Main dining room food was disappointing. Windjammer restaurant food was excellent on themed nights. Service was excellent in main dining room and good in WJ. The temperatures in Maine and Canada were in the 40's and low 50's. Would suggest this cruise not be offered in early June but more like mid- June and later. Very good fitness area. Cardiovascular machines were good but a bit old. Weights were pretty good. Lots of treadmills. Wonderful production shows, and events. Singers and dancers were outstanding and someone remarked that they were 'Broadway' caliber. Staff was dedicated to excellent service and always friendly. This included dining rooms, guest services and, really, all over the ship. Shore excursions were not as good due to the cold weather but that was not the fault of the crew. All-in- all, minus the weather, and main dining room food, it rated a 4 of 5 stars. Read Less

We chose this cruise as an alternative to the same old Caribbean/ Bahamas.... This was a fantastic cruise even though the weather was cold. It was humorous seeing everyone scramble to buy sweatshirts and jackets in Portland and bar harbor. We did the Kennebunkport excursion. We really enjoyed all of the stories and history of the area from our tour guide Dotti. It was neat to see where president bush vacations in the summer. The whole area was stunning to say the least. Really made you want to live there. In bar harbor and St John's, we chose to walk around ourselves as there is so much to see and so many shops to go into. In Halifax, we went on the Peggy's cove excursion. The tour guide was excellent and really knowledgeable. I can't remember his name, but he was a retired science teacher and it showed! Peggy's cove was amazing, and you should see it, but there were too many tour busses for such a small area, which made it over crowded. The ship itself is immaculate and someone is constantly working to keep it that way. We found that the best food was in the wind jammer. Food was always hot, and there were so many things to chose from that there was no way to try it all. I can't see how anyone couldn't find something they like. They had a panini bar everyday for lunch, and dinner always had different items each day. The service in the dining room was spectacular and Joseph and kaixin really went out of their way to see that you had all that you needed. The food however was so so. A lot if the sauses were flavorless and the veggies a little undercooked. But still over all decent. And if you didn't get what you want, you can always leave and go to the windjammer which was open untill 9. Also the promanad had different little sandwiches everyday to snack on which was nice. Last year on the allure, they were the same every day and you got tired if it. The entertainment was top notch from the comedians to the bands. We spent a good deal of time at boleros listening to the bands. Our favorite was the elevation band. They played a variety of music. Arnie, Wilford, Jose, and Aileen never made you wait long for a drink, and we really enjoyed getting to know them and they enjoyed us as well, and wanted to know about our lives as well..overall I would definitely recommend this cruise. It was our best cruise ever, and that is saying something considering the weather was in the 40's and 50's Read Less

Check in was busy but organised. Windjammer restaurant was so full I picked up some pizza from the Cafe promenade on deck 5 and sat in the Imperial Lounge at the front of the ship until the cabins we're ready. Not many people had found this lounge. As I was on my own for this cruise, with a hand luggage case, I couldn't really go far until I got rid of my case, so annoying you cannot drop stuff off in your cabin. At 1.30 a lady appears by the cabins and said they were not quite ready but we could get in. Well, having seen them turn them around on changeover days in minutes, I'm not quite sure why they weren't all ready! My gripes. No cereal at cafe promenade nor the diamond lounge. I had to literally walk to the back of the ship in the Windjammer to get some cereal. No weetabix although the they did look for me. No orange juice at Cafe promenade either. Not a very good advert for continental breakfast. However, it's the first cruise for a long time that I've been on where they haven't run out of orange, probably because it was hard to find! Guest services basically said tough! As I was literally at the front of the ship and Orange juice and cereal at the back, I ordered room service for breakfast. Orange juice varied in thickness and sometimes items were missing but very nice people. Food in the Windjammer was good, but unfortunately cold at dinner time. They were always 5 minutes late opening for lunch and dinner and clearly food had been left out to get cold. I found going about 20 minutes later was best as they had bought fresh hot food out by then. Being a diamond member now has certain perks. However, it is disappointing that I had to ask for my free welcome gift for 2 days! Also had to ask for dressing gown and toiletries. Was handy that I could book excursions with the diamond Concierge, Christopher who was fabulous. Also enjoyed the complimentary behind the scenes theatre tour. Shows were disappointing. One night there wasn't a main show. The Elton John tribute act sounded nothing like him. The show was 7pm yet they kept letting people in at 7.30 pm which was very annoying keep moving to left people past. They should close the doors and remind people of the times, after after all, there was a later show! The comedian on the last night was very good. Cabin was lovely at the front of the ship, tucked away down a short corridor. Good views out front. Cabin steward was excellent. Although some aspects were disappointing, the service always stands out on Royal C and I love the layout of the ships and the activities during the day and eveing. I went for the ports on this cruise and was not disappointed. The flow rider is excellent, rock climbing wall, sports court, table tennis, swimming pools, jacuzzi. The soft serve ice cream was good fun. Johnny Rockets nice place to go for small cover charge. They have added water shutes which overhang the ship - scary but fun. So much for people of all ages to do. Portland, Maine, USA - plenty of local sight seeing tours and far cheaper than the Ships tours. It was a very long walk off the ship over the walkway bridges just to get to the pier but plenty of shops. Tourist information very helpful. I took the local trolley tour of the city and lighthouse for $28 - ship was charging $55. Not many restrooms in Portland, was directed to the coffee shop over the road. Even the lighthouse park only had porta loos. Bar Harbor USA - not sure there was a need to drop the anchor at 5.30am. Seriously, the noise would have woken the dead! Let's be honest it was so cold and pouring with rain that nobody in their right mind would claw off the ship at that time! An hour and a half later would have been sufficient. Ten minute tender ride in the local touring boats took me shore. Lovely restaurant on the pier and restrooms. Main shops literally just over the road. The shop on the pier was selling tours. I had opted for a Ship tour here to Acadia National Park. The time was changed twice since I booked before I left the UK. Unfortunately the weather was not good. The rain and cloud had set in by the time we got to the top of Cadillac mountain. Really a good guide would have gone straight up there and then toured around the park on the way down! The wind was biting at the top! St John, New Brunswick, Canada - docked right next to port (on the right side of the ship) although still quite a long weaving walkway off. Just outside the terminal building (restrooms in the building) is a white tent selling a wide variety of souvenirs and TAX free. They accept US or Canadian dollars. I didn't see any local tours unless they were further outside. Inside the building they were selling the same tours as on the Ship and they added the m to your Ship account. I purchased a 1 hour 15 minute trolley tour which goes around the city and to the reversing Rapids. I have to say it was way overpriced at $49 and was not value for money. It was the same price as the HOHO and I suspect that was better value. The Rapids were nothing special. I guess it depends on the time of day you visit but it's just fast flowing water, really not that big a deal as the hype! The zip wire over the Rapids was actually to the side of it and not over them. Halifax, Nova Scotia - port was on the left hand side of the ship. Nice view of a lighthouse to the right of the ship. Terminal building has lots of stalls which you pay in both Canadian or USD. They did say to check if you get USD back in change though. I booked the Ships' Peggy's Cove and Titanic tour. Lots of buses as clearly a very popular tour. It took half an hour to get on a bus. Eventually we left and went to the cemetery first. Our guide told some stories about some of those who died on the Titanic and showed us their graves and headstones. It was a long ride (45 mins) to Peggy's Cove. Nice views of the lighthouse and fishing village there. Of course there is a gift shop there too with nice clean restrooms. You can pay in USA or Canadian dollars but only get Canadian dollars back if you pay in USD. Disembarkation - I booked a tour and airport drop off and had to meet at 8.30 although the advertised time said 9.30. They explained in the lounge that this was to allow time to get off the ship, go through customs and get luggage. In reality it took 10 minutes to get off the ship. Tour was good, spent a lot of time in traffic as NY is a nightmare for vehicles. After just over an hour, we stopped to view the 9/11 memorial and local area for around an hour. The rest of the tour was driving past the sights including Central Park. We dropped off at 2 airports and eventually got to JFK. Read Less

Long time since Ive cruised & so close to home . Very nice crew & ship was very clean .staff very friendly Dont think main pool was big enough to accommodate all passangers & kiddy area too close to bars ,kids & adults in same pool with adults drinking in pool ,which was not aloud but rules were not enforced not an envirament for kid my opinion. Hard to get into pool way to crowded with kid being aloud to go into everything . Windjammer had good food did put the lunch food out at dinner a few time & even had it again at breakfast by then did look to appatizing to say the least. Who had the idea that ribs are something that belongs at breakfast after it being on at lunch & dinner the day before. I got a little annoyed when staff came up to you to sell you the speical dinning package ,its in your nightly itinerary sheets we know its their if we want to go we will book ,no need to be stopped nighty to sell border line harrassing not a good look for criuse line . We chose this cruise to save money buying flight tickets. Overall it was a great experience, we had fun. The staff was super attentive and friendly. The only down side was the amount of days at sea. I would have rather had another day in the Bahamas instead of stopping at Port Canaveral. And of course longer hours at the private island. Embarkation and disembarkation went smooth in every port of call. The ship was really nice with many stores. The only store missing was like some type of convenience store just in case travelers needed everyday essentials. Our cabin was very clean but dated. Dinning was great since we took advantage of tasting and trying almost every dish on the menu. Entertainment was great whenever we had time to make it to one. Since we had dinner at 8pm we missed a lot of 9pm shows. We did travel with our children ages 17 and 10. My youngest sons only complaint was that they did not have enough sports competitions and tournaments for his age group, they were mostly for adults. I would definitely travel with Royal again if the price is right and a different itinerary. Read Less

We were excited for the destinations offered - Orlando, CoCo Cay and Nassau. Unfortunately, there is not enough time to fully enjoy the Walt Disney World Parks based on the transfer time and length of time in the port of call (we spent as much time getting to/from park as we did at the park). As such, I don't recommend wasting your money the shore excursion to Disney or the price of Disney Admission on this route. Coco Cay was nice, other than the fact that it was cool, overcast and windy. It seemed like there were many activities, but unfortunately many were closed/canceled due to the weather (e.g. we couldn't rent jet skis because of the wind/rough sea state). The inflatable water park was closed because it was low tide which was disappointing. The SCUBA diving was good and the staff was helpful. Food at Coco Cay was good (same as on the ship) and free. Nassau (Atlantis) was awesome if you are into water slides and beaches. Lines for water slides were nearly non-existent (longest wait was 5-10min). Beach chairs were plentiful. The Aquarium was amazing - wish I had known about the interactive Shark experience before I got to the park. Be sure to bring a credit card, because most kiosks at Atlantis don't accept cash for payment. As far as the Adventure of the Seas: Pros: the staff is awesome. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Our cabin steward waited on us like we were royalty. The food in the main dining room was great. The Windjammer (buffet) was amazing - huge selection of great food and staples every meal. Casino was nice with cheap tables (e.g. $1 roulette, $5 blackjack). The shows were awesome. Cons: Casino had many slot machines that were not working. There are weight restrictions for water slides and rock wall. Several of the video games in the arcade were not functioning or broken (steering wheel wouldn't control the car). Only one of the self serve ice cream machines worked which lead to long lines. The disembarkation procedure is chaos and needs significant improvement. Read Less

The embarkation and disembarkation was very very smoothly. Because I was traveling on previous years, I know the ship very well and it is very nice to travel on it . The cabin is spacious and well located, also, the service is pretty good. Related to the dinning room, It was exceptional located and best service is offered to guest. The maitres was very frendly with my wife and I. The are a lot of activities on the ship to entertain youth and older people, all activities well organized. I have to mentioned the good service on Windjammer and service desk were the Serv Rep were very frendly with my wife and me. Its important to mention that the ports of PR, St Marteen and Cape Liberty are great ports to visits were Royal caribbean has a lot of excursion available for all. Wit probability if we go to a cruise on next Dec 16, 2018 (4 adults and 2 children) we select the Freedom with new port in Puerto Rico. Best succcess Read Less

My wife and I were in a junior suite, 6392, at the aft of the ship. This room is considered an obstructed view. Yes, there are things that may “hinder” your view, but I was still able to see the water and everything else that a normal balcony could see. The food was excellent and awesome how you can try multiple things at dinner in the main dining room. Room attendant was amazing and made sure to have our room service while we were out to dinner. My only gripe would be the internet and the bar service during shows or games (I.e. Bingo). The internet is expensive and out of a 5 night cruise, I waited till the 4th night to get and it still was $35 for one device (10% discount). The bar service during the theater shows and games was sparse to say the least. There were not enough bar tenders and view, if not none, attendants walking around and if you got one of the attendants, you were better off going to the bar yourself. Read Less

Can now cross off the ABC Islands from my bucket list! Embarkation- Our flight landed in San Juan at 10:30AM on Saturday 4/28/18. Took about 1 hour to collect our luggage as we shared the baggage area with another flight that got in about the same time we did. Got to the terminal around 11:45, onboard enjoying Lunch in the WJ by 12 noon. Food - We thought all the venues we used (MDR, WJ, Cafe Promenade, and Room Service) had good, hot, and tasty variations every day -MDR: we had My Time Dinning and the first night got table 176 which is level one in Sapphire right at the bottom of the stairs. Awesome Waiter VJ and assistant Manuel. We were able to reserve this table for every night for the duration of our cruse. Even with their new menus, we always had a good choice of Fish, Chicken, Pasta, Steak, and other meat/Beef options. My favorite dish was their Beef Short Ribs which I've never had before. -WJ: Could always find a seat, food very good and varied everyday. Good waiter/drink service -Cafe Promenade: Never more than a line of 5-7 people deep anytime of day we visited. Pizza ok, really good around 2am (lol). Good tasty sandwich selections, the Greek Salad Pita was awesome! -Room Service: Did it twice, delivered in about 30-35 minutes. Was hot and tasty, also had great Cobb Salad and you get a personal size Pepperoni Pizza that was better than from the Cafe. Voom Surf and Stream - We thought it performed much better than on our HOTS cruise last June, albeit with my Droid (but not with my daughters iPhone) occasionally freezing when coming up from Deck 3 to our stateroom on deck 10. I had to disable/re-enable wi-fi to get it working Stateroom - We had a JS #1340, starboard side, mid-aft on deck 10. New carpet and drapes. 2 chairs, a lounge char, and table on our Balcony. Cabin Steward Nickoli just ok, always saw him on his phone. A couple of times, he took till 1PM to refresh our cabin. Next door stateroom #1342 tried to flush something down the toilet they shouldn't have, and blocked all flushing for about 10 nearby cabins till Maintenance could clear the blockage. A/C worked really well. On our cruise, AOS always docked Port Side with Island views. Shows - They were good. Lyric Thereat was never full, we had Invitation to Dance, Jackpot, Headliner Marcus Terell (semi-finalist on America's Got Talent) and a couple of Comedians. CD Chris Brown was alright,, I think Magic Marvin should take over as CD. Quest and Majority Rules was awesome, Hot Art Ice show was good, though they just brought on new performers and they must have being getting used to the small rink and skating during a day at sea, as there were at least 3 falls and trips. Unlimited Drink Package - Anything over $12, you had to pay the difference. Could always order a Drink and a Bottle of Water together, or order two drinks showing 2 valid DX coded Seas Passes. Plenty of Bar tenders and waiter serving drinks onboard. Islands - Fantastic!!! We did our own exploring and/or renting taxi's for the day, JEEP for the Day in Aruba (run, don't walk from renting from Royal Car Rental in Aruba), and Zip Line from Rain Forest Adventures in St Maarten. Visited the Renaissance Curacao Resort & Casino, Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino in Bonaire, and the awesome Holiday Inn Resort Aruba - Beach Resort & Casino on Palm Beach, with them allowing ys to use their loungers on the beach. Our favorite experiences were renting a taxi for a 3 hour private tour in Curacao that included Hato Caves, Flamingos, and multiple stops for great pictures, finding the new Natural Cave Pool in Aruba, the Zip Line in St Maarten, that had fantastic friendly staff every where on the old Rockland estate property, and then spending some time on the Great Bay Beach and Boardwalk, renting two lounge chairs and umbrella right at the Blue Bitch Bar an Restaurant (great load Cheeseburgers and Rum Punch) Disembarkation - Waited one hour from collecting our luggage to clearing customs. Tip: Get in the line that parallels 'Gold Card' C&A members, they had two agents working who would also check non Gold members vs just one agent check all others. There was also a separate line for porters to help you clear customs. Post Cruise Stay - One night stay @ the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel. Great location in Old San Juan withing walking distance of a lot of attractions and sites. One the 2nd floor outdoor Dinning area, got to watch AOS sail silently off into the night at 8:30, on her reposition cruise to Cape Liberty, Bayonne NJ, and during breakfast Sunday morning, see the CCL Fascination right in front of us, and the Jewel of the Seas glimmering off in the short distance from the Pan America Pier. Overall, we loved this cruise, the islands, the staff we met, new friends we found onboard, the friendly locals we met, and our ADVENTURE we had in the Southern Caribbean! Read Less

This cruise was very enjoyable, the weather was wonderful and we met lots of great people. The only thing that could be better was checking into the port in San Juan. The lines where very long and it seemed like they needed to increase the staff. The food was OK in the dining room and the buffet. The entertainment was my highlight and very good. I cruised with Royal Caribbean before and didn't enjoy the entertainment but this time they really went above and beyond. The comedian at the beginning of the the week was very funny (we need to laugh people), the ice show was very entertaining. the game shows were interactive and loads of fun, the activity director knows how to have fun, but the HIGHLIGHT for me was the Tribute to Whitney Houston. This woman Stephani Parker is the bomb! She is truly the "Diva of the Seas". Not too many people can pull off one Whitney song but she had them all down pact! A huge thank you to Stephani for her presentation, entertainment and love for a great artist with her own sweet style! My group hopes we can see her again on our next Royal Caribbean cruise. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. embarkation at San Juan was long. We flew in the day of and when we got to the port there were two lines that were not marked well. One line for luggage and the other with no luggage. Once you stood in line to drop your luggage off then you had to go stand in the other line without luggage. The ship was clean and in the room you could smell the new carpet. The safety drill was very long and hot. they made everyone stand in rows on deck 5 while someone talks and demonstrates what to do which you couldn't see or hear a word. We ate at the Windjammer all the time and it was good. Entertainment on the ship started very late (10 pm) or later. We are morning risers so we didn't partake in that. We did a shore excursion at every port. We did snorkeling/ beach at every port. They all offered Rum Punch on the excursions. It is very good! St Maarten was a ghost town. a couple shops open but not many. St Kitts was great shopping, Antigua was fun! Do an excursionist there do wonder off the path. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had never been to the Caribbean before and we wanted to see as much as we could. It had a very busy itinerary with 6 ports. And we thought based on reading reviews that Royal Caribbean would be a good fit for us as first time cruisers. The dining experiences at the signature dining restaurants (Giovanni's and Chops) were fantastic! Very quiet and intimate and so delicious! Fantastic service! The main dining room (Sapphire) was adequate. The food ranged from very good to not great. I liked the atmosphere and service was friendly. WE were very surprised to really like the Windjammer buffet. Didn't think we would spend much time there. But my husband loved the variety and found the quality to be superior to some of the main dining room food. We did not eat at Izumi or Johnny Rockets. The promenade snacks - pizza, cookies, sandwiches, etc. were fun options and everyone seemed to take advantage of them in the later evening when the buffet was closed. Embarkation was super smooth. We got there early (noon) and didn't wait. Every day getting on and off for island days was also very smooth if not very friendly. WE always felt like cows getting back on board - barked at by all of the herding dogs to get through security - the only unpleasant necessary thing we experienced, every day...and long waits for elevators at this time of day. We were off the ship much more than we were on...not a lot of time to do the rec activities. We did utilize hot tubs (when we could find one to fit into) and the pool once. The one sea day we had turned out to be cold, so we didn't do water slides or any other activities that day. Ship was beautiful and fun to explore. Met lots of great, often international people. So many languages spoken. People of all ages represented, although it seemed that older couples (40-60's) were probably the majority. There were several families, mostly with smaller children. This was in April. Our significant low points (which will cause us to research another cruise line for the next trip): It is far from an all inclusive experience. You are nickel and dimed to death if you want to do anything. (drinks, wifi, included daily tips and gratuities). The spa was very over priced. And people are offering you things all of the time. We tried to give everything a shot as it was our first time, so we explored the shopping seminars and the art auction. They were such scams; it was unreal. I was embarrassed for RC to have them on there. The cruise director and team were high energy but also rather immature and all of the get togethers, games, competitions went to very suggestive places, rather raunchy at times, even though there were children around and an abundance of older people. Did not seem like the right crowd for such college level humor. Not appealing to us for sure. We only utilized RC for one shore excursion at San Juan where they took our suitcases on to the airport and we explored old town. They were there when we got there, guarded outside by one girl on her cell phone. Our suitcase did get rained on and its contents were wet including the book we had in it. We utilized Shore Excursions Group for all of our other 5 excursions, and were quite pleased overall. Some were definitely better than others because of the specific guide. We had a great time on our cruise. We will probably try another line to see if we can find a better fit. Read Less

We picked this cruise for the 5 ports and only one at sea day. We started in SAN Juan as we wanted to be in the heat immediately. Although the ship is showing its age in some areas, overall it was clean, well maintained and the crew and staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The dining room service was excellent, windjammer was easy to navigate and the food was what we expected as we had cruised RC previously. Getting on the ship was easy and we liked the fact that they had a wine store on location so that you could purchase your allowed 2 bottles of wine to take on board. Our cabin was a recent new addition in March 2018 and was all new. The ship is easy to navigate and not crowded like it was on bigger ships. As expected the ship allows smoking within the casino which is really the only negative thing we encountered. Entertainers were fun to watch and varied each night. Our port days allowed for smooth departing and returns and overall were well worth the visit. St.Marrtan is in rough shape and we spent most of our time at the beach. All of our shore excursions were booked privately as we found that when booking with RC you pay quite a lot more for the same excursions. Our sea day was filled with trying out the activities such as the water slides, mini golf, table tennis, hot tubs and watching the belly flop contest. Overall we had a great time and would consider doing the same size ship again in the future. Read Less

My daughter enjoyed all the kids' activity that was provided on the ship. The main dining room staff were excellent and the service was great. All our serving attendants from stateroom attendant to dining room and bar staff were so pleasant and knew our names immediately and remembered them. We looked at various cruises but liked this one because of the itinerary. We had a great cruise and perfect weather. We enjoyed the food in the dining room, our waiter, Luis took care of us and was very attentive. We felt the nightly entertainment was lacking. We went to the shows but more times then not, they did not hold our interest. We were looking for more music options in the evenings after dinner. My son was also disappointed with the teen club, he did eventually meet up with some kids but did not participate as he normally does on cruises. We were also not thrilled with the new location of the cruise port for Royal Caribbean out of Puerto Rico. My husband wanted to walk around Old El San Juan prior to departure but we would have needed to take a taxi to the area and it was more work than it should have been. We found ideas for the shore excursions through the roll call that we followed prior to our departure. Went to the Cruise Critic meet and greet and met another couple from Long Island who gave us some touring ideas on the various islands and with whom we shared a taxi back to the ship from one of the beaches we visited. My 3 sisters and I took a “sister’s cruise” because we all work hard and deserved it! It was the first time we have all taken a trip together since family vacations as kids. What a blast! I wished we had more time on some of the islands, but that seems to be a common gripe of many cruisers who just have a hard time dragging themselves off a tropical island. We felt rushed at times. Regarding excursions: we did a few. The Race excursion on St. Maarten was a waste of time and money. Don’t do it! It was rather disorganized and some of the clues weren’t current. You’d be better off spending your brief time on St. Maarten enjoying the beaches, shopping and exploring the town and other parts of the island, as time allows. On the other hand, the UTV excursion on Aruba was worth every penny. We laughed our heads off and it met our need for speed! Our guide, Mark, was great and we took in lots of beautiful scenery and got lots of pics that day. Snorkeling on Bonaire (Coco beach) was AMAZING. The cave tour was just “okay”. Nothing spectacular. On the cruise ship, my only complaints (and none of them are really that big of a deal) would be 1. My cabin complaint which is detailed below. 2. The pop machines are SCARCE and were often out of ice or being repaired, and the pop from the bars didn’t taste right. 3. The entertainment got a bit raunchy for me at times. Guess I was a little naive. Will know better next time, though some of the entertainment was quite good. 4. We never actually met our cabin steward. Guess I just thought we’d have at least some interaction. Overall, I was quite pleased with the cruise and would do it again. The staff was very friendly and helpful and it’s refreshing to see a group of people who at least appear to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Our servers in the Sapphire dining room, Raj and Kaixin, were fabulous and made sure we were satisfied with our meals. The food there was delicious. The other cruisers were pleasant and it was great to see such a variety of people (college age, families, senior citizens, etc) all finding enjoyment on the ship and islands and just having a great time. I’d take another cruise thru RCI. Read Less

The activities on the ship were well run, and a lot of fun. They did have a great balance of events in types in both English and Spanish. The ports we went to were great in the south-east Caribbean, and we were docked at each of them. The excursions we did through the ship were great values and a ton of fun. We did two of them and both were well run as well. The dinner service was excellent, and they went out of their way to meet our needs. I was pleasantly surprised with the buffet (Windjammer cafe) whose food was excellent for all meals during the day! The few issues we had were the main dining room's (sapphire) breakfast food and service. I love eggs benedict at that was the only place to get it on the cruise, but each time I ordered it the eggs were overcooked. In addition to that, the service at breakfast was subpar, with servers not offering us coffee, or pastries as they walked around and skipped us. The cabin was what you expect on a cruise, totally manageable space wise with a nice couch to sit on if you want. Having a window overlooking the promenade was very nice to make it feel more open. The only issue I had with the cabin is that when they had loud late night parties on the promenade we could hear the bass and a little of the music. It only happened two nights of the cruise and the rest of the time the room was very quiet. My wife and I were very happy with it as our honeymoon cruise. Read Less

In overall opinion the cruise is good but the food menu is poor. The meats selection is not good for my opinion. I was confuse because I did not known if the salads and pasta were the principal plate and the meats the complements. Too much foods with differents ingredients and strong tastes. I think that the foots must be provide by contries and choosing the must allusive of every region or country. For example Mexico the burritos and nachos, US the hamburger and chicken wings, PR the rice and beans, and so on. When I purchased the tickets for the cruise nobody tell us how was the package for shore excurtions, the packages of drinks. I believe that this packages should be explains with more details. Because in my case, if I had the general opinion of how these packages are. I would have bought before. Because the islands that we visit, does not have much to see by yourself. Read Less

I choose this cruise for the itinerary. 5 ports in the Caribbean. The ship was recently refurbished and you can tell. The carpets are new and clean. The chairs in many of the venues are comfortable. Even though I went during Spring break, the ship never seemed crowded. There was always a chair available near the pools. I found the crew in all areas to be friendly, helpful, and professional. Meals in Windjammer and MDR were of good quality. Awesome pizza, snacks, and desserts in the promenade. St. Lucia was the only port I found to be not "tourist friendly." There was a lot of traffic on the island. I felt like the taxi drivers took advantage of us. My shore excursion for this port was cancelled due to mechanical failure. Other cruisers had similar experiences in this port. Overall one of the best cruises I've been on with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

This was our first cruise and we must say it was fantastic. We found the staff to go over and beyond to make people happy. The deluxe stateroom with balcony was a great place to sit and enjoy the breeze late evening. The main dining room staff were right on top of things and the service was good and quick. The Champagne bar staff were so pleasant and knew our names immediately and remembered them. When they saw us arriving they would already have our drink served for us. The pools were small and cold but that is not unusual and once you were in and wet it didn't feel cold but instead very refreshing from the hot sun. All in all I would recommend this ship to anyone as the only thing we found not worth the money was the galley tour and only because they took too many through at once and you could not hear what was being said. Will definitely consider this ship when booking our next cruise! Read Less

The rum punch on board sucks! Drink rum punch while on excursion, especially Cockspur on Barbados. The Windjammer (self service restaurant) is fine. The quality of the food is lower in the Sapphire (main restaurant). Also, in the main restaurant, the clothing advice was not enforced. Some people appeared in shorts and t-shirts at a formal night while others wore suits and ties or tuxedos. The wines are OK. The main entertainment was not as good as I was used to but it's OK. It was a pity that the ship departed from many islands already at 5 pm. That means "all aboard" at 4:30 pm. Quality of cloths sold on the ship should be higher. If you buy rum on the ship in the ship's store, you don't get it during the cruise, only afterwards. So, don't buy it unless you want to take the liquor home. On the last day (day at sea), half of the hot tubs were closed for cleaning. They should do this over night. They start too early with disembarkation (at latest 10:45 am) even if you have a very late flight (e.g., scheduled at 7 pm). The airport in San Juan is not inviting at all before the security checkpoint. Read Less

General comments: We are fond of RC, we have been on four of their cruises so far. It's a good value and we can actually afford a grand suite. Fellow cruisers are varied in terms of age groups etc. and we like that, too. The Adventure has been refurbished and it shows. Staff are great. The food is not tippy-top-notch gourmet, but we are always pleased. The Worst of the worst: I will never take one of their shore excursions again. We have in the past, but this time was beyond awful. Total cattle-call, and the trip to the hot springs on St. Lucia was the exact opposite of relaxing (although the Spanish Galleon reproduction ride and crew were a ton of fun). All of the boats and buses that left the cruise ship arrived together, so you had a few hundred people coming to a small hot mud spring that would accommodate maybe a dozen at a time. We were literally shoulder-to-shoulder with a crowd slowly shuffling into and out of the hot spring. We also did a tour with RC to "Sting Ray CIty" on Antigua, again it was crowded as heck, although I don't blame RC, it was just the model of the provider to get a lot of people out there. Slightly less awful: RC has a "don't save a pool chair" policy that they simply don't enforce. This means that you have a choice of joining the throngs of selfish/unethical folks who nab a spot at 6 am on a sea day and leave their belongings for 8 hours for a 1-2 hour use of the chair, or find other things to do until users tire of their spot at 4/5 pm. Overall: yes, go, it's a good value, just plan accordingly and bring a bit of patience for tours or ship venues that might be crowded! Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had 32 friends going on the cruise and a lot of them were first time cruisers and like to party and have a great time. Had a great time we did a private catamaran and Sophie and crew did an EXCELLENT job, and half the price of the cruise ship. We all did the drink package and by Wednesday there was no Crown Royal or Budlight on the ship, pretty disappointing especially when the drink package was why we bought it, and the Miller light was out dated beer. I don't know what is happening with Royal Caribbean, but makes me wonder what is going on. We did a private catamaran in St. Maartan, and it was the best catamaran we have ever done in all our cruises. Sophie and her crew were EXCELLENT and the food was delicious. The snorkeling was not good but that is not there fault, and they made it up by parting and swimming. Read Less

The itinerary is port heavy but that is expected with a Southern Caribbean cruise. The islands are beautiful and well worth a visit or two, maybe three! The ship itself is an ideal size for my family, two adults, two teens. With the slides, flow rider, sports centre, shows, ice rink and a few other things, there is plenty to keep the teens busy. I would have liked to see some more organization from the teen club staff. I know teens are not always on board with participating but if the staff showed more interest, the teens might too. My two have always spent a large majority of the cruise while on ship in the kids/teens club or participating with the groups wherever they are. This cruise they barely went. A couple times they did, the event was not what was listed on the cruise compass. As for the adults, our two moans were the variety of food on the MDR menu. Please change up the appetizers every evening. The other was the trivia. We usually go to the trivia games as we participate and they are good for a laugh. Every trivia on the cruise was in the Schooner Bar and it was beyond packed. Not nearly enough seating and some of the seats are along a wall out of view from the rest of the crowd. Why not hold it in a larger venue? The headliner, Jeff Tracta was hilarious and El Gaucho was also enjoyed by all of us. Read Less

We booked this Adventure of the Seas cruise with a group of GoldWing Motorcycle people. Had 102 people in the group and enjoyed their company along with the events they planned. Noting that the ship had been in dry dock in January, we thought is was lacking in maintenance on little things. Like cabin door hinges that were loose, the safe numbers were almost worn off, the shower door leaked onto the bathroom floor and maybe a couple of other areas. Still, overall it was a very good cruise. Dining was lacking a good selection of dinner choices. Only had a few things on the menu that appealed to us. The steaks in the dining room could have been much better. They come either overcooked or undercooked most of the time. I personally like the chilled fruit soups and they only had that one night out of the 7 nights. All the shows were great and we enjoyed the Ice show the best. If I had to pick one thing that displeased us it would have been the Casino, The smoke was so bad that we had to leave the Casino almost as soon as we arrived. I was having a great deal of trouble even trying to get my breath while in there. We did almost no gambling on this cruise. They did not have a restricted area for smoking and people were walking all around with their cigarettes making it impossible to breath. It even could be smelled very strong near the entrances. We took two RCCL excursions, one in St Kitts, St Kitts Panoramic Drive. They had us packed in so tight that one person had to ride sitting on the cowling over the motor. The streets were horrible and very rough. The second was on St Lucia, Costal Cruise to the Pitons. This excursion did not tell you that you would have to swim, about 150 feet, to shore from the catamaran . There was no dock at the beach. We had picked these excursions because of some mobility issues. Other than that, we still have an acceptable time. We were displeased with the Park West Art Auctions. Have never been to any other auctions that went that fast. It was so fast you could not keep up with the type of artwork you were bidding on. That made it difficult to bid on things we were interested in. We do like the Eastern Caribbean Itineraries best. Still overall it was a great cruise. That was the reason for our 4 star rating and not a 5 star. Read Less
