The highlight of the cruise for me-besides the amazing food, onboard activities, and exquisite destinations- was the service provided by the cruise staff. Our servers became part of our family, our room attendant was always smiling and the rest of our service was prompt and professional. The weather was a bit overcast on one of the days, but there was so much to do indoors that it hardly mattered. A bar was only a few feet away at all times, and touch screens were available everywhere to keep you updated on all the different activities that were going on at any given time. There were comedy shows, dance shows, ice shows, health seminars, shopping and jewelry seminars, and so much more -those being my favorite events. There were always pools and hot tubs open when I wanted to swim, even late at night. My experience with the shore excursion desk and the general service desk were both very helpful and happy to refund and reschedule activities for me and my boyfriend. The ship was big enough and there were enough events in different areas that I never felt over crowded. The fun zone with an arcade, slides, and the wave rider were also personal favorites. Read Less

We embarked and disembarked at Port Cape Liberty is was the smoothest experience we have had yet. This is our fifth cruise. We were traveling with myself , my husband and my 12 year old son. It is a dated ship but a fun one. Our cabin was 7694 Junior Suite Aft. It very nice, lots of closet space, large balcony. Our room had a coffee maker and a tea kettle. I wish the coffee make worked a little better. Our Cabin steward was very friendly and helpful. he made sure lots of coffees, teas, hot chocolate, and creamers. We also had robes which was very nice, this port was a little chillier than expected. This room comfortable sleeps 3 and could sleep 4. My son preferred that the sleeper sofa remain open and made up as a bed. I am happy to say this room is large enough to accommodate that comfortable. We had a 4 night dinning package which worked out great. We did not eat a Chop's Grill because we enjoyed Giovanni's table so much and the staff their is exceptional. They are able to get you what ever you want to eat just let them know in advance, their pasta how ever is made fresh daily and is very good. We also did the "Murder Mystery" dinner which was very fun, I highly recommend it worth the extra price. Izumi's was also very good which was surprising since I am not wildly fond of sushi but theirs was very good. We also did Chef's Table , this is an extra charge but well worth it. Wendell was very knowledgeable about wine pairing.Dinning was very fun on this ship. All of are meals were eaten together and they are very good at accommodating children. Our big excursion off ship was the dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon. Best excursion we have be on yet. Worth the price. If you have an extra person to stand on shore and take pictures that's great but we all wanted to do his experience and fully enjoy it. They have a professional photographer there to capture every moment. The price was approximately $140.00 dollars for the pictures and video of the dolphin foot push. I recommend that everyone enjoy this incredible adventure and just plan on paying for the pictures to share the adventure with your at home family members. Fun trip would definitely do it again. My son is 12 and is considered a teen on Royal Caribbean. He really enjoyed the teen only adventures that were free on the ship so his advice is to look for those adventures. They will close a venue such as Ice skating or the Flow Ride to everyone else but the teens for one hour. he really enjoyed this. If you are planning on going on this ship enjoy your Adventure. We chose this cruise because flying wasn't necessary and we got a really great rate with perks on a Labor Day Special. The food was good everywhere with a good variety and always a great dessert selection. Being recently renovated, the ship's main areas were beautiful and also easy to get around The entertainment was the best with our favorite bring The Long Road which was an Eagles Tribute Band and totally sounded just like them!! We wish the casino had at least one Let It Ride table. My husband ended up playing other tables he didn't particularly like but the dealers Sergio, Ritchie & Sara were friendly and helped him out. My biggest complaint would be that you could not use the main pools or hot tubs as way too many kids were always in them,, thus making Solarium pool & hot tubs extra crowded. The recent refurbishment has made the ship feel new and the many lounges, dining areas, showrooms are beautiful! Rosita our Cabin Steward kept our room very clean and our Head Waiter Yunjiao and asst. waiter Jorge were very efficient, helpful & friendly. Can't say much on ports as weather was cloudy & rainy but spent a nice 4 hours on Cabbage Beach in Paradise Island in Nassau. Read Less

This was my fourth cruise in 25 years & my second time in a row cruising with Royal Caribbean. I don’t think I’ll ever choose another cruise line other than Royal Caribbean again! They do an incredible job! After a Bermuda cruise on the smaller “Grandeur of the Seas” in 2015, the “Adventure of the Seas” was a nice way to experience a larger ship. It wasn’t too much of a jump in size. However, this was my first time on a fully booked ship, which took a little getting used to (long waits for packed elevators, lines for everything etc.). But, after the first hectic day & after relaxing a bit, it was much easier “go with the flow” & be patient with the elevators & lines. It was also my first time trying “My Time Dining”, which also took some getting used to. Though after figuring out that you can (and SHOULD) make reservations with My Time Dining, & can do it for the same table & time every night for dinner, it was wonderful! As for other notes: *Ports: It IS possible to enjoy the ports-of-call on this cruise without booking an excursion. However, Cape Canaveral is just a port & you will need to take a taxi to get to anything on your own. They offered a very easy drop off/pick up service for $15 round trip per person (plus optional tip) at the stand right outside our terminal. The six-person cab will take you anywhere local, just ask. It was raining, so we only went to some souvenir shops on A1A & Walgreens to get toiletries we couldn’t buy on the ship, but it was still nice to get off the boat for a bit. One last note, the shops AND the casino onboard will be closed while in port at Cape Canaveral. Coco Cay requires a free (no tipping needed) boat ride from the ship to the island, but it is a must-see, private paradise (even in cloudy/drizzly weather). Just remember that everyone needs to take a boat back, so don’t wait until the last minute to go or you’ll wait in a long line! Nassau is lovely & has improved a lot since I was there 15 years ago. There was a lot of walking to get from the pier where we docked to the town, but there’s a free shuttle (tips suggested) for that too. *Handicap Assistance: My father traveled with me & has difficulty walking long distances. And there is a LOT of walking onboard a cruise ship. The crew went out of their way, every step of the way from embarkation to debarkation, to help. However, if you will need a motorized scooter onboard, you MUST make those arrangements prior to sailing. Scooters are not rented out on the boat through Royal Caribbean. Wheelchairs ARE available once onboard however, but I would recommend making those arrangements in advance too so they can be prepared to help you sooner & at the ports-of-call. You cannot take a wheelchair off the ship (though that rule must be flexible because we did see one or two off the boat). Overall, I would absolutely do this trip again & would highly recommend it. There’s a bit of a learning curve in the first day or so onboard, even for some of the crew it seemed (though mine was the very first sailing of this particular itinerary from NJ), but by day 2, things were smooth as can be, so don’t be discouraged if you aren’t thrilled on the first day. By the end, you won’t want to leave!! Read Less

This was our only chance to take a cruise before work commitments and was very much enjoyed. We will definitely be going again next year. Embarkation was very well organized and swift. The crew and staff were great, the food was delicious with a huge variety to choose from served fresh everyday. Our waiter and his assistant were great at recommending what food was being served and recommendations on what to choose depending on our appetite. Our adult children were kept busy with the entertainment on board the ship and were impressed with the amount of events to go to. The cabins were kept clean at all time and anytime we saw our cabin attendant he was quick to ask how we were and always had recommendations for entertainment on the ship. Disembarking from the ship went very smoothly. Definitely recommended for people who want to have a stress free and enjoyable vacation. Read Less

The shows where wonderful I caught the ice show the comedy show, I also seen a couple of dance shows and tributes and good bye shows. I loved the activities like the rock climbing, water slides, flow rider, basketball court, mini golf and pingpong table, and all the other things such as drinks and movies, I seriously recommend this trip to whoever is interested in going on a cruise ship its worth the money because I booked my trip with gadlins travel they really satisfied my 2018 Bahamas cruise vacation for a decent price. we chose the cruise because we wanted to try a different ship and also wanted a seven day cruise and not a 5 day cruise as that was the only one available on Anthem of the Seas. We loved the ship the food was great. We were especially impressed with the buffet. It had a great deal of variety and an abundance of food. The main restaurant was also great the food and service was excellent. There was also a great deal of shade available around the pool which is important for us. The entertainment was very good the comedians were great. We liked the promenade on this ship more than on the Anthem of the seas . There was more variety of food available after hours. Our cabin was very spacious for an inside room plenty of storage space, I guess because it was an older ship. The only thing we were not impressed with was the solarium which has a sky opening so when it is cold and the weather is bad you cannot seek refuge there. We love the Solarium on Anthem of the Seas much better. Overall we loved the Adventure of the seas and are taking it again soon heading to Canada and New England. We traveled alone but if you come with children there are many activities available and the pool area has sections specially for children of all ages. Read Less

Service & food selections at Main Dining was 5 Stars. Our waiter Yudistira and Assistant Waiter Jayprakash were wonderful, friendly, and very efficient like they could almost read our minds when we needed something. We were a bit disappointed with the Windjammer in comparison to the food at the buffets on the Anthem of the Seas. Entertainment was well chosen. We enjoyed the Eagles Tribute Band (The Long Run) Concert, Comedy Shows, Ice Show and 70's Night. Beautiful ship inside and out. Staff on Excursions were very friendly. The bus driver and hosts on our trip to Universal were very friendly. Unfortunately it rained on day for CoCo Cay. VIP Beach Day at Nassau was great although we wish the swimming area was larger and better groomed. Plan to cruise again on the Adventure but most certainly on RCL. We wouldn't hesitate to take the same cruise again. Read Less

This was our first time on a ship and we were both pleasantly surprised. From the initial boarding of the cruise until we disembarked the staff and service was fantastic. The line moved quickly and we were directed with friendly faces. After boarding our room wasn't ready but we were welcomed to explore. We walked through deck floor and spoke with some of the staff and looked at all of the decorations. The ship had just been updated and it was beautiful. Once our room was ready we went out to explore. The pool areas band was great. The atmosphere was lively and even though the bar was busy they were attentive to everyone. The ship was clean and well maintained. We visited several of the restaurants including Giovanis, Izumi, and the Saphire room. The food was delicious and the servers were great. Throughout the time we had Ben & Jerry's and Starbucks. At night the entertainment was fantastic including the 70's promenade with the staff. The crowd was excited continued to party into the night at the deck party. I greatly enjoyed our time and have already recommended this ship to others. I've already begun planning our next cruise with Royal. Read Less

We took a January cruise on the beautiful Oasis and the Adventure is every bit as beautiful but understandably smaller. I was not disappointed. I specifically chose this 5-day cruise from San Juan, PR to Bayonne, NJ to enable me to reach Diamond status. I needed 9 cruise points and the Jr. Suite was priced low enough to book which gave me double cruise points for the suite. This was my first suite and I was amazed how much storage was available. We had cabinets we didn't even use thanks to the large walk-in closet with a wall of shelves! Also a tub/shower. We flew in to San Juan from Dallas arriving around 1pm. We opted to take a taxi from the airport to the pier for $26 set fare and were able to split this cost with another couple we saw at baggage claim. Easy embarkation and departed for St. Maarten at 8pm. The cruise made only this one stop and we took a $6 cab ride from the pier to the courthouse in Philipsburg, and from there walked up the beach "boardwalk" to a bar called "Pirates 'n Paradise" and when we saw the Ohio State flag and sign, we had to stop since my wife is an alumni. We sat at the bar overlooking the boardwalk and the beautiful beach for a beer and some great people watching. The next 3-days were at sea and we enjoyed the food and entertainment provided. The ice show was spectacular and the other singers, dancers, orchestra, comedian, and juggling act were great to watch. Advertised activities were popular for the variety of guests. Food was good. We usually ate breakfast at Windjammer and coffee was excellent (strong) whereas one day, we ate breakfast at main dining room where sit-down service was slow and coffee was weak. Main Dining room dinner was good and service generally excellent. We only had two gripes. On the last sea day, we could not access our in-room TV services menu to review our bill. When it was delivered the final morning, there were two errors overcharging us $222 which required we wait in a long line at guest services to get resolved. They could have used more representatives to help. After that the walk-off disembarkation in Bayonne, NJ went smoothly until we exited the cruise terminal building for a fairly long walk to the Taxi shed in a parking lot across the potholed street. We had looked online earlier for taxi fares rather than using Royal Caribbean bus service, and the taxi was "supposed" to be about $38 from the terminal to Newark airport which would have been a good deal. There was a severe shortage of Taxis. We were told to get in the only one there and he left without us. They called for another cab and one finally arrived and as we were loading luggage we were told the fare would be $65 plus toll. We went ahead and took the ride for $70. The RCI bus would have been about $59. By the way, Uber and Lyft were also a possibility, but we never expected the complete lack of taxis and the "fare jacking". I only wish we could have had someone to share the taxi with us. Read Less

Wonderful experience and crew was all about customer service The crew actually was smiling and happy which is very contagious. Keep up the good work Adventure we will definitely be back on that ship. The last night at the adult karaoke there were a group of kids heckling the performers. Many people walked out. Just when I wondered why Royal was allowing this the person in charge reminded everyone that we are there to have fun and only kind words should be used. Yay!! That put an end to the heckling without punting out the hecklers. Good job Royal. We flew to San Juan to board the ship. Awesome Boat, Crew and Experience. Went with friends and the time of our lives and mission accomplished! The Adventure is one of our fav ships and her sister The Explorer. Embarkation was a breeze the cuisine was admirable. We had a wonderful night in the Schooner Bar. Comedy Hypnotist was a terrific hit and the Ice Show wasn’t too bad considering a first run and standing ovations. Only disappointment was missing the dance show our first night at sea. We love the A B C Islands and look forward to visiting again. St. Maartin is always our fav, even with all the devastation around the island since last years Canes. Made sure I restocked my J W Double Black. Giovanni’s never disappoints and the Jammer was a good as ever! There’s never anything better than crashing into the crystal azure waters of the Caribbean! This ships staff is markedly better than normal at being committed to serving the customer. When customer preference issues arose the ships staff and supervisors worked quickly to satisfy the request. Security seized our surge protector with no warning. We are diamond level and have taken many cruises with RC and this never was a problem. However, we were provided a loaner power strip(with no surge protection) for our voyage. No lines on the ship! Embarkation and disembarking were simple, efficient, and well communicated. Coffee machine was always broken in the Diamond Club, but coffee was arranged on deck 5 through special arrangement with Starbucks. The menus were okay, but if you’ve cruised as long as we have you can really tell the decline in the sofistication of the meals and the “refined” level of service. The DAILY taco station was a welcome Suprise; however the placement of the ingredients needs retooling. You can tell that a non-taco eater designed the assembly station for tacos. The shells were served stale, the meat was at the end of the line instead of at the beginning. This required guests to get in line to get started with a shell, skip all ingredients until the end of the line, then re-enter the line to put the lettuce, tomato, cheese and other ingredients in the taco in proper order. Once we brought the stale chips to the attention of upper management they fired up an oven to heat the stale taco shells to restore crispy ness to them. However, unless you asked for this service you wouldn’t know it was available as it wasn’t advertised. If your a lover Of romaine lettuce You are OUT OF LUCK on this ship! None on the entire cruise!!!! Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room needs a complete overhaul. The menu is sparse, food is substandard and served cold! Read Less

Our first two RC cruises were on the Oasis and Allure. We were used to the "big ships", so were a bit hesitant choosing a smaller one, but this was the only ship headed to this itinerary. Once we got on board, worries were set aside once we realized the size of the ship was still quite large. This ship was renovated in January of 2018, so nothing felt outdated. All cabins have been refreshed with new carpeting and linens, as well as new furniture/couches. Although the cabinets are the same, this is a good thing because they offer a TON of space. Lots of drawers and shelving space everywhere. Also, I LOVE the fact the balcony is "enclosed". No frosted glass divider between you and your neighbor like on the Oasis class. It's pure steel and feels very private. Staff was great, and we had an excellent stateroom attendant named Wilfred. We did My Time Dining, but were fortunate to have the same wait staff every night. Lynton was a great waiter and worked incredibly hard. Food quality was also decent. We were mostly impressed with the Main Dining Room offerings (especially the appetizers) which were all very good. We ate at Izumi (new after the refurb), their sushi bar specialty restaurant, which was also very good. The staff there is SO FRIENDLY. I can't say that enough. All smiles. During the renovation, they also added two water slides, a flow rider, and updated their mini golf area. All were a lot of fun for two 27 year old best friend females. We like getting to act like kids every once in awhile. :] The only negative side to this cruise was the embarking and disembarking process specifically in the San Juan, PR terminal. There's NO AIR CONDITIONING in this large steel barn-like structure and everyone is herded around like cattle and it's very disorganized with lines in awkward places and people everywhere. I understand RC doesn't own this terminal, but that made the beginning and end of the cruise awful. Read Less

Our First cruise which we mainly selected for the destinations. There's so much room on board and there was no claustrophobic feelings, which I did expect to happen most of the time, but there are so many things to do on board that passengers were spread out all over the ship. Our compact cabin was surprisingly actually quite roomy and arranged in a practical way, and our room attendant was brilliant and provided extra daily delights with the best towel-folding! Soooooo much foooood! Lovely food for all tastes. Themed dinners were really good! Tip: if you can, plan to go to dinner or lunch about an hour after the restaurant opens as it got really busy in the first hour. I know most people want breakfast first thing so they can get off the ship first thing, but for the other meals on my next cruise, I will wait for a bit. There was also a Starbucks and Ben & Jerrys on board! My only area of concern and gripe was the Royal Caribbean trip to the BREATHTAKING SOUFRIERE & WARM MINERAL BATHS. For those of you expecting a warm soak in a natural sulphur and clay pool, this will not be the case. My family was there under 10 years ago and those man made pools were not there, and my daughter has photos of herself in the rocky clay pool!!!! We raised a complaint when we returned to the ship and are actually trying to get this trip refunded for misrepresentation. Royal Caribbean are sticking by the vendor and despite many other tourists also opting out of going into what looked like a sheep dip, with stagnant water in modern angular pools, they are insisting that the French built them a couple hundred years ago!! We suggested that RC go take a look themselves as they may not be aware of what they are promoting. We also said that they really need to include photos so people can make informed decisions about wasting their precious Shore Day watching other people go in and out of a sheep dip for 15 minutes! You have 30 minutes tops to get changed, line up for a shower first, soak in the stagnant water, get changed and meet at the souvenir shop. it was 5 hours there and back, no water was offered to the passengers in that whole time and we did not stop for food and were not advised to bring our own snacks. Long day for little rewards. Not cool ☹️☹️☹️ and as a world traveller, it literally was the worst tour I have ever done. The tour guide knew her stuff though and was very engaging and funny. We meet so many great, new friends at all the bars, lounges and entertainment activities. We loved the laughs at the Adult game shows, poolside challenges and scavenger hunts, the fun times at karaoke as well as the morning zumba classes. The Blue Moon nightclub was always a great way to end the night, the Resident Dj was fabulous and the bartenders were so friendly and wonderful. The food and dining expensive is always so yummy and delicious and great service all over. The wifi was the only the thing we had troubles with. We thoughts it was very expensive per person per day in our family and did not need to be. The presentation of Stephani Parker was amazing, singing songs of Witney Houston. Delicious food and the singer's on board are excellent too. Good quality music and entertainment. I think they should have more beverages packages options, for example one package for beers and wine only. I think RC had it a few years ago. And it is not fair that all people in the stateroom has to buy the same package when not everybody drinks the same things. Another detail is that the whole week I was waiting to go to Aruba and for weather rearons we couldn't go. The company didn't substitute the island for another or gave some credit for future use. I was really sad because that was my star island to visit. I think they should compensate in some way. Besides that, the experience was excellent. Read Less

We like Chops and Giovanni restaurant. The highlight of the cruise was definetrly the Chef’s table. Yessss! We recommend this cruise ship, and look forward to sail again in the near future with RCCL. Smaller than the Oasis but very nice as well. Read Less

This was my fifth cruise on Adventure of the Seas and first time after upgrade of the ship. The new Suite Lounge is now on the 14th Deck and without a doubt the best Suite Lounge in the fleet, as the new Lounge was just relocated and completed 8 weeks ago. Ship appears to be very new since the upgrade and new color scheme stands out from stem to stearin. Great crew throughout and well mix of people on the cruise . Grand Suites and gold card service is the only way to go, you may pay more but the benefits and preferred lines are well worth the expense. Absolutely no waiting for anything , no lines and no hassles. The services as a gold card holder are VIP from start of the cruise to the finish as you leave the terminal. Already booked again for next year, can’t wait. Read Less

Wanted to travel to the eastern Caribbean and have traveled before with Royal Caribbean cruise lines. Accommodations were excellent, clean room and well maintained. The room steward was excellent on keeping it well stocked and clean. The food on the entire ship was unbelievable. Main dinning room was just like a five ***** star restaurant. Food selection was more than enough. The Buffet was also in for the same rating with the variations and choice of foods. Carving stations with a great selection. can't say enough good things about the entire experience. Shows with a full orchestra singing, dancing and Ice shows that rivals any thing you could see in any major city Sports of all types , Basketball rock climbing wall and wave action surfing pool. all types of entertainment. A couple of years back we went with another cruise line and it was miserable I am now a devoted Royal Caribbean customer for any cruise I take in the future . GREAT STAFF - GREAT CRUISE - GREAT ADVENTURE. Read Less

This was a family vacation with a group of 10 of us exploring the Caribbean. Some were experienced cruisers-the rest this was the first experience. Manoj and Dinah in the main dining room were FANTASTIC! They took such good care of us. Maria was our cabin attendant and she did a great job as well. Loved the towel animals! The team in the Windjammer was pleasant and made sure we had what we needed. So attentive! The food was delicious and the portion sizes just right. The shore excursions were fun and well organized. Watching a movie, outside, by the pool-under a clear sky with sparking starts--lovely experience. As someone who's worked in the hospitality business for over 30 years, it was a pleasure being taken care of by such wonderful team members. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and eager to make our experience wonderful. Great job team! I'm sure you'll see me again sometime. Read Less

From the boarding process through baggage handling and the first hours of our trip we were extremely surprised and satisfied. It only got better from the food to the family environment to safety and security. Did I mention the food quality and delight? Off the hook!! Highly recommend the Royal Caribbean lines for anyone’s cruising experience. Cleanliness is the word on the conditions maintained. The concern and coaching for sanitary conditions I am certain contribute to the maintenance of health on board for cruisers and staff alike. Well done! We were also impressed with the variety of activities, the entertainment in and around the immediate pool areas and the supportive and smiling staff. I remain hard pressed to imagine anything negative about our first trip and look forward to our next opportunity to join some 4500 best friends we have yet to meet! Royal Caribbean has set the bar high for all future cruising considerations! Read Less
