First cruise and perhaps my last but the experience wast terrible. To start loud noises and rockus accured all hours of the night in our room. Feral children run rampid. Same days we got an itenerary of events and other days we did not. I tripped one night and fell into the toilet (yes the bathroom is on step and many people I've heard his happened). Customer service was all of he place some employees really tried to help guest while others didnt care. I think communication overall was tired. The rooms we very very small. The premium wi-fi ($51) was less than edge most of the cruise. The rooms never swept and the hallways dirty. It definitely wasn't worth the price. Food was the best thing. Gym is 3. I would like to see weight bar. Part of the resonbility falls on the guest too (again very load guest not sure what was going on or if it was fluke) . Read Less

This was my first cruise and I was not impressed with this one. Let me start with the only positive. Ease of getting on board was fairly simple. The ship is extremely old and outdated. We had an ocean view room with rusted windows, bathroom reeked of urine throughout our stay and the shower never drained properly. The staff was borderline rude and they weren't the friendliest. Once we got the key to the room they had a meeting that took place at the muester stations. The staff member literally knocked on our door once and before I could answer they used a key to burst into the room which was very disrespectful and wrong. What if I had been naked or my children? No one spoke clear English and forget asking a staff member where something was. They seemed to never could explain or give proper directions which was frustrating as the ship was very big. The food was hit or miss. The only good food was at dinner time but it was never hot. The servers at dinner were the friendliest throughout the entire ship. The food served daily was ok but there were times where some were closed and hundreds of people on the ship would be left standing in long lines for food at breakfast and lunch time. Watch out for the charges to your account! There were so many people that complained about extra gratuities and the guest services lines were always long. Forget trying to call guest services from your room it was always busy or they simply never answered. The bathrooms for use throughout the ship were always dirty and gross. Feces left in toilets, tissue everywhere and urine on the floors and the staff never seemed to care. They would clean all around the ship but would not clean the bathrooms as often as they should have been. The pools seemed rusty and the water always looked dirty. It was literally thousands of people aboard the ship so you would think they would keep everything stocked but their were times when the ice cream machines weren't working, cones weren't stocked and the lemonade that they offered was not filled on some machines. You literally get what you pay for! Pay more for an updated ship! I would never recommend this ship to anyone and I will probably never do carnival again. Read Less

This was my second cruise, first being with just my son (10 months at the time), and I. This second cruise was with our whole family. It was by far the worst family vacation we've ever had. Never again will we use carnival. They screwed up all our room assignments (they gave me a $300 on board credit that got immediately eaten up by gratuities), staff is beyond rude, no one cares if you are having a issue unless you inform them you are having issues with locating your autistic son due to the incompetent staff shuffling my kids to the wrong zone for the drill. My son was suppose to be excused from the drill due to his medical issues but nooooooooo the steward staff made my son, daughter, and grandmother leave their room. By the time I reached my son he was a minute away from passing out. He has heat triggered seizures. The guest service manager tried to prevent me from getting my son out of the drill area. I had to yell at her he needed to leave. When she came to find me to try to I guess tell me about myself she realized the situation was actually serious she then changed her stank attitude and tried to kiss butt. Same with the dinning room staff in the Atlantic dinning room. The hostess was so rude and the head manager as well but of course when I said to my fiance that situation was just one more thing to add to our email to corporate he changed his attitude. It seems in order for the crew to be nice you have to inform them you are contacting corporate. I could honestly go on and on about how horrible the crew was but Ill save myself from getting frustrated again. As far as food.... It was gross. Eggs are super runny, bacon is dang near raw, pancakes taste like crap, syrup is watered down, even the main dinning room dinner is just bad. The only thing i enjoyed was the crab legs and I had to pay $25 for it. No matter if it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner its crap. We did the cat in the hat breakfast and although my kids enjoyed meeting the characters the food was basic. Now the port.... We stopped in Nassau bahamas and man oh man that port was NASTY. As soon as we got off the ship we were disgusted by how dirty the port was. And then when we got past the tourist information gate we were swarmed by ppl trying to push services or merch on us. That was annoying but i get it. What got me really annoyed was numerous guys came up to us (my kids too) asking if we needed weed or "blow" (im assuming thats cocaine). Like they have no care in the world there are little kids there. A lot of shops try to play you aswell and take your money claiming they have no change. Thank god I read and did my research before we got there and knew not to buy anything at the port and to walk a few blocks down to get everything cheaper. the straw market was interesting.... VERY hot so that was interesting to see how all these vendors just deal with the heat. Getting on and off the boat was pretty easy but we did get off 2 hours after we ported and got back on a way before everyone else. Now the debarking wasn't too bad. I didnt wait for our deck number bc frankly my son was just tired of waiting and starting to get a big sensory overload. They didnt give me issues about leaving before our deck was called. Aside from all the issues with food, staff, ect, the boat it self was overly crowded, our room didnt even get turned one day, there was a lot of rust around the boat, there isnt much to do either. Even with the little they had to do it was so packed it wasnt worth waiting for the activities. We also had a party crew in the room across from us and holy crap they were loud. The screaming and laughing lasted up until around 3am and started right back up at 8am. It was very annoying. Security even came up a few times bc i guess other guest complained but those ppl could care less and the moment security was gone they started yelling again. Oh and lets not forget about on both decks 6 and 7 (I had two rooms) the hallways reeked of marijuana. Def not something I want my kids to be smelling. Oh and let me not forget to mention how the communication between the 800 number, the crew on the boat from the different departments and management has HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. No one knows anything and none of the requested accommodations I requested for my autistic child and my other child with server food allergies were granted So if asked if i would ever use carnival again.... my answer would be "HECK NO"! This will have been the first and the last time I ever give them a shot. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was on dates that fit into our inflexible travel schedule and the price was right. It was me, my wife our two young daughters (6 & 3) and my mother. We had an ocean view suite and a neighboring standard stateroom. Accommodations: The suite size was okay. The balcony was very nice. The furnishing were worn but serviceable. However, we immediately noticed a septic stench in the room that made the room far less appealing. It got worse so we notified our room attendant. It got better once he addressed it but soon returned. Then, the floor tile in the bathroom started cracking and raw sewage started seeping up from under the cracked tile grout. Rather than relocate us, they insisted on fixing the issue. Each fix was a bandaid and the issue kept returning. It was disgusting! I finally insisted they move us but they said," just let our plumber see if they can fix it". It was just another temporary fix and septic stench and the seeping sewage came right back. The ship is old and feels it. The on board entertainment was virtually unwatchable. The child care camp was glorified babysitting. The food was mediocre and uninspired. The pools were drained multiple time for "unsafe bacteria levels". We complained and they credited us $50 off our final invoice and offered us $250 credit toward another cruise. We gave Carnival a chance to make this right and they would not step up. Just a really really really terrible experience. Never will I choose Carnival again and my wife was so traumatized she's just turned off to cruises in general now. Read Less

Treat you like they're the ones on vacation and you're getting on their nerves just to answer a question. ESPECIALLY customer service! Drinks were flowing and pretty good. However they don't tell you that after you purchase the drink package to include tax you still have to pay an extra tax per drink while you're still in Florida waters...what a scam! The food was decent, especially the burger and taco stand. Don't even think about eating at the buffet unless you want to spend an hour in line. Ridiculous! Our dining room waiter, Darryl was excellent and very accommodating... 5 stars for him! Food was decent, cant really complain about that. The Music was good. But not enough shows onboard. Only had 1 game show and Bingo. I'll never take carnival again! Read Less

If you want to experience the worst cruise ever, come aboard. If not, STAY AWAY!!!! The FOOD - TERRIBLE, the ROOMS-SMALL... the SHIP IS SMALL!!! And the staff is RUDE. In all aspects, this cruise is terrible. It is sad that we spent so much money on below-standards food and service. And they charge for everything. The food is disgusting and poor quality, and the staff seems to be unhappy and lacking enthusiasm. Expanding on the food, the truffle aioli is loaded with mayonaise, the prime rib is always medium rare no matter how you ask for it, our mac and cheese was served cold and smaller than a kids portion... We choose a quick getaway and it was affordable. It was by far the worst cruise line we have ever sailed with. Food was terrible, cold, long lines, they even burned a hot dog. They also ran out of differfent dishes at the buffet. Room service coffee was cold. And NO ADA accommodations for those who need it. The fancy dining room was a joke and no management around. The pork chop was so tough, it almost went flying off the plate as I tried to cut it. What was good, was our cabin steward, he was wonderful, knew us by name and cared. The others don’t care. We tried to call customer service and guess what, no direct dial to customer service. It was such a disappointment. Spa, we used the spa for a couples massage, don’t do it, there’s no zen, you hear slamming doors and very noisy. Not to mention we were misquoted on the prices. They are not honest on their pricing and then you get the bill and they deny what they told you. I will certainly be contacting Carnival corporate. Stay far away from this ship. Read Less

The Carnival Victory is a ship that needs to be put out to pasture. The ship looks about as old as they get, despite Carnival's supposed "refurbishment." From what I can tell, all they did was add two fast-food stations to the pool deck to help with the lunch overflow. You get what you pay for in the cruising biz and this ship was every bit as cheap as its price-tag. The Pro's - Check in was a breeze. Guy's Burger Bar is pretty good. The gym was decent. The Con's - They lost our luggage despite the fact we paid for "Faster to the Fun." The FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. Worse than a school cafeteria. I'm not joking. There were no "stations" at the buffet, only a perpetually long line, filled with annoyed people looking to further fatten themselves. Oddly, there wasn't really much in the way of "hand cleanliness" as found on other cruise ships. The room was passable, except for the balcony, which had signs of rust everywhere and windows in need of cleaning. The public spaces on the ship wanted to be a "South Pacific" style, but come off looking very cheap and dated, like one gigantic bad porno set. Tacky tile everywhere the eye can see, filled with dim multicolored signs for the various bars/lounges. The casino was NOT very giving, but that might just be my luck. Also, it was toxic in terms of its smoke content. The aft deck is completely a waste of space. The mini golf course is falling apart and laughable. There is a large "sunning" deck that would be better used as a sports court. The activities were minimal on the ship, with little in the way of actual planning or coordination. The lobby bar was minuscule - most trivia events happen here and there isn't much seating. We had to always wait to get seated in the dining room - 20 minutes was the minimum. Elevators take forever to arrive. The staff is pretty unfriendly overall. I could go on an on about how terrible this ship and our experience was. TRUST ME on this - you will be disappointed. Even if you think I'm one of those negative nellies - you'd be wrong. I'm a pretty forgiving sort. I was actually rooting for the cruise to be good at every turn as I don't get much time off. So....yeah. Buyer beware. Read Less

Chose this cruise simply because it was an inexpensive short cruise that I could book at the last minute while spending a month or so in Florida. I had never cruised on Carnival and thought it might be a way to give them a quick test drive. Little did I know that this "test drive" would turn out to be the "cruise from hell". I should have suspected something was wrong when they double charged me for drinks at dinner the first night. I discovered this when I went to the customer service counter at 3 AM on the first night because I couldn't sleep on the thing they called a bed and was unable to find anyplace open for a cup of coffee. They informed me that nothing was open from midnight to 6 or 7 AM. This is something I have never encountered on any other ship. There is always someplace open 24 hours a day. My inability to sleep was due to the beds having so little support that you dare not sit on their edge unless you wished to find yourself sliding onto the floor. After two nights of this I was ready to get off the ship and fly home until they finally agreed to replace the mattress in our cabin. The sliding door to our balcony was in severe need of attention as it was almost impossible to operate due to being off the track. They kept trying to tell me that it was supposed to be this stiff. I kept working my complaint up the chain of command until they finally came and seated it properly in its track on the last evening of our cruise. The staff, except for our cabin attendant and the dining room staff, were less than helpful and seemed to merely going through the motions. I have never seen a more lackluster and unhelpful bunch in 20 plus years of cruising. My first time on Carnival will be my last time on Carnival. Read Less

I have been on 9 carnival cruises. This was by far the worst!! We never buy excursions from the cruise but we did this time just in case of inclement weather. They guaranteed if it was inclement weather you would get a refund. We bought the Dolphin encounter that also included paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. we had the dolphin encounter but they cancelled paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. At first they blamed it on the weather. Which was perfect of the time no wind full sun 79 degrees. In the end the blamed it on they had no fish due to a storm 3 days prior....We were not informed until we were getting on the bus. We ended up having to pay for a taxi and pay for snorkeling on a different Beach. Which was amazing but we could have done it way cheaper without the cruise ship. The lady at the ship excursion desk was very rude and they would not compensate any of our money. Also our room person did not even clean our room half the time. We They only had one real show and that was the last night at 10:15 p.m. they cancelled the earlier show. That was the first time we saw the dancers and singers. The food was okay. The only thing good about the ship was the company we were in, the other guests on the ship, and our server at dinner Miluska. I think I may choose a new Cruise company next time I go. Read Less

I just want to tell everyone pick a different cruise line. The only thing going for them is the wait staff and cruise director and spa staff. So lets begin so we board the ship and go to our room to start my wife's birthday cruise and in our room was supposed to be a large tropical bouquet and balloons cake and more..... We open the door and i'm hoping she is going to be happy with her surprise and nothing!!! As noting in the room but a very small bouquet and that was it.. So i call the front desk and ask where is my $182.dollars worth of stuff to surprise my wife they said they would check this is at at 4:20 pm so we go explore the ship and come back after be gone for 3 hours and still nothing i call again. They tell me they are working on it.so we do late dinner and come back to the room with the decorated with paper balloons and still no change with the flowers. The next morning i go down to the desk and asked for help they tell me they will call me about the flower and fix it.. So we get ready for our fun day in nassau we get to our boat and the weather is awesome we board the boat going to the private island and after waiting 30min they tell us our excursion is canceled our trip and the held us there. When the finally told us we could go. I ask what else could we do they told us we had to go back to the ship and see. So we did i went to the excursion desk and the lady they said we could go scuba diving and nothing else of we could just go to the public beach which if you do you home work you will find its advised not to do. So i go to the customer service desk and ask for help the tell me the will will refund my excursion money but i'm want my wife to have fun she only turns fifth once so can you help me they call the excursion desk and they told the desk the same we can go diving. So they tell me sorry nothing we can do. You can enjoy the boat or the shops in nassau. So 1pm and now three other boat have ported so place is packed so i take her to paradise resort buy taxi and try to make the best of it no thanks to carnival..we get though saturday. And finally sunday morning get a call from the vp of customer service at 11am telling me that she was going to send someone to take a picture of the flower and send it to corporate and i could handle it with them. Well them never showed to take the picture so i took one myself.. So monday when we got of the boat i called the customer service line and told everything that happened and the guy that works for the carnival told he was sorry but there is nothing he can do..... I will never ever take a cruise on this line again it was the worst experience of any cruise or trip i have ever taken. Anniversary Cruise with the wife. These things happened onboard and I reported them to Carnival Customer Care when I returned home. (Note: These issues were not resolved by onboard staff when they were reported.) 1) Friends were unable to board because Carnival was trying to determine if they had a medical device that I use. How did they get my information on their cabin? Carnival Customer Care Response: Because they had dinner with us the information was given to them. Wow!!! 2) Passengers next to and above us (they were together) decided it was a good idea to put 9-10 inch speakers in hallway and blast music. They also did this in their cabin. Reported to Guest Services & Security. Nothing done. Carnival Customer Care Response: None (Onboard security stated they only “...take care of these types of issues at night”. The cabin steward handles in the daytime.) 3) Pre-Ordered a vanilla anniversary cake to be delivered for dinner. Received a chocolate happy birthday cake. Wow #2!! Carnival Customer Care Response: Refunded money. 4) Ordered food from room service twice. Resulted in wrong drinks and cold chicken wings. Carnival Customer Care Response: None At this point we’re done with Carnival. My wife and I have only cruised Carnival in the past. I have 11 and she has 12. We are Gold & Platinum members respectively. We requested Carnival refund our money and were told via telephone by Alicia today that nothing would be done. She offered a credit on our next cruise. Yes. You read right. On Sept 10,2018 - my husband and I (Miami residents) along with two friends that live in Key West decided to get together for a few days on the Victory. Our cabin was 9258 - It was our 6 years anniversary on the 10th (sailing date) and our friends that stayed in cabin 1106 wanted to surprise us by calling Carnival in advance and setting up the room with a bottle of wine, special beach towels, Carnival wine glasses and additional decorations to make our anniversary special. When we arrived, we were in heaven, to say the least, and extremely happy, such a beautiful gesture from our friends and the cabin itself looked clean and decent enough for a couple of nights of cruising and relaxing. We dropped off our luggage and did what I'm assuming 99.9% of the passengers do when they first board the ship - explore the ship and have a couple of cocktails and people watch. Before you knew it, it was time to shower and get ready for dinner. We were at table #341 in the dining room with the late seating. After dinner, we took an additional stroll through the ship. Thinking… I'm not sure why everyone says such bad things about Carnival, especially the Victory. After all, we have traveled on the Breeze a few years back and had a great time. By the time we got back to our cabin, it must have been around midnight. My husband (exhausted) claimed into bed and I stayed up till about 3 am working a few deadlines. After finishing up my clients work, I finally had a chance to climb into bed myself to get some shut-eye. The next morning, when we woke up, I can't even explain how disgusted we were when we pulled back the covers to find human feces on the linen. It wasn’t just a little either, it was a HUGE amount. The Victory’s staff took their own photos but I also took photos (just in case). After calling our Stateroom Steward to show him what we found, he seemed shocked as well. he called his supervisor to inspect as well. Now, I'm a pretty easy going guy and so is my husband, but this woman was a REAL piece of work. She started to raise her voice with me at which I QUICKLY shut her down. her customer service skills lacked on all levels. I can assure you of this because I was in the hospitality industry for MANY years in South Beach and there are things you should and should not do. I like to call it etiquette. Especially if the customer is right. In any case, the supervisor, as useless as she was, called her supervisor: He was EXTREMELY nice and super understanding and accommodating. He brought us down to the “Diamond Preferred” section of the customer service desk where we did not have to wait in line to try and resolve our problem. The “Customer Service” staff at the counter thought that a bottle of wine and a steak would be an appropriate and good compensation for what happened. Mind you - there are only two stops on this cruise Key West and Cozumel and this happened on the second day (the Key West Day). The ship only stays in key west for about 4 hours total. About 2 and 1/2 hours of that port were a complete waste because of this entire fiasco and standing at Customer Service with no solution on how they were going to accommodate us by changing our room. No need to mention how that entire day was ruined. I did, however, ask the lady behind the desk is she was willing to sleep in human feces for a bottle of wine and a steak? Her answer, of course, was no, because… I mean.. who would right? We were finally moved to cabin number #9283 after spending about an hour (or less) in Key West. We inspected the new cabin ourselves and it seemed fine and were looking forward to putting this behind us and to try and enjoy what's left of the cruise with our friends. At this point, we were dealing with the Assistant Guest Services Manager on board. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and he completely sympathized with the magnitude of the situation and understood why we were so upset. Unfortunately, I have a strong suspicion that he was being used as a middleman to deliver news and had little to no power to offer us what we truly dissevered. A complete refund as well as an apology for that enormous disaster of a "cruise". But wait for it folks... it doesn't end there. The following day, We woke up, my husband took a shower and used the bathroom facilities in the room. He flushed. Shortly after flushing, sewage water started to come up from both of the drains in the bathroom - the drain in the shower and the drain next to the toilet - leaving, again. the smell of feces with the added plus of sewage (i have pictures of this as well). They called maintenance and had it fixed. But of course, trying to put something like what happened on the first night behind us, only to have something similar happen the day after served as a reminder of something we were so desperately trying to forget. Not a very good way to experience any cruise. Especially such a short one. We were then offered a massage service, a flight back home (which meant leaving our friends behind), or a $250 refund for “our inconvenience" - but again… the question beckons: Would you sleep in human feces for any of these offerings? I still believe that NO ONE WOULD and I still don't think that the magnitude of the situation was being grasped by upper management (of which we NEVER even got to talk too). I don't even have to say at this point that all of this, of course, ruined our short cruise and our 6 year Anniversary. The ONLY reason we had a decent time, towards the end, was because our friends were there to take our minds off of the situation. But in the back of my head… all I could think of was... what's next? Not a very relaxing feeling which is what I'm assuming is what Carnival is supposed to be all about. No? Do I recommend Carnival at all? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Not on any ship. Although this situation happened on the Victory, the way the situation (overall) was handled by corporate after all was said and done is as disgusting as those sheets, and they are responsible for EVERY ship. So No. Don't sail with Carnival at all. Their Vice President of Customer Care decided that we are not to get any kind of compensation. They also failed to provide an explanation of how this could possibly happen or why a bed was made but the sheets were clearly not changed. If this happened in our room, I have to wonder - how many other beds were issued to new passengers without fresh linen? This information (of course) was communicated to me through another guest service agent who was sent to pass on the bad news. I'm assuming because (again) the "higher-ups" could not be bothered with me. Some Customer Service huh? #ChooseFun? I don't think so. Read Less

This has been my second cruise ever, and unfortunately I really didn’t do much research on the ship and the company , I booked it because of the dates and the duration of this cruise . Where to start , food lines were always huge any time of day , food was cold and mediocre. I went to a Norwegian Cruise and this never happened ! On my last day , I decided to use a spa credit that they had given me for my birthday . WORSE DECISION IVE EVER MADE !!! Let’s just say , my hair was about 24 inches long (REAL HAIR) and I wore some half sew ins for extra volume , now I only had 5 braids that had hair sewed in so it was my whole head . When I go to the salon , this guy hairstylist, unfortunately I don’t even remember his name , tells me to explain to him what I want. I tell him right from the start the type of extensions I have and if he was comfortable working with them ...... he says of course , this man washes my hair and tangles my hair with my hair extensions into two huge knots that he can’t untangled, he asks for me to take the extensions off!!!!!! He completely lied to me , he didn’t know what I was explaining to him or he was just plain ignoring me as I spoke before the treatment . At the moment I noticed he was panicking I ask him to stop .... I ask him to just please leave my hair with hair conditioner and that I would try to figure out. I get to the room and as soon as I saw what he had done to my hair i tried untangling it , nothing would take those knots away, my husband and I for sure couldn’t , We go back to salon and ask for shampoo and conditioner or anything that would help , they gave me a small amount of god knows what in a plastic bag. How CHEAP can they be , you can clearly tell what I’m going through with my hair . We go to guest services , and ask them to call the manager of the salon , she didn’t pick up until 2 hours after that they call our room . All she had to say is that she had no one to see me at the moment , and that if I was unhappy to set a claim . Let me just say , I had to cut my hair shoulder length thanks to this man .... I went to the salon and they themselves couldn’t untangle the knots. Oh and by the way CARNIVAL never got back to me . Completely ignored my claim , my reviews . this is my 6 cruise and I have to said is the worst cruise ever, from the overall lack of cleanliness in the hallways, personal cabin, all restaurants and all areas around the cruise, dirty windows everywhere, sewage smell around the hallways, elevators and bars, , food is mediocre as best, terrible, always cold, no flavor at all, taste frozen, overcooked and re use , awful presentation, this goes for the buffet and sit down dinners, not to much interaction from the overall staff, slow service in all areas, lack of supervision or presence from either chefs, front of the house managers, officers etc checking the product, no sense of security, I report every night noisy neighbors in other cabins screaming and fighting each night and no one came to check on it, it was too many problems in the cruise with people misbehaving, bad language, screaming and no security was around to take control of the situation, I felt that I was in a wrong place all the time, no standards established at the sit down restaurant for people dressing in the main rooms, I saw people in tank tops, sandals, broken shorts and they let them eat there, people doing karaoke in their tables during dinner, making the ambience uncomfortable, I definitive will avoid Carnival Cruises moving forward and I strongly suggest to avoid this specific cruise Victory for a good , safe , relax vacation Read Less

Hands down, this was the absolute worst traveling experience, i've ever had! From the hair in the beddings to being awakened at 5:45 am by the fighting people in the room next door! Upon checking to the room, i inspected the bed, where i found long blonde hair in the bed. I called room service, they apologized profusely and "changed the sheets". When my husband and i returned from dinner, i checked the sheets again and the same hair was there, plus the sheets were not changed! I made a mark on them to be sure if they were or not. Not!!! The free food was disgusting, except for the breakfast and dinner served in the dining rooms. The boat was so old, we had to take showers outside of the shower! The toilet seat in room 2254, was stained!! I brought clorox wipes and still was unable to get the stains off! The other passenger were smoking marijuana, e-cigarettes and cigarettes on the ship, even in the adult only areas and nothing was done to stop this behavior. I really wanted and needed to enjoy this cruise! It was a huge let down, and waste of money, that could have been well spent, elsewhere. The comedian on the cruise called it the "section 8 cruise!" he was exactly right! Read Less

We had 2 cabins. It was a lot of us and all with similar opinions. The food looked old tasted old and still had a frozen food smell. It was slimy. Very little options with the variety of foods. It looked like they just heated the same food everyday! The food at dinner was smelly meat, guey and the shrimp tasted old, the fruit was old and sour. We ordered and left everything in fear of getting sick! This was an issue everyday on board!! Honestly it was horrible to be hungry having paid thousands and cant even get a fresh meal. I felt trapped eating there. When we got of the ship, those were the only times we had good food. Not to mention our cabin stunk like musk and the prior occupants items were left behind. I mean c'mon I've been on the fascination and that ship gave us a better experience compared to this one. I will not travel with carnival again for a while because I'm afraid of wasting my time, money and possibly getting food poisoning and who wants that on their vacation!! Read Less

It was my 40th birthday celebration and wanted to take my daughter on a weekend getaway. After a lot of research I chose this cruise for it seemed it had a good variety of activities for adults and children. One in particular was an awesome slide for the pool! Well we get there and the slide is closed for the entire duration of the trip! Extremely disappointing since my daughter was really excited and looking forward to this. I thought my room would be decorated for my birthday and when I booked I wasn’t told it would cost money to decorate. If I was told I would have spent the money. I specifically said we were there for my birthday. The ship did not have enough staff around to guide us to places if you got lost. I felt unsafe at some points. I called Carnival and told them about the experience and all they wanted to offer was a $25 credit for the next cruise. I said no thank you and you lost a customer. Read Less

Always wanted to go to Miami and the Bahamas. We got taken care of with one trip. Arriving at the Port and boarding was quick and easy. We had priority. Everyone was great. Drinks wait time was quick the whole cruise. Tip the bartender on the first day last day. He knew my drinks and would tend to me as soon as I walked up. Wait staff was quick and attentive. Late dining for ud no rush or to be pushed out. First stop after day at sea. Half Moon Cay was beautiful and we got a villa for 8½ of ud. Best decision we made. It was hot and we had shade with AC along with hot tub. Great place for pictures. Next stop was Nassau. Spent our day at the British Colonial. Not bad but not sure if I would do it again. Did some nice shopping rather my wife did. When we returned to Miami. We were off the ship by 8:15 am. Process was fast and organized. We took the Carnival shuttle which was worth. Lady working tjere boarding was rude but forget about her. Will do again. Read Less

The Carnival Victory was a disappointment from the time we got on board. There were major mechanical problem. Four of the 6 hot tubs were not in working order, the food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. You have to pay $20 extra for filet or lobster tail. so it is not really all inclusive. The ship was in dry dock for almost 3 weeks prior to our cruise, You would expect things to be in tip top shape. Many of the public rest rooms were out of service and the ones that were open were filthy. When I tried to talk to guest services regarding my concerns - I was told to call 1-800-Carnival when I got home!! The on board entertainment was good. Only bright spot on the cruise. Embarkation was a nightmare because the ship was not ready at the scheduled time. Even though the ship had an over haul it is still dated. Read Less

This cruise was supposed to be a special occasion for us but instead it wound up being our worst cruise ever. We were coming off of an NCL cruise in Miami and just had to walk down the dock to get to the Carnival Terminal and the Victory. We got there about 30 minutes ahead of our 10am scheduled arrival and had a seat outside the terminal entrance. At 10am the question was asked, "What's going on?" and the answer was that the Victory had just come out of dry dock (surprise #1) and embarkation was going to be delayed while they unloaded construction equipment and workers who had been on the ship for the last two weeks. "How long?" we asked. The answer did not sit well with those who had already gathered at the terminal expecting to check in and have a seat inside a comfortable terminal with chairs and restroom facilities. Noon was the answer. So we waited and when Noon arrived there was more delay and nobody in a uniform that worked at the terminal (not Carnival folks but the agency they use to operate the terminal) had any answers. So let's skip to the boarding which started about 2pm and continued for the next 3 or 4 hours. We walked onto the ship at Deck 3, Atrium Level and noticed there were a lot of pallets of material still on the deck outside. Upon entering the ship we were met by the Hotel Director and some of the Entertainment Staff who said because we were the first ones on the ship that we were going to be escorted to the Lido Deck to help celebrate the opening of some new venues that had been placed on the ship. Blue Iguana Cantina was the one we had the pleasure of cutting the ribbon for. We got our picture made, a free margarita and a thank you from the staff. That was the highlight of our cruise because it is all downhill from here. We had an Oceanview B room on Deck 2 towards the aft of the ship and it was for us a good location. Close to the elevator and a lot of the nightly entertainment venues. Large and spacious room with lots of closet space. Stateroom was #2398. During the week we experienced, along with everyone else on board, a dirty, dusty environment because of the construction that had taken place and was still being done even while we were sailing with 2000 passengers on board. There was problems with the water, the water pressure, hot water and noise. Smells of paint thinner, although we were told it was not harmful to humans, wafted through the ventilation systems and into the staterooms at times and sometimes was so strong that we had to leave our room and find an outside fresh air source. And that was also a problem because they had the outside decks on 3 and 4 fire doors closed during the entire trip to keep passengers from going outside. The decks were dirty and railings were missing in places. Only the smokers ventured out on these decks and I think even they felt inconvenienced. We addressed these issues, including the fact that there was no Internet Cafe/Kiosk area on the vessel, with the powers that be. Included were the Guest Services Manager and the Hotel Director. We actually thought that we were making some headway into getting some answers or at least get something done while speaking with the Hotel Director on the 4th afternoon in the Atrium because about 8 to 10 Officers, whom you never see on Carnival, had come to the Atrium and we thought they were there to discuss the problems that were being reported by dozens if not hundreds of passengers but as it turned out they were just there to be interviewed by a TV crew who were reporting on the renovations being made to the ship. Disappointment was the word. The Hotel Director offered us a glass of wine. No thanks. Later we received a call from the Guest Services Manager offering a bottle of wine as a gesture of good faith. We made an appointment to meet with her and we had another opportunity to express our concerns and feelings. Not much came out of the meeting with the exception of an approximate refund of one days fare for our troubles and assurances that we would not lose another nights sleep worrying that the paint fumes would again wake us in the middle of the night and force us out of our room. We skipped the Platinum/Diamond VIFP party on the last night as we didn't want to see or speak with any of the officers who for the entirity of the trip seemed to take a side door through a secret passageway whenever a passenger approached them. And what is it with Carnival Officers and their phones? Are they really speaking to someone or is that their way of avoiding conversation with people? So in summation I would recommend that the Carnival Victory be marked off your To-Do list at least for another couple of months or until they can prove that conditions warrant our bookings. Read Less

As this ship was just out of dry dock we expected it to be in tip top shap, WRONG! They were still putting it back together, decks you could not go out on because the railings were loose or missing, bathrooms/toilets that were out of order the entire cruise, our cabins was next to one they were working on all week and constantly smelled of acetone, we were not able to be in our cabin, each night they had to use an ozone generator in it prior to us being able to sleep in it, constant headaches. Hot water was not working in our shower , stained cushions on loungers in adult areas, torn beach towels, children in adult pool, areas. Food was awful, service was terrible, noise from hallways into staterooms was very loud as they have vents cut into cabin doors into hallways, no privacy. Music in pool areas was obnoxiously loud, everyone was complaining of headaches. Even the crew we talked to could not believe they did not cancel the cruise, ship was not safe to have guests on it. Guests were constantly lined up 20+ deep to complain at the service desk, the issues go on and on..........I will attach some photos if I can. Embarkation was a joke, they waited as long as possible to let anyone even into the waiting area as the continued to work on the ship, I personally saw 2 elderly men pass out in line. Entertainment was awful. Don’t waste your money on Carnival when you can have a true wonderful cruise experience with Royal Caribbean, I will stay loyal to Royal from now on! Read Less

The service was horrible. The dinning room service took around 3 hours! There were lines for everything: food, vending machines, and even bathrooms. We had to walk around everytime, multiple times, to find sitting space. The "entertainment director" announcements were extremely annoying. On top of constantly promoting jewerly sales, they never announced the weather at the ports. We could hear people talking all night in the hallways from our room; we even could hear foot steps.  The staff were very slow, unhappy, rude, and uncaring. Multiple shows were canceled during our trip. Everything was very unorganized. We had to hikeup multiple staircases the first and the last day becuase they were closed up for Luggage transportation; never seen such a thing on any other cruise lines before. The ship layout was extremely annoying and not easily accessible! The ship smelled like fart everywhere. The ship was overall dirty. The food was cold and very low quality. The expensive wifi we paid for took around 20 minutes for one webpage to load.... On top of everything the DJ had maximum choice of 10 songs that was replayed every night of the trip thorough out different parts of the ship. This was our first time sailing on carnival; NEVER AGAIN. we have sailed with royal carribean before and it is comparing night and day. We had a horrible experience this past week; it was a nightmare and we could not wait to get out. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we liked the itinerary, Key West and Cozumel, and we cruised on this ship last year. The service has really gone downhill. We had anytime dining which was a total disaster the first night. Waited 20 minutes for a table and then it took a total of 2 hours to complete dinner. The dining room was in total chaos that night. Never offered any kind of drink at all. And all our food was cold when we got it. Went to get pizza around 11 pm and the line was a mile long and not moving. No other food available at that time of night other then ice cream. Room service for breakfast showed up 1 day out of 3. Room service tag was left hanging on door all night. Upon returning home, I opened my suitcase to find all my clothing in a heap, even t shirts bought in port that were folded in the bags we bought them in had been removed and thrown back in the suitcase. Two necklaces packed between the clothes were stolen! They didn't have a lot of value, but they were a couple things bought just for the cruise. Hopefully the pawn shop doesn't give the thieves much for them. Don't let them handle your bags, as apparently they will help themselves to your things. We had better luck the next three nights with dinner, as we found a good dining room team and requested them the rest of the cruise. However, we were only offered drinks one night in the dining room, so all I can say is that saved us some money! The elegant night was fun, but there is no dress code. The couple seated beside us had on shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes. The ship seemed to be pretty short staffed. Our room was fine, and our room steward kept our room nice. The rest of the ship seemed a little dirty. It was definitely a disappointing cruise experience for us, and to have items stolen from my luggage just put the icing on the cake. We won't cruise carnival again! Read Less

I chose this cruise because I was looking for a Thanksgiving cruise and when I booked, the other cruise lines only had inside cabins or suites left. The main things I want to highlight are the following: 1. You get what you pay for!! I have cruised with Celebrity, Princess, and RC. The clientele aboard the ship was what you would expect for the price-there was a fight on deck 2 nights of the cruise. 2. The food was awful-some of it totally inedible. We didn't bother with the main restaurant after the first night because the food was disgusting and the service TERRIBLE. 3. Too many unnecessary in room announcements-with a speaker right above your bed this is not a pleasant experience. Best thing about the cruise was most of the bartenders were fun and made great drinks. Considering 50% of the ship was probably drunk for most of the cruise I guess this is why people choose Carnival. NEVER AGAIN would I sail with Carnival. Read Less
