My husband "won" this cruise in a sales incentive program through his company. It was a fully paid trip, other than our excursions. We did not choose our own cabin, and ate all dinners but one in the dining room with other people from my husband's company.
Embarkation was quick and easy. When we arrived at the ship, there was the customary photographer there to record the moment. Our room was ...
Boarded the Adventurer of the Seas early Sunday afternoon Feb 19 ....wow RCCL
you have to get the port San Juan more organized...Being a Diamond member quickly saw a preferred luggage check in and looked for the preferred check in line (was hard to even see past 100s of people waiting to board....Hugged the side of the building and found NO line and actually checked in less than 5 minutes...WHAT ...
We are a couple in our mid 60's and this was our 7th cruise, two on Carnival one on Princess and the rest on RCCL. This cruise embarked on 2-12-12.
We used Priceline and got the Intercontintal for 3 nights precruise. The room was quite small and after a few trips to customer service they upgraded us to a larger room the next day with no charge.
After all the negative reports about Pan ...
We arrived by taxi at 1:00 PM to board the ship. We had three pieces of wheeled luggage (aircraft overhead compartment size) so we choose to carry our luggage on board. The line closest to the street is the check baggage line. We went directly to the processing line. The line was fairly long but went very quickly. There was water and lemonade for people waiting in line. The hold up in the ...

This is our 6Th cruise and our friends who traveled with us was their 3rd. We flew out of Newark and stayed at the Newark Wyndham Garden which I highly recommend for a Park and Fly Hotel. Left on Friday morning and arrived in San Juan at Approx 2PM. Stayed at the Intercontinental and would absolutely stay here again without hesitation.
Checked out on Sunday morning to a waiting cab and arrived ...
Boarding: we got to the pier around noon, dropped our luggage and went to priority line, which was not too long. We were with friends and in the shade so we talked and time passed quickly even though we were all looking forward to board the ship. Doors opened at 1:00 p.m. Once the doors opened it went rather quickly, we were on board by 1:25. All in all, better than I expected considering the ...
Where do I start!? Let me first say that I read hundreds of reviews here before our trip and always found them to be very helpful, so I hope this will give you some insight into our experiences and maybe others can learn from our them.
Pre-Cruise:
We flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday and arrived at approx. 7:30pm. The airport was virtually empty, so it was very easy to get our bags ...
GENERAL INFO:
Please read through to the bottom where I have posted comments about cruises departing from San Juan.
We arrived in San Juan 3 days before so we could tour El Yunque national forest and Old San Juan and I highly suggest arriving at least the day BEFORE your cruise if not earlier. Just remember that choosing a hotel is like paying taxes in the United States: you get what you ...
We sailed on the Adventure of the Sea Jan-28 / Feb 4, 2012. This was our 3rd cruise overall in the last six years. Our first cruise was on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the seas and the 2nd was on the Dawn Princess. Both the Adventure & Explorer are in the voyager class. They both have the Royal promenade, with parades & duty free shops, one of the reasons why we decided to return. Overall this ...
