We chose to take this cruise because we had never been to Cuba. The cruise included a full day and evening in Havana. The other two stops were not of real interest to us since we had been to both many times. Havana was very interesting. We have visited other Socialist countries but non as depressing as Havana. Yes, there were all the brightly painted 1950's-1960's Chevorlets to brighten the ...
To go to Cuba.
Two of the things that are disappointing on Norwegian cruise ships are the quality of their entertainment and food. I have cruised on Norwegian at least 10 times and noticed each year the down turn in their entertainment and food. They have their own group of entertainers that they use almost entirely. So if you don’t mind watching the same individuals several nights, then it ...
We chose this cruise because it went to Havana. We had a credit from our cruise from hell (New Years cruise from New York that decided to cruise through the bomb storm) and had to use it this year. There were many things about the Breakaway before the storm that we disliked so we went with trepidation on the Sun. It was a fantastic cruise in so many ways. Rooms were very close to elevators. ...
I searched cruise to Cuba-
One other choice is 4 days cruise includes overnight stay in Cuba but flying down from NY to Miami for 4 days cruise seems too short Cuba, I choose this cruise for main port Cuba which is the highlight of this cruise ... really wishes overnight stay in Cuba available so we can experience more of the country’s economic and cultural.
First port supposedly Bahamas got ...
What a great cruise: great ship, great ports, food was good, entertainment was excellent and lots of fun activities. The cruise was not crowded, so there was no waiting anywhere and it’s the first cruise I’ve taken where you could use the pool and deck chairs with no wait due to too many people. Our cabin was great: perfect location and size, and excellent Steward. We loved the ports: Key West, ...
First time on NCL and it wont be my last! The Sun may be an older ship without some of the newer bells and whistles (water slides and go karts) but the uncrowded feeling was amazing. Instead of 4000+ people we only had 1700. No lines, no waiting for tables, bar service beyond quick. Great itineraries and Cuba a big plus. The food was beyond excellent, and the fact we had free drinks and free ...
We had some credit left from our Irma NCL Escape cancelled trip from a year ago. Used it on the mid September NCL Sun voyage to Cuba.
Embarkation and Disembarkation was easy and well run. 20 to 30% vacancy level meant no crowds all week in any lines or venues.
Ship is older but the recent refurbishment was well done. Inside and out, the ship felt brand new. I suspect we have done 30 ...
The Ship was beautiful, clean, and it had great service, the staff is very friendly and the music goes every night until midnight. I was in cabin 10-108 which was the biggest cabin I have ever been in at sea. The main dining room has excellent food and service. the buffet was excellent on the first day then was great the rest of the cruise. I would recommend you skip the Cuban night at the ...
We were on the Sun in March, before it went into dry dock, and I would have rated it a C+. After dry dock, the ship gets an A-. Every part of the ship was updated and upgraded. Buffet is still small, but it looks much nicer. Teppanyaki was doubled in size. Le Bistro was brought into this century. The food, overall, was a B+. Entertainment was a B+. Staff service, and especially our cabin ...
This was our first time sailing with Norwegian. I did have some concerns leading up to the sailing after having read some of the reviews, but I had nothing to worry about.
Embarkation and Disembarkation were easy. Consider doing the self-assist disembarakation if you can manage it. Self-assist is the first group off the ship. We were off the ship and cleared immigration in minutes.
We had a ...
