Carnival - a downward trend

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Pride

This was our 11th cruise, 4th on Carnival, and 3rd on the Pride. Our last Pride cruise was in September, 2013. Overall, another really good cruise. In some ways, however, we noticed a negative trend in a number of areas. Pros: 1. Chef’s Table – one again was spectacular! Informative, interesting, and LOTS OF GREAT FOOD. The ship advertises a 7-course meal; but that 7-course meal is ...

The Best Cruise Ever

We only cruised once before on the Imagination which was wonderful and the Pride beat our expectations. We live on the Cheaspeake Bay and watch the Pride go past our house every Sunday night so we decided we wanted to go. We had the best trip . From the housekeeping, (Sotopo) to the Serenity towel girl (Lorelei), to the dining hostess every night for 7 nights, (Diana, Alina, Abbey, Anike) to the ...

This is our 3rd cruise with Carnival on the Pride. We drove in on the day before and stayed at the LaQuinta in Glen Burnie (do not advise any one to stay there, their staff is very rude). Check in to the port was smooth and went very quickly. The wait to board was not long at all. Once on board when we arrived to our state room, Empress (6 deck) an interior cabin, cleaned and ready for our ...

We have cruised about 15 times, mostly with RCCL and the rest with NCL, and Princess. This was our 3rd time with Carnival. Neither of the other Carnival Cruises left us with a fabulous impression likely due to mitigating factors such as weather and itinerary, so we had relatively low expectations going into this cruise but wanted to give Carnival another try. Boy am I glad we did, because we had ...

Last Minute Get Away

We have been on 6 cruises prior to this one and was somewhat skeptical about taking another Carnival cruise, was on the Splendor out of New York in 2013 and it was such a disappointment, the ship really needed an overhaul form top to bottom. This trip was a last minute decision and decided to go for it, we were pleasantly surprised as to the friendliness and cleanliness of the Pride. Embarking ...

There are only two things that keep this ship from being a excellent rating. First, and most importantly, they decided to refurbish the main pool during our cruise so it was closed on the two days at sea, you would think this could be done at a better time. The two other small pool were so utterly crowded you couldn't even enjoy deck sunbathing at sea. The entire duration of the cruise had at ...

Son's Wedding Cruise!

Let me start by saying that they did an awesome job with the wedding....the food, decorations, flowers, cake and service were just awesome! Tho the staging and everyone getting in the terminal could be a little better directed for dropping off luggage and the people just coming to the wedding but not cruising...it was quite a fiasco, lets just say. Quite rude folks there at the Port of ...

We boarded in Baltimore and port was easy quick and we were ready for sailing. We were in cabin 8139. Surprised of the size of the cabin, larger than expected. Balcony was wonderful. The cabin out dated and needs some updates. T.V was an older model with the big backs and they charge as much for a movie as my home for a 52in flat screen with HD. Furniture very out dated. Two plugs for use and one ...

I just returned from my third cruise and have always booked a balcony room. I love to set and relax and get away when I didn't want all the activity. I love the balcony early in the morning even before the sun is up for morning devotional reading on my iPad, nothing better for me than to be out when the sun comes up. I have only taken summer cruises to Bahamas. This is my choice and I traveled ...

Never Again On Carnival!

We are first time (and now last time) Carnival Cruisers. We are frequent cruisers on RCCL and are Diamond status....so we know what to expect on cruises. This ship did not meet any of our expectations. Overall appearance of the ship is just plain dreary. Would be a great set for the Munsters TV series. Funeral curtains, dark dingy lighting and gaudy cheesy decoration. Not to mention that all ...
