First of all I would never of thought I would write a review but after this trip I felt it was necassary to share some information . We are 3 familes that travel every year and this was our first time together on RCCL. We are in our 40s and children are ages from 13- 18. Lets first say that our kids were bored . There was close to 500 teens on board and only 2 activity coordinators for these kids. ...
We traveled with six people to celebrate daughter's HS graduation. We booked three cabins, one of which was balcony, all on deck 6 aft. This was our 5th RCI cruise and our 9th cruise as a family. The positive for this cruise was the embarkation point. Being from Denver, we spent four extra days in NYC before the cruise. The port was nice and accommodating, but construction is being done in ...
Just came back from our 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise. This was our first one out of Bayonne...
The ports are a lot prettier in Florida, let me tell you... Bayonne is downright UGLY!
Embarking the cruise was fine...smooth sailing...as they say...Disembarking was absolute HELL...No organization what-so-ever on the ship...I give it a 2 out of 10.
The Pool Area-a little disappointing; the pools ...
Our family of 11, six adults and five grandchildren ages 13-22 just returned from the Explorer. Although we all had a great time, and thanks to the Captain for avoiding Hurricane Arthur, Royal Caribbean needs help.
The ship which is going into drydock shortly, certainly needs it. The public spaces such as the dining room and promenade are still quite lovely....but the cabins, pool deck, public ...
My wife and I just returned from a 9 day cruise on the Explorer to Bermuda, St. Martin, San Juan, and Labadee. This was our 5th cruise with Royal Caribbean, and was one of our best. (I am 71 and my wife is 64) I had read horror stories to the effect that the ship was deteriorating and falling apart. It actually is in pretty good condition, other than some paint flaking on our balcony. Embarkation ...
I won't bore anyone with a long review, so her it goes.....Cape Liberty port is disgusting, but you're not there that long so no bigeee. Parking was $171.00 for (9) days. The ship is definitely outdated and in need of an overhaul. It's very 90'sish, colors are old and our room had a box TV. We were never in the room, so it was easy to deal with. Our stateroom attendant was awful, she was never ...
I just returned from the 9 night Bermuda/Caribbean cruise on Explorer of the Seas, and my family and I (husband, daughters ages 9 and 6) had an amazing time. My husband and I have been on over 20 cruises (Royal, Celebrity, Carnival and Norwegian) and the kids are veterans as well, once or twice a year since they were babies. I especially felt the need to write this after reading negative reviews ...
First, a little about us. Family of 5 from Indiana-3 teenagers. Cruise at least once per year. Diamond members on RCCL, but we also enjoy other lines. Having been on multiple cruises, we usually book based upon ship rather than itinerary. But this time, we booked ExOS to allow a visit to Bermuda.
Based upon many negative reviews on this site, I was concerned about the condition of the ship and ...
This review is not intended to imply that the Explorer of the Seas is a bad ship, it is in almost every way...mediocre. The ship is in dire need of a refurbishment which is happening later this year. In the meantime the cabins have dingy carpeting, chipped fixtures and a bit of a musty smell to them. They are adequate and functional but somewhere around a Best Western hotel room by comparison. The ...
My wife and I have sailed on Royal Caribbean several times before and are Gold Members. Last years trip to the Western Mediterranean was amazing with a few small glitches. This years 25th anniversary cruise aboard the Legends of the Sea to Bermuda was absolutely horrible and after speaking with other passengers, I find we were not alone. I booked this cruise as a surprise for my wife’s and I 25th ...
