Fun times on the Carnival Spirit

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Spirit

Where to start... well the anticipation was killing us by the time we called the taxi to take us to the International Cruise Ship Terminal (ICST) in Sydney for our 2-2:30 pm embarkation schedule. We dropped off our luggage and spent probably 15 minutes in a line filling out a customs declaration on the ground floor of the ICST before going up to Level 3 where Carnival had their desk setup for ...

We are first time cruisers with my husband and myself in one cabin and 15yr daughter and 13yr son next door cabin. Found the whole process of boarding very smooth and quick - we opted to the first boarding time of 3.00-3.30pm. Very smooth process. Had already organised my Credit Card details through the website - so the only thing we had to do was to swap my husband and daughter from one cabin ...

I'll start by saying that I am a frequent cruiser and this was my 50th cruise overall. Mostly with Princess and P&O Cruises (UK and Australia). Carnival have just started cruising out of Sydney to the South Pacific and to New Zealand. My friend and I stayed a couple of nights before at the Sofitel in Sydney before we embarked on our cruise. Our hotel was close to the terminal, and we could have ...

Carnival Spirit - Sydney to New Caledonia (Noumea, Mare, Isl

This was our first ever cruise and after picking up a number of ideas from these forums before the trip I thought it only fair to add some of our own. We did the 8 night 7 day cruise from Sydney up to New Caledonia with stop offs at Noumea, Mare and the Isle of Pines. CHECKIN AND BOARDING Having checked in online, we arrived at circular quay too early, as they don't let people into check-in ...

As a family with a young child we were looking for a fun family orientated cruise, with the recommendation given to us that the Carnival Spirit would meet our wishes we were very happy with our holiday. Here are our thoughts & opinions of what we experienced: EMBARKATION Very well organised, quick & easy. Our boarding time was for 12:30pm and we were sitting down having lunch with a ...

My wife and I went on the ‘8-Day New Caledonia Cruise’ on the Carnival Spirit in April 2013, which included Noumea, Mare, and Isle of Pines. Check-in/Getting on the ship Check-in or getting on the ship commences from noon. Each cabin, or stateroom as they call it, is allocated a particular check-in time. Our check-in time was 1.30pm to 2pm. They were stricter than P&O about check-in time, as we ...

Like most on this site we have very little negative comments to make about the Carnival Spirit. We've travelled to the US for vacations and actually liked the American influence this ship has. Since this ship arrived in Australia, we understand that it has always left full. If it was no good, you would see empty cabins. Even with a full ship approx 2200 guests and 920 staff, you did have a ...

WOW.... As first time cruiser's and after reading the mixed reviews here and on other websites we really did not know what to expect. There seemed to be people that either loved it or hated it, and nothing in between. Well I can tell you that we LOVED it!! Any one who enjoys beautiful ports, amazing staff who care about passengers happiness, and more food than you could ever eat are going to ...

From the moment we booked it was all smooth sailing :) This was my first cruise and I was away with just my girlfriend. We embarked from Sydney and it was seamless. As soon as my family and I arrived helpful staff took my bags and I was able to enjoy my goodbyes without the stress of luggage :) We had a late boarding time of 4-4.30pm and it was incredibly fast. We were on board in no time and ...

Highly enjoyable cruise with something for everybody. Check in and boarding, effortless and hassle free. First impressions were good, the boys, twins 17 and youngest 12 were very impressed. We had three balcony cabins on Deck 7. The cabins are clean and adequate with plenty of storage space. One comment was that the couch was covered in a peach vynal, which just looked cheap and tacky. Hinged door ...
