Mixed Feelings about Carnival Spirit.

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Spirit

My review of Carnival Spirit cruise, travelling as a solo, balcony room, South Pacific in November, 2014. I was not prepared for the number of children on board. I know that Carnival has a big family base but I thought that as I was travelling out of all states' holiday periods that I would see few kids on the cruise. I was wrong; cruise was about 40% kids. As my balcony room was near a ...

Never again Carnival Spirit

Never again will I sail on Carnival if Carnival Spirit is any indication of the rest of the ships. The ship is old and tired and very much in need of refurbishment. The décor is old and jaded and the upholstery on the chairs, stool and couches is worn and dirty. If that is not bad enough the towels in our stateroom were grey and worn instead of white. We had one small cake of soap for two people ...

This was our first family cruise. Myself, hubby and two boys 7 and 4. Embarkation seemed to run fairly smoothly. Our room was an Ocean Balcony room, level 8, I thought our room was nice, our room steward was lovely and made a towel creature each night, a nice touch. The meals at the buffet I found to be average, there is something there for everyone so no one can complain about that but the ...

After having a gut wrenching experience with our Sea Princess New Zealand cruise being cancelled on 29 September this year (same day it was due to leave), I spent 6 hours on the internet looking for another cruise. I was fortunate enough to get my parents and my own family booked on the Carnival Spirit for a 9 day cruise from Sydney to the South Pacific Island return. Thanks to my wonderful Travel ...

First of all, we are both in our late 60's and celebrated out 45th Wedding Anniversary on the Ship, on the first night of sailing. Friday 17th October, 2014 I don't want to go over all the information that has already been said, because if you are like me and have never been on a ship of this size, I hope this bit of information and explanation help you prepare for your trip. EMBARKATION You ...

Review of Carnival Spirit Sydney to New Caledonia 17 October 2014 Reason for cruise: coincided with a birthday, and the price was brilliant for a ‘guaranteed’ balcony. We have sailed 7 times before on P&O Australia, Royal Caribbean and the longest was 5 weeks on MV Discovery (a very small ship in comparison, under 800 passengers) Our concern was how to deal with 2600 passengers, a vast number of ...

This was our first cruise so of course read multiple reviews good and bad but went on board with an open mind. The ship we thought was easy to navigate, the food sensational where the reviews the food was cold, bland etc came from I have absolutely no idea. The food was fresh, hot, varied and always easy to access be it in the buffet or the Empire restaurant. We went to Empire every night if we ...

We usually cruise with Princess, but decided to branch out and try other cruise lines. I am so glad we did. For the money we normally pay on princess we were able to afford a suite on Carnival Spirit. (See cabin review below) 4226. We arrived at the airport to be greeted by a Carnival rep. We did have to wait an hour for other people to arrive and were ushered to the bus. We were given our ...

my family and I have been on the Carnival twice already and both times our cruise were most memorable. In 2013 we were on a 14 night cruise and then again in 2014 a shorter 9 night cruise and our kids loved every bit of it. from the amazing balcony cabin on deck 8 to the vast expanse and choice of food. the kids especially loved the kids club and we barely got to see them throughout the cruise ...

Carnival Spirit - the Kmart of cruise ships

I won’t talk about the embarkation process or the cabins or any of that stuff because it’s all been gone over many, many times before. However, what I will do is give first-timers a heads-up on what to expect if they, like me, have an aversion to any and all forms of douchebaggery. Before we get to that, I just want to point out that the Carnival Spirit was absolutely spotless. There were hand ...
