drop off your checked luggage. The whole process took about 25 minutes. One whole bank of elevators were being used to send the luggage to the upper decks so the elevators were kind of packed Muster drill took a good 45 minutes because some thought it a good idea to be “fashionably” late and a few absentees had to be rounded up. Aside from that, everything else went well. Dinner started at about 6:30 and the prime rib was yummy! Tomorrow(Sunday) will be the first formal night. One really nice thing about the interactive TV is that you can preview the menus from each of the dining venues. That’s something I really missed on the Vision and Rhapsody on my last two cruises. Peeking at your onboard account is another thing I’ve missed. Technology is great! Day 2: Dec. 10, 2017 Sunday – sea day Mostly just relaxed and soaked up the sun on the pool deck. There was a very active Zumba class going on that was full of energy. As those folks sweated, I sipped several pina coladas which worked out my elbow muscles. I didn’t get a drink package but they were only about $10 each plus 18% gratuity. Oh, my daughter sent me several emails of the snow from back home in PA. In return, I sent her a bunch a photos of people in the pools and the Adventure slicing through the warm, blue Caribbean! Day 3: Monday, Dec. 11. Curacao Spent the day at an all-inclusive resort, Sunscape. The ride there took only about 15 minutes. For the fee you pay you get unlimited drinks, food, beach chair, use of pools, and of course the beach. Although the property is absolutely beautiful, I got the feeling that the price was really on the high side. For example, Nachi Cocum, in Cozumel, is only half as much and you an equal amount of food, alcohol, etc. Despite that, I’d still go back again because the staff were great and always pleasant. Day 4: Tuesday, Dec. 12 Bonaire My very first time here so didn’t know quite what to expect. Decided to take a tour of the northern section of the island. It was $25/pp and took about two hours. Saw some of the best snorkeling/scuba diving spots in the world. The water was the clearest, bluest I’ve ever seen in all of my Caribbean travels! Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire all have the same in common. Very dry, hardly any rain, and lots of cactus. If there were any palm trees, I didn’t see them. Also, I noticed that all the villages and small towns we passed through were very well kept and there were no signs of poverty. Our tour guide said there was practically zero crime and most places didn’t even have a need for police. A home close to the ocean is over a million dollars but inland is much more affordable. Who would want to live somewhere with no ocean view, though? The downtown shopping area and even port shopping areas were very laid back and low keyed. I really enjoyed this place! No one at all in your face trying to coerce you to buy trinkets and souvenirs, etc. Day 5 Wed, Dec. 13: Aruba Awoke around 7:30 AM to at the beautiful port of Aruba.I pre-purchased an all- inclusive day pass at the Barcelo Hotel. I am sure glad I did because this was one beautiful property! It was a short ride from the port and we got there around 10 AM. All the staff were very nice and made us feel welcomed, like well-known honored guests. Their swimming pool area was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen! Most of the shaded loungers, by the ocean, were taken but we were very happy next to a pool. The bar staff kept refilling our drinks and the included buffet had great and tasty selections. We got back to the ship at about 4:30 PM to shower and unwind. The bright sun seared us so am glad I took along a goodly amount of strong sunscreen. Still, I feel a bit burnt. The Cruise Compass noted that “All passengers had to be aboard by 10:30 PM.” That’s the latest return time I’ve ever experienced but guess it’s a very short hop to the final stop, Antigua. Day 6: Sea Day Dec. 14, 2017 Just kind of lazed around the ship and took it easy. Spent a bit of time in the Jacuzzi on the pool deck, read a bit, and not much else. It was like having a vacation from my vacation. Day 7: Antigua: Dec. 15, 2017 Where has this place been all my life? It was my first visit there and was very impressed. Due to the early 2:30 PM back on board time, couldn’t get too involved with much. We ended up going to Dickenson Beach which was just a short hop from the port. The same taxi driver that took us there returned at the prearranged time to pick us up for the trip back to the ship. This island has 365 beaches! I’ve got 364 to go! After dinner (I call it the Last Supper), we started packing up and, with sadness, put our checked luggage in the hallway. Day of Debarkation, Dec. 16 They called our luggage tag number at about 9:10 AM so off we went. All the elevators were totally backed going to the gangway on deck 1, so I had to lug two carry-on bags down two decks from deck 3 of the Sapphire Dining Room where we waited. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal but my knees aren’t what they used to be. Customs was chaotic! I managed to snag a porter which sped up the process quite a bit and we were in a taxi, headed to the airport, in no time. Boarding time for our flight was at 2:20 PM, so had about a two hour wait. Had I an earlier flight, there was a good chance I’d have missed it unless I did the self debarkation. At first I wasn’t going to write about this but feel it’s very important to mention. I have read numerous horror stories on various cruise sites/reviews about the behavior of the locals who sail from Puerto Rico. On day 1, I noticed that about 70% (just my estimate) of the passengers were locals. I thought to myself that this could quite possibly be “the cruise from hell.” I couldn’t have been more wrong. Everyone I met, or encountered, was super friendly, polite, happy, and outgoing. I saw not one example of jumping in line, poor elevator etiquette, or any other act of rude behavior I’ve read about in other’s reviews from past cruises. Actually, I felt that the locals turned a good cruise into a GREAT cruise! To sum up, I’d give this cruise an 11 out of 10! The absolute worst part of this cruise? Flying home after an extraordinary week of sun and fun! Funny, after reading this review I noticed there weren’t any cons about the ship itself. Well, there weren’t really any worth mentioning. Of course, nothing is every perfect. But, this was about as good as it gets! Read Less

Service on Main Dinning was superior to our expectation, waiter Saturnino and assistant Melvin on table 471 were always looking to fulfill our requirements which they always did, I wish to have Saturnino on our next vacations hahaha . We expect for him to receive the recognition he deserve from Royal Caribbean. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks a lot Saturnino for your excellent work and dedication. We enjoy all of the ports, our only concern was the change from St. Martin to Martinique which we understand because of hurricanes but we prefer another island instead of Martinique. We've been on this ship five other times, and this one did not disappoint. We love the itinerary, the ship, and the crew. Our only issues were upon embarkation. We live in Michigan, and our Enhanced IDs for the kids are WHTI compliant - meaning, they serve in place of having a birth certificate/passport for closed loop cruises. The person checking us in insisted they were not valid, and continually asked for the kids birth certificates. Fortunately I had brought them as we had this same exact issue at the port last year. But the point is I shouldn't have to bring Birth Certificates with me as the Enhanced IDs are Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative compliant! Royal, TRAIN YOUR CHECK IN STAFF PROPERLY! The MDR was disappointing as well, but that is entirely due to our waiter who appeared to have just "checked out" part way through the cruise. It was totally out of the norm based on past cruises. We wound up eating dinner at the Windjammer twice, and on the second night it was Caribbean night which was fantastic and we will be seeking that out again on future cruises. Read Less

This cruise was an anniversary trip for my husband and I . This was our second cruise aboard the Adventure of the Seas. Both trips we were impressed with the friendly staff, the layout of the ship, and the attention to detail throughout our cruises. The Adventure of the Seas is not the largest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet but she is elegant. Our cabin was on deck 10 for this trip, we booked a Junior Suite. The location was perfect, convenient to everything we wanted to get to. I was concerned about the proximity to the pool decks and noise but it was never a problem. The Junior Suite had plenty of room, plenty of storage and a very nice balcony. Our cabin Steward Michael was very good and everything was clean and speedy. We left for breakfast and came back to a clean room! The ship is well cared for and all areas were clean. Our previous trip we had Junior Suites on deck 9. We traveled with our adult sons on that trip and were equally impressed with the cabin size and layout. Both decks were good choices. Food onboard was good with a great variety. Service was good in all dining venues. We ate in the specialty dining Chop's Grille twice. Great food and great service. Giovanni's Table was good also, definitely worth a trip. The Main dining room is beautifully decorated with three stories and a variety of seating options. We like second seating and were well taken care of by Nigel and Putu. The Casino is good, staff friendly with a variety of table games and slots. My only negative is smoking, however they do have a nonsmoking section for table games. Wish they could do the same for slots. Entertainment on the ship was good. Each day had a variety of activities and shows. I was impressed that the ship produced it's own show featuring one of their performers. It was very good! Ports of call and shore excursions were good. Easy on and off the ship and never al lot of waiting in line. Adventure of the Seas is a beautiful ship so if you have the opportunity to travel with her do it! Read Less

We chose this trip mostly for the itinerary, but also because we were following it with a second trip, with the rest of the family, on the Jewel of the Seas, which was just returning to San Juan. Our week on the Adventure was, to put it simply, smooth sailing. From boarding, to our stateroom attendant, to restaurant waitstaff, to the front desk personnel, it was a no-complaint trip. I rarely put Wows on survey forms, but everyone with whom we had contact on that sailing rated at least one. The entertainment was generally good. I didn't enjoy one comedian, but the other headliners and the on-board singers and dancers were very good. The casino didn't take too much, and did offer longer low-limit hours than many we've seen. We tend to stay with our main dining room for dinner (and our waitstaff was fabulous!), so I really can't comment on the specialty restaurants. Wonderful staff, to say the least. And enjoyable ports as well. Thanks, Royal Caribbean! Read Less

I choose this cruise to complete the tour of the carribean islands. I have done several western and eastern cruises. I did the Aruba, curaçao and Bonaire southern Caribbean cruises last year and this time I wanted to see the island of the south east Carribean. We were apprehensive of San Juan. They have had so much destruction following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. However this part of the trip was not an issue until the return to the airport. We booked ship transfers to and from the airport. We decided against using it on the way to the ship due to the long lines, we took a taxi and sallied pun intended onto the ship. However we did use it on the way back. Not good. They herded us into long lines off the ship, long lines to get onto a bus, threw out luggage onto a box truck. Then a long line to pick up our luggage at the airport and then a long line at the airport. We left the ship at 10:30 and did not get into the airport till after one. However this aside, the trip was wonderful. We got off the trip in each port St. Kitts, Antigua, Barbados and St. Lucia and did a solo taxi tour of each island. It is not hard to find a taxi tour. The drivers on each island were great. The only issues we had were the little bus on Antigua was not comfortable, the driver on Barbados was not as personable as the other the three and the people on the beach in St. Lucia were very annoying. The last port of call St. Thomas was very interesting. We knew that we were the first ship back after Hurricane Irma and were worried about what we would find. The island was wonderful. They were welcoming and friendly. Magens bay beach was on its way to being rebuilt. All the beach chairs and umbrellas were brand new. The wrapping was coming off as they handed them to us. The food huts, etc were brand new. In fact my husband was the first drink customer in our section of the beach. They were going frame his dollar. The beach was awesome!! The tree damage is extensive. The water was calm and warm. The beach was well groomed and beautiful. They are still cleaning up the trees behind the beach. It is amazing the extent of the damage done, Hurricane Irma really did a lot of damage. Roads that we used to get there were ok. Secondary roads were ripped up, tress were down. Amazing resiliency of the islands was fantastic. St. Thomas is always a joy!! Th ship was in great condition. The common areas were great. I wish there were more specialty restaurants on the ship like the Mexican and sushi restaurants on the sister ship navigator! I love the layout of the voyager class ships. Big enough for a promanade but not too big. I love the understated elegance of the ship!! Our cabin steward was really really good. He was always early, used the make up room card perfectly. The waiter in Chops grille was fantastic. Overall Great cruise but do prefer Bonaire! Read Less

Originally wanted to stay in Puerto Rico for a few days. The hurricane cancelled those plans for us. The islands we did visit. St. Kitts, Antigua, St.Lucia, Martinique, Barbados were all beautiful and the people friendly. Easy to find a taxi driver to take you were you wanted and made sure you were going to a safe beach, etc. Our focus was water activities, swim , snorkel, surf and jet ski. Our granddaughter had a wonderful time. She had tears in her eyes Friday night. Sad we were leaving and asked when we booking this cruise again. If you have children, the Kids Club is a must. They will be begging you to go. The water slide and other water sports on the ship offer ample activities. Food is good, service excellent and adult entertainment in evenings. The cruise line shuttled us from airport to ship. Given the magnitude of the task it went smoothly. Just be sure your flight leaving is at least in the afternoon. We chose this cruise because even though it was the tail end of the hurricane season, the Southern Caribbean is rarely involved, so we chose San Juan as our departure port, with stops in Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, and then St. Maarten. There were 8 people in our party, my parents (in their early 70's but neither look or act like it), my 2 siblings and their spouses, and me and my husband. Well, after 85 years, hurricane season did attempt to mess with our plans; however, our cruise went off without a hitch with just a small port change of St. Maarten to St. Kitts. Our flight into San Juan went very smoothly. Our transfer from the airport to the ship took a little time, but was very organized and the staff made sure we knew what to expect. Once on the ship we arrived at our cabin which was spotless! Our room attendant, Charmaine, took fantastic care of us and our room. We also had some pretty great towel animals waiting for us every night when we arrived back at our room. We did experience some pretty high winds and waves the first few days at sea, so Charmaine made sure I had what I needed due to seasickness. As far as the food, I had read previous reviews of the Windjammer and was a little nervous that the food wasn't going to be very good; however, the food selection and taste were great every time we visited.....which was a lot! Our main room dining each night was terrific!! Our waiter, Sasikumar, and our assistant waiter, Putu, were phenomenal!! We looked forward to each dinner due to not only the food, but to both Sasikumar & Putu. Our family was treated like we were important as soon as we arrived at our table. We were well taken care of for our main room dining each night. My family thoroughly enjoyed our time on this cruise that we had planned since June 2016. The process off the ship went just as smoothly as getting on. We were pleasantly surprised that getting ourselves through Customs, picking up our luggage, and getting to the airport was very well organized. With all that San Juan has had to deal with, Royal Caribbean worked hand-in-hand with the San Juan airport to make our entire embarkation and debarkation process seamless!! Our family had a fantastic time and made many unforgettable memories......thank you!! Read Less

We chose the cruise for it's ports and two sea days. Unfortunately hurricane Irma and Maria had other plans. Our favorite island St Maarten was hit very hard. We kept checking the internet for updates and Royal was very quick with letting travelers know what the plans were. First, I would like to say how proud I am of RCL for their humanitarian efforts with aiding those in need. RCL has been our cruise company for the last 25 years and have enjoyed the trips immensely. This trip on the Adventure I went with saddness. The devistation on the nightly news was overwhelming to me. I felt guilty being able to enjoy myself. Those thoughts left me when we landed in San Juan and actually spoke to people who lived there. They are strong and resilient people who plan on rebuilding and moving on! Much of the island, outside of San Juan , is still in bad shape. With that being said, majority of the people on the Adventure were from Puerto Rico. I had heard that RCL gave them a deal for the cruise which was wonderful! We had a great time! The staff on board was excellent! Everyone was smiling and caring! The ship was clean, food choices good, excursions numerous. We landed in San Juan, met the transfer team and went right to the ship, embarkation was seamless. The service at table 517 main dining room was top notch! Lenice and Yan served us with smiles every night! The best bar on the ship was Schooner bar with entertainment from Chester! He is fabulous! We had a wonderful trip and are already planning our next RCL cruise! The Adventure is a great ship, furniture a little worn, but the service and staff make up for it! As per our cruise director Elvis, ciao ciao! Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the dates that it was offered. We celebrated our wedding anniversary on the cruise and had an amazing time. We travelled with our 2 children, ages 9 and 12. They did not go to Adventure Ocean as it was filled with Spanish speakers. We thoroughly enjoyed all the islands, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire. We thought that after those islands, going to St. Kitts was a bit of a downer but we understood it was a change because of the hurricane. We were transported to the ship as a compliment. That was well organized, we did not take the transfer from the ship to the airport as it was very chaotic. There was a coach bus that transported the guests, but the luggages were packed in a moving truck and followed behind the bus to the airport. Just imagine that you boarded the bus first and your luggage was loaded first on the truck and you are the first terminal at the airport! The time to remove all the other thousands of luggage before they get to yours would take a long time and the potential for missing your flight out would greatly increase. I suggest that a local taxi as a better plan. Overall, we had a nice time. We did notice that the food choices, they were more of the same most days at Winjammer. I think that some revisting of the menu choices must be done soon. The staff were more or less ok, no issues for us. We had my time dining which was perfect for us. That selection just made the entire time more relaxing instead of being stressed if we missed our scheduled dining time. No issues with the servers there as well If I may, I found that the photos are a tad expensive. Since there is the digital option, the prices for the prints could be less and if a digital package is purchased, as a bonus, give the selected prints as well. The selected prints are already printed and instead of trashing them, offer them to the guests. Aruba had the longest time in port and was very appreciated. We toured as a local and was able to sample cuisine without being rushed for time. I would highly recommend Zeerovers, as a restaurant for lunch stop if you are seafood lovers. The shrimp were freshly caught and deliciously served on a deck that extends in the sea. The fish is fresh and you choose the size and it is fried and served with sweet plantains and french fries. an absolute must do venue for food. We headed to Baby beach for some swimming and snorkelling in the clean, clear water. Very beautiful sun kissed white sand beach, torquoiuse water and chairs for rentals along with a bar for drinks. We shopped in the port for our souvenirs. The staff was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. We wanted everything that had Aruba written on it! Overall, we had a good time and can't wait to cruise again. Read Less

This was our second trip and she looks lovely. One thing I would like to note, with all the passengers on this ship we never saw any trash except for glasses that we, the guests, sat on the floors in the hallways. I think that is amazing and they were cleaning all of the time. I especially liked the cleaner who was washing down the hand rails in the stairs. We were in cabin 7360 and our steward was Denton who was amazing. We had a family who had a second cabin in which their children were in and the kids liked to sit outside in the hallway and make a lot of noise. I finally got out of bed and told them to keep it down as we were trying to sleep and they just stared at me. Where were the parents? If you do not want to watch your kids, then leave them at home. We chose my time dining this time and made reservations before hand for 6:45. This time worked perfect for us and our waiters were Mario and Krishna. They were amazing, kind and friendly. I miss Mario putting my napkin on my lap and he tried to feed us so much food I gained 5 pounds. I finally told him my pants hurt and could not eat all of it. The food was really good and all staff on board were friendly. We did the Mystery dinner again and the food was good but the mystery was the same. We did most of our excursions from the boat and had no problem with them and would probably do it this way again. Last time we did the drink package and this time we did not, we did order the water for the room. Overall, we met nice people, had great weather, good food and tons of fun. We are planning to try a different ship next time but would not hesitate to go on her again. Read Less

We sailed on Adventure October 14, second cruise after Hurricane maria. We were not at all looking forward to the cruise after the horrendous damage to Puerto Rico. We felt as though we had no right to go there taking a luxury cruise when people were suffering. However, not being able to cancel without losing money, we reluctantly went. It was one of the best ever! First we were upsold to an Owner's Suite from a Junior Suite. That was a lovely surprise! We flew in the morning of the cruise due to our hotel cancelling for the night before in San Juan. RCI provided a free shuttle to and from the airport. That was very efficent and it took us two hours from touchdown to boarding the ship. We had sailed Adventure in 2015 and it did not disappoint. The ship is lovely and it was apparent there were areas with new carpet, including our suite. We found our suite to be pristine. Our cabin attendant was the best! He was happy, knew our names and addressed us by them , we got towel animals every night and he went beyond his responsiblity. We were able to use the suite lounge and found the apps to be delicious and service fantastic. Our glass was never empty. We purchased the four specialty dining package, Chops was awesome and Giovanni's a bit disappointing. The crew of the ship was absolutely spectacular. We were greeted with a hello and smile from everyone we encountered. Huge kudos to RCI for offering reduced price cruises to residents of PR to get away from the stress in their lives for just a week. It was delightful to see the families and especially the children, enjoying themselves for just a week. We would happily sail on Adventure again. The cruise also opened our eyes to the plight of the people of PR and their need for tremendous help Read Less

This was our first cruise on Adventure of the Seas and it was awesome! We cruised with another couple and highly recommend this ship and the fantastic crew! The ship had just been redone and was excellent. Our breakfast in the lounge was perfect. The nightly shows were good, but the comedian that was on the ship was out of this world, especially his late night show - wow! I can not say enough regarding the crew, especially our Suite Concierge - Sucel Anderson. We needed to get off the ship early to catch our flight and she personally escorted us through all the lines right up to Customs. This was truly Customer Service to the utmost! Now, if you are looking for a GREAT excursion, when you get to Barbados take the Jolly Roger Pirate Ship. This is a four hour "cruise" around the island with a stop for snorkeling, cruising for a great buffet (the hamburgers are out of this world) and lastly a stop for free swimming and if your are chosen, you will walk the plank - arrr! And to top it off, ALL YOU CAN DRINK (including their pirates "punch") included in the price -yes drink ALL you want! This is an excursion you will never forget!! Read Less

We were on the October 7 sailing of the Adventure out of San Juan. We were the first cruise to sail out of San Juan since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico and all of San Juan. There was much stress and anxiety prior to this cruise because San Juan was a disaster area and the airport was heavily damaged and had no electricity at the time. Many flights were being cancelled and cabs, buses and other basic transportation were not in operation because San Juan's infrastructure and power grid was completely destroyed. Since the two cruises prior to ours were cancelled, we were able to board the Adventure on Friday, Oct. 6 and enjoy an "extra" day on the ship courtesy of RCI. They also provided free, safe transfers for all cruise passengers from the airport to the ship on Friday and Saturday of embarkation day and on the Saturday of disembarkation day. Once we boarded the Adventure on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 6, we were warmly greeted by RCI staff with cold water, fruit punch etc. Our rooms were ready for us to go to, but our luggage arrived later that evening. We stayed on deck 9, near mid-ship. It was very convenient for us to elevators, the pool decks and Windjammer Restaurant. The ship is very clean and beautiful with all its amenities. We loved the Royal Promenade on deck 5 and its shops, restaurants & sports bars. We especially loved the Café Promenade for those times when you needed a quick snack. Especially their awesome pizza. It seemed like we were in a large Las Vegas hotel. The 2 pools were very nice and staffed with life guards. The kids splash pad and slide were also cool for younger kids. Of course the Perfect Storm slides on the deck 13 were awesome for older kids and adults. The Flowrider was really neat to see people use, although we didn't. Our nine year old daughter loved the "Kids Club" also known as "Adventure Ocean" on the 12th deck. She spent a lot of time there through the week and met lots of friends. There were lots of kids on this sailing and our daughter loved it. The main dining room service and food was very good. The selections were good and overall, we enjoyed our meals each night. The service from our waiters and wait staff was superb, friendly and personable. We did catch a few feature shows in the Lyric Theater. We saw the dance show, magic show and some comedy shows. We also enjoyed the adult karaoke shows in the Imperial Lounge. Our itinerary was quite busy. We visited St. Kitts, Antigua, Martinique, St. Lucia and Barbados. We did shore excursions at all ports except Martinique. The weather was hot and sunny all week and a great time was had by all. I highly recommend the Adventure of the Seas to anyone who wants a great ship with lots of amenities and along with great crew and staff. Read Less

We have cruised on Royal Caribbean ships the last 3 years. This experience, despite Hurricane Maria occurring and altering the ports of call, was excellent, Special attention needs to be made of the Main dining room staff, in particular Noel our waiter, Ezra the assistant waiter, Marcus Gridan the maitre d' as well as our cabin attendant Fernando. The main dining menus were excellent and our food was the best we have ever had on a cruise. These men (and women) on the ship worked extremely hard for all the passengers and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The cruise line was also gracious to allow us to board upon our arrival 1 day early in San Juan as our hotel was destroyed, and they also made the transportation arrangements to and from the ship. Though the ship is somewhat older than the other ships we have been on, it was clean and well cared for by the staff. The entertainment was quite good also. The bartenders and wait staff on deck were also attentive to our needs. Overall an outstanding experience and we already booked next years cruise on Royal Caribbean!!!!! Read Less

We are loyal to Royal, as all our cruises have been impeccable. Right from the time you board the ship to disembarking. The ship is lovely and impeccably cared for. The service in dining room and bars is above par. The shore excursions are plentiful to choose from based on what you are looking for; from scenic drives to water adventures to zip lining.Entertainment on the ship is from morning to night. The compass provides you daily a list of activities to choose from. In spite of this nasty hurricane season; and Maria having ruined San Juan and several ports. Royal accommodated us in San Juan by picking us up and returning us to the ship safely and allowing us to use the ship early since hotels were closed to tourists. The substituted ports when St Maarten suffered extreme damage. In Spite of all of the things that could potentially have gone wrong, they made it all beautiful and they never dropped a beat for service. Exemplary!!! Read Less
