We chose to go on Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas because we had been on this ship before and liked the size of this ship. This is the first time we booked a jr suite, but from now on that is what will be booked. The extra room is worth the money. We especially liked the walkin closet and the bathtub. The Suite was well taken care of. Dining is always Great and the entertainment and activities are Great! We could not have asked for better Service. Ports and Shore excursions are always available and easy. We have another cruise booked for next year!! Our room attendant, Alexis was the best and our waiter Diosdadojr and assistant waiter Dhiraj were the best. Can't wait to go on another Cruise. Hope the experience is as good as this one. I have not been on a bad cruise yet!! The only way to vacation as far as I am concerned!! Read Less

Our itinerary departed from San Juan and sailed to Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba, and St Maarten. We had a balcony room which had ample room for myself and 3 adult children. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We took a smaller ship this time and it was fantastic because we became much more familiar with the staff and ship. We are beach people...and these were the most beautiful beaches and water we have ever seen! Bonaire is incredible!! Beyond words how beautiful and simplified this island is and we have been to many Caribbean islands. I traveled with my 2 adult children and regardless of age, there was very much to do at every port. The food, as usual was fantastic. whether in the Windjammer or the main dining room. The staff regardless of where you were on the ship was exceptional as usual on Royal Caribbean! I cannot wait for our next cruise. Read Less

If the room attendant does a great job of making towel animals I was tip extra. the wife can't cruise without seeing her towel animals on the bed, sofa, etc. The head waiter we saw only once, the waiters were excellent. The boarding was excellent. We had a suite and it was very nice and the floor was quiet. The cruise director was only average, but she could speak several languages. The ship was clean, and we've sailed on The Adventure several times. The Islands have recovered nicely, but are not 100% back. The food was good, not great, again the service was very good. Mu wife enjoys the spa's and had several spa treatments. I had fun, didn't get rich in the casino, the staff was friendly. The they handles an over served woman at our three card table well. We love RCCL and hope to sail again in several months. Read Less

The Adventure Of the Seas is a good ship considering you're 16 years old. It has varied itineraries. I am a person that I really like cruises and I can't say that the Adventure has been the best cruise I have ever made in my life. The quality of the food in the main dining room is average and the Communication with The Empleomania Filipino or India is not easy. The rooms are OK, As for fun you should consider traveling with a group. Don't do it alone unless you are one of the people who likes to talk even with the shade. Fun for Kids it’s not bad but for example the Adventure Ocean It is not very frequented by children for at least 8 years. The alcoholic beverages package have good prices just like the one in the photos. The Empleomania, in general might be a little More Generous or sympathetic Read Less

We chose this cruise to enjoy New Year’s in the Caribbean. The staff, level of service, value for money were high points. Quality, taste of food in Main Dining room needs improvement. Too many bland dishes, Little creativity in food variety. The main stage entertainment nights that featured the ships singers and dancers as a group were more like Vegas Lounge shows. The two female lead singers had great voices and did not need dancers. The two male lead singers should be replaced with younger singers and the shows themselves need updating. The Eastern Caribbean islands we stopped at especially Antigua and Barabados will bring us back to stay on each island for a few days. There was no information prior to the cruise about any theme nights, we only found out once on the ship, too late to bring any special clothes. I think we will try one of the newer RCL ships which may offer more of what is weak on this ship. Read Less

10 family members cruised (many for the first time) for a family holiday. The destinations were all awesome, even St. Thomas (even though it was clearly sad to see the devastation is still rampant). The stops were very appealing and we chose this cruise because of its ports of call. They did not disappoint. Pros: This is a large ship with a lot to do. It is clean and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you are having fun, your drinks are full, and you are entertained. Of particular note was Gloria, our room attendant, who treated us like family. We felt sad that she had to miss Christmas with her son. She was amazingly pleasant and warm to us the entire time. The islands were awesome - every stop exceeded our expectations. Chops was delicious, but insane that you have to pay more money for satisfactory food. The entertainment was fun, especially the game shows and karaoke, which is always fun to watch. Guest Services staff (all but one who clearly does not belong in service) were excellent and some even went above and beyond the call of duty to help answer our questions. Embarkation and Debarkation were a breeze, and extremely organized. The Captain and Cruise Director were very visible and informative, as well as entertaining. We felt safe and appreciated. There was a huge range of ages in our group, and the range of activities and amenities was perfect. We felt that the teens and young adults were all adequately entertained and generally safe throughout the ship. They certainly had a great time! Cons: There should never be just one person at the excursion desk. The cruise made several last minute changes to things we booked a long time ago, and there was no choice but wait in a ridiculously long line. There were 5 people at Guest Services twiddling their thumbs, and one poor guy helping passengers with excursions. This is unacceptable. People cruise to visit islands. RC needs to make sure they don't waste precious vacation minutes and hours requiring unreasonable lines to set up excursions or solve problems they did not cause. Royal Carribbean is average at best in terms of vacation planning. In fact the mistake they made with us is inexcusable. 4 people in our trip learned (ON THEIR OWN) 3 days before we had to leave - in the busiest time of year - that their flight had been cancelled back in October! NOBODY at Air2Sea ever contacted any of us and they did not even start to find another flight until we called them. It was an absolute nightmare. In fact, 3 of us spent one entire day on different phone calls to get this fixed, and the flights that were left were horrible. That said, we asked RC to provide some kind of compensation, and after telling this story to 4 different people, each person in our group received $100 on board credit. The only problem was that it WAS NOT ALL THERE when we arrived, and the account was all messed up. Ultimately, they shorted us $250 of the promised on board credit and we had to file yet another complaint about this to get it back. The problem was that we could not use it onboard by the time they solved it, so it is supposedly being refunded to a credit card. That was not the intent of the credit and several people never got to use it for anything. In all, I found representatives at RC to be extremely inconsistent with they way they regarded us, and that was very disappointing. It was so disappointing that we may not use the RC again. We just felt like cattle and numbers, not valued passengers. The food at Windjammer was barely edible, and I am not picky. The eggs were runny and slimy. The selection never varied for breakfast or lunch and it just felt like a mess hall. It was gross. The food in the dining room was inconsistent, but mostly bad. On Christmas Day, 4 of our dinners were nearly ice cold, and 1 dinner never even came. On later evenings, we decided to order multiple starters because they tended to be better than the meals. I would say the fish selection was pretty good, and the desserts were mostly good as well. The café had serviceable pizza. It was fine. We did not try Johnny rockets or Giovanni's. With as much as this cruise charged for everything, it was just plain wrong to look for more money for simply decent food. We did try Chops, and it was great. But, that level of food should be the standard on a luxury cruise. I understand this one experience for many of us may be an anomaly. Others in our group claimed that there was a significant and noticeable degradation in quality from previous RC voyages, where the food and problem solving were superior. Ultimately, before I cruise again, I am certain I will do a lot more research about lines and ships before spending my money on a reputation that may no longer be associated with a luxury experience. We chose this Christmas cruise as our company closes over the Christmas period and this was one of the destinations available. Overall we had a wonderful time. Our stateroom was lovely and spacious. Food choice was amazing and alcohol served were top brands. Ship was very clean indeed and we were constantly encouraged to wash our hands to stop infections. Also numerous anti bacterial hand gel stations. Embarkation was smooth considering how many people boarded the boat. We were encouraged to go and eat lunch while we waited for our luggage, overall it took three hours to arrive at our cabin. One suitcase was held back as it contained a travel iron from an earlier portion of our journey. This was conviscated and I was able to collect it on disembarkation. We had to leave our luggage out for collection at 11pm the day before departure. Labels were provided to attach to the suitcase so you knew exactly what zone to collect it from. Very straight forward. Numerous tours available at each port both by Royal Caribbean and independant operators. We sampled both and found the independant ones better value. We did not book them in advance either, but be warned they only accept cash. I was unable to use my own internet throughout the whole cruise and had my suspicions confirmed that they block your service so you have to purchase Royal Caribbeans service, which I think is an outrage. I would like to see Royal Caribbean stop the promotion of animals kept in captivity for the enjoyment of the tourist industy i.e. the dolphin push. If it were a conservation project or breeding program I would have no objections, but this was needless crulity.. Read Less

We went on this cruise 2 years ago and had a wonderful magical Christmas experience. Not so this year. Very little traditional Christmas music playing, obnoxious cruise director, loud parties and events, stressed out staff members and much more. It felt like the cruise had evolved into the younger crowd party boat and very few middle to upper-age guests were fitting in, or even wanting too. We sure didn't. Several of our excursions also had the same raucous environment, including loud rap music, silly and stupid antics from excursion staff and cheap lunches and poor quality drinks for the price we paid. The ship did not have the attention to detail that we remembered 2 years ago. For an example, we loved the snow flakes falling in all the marquee signs in 2015. Also there were more elaborate decorations and all the lights working. Not on this year cruise. Overall disappointed. Read Less
