First off this was my 2nd time on RCL, 7th cruise overall. We had two cabins an Inside and a balcony room
SHIP- The ship it self is starting to show its age, but you can tell crew is trying hard to make sure she still looks beautiful. She is a little bigger then a mid size ship but no huge like some of the new ones. The ship is easy to navigate around. The royal promenade is awesome, wish ever ...
This was the first time sailing out of Bayonne. Our group of four consisted of two 18 year olds, a 52 year old mom, and an 80 year old active grandma. We live in Brooklyn so Bayonne turned out to be super convenient. Traffic on a Thursday morning was not too bad and we arrived at the port in about 45 minutes. Embarkation was relatively smooth and we were aboard ship by 12:45. Went directly to the ...
If you like cruises in general, this review is not for you. We went on our first cruise to be able to visit three new countries while still having a toddler with us.
Husband, wife and 9 month old child. This ship is not meant for kids under 3 years old. (Almost) every singel day, we had to convince some of the staff in a restaurant to help us heat up the baby food. There is a play room, which is ...
Overall, Royal Carribean did a good job. This wasn't the quality level of 10 years ago on RCL but it was still OK. Compared to Carnival, RCL still has it beat. The Explorer of the Sea is getting dated but it is still a capable ship. The stabilization system is getting old and 4 foot seas were challenging it, maybe the stabilization system was inop. The crew was friendly as always and the food was ...
The port is nice to travel from but alittle unorganized. Got on the ship and found the wind jammer packed with very seat taken. Since I cruised on the larger ships ( allure and oasis) for the passed few years, this ship seemed to be small and actually less crowd organized. They can learn something from the larger ship. The crew did work hard to make the cruise enjoyable but I think it's hard since ...
We just got back from the latest Explorer of the Seas cruise. I had not read any of the other reviews prior to our departure, as I did not want to be influenced or prejudiced by them. I must say, I am glad I did not, but have to agree with many of the negative points that were brought up. The majority of the issues we had with were with the infrastructure of the cruise, not the service. I must ...
My wife and I took a 5 night cruise from Cape Liberty, New Jersey on the RC Explorer of the Seas. The cruise left on a Saturday so getting to the port was not a problem, a 2.25 hour ride from northern CT. Parking was easy but a little pricey at $19.00 per day. We arrived early so the check-in process was quick and painless. It didn't take long to start the shuttle process over for boarding. The ...
Cruise 8th to 17th May Having been cruising for 12 years I have seen the steady decline in that time of the offerings on cruise ships. Gone are the after dinner mints, the bedtime chocolate and the first class entertainment.
Bayonne, New Jersey: The cruise terminal is under construction so embark/disembark occurs thru the old wharf sheds. Peak time is between 1100 and 1300 so try to avoid ...
We sailed on the Explorer out of Bayonne NJ with some friends on a short 5-day cruise to Bermuda in May. The weather and the sea conditions were near-perfect. I guess I should have read some more of the reviews before we "seniors" booked this cruise. The ship was too big, too crowded and too noisy for our taste. We spent many hours waiting for elevators as the proliferation of baby strollers took ...
Left on a Thursday out of Bayonne - very easy embarkation. I love this port. It is only 45 mins from my house so we drive and leave the car in the lot. Never had a problem. Since this was the only ship leaving that day, the crowds weren't bad and we were on the ship by 11:30.
This was our 2nd time on this ship and I will am sad that she will be leaving the Bayonne Port. The ship is so pretty and ...
