Was looking for a short cruise for my first time cruisers grandsons 9 & 7 years old it doesn't have a splash park but they did keep the kids busy with camp carnival and build a bear on the one sea day we had plus the one water slide they do have and the movies at night on deck. that's the good part ,now the bad the food in the dining room was cold and seemed to be poor quality nothing great the Buffett food also had a problem with temperatures as well as being nothing great and the carving stations meats were mostly overcooked desserts reminded me of the ones you get at a Chinese Buffett nothing great .i like to get up early in the morning and walk the ship usually getting a coffee in the Buffett however i wasn't able to do that because they never had a machine ready for early risers also i noticed several times at 4:30 am several young children roaming the halls with no parental supervision it's like carnival just didn't seem to care about this ship and left me wondering if they were trying to cut corners to save $$$$$ very disappointing.this was my 3 rd cruise with carnival and probably my last Read Less

I was traveling as a “Girls night out” vacation. We had 3 women in our 30s. This ship was a lot of fun! I normally travel on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean but I think I’ll be switching to carnival now. We had a balcony overlooking the back of the ship on deck 8. The room was great! The balcony was huge! Easily double the size than I am normally accustomed to. The beds were comfortable and there was ample storage. The only downside was the shower area wasn’t as nice as other ships. There was a gross curtain instead of the spa doors. But other than that it was ok. The muster drill was a complete failure. It was hot, it was crowded and disorganized. You couldn’t see or hear any instructions and they had us packed in so tight that a woman actually fainted. Not one staff member came to assist the poor woman. There’s got to be a better way to take care of this requirement. This was by far the worst experience on any ship I’ve been on. The lounge areas were nice. The club was a lot of fun and had good music. The pool areas were also a good time. I didn’t see any of the shows so I can’t comment on that. The dining experience gets mixed reviews from me. The food in the dining room was really good! We had any time dining and never had to wait for a table. The waiters were all very good and entertaining. The rest of the ship was hit or miss. It felt like every time I wanted to eat, everything was closed. I did not see the Mexican taco place open once the whole time. The burger place was mediocre at best. The sandwich shop was disgusting. The buffet had good food but it was closed more often than not. The pizza place never closed but the pizza was completely tasteless. Literally it tasted like dry cardboard. But unfortunately that seemed to be the only spot open for food for most of the trip. Overall I had an awesome time! I’m going to take a week long cruise on the same ship in August so I’m hoping that the dining experience will be different. Maybe the restaurants are open more for longer trips? Read Less

My family and I were apart of a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas traveling with a party of 65 people. My husband and I along with my 11 year old son and mother in law joined us. Let me first start out by stating that me, husband and son have cruised before on the Disney Dream several times. I must say that you get what you pay for. I talked my husband into going knowing his only point of reference for cruising is on the Disney Cruise Line. In my earlier years (20's), I've traveled on the Carnival Cruise before and I must tell you, I think that experience was far better back then. The embarkation was smooth however the one representative that I encountered was not as friendly and appeared to be very upset that our boarding documents were printed on the front and back of the paper. This was a huge no..no! I was scolded for that and had to wait in line while she printed a new ticket for me. Once that was done, we proceeded to board the ship. It was smooth sailing after that. While on the ship, we arrived to our cabin at 1:30pm. We had a balcony view cabin. We didn't enjoy it much because the windows of the balcony was so cloudy and dirty, we couldn't really get a good view of the beautiful ocean and sites. We stood up most of the time looking over the cloudy window. We could tell that they didn't clean the windows nor did they clean the floor of the balcony due to the accumulation of dirt in the corners of the balcony floor. Our bed was a King size bed that was pretty comfortable until I rolled into the center and felt the crease. I then realized that I was sleeping on two twin beds pushed together. That tells me that the lining used on the bed was either thin or missing. I made sure not to roll in the center of the bed avoiding the crease in the center. Our cabin steward was very nice and kept our room clean. I never complained to him or anyone on the boat as I didn't want to appear to be a cruise snob. The dining was nice, food was good not great. Waiters were nice and accommodating. I came down for dinner once, and I didn't have a good experience so I opted to have dinner in other places on the boat. Entertainment and activities for children were lack luster. My son begged me not to leave him in camp carnival as I had him registered. My son is 11 years old and when we arrived to camp carnival, we saw a few dinosaurs and lock blocks on the floor. Some monitors with no wifi and a few children younger than his age group. He slightly tugged at my shirt and gave me the look and I read his lips...PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ME HERE!. I knew why and we left. Carnival should have more activities and things to do for that age group. The Entertainment for adults were okay! The comedian on board was funny but other than that, the night club was overcrowded and the waiters there would take your order and swipe your card then go on break. We had to track down the only waitress in the place and explain the situation. She was so upset by her coworker's actions but she remedied the situation, brought us our drinks and apologized. The service at the Blue Iguana Bar was horrible as was the service at the Seafood Shack onboard the ship. The crew members that serviced those areas appeared to be over worked, bothered by taking orders and dealing with guest. They lack customer service skills and just out right rude. Ports and Shore excursions - well we couldn't wait to get off the ship and head for the Atlantis so we could spend the day there and away from the Carnival Victory ship and it's staff. I must say, this was a good experience for my husband to experience other cruise lines other than Disney Cruise Line however, I created a beast! We could never cruise with this line again with our son who was like his dad...vowed to never return to Carnival again. Read Less

We chose our first summer cruise (6th cruise overall) to celebrate our 20th Anniversry! It was fun! We arrived later than normal the day boarding at 2pm. Easy peasy. Once onboard we went to our stateroom where our keys were waiting outside our room. We opted for our first balcony experience and we quite enjoyed it! We were in room 8300. Quiet spot, lots of room and storage, comfy King bed. Of course we brought a power bar and put it to good use. Shower was hot all the time, bathroom big enough for us. Mini fridge is always handy. One day an hour after we left Cozumel I noticed a large fish in the water below our balcony. After watching it for a few seconds it came up for air and I realized it was a baby dolphin! I called my wife out too see but she was too late. Not two minutes later we saw two more young dolphins! A very cool experience we wouldn’t have gotten if we didn’t have a balcony. Most of the time the balcony upgrade is too pricey but for this four day cruise it made sense. One great upgrade in all rooms was the night light that would come on near the floor when you got up to go to bathroom in the dark! Someone was thinking, cool feature to have it on a floor motion detector. Only came on when your feet hit the floor. Food was good on board. The Atlantic dining room was our place to “anytime dine” and Nick and his crew were fantastic! Food was hot and tasty and Nick worked hard to make our experience great. We even got sang too and presented with a special dessert for our anniversary. That was a nice touch. We found that line ups were often long at the deli and pizza place. Go in off peak times to avoid this. My GF diet was catered too everywhere on ship except at the Blue Iguana, no corn taco shells!! Even the deli had a turkey wrap ready in a FF wrap! Buffet was decent and had two omelette stations. We had the cheers drink package and really enjoyed ordering whatever we wanted without worrying about the cost. Entertainment on board was great! Good shows in the main showroom and funny comedians, two of them. Wasn’t a big fan of Leticia, solo singer. Voice seemed to over power the ambiance. The casino was Smokey in areas but fun! We were premier guests and enjoyed Kyle and his crew with all the fun games and draws. I won $75 in one game when my playing card was pulled and I got to select an envelope to open. My wife’s name was drawn for a $400 prize but she was enjoying the balcony and couldn’t make it in time to collect her prize. Slot tournaments were fun as well as the BJ one. First cruise I ever finished up at. Only $300 but I’ll take it! Pool areas were fun, crowded but we just hopped in to cool off then jump in the outdoor shower. Water slide was fun, I enjoyed trying it. Lots of chairs could be found if you weren’t stuck on a particular area. I found good service at all the bars, staff was great. We really liked the itinerary, Keywest is vey fun and reminded us of a mini New Orleans. We did a hop on hop off trolley tour for $35 each, 90 min. Narrated. It was a great way to see things and hear the history. Next time we can go do something more specific. Leaving at 1pm made it a short stay, would love to hang out in Sloppy Joes and other bars longer. Cozumel is one of our favs and this time we booked an excursion privately with four other lovely people we met here on cruise critic. Tour was awesome, picked up in an air conditioned van and taken to a Tequelia farm, local bar, Coconuts bar and Tortuga Beach bar where we were fed free lunch (yummy tacos) and got to do some snorkeling for free. Very cool, was a 5 hour tour all over the island. Thanks to our tour organizer Cindy and Michael (NCL CIN) for including us and for our other new friends Tonya and Jill for being great passengers with us!! Tequelia farm is NOT to be missed and none of us were Tequelia fans prior to this. It tasted NOTHING LIKE the Tequelia we drink in North America. So tasty and smooth, no salt and lemon needed. Everyone bought a bottle Beiderbecke we left. Local bar was eye opening, 8 drinks and free apps, the bill was $25!! Coconuts was on the no hydro side of the island and well worth the trek. Drinks were pricey but bar and view was fantastic. All in all another great Carnival cruise, felt longer than four days! Read Less

I chose this particular cruise because of the itinerary and the size of the ship. I have sailed on the Conquest twice and the Victory had almost the exact set up. I booked the Captains Suite because that is the Cabin I stayed in on the Conquest. The Victory is in beautiful shape. They truly upgraded her. She is clean with new carpets, paint, etc. However, what was excluded was the Steakhouse and that was a big mistake. The reason I didn’t give Victory 5 stars was the food in the MDR. I’m not a big foodie but when I have a dinner I don’t mind an upcharge if the dinner is worth it. I love lobster and I know it will be an upcharge but honestly I’ve eaten shrimp that were larger. And it tasted like hamburger grease. The shrimp cocktail was a joke. So my cruise mate and I decided to try the Seafood Shack and what an improvement. Yes we paid market value but boy was it ever worth it. When the food in buffet is better than the MDR well Carnival you have a problem with your food service. So back to the real review, the personnel couldn’t be more accommodating. Our suite was very clean and our room steward Hamid was great. I loved the slot machines and they loved me. Came away with around $400 cleared. Not a fortune but it was fun and that’s all it should be. The movie channels were good because one night my cruise mate was sick so we stayed in and watched movies. Both Key West and Cozumel were great ports to visit. Overall I loved it, you can’t go wrong you’re on vacation and on the ocean. As I stated before, Carnival has a great product but MDR is sadly lacking. I may try Norwegian next year just to see something different. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted a 4 day that sailed during the week. We were on this ship December 2016 and enjoyed ourselves. This time we went July 2018. There were a few upgrades since our 2016 trip. Our room was already renovated in 2016 but they did not have Guy's Burger, Red Frog, etc. We enjoyed the ports and the ship and the service is always great. However, the food was hit or miss. The breakfast buffet was not good. The last day we went to the dining room for breakfast and that was very good. The dining room food was average. My husband and I thought the food was much better on our first trip. We prefer to be in the aft part of the ship. Our room was on Deck 7 side aft. Every day about 3 pm or so, our room smelled for several hours. We assume is was when they started cooking for dinner, even though we were 3 decks above the dining room. Our first trip, we were on the back of the ship with an extended balcony on Deck 6 and didn't have a problem with odors. It was more crowded being that is was July and kids are out of school versus December. Overall, we enjoyed getting away. Even though it's a 4 day, I think the Monday to Friday itinerary makes is feel like a long trip. Read Less

3 night cruise with an overnight in Nassau. Second time on Carnival. First was a 7 night on Carnival Glory. The Glory was a bit nicer, food a bit better. This is an economical cruise that is as fun as you make it. The shows in the main theater were fantastically performed. Singers (especially the female) were exceptional! Went to Karaoke 2 nights and had a blast. Everyone is so excepting! Food was hit and miss. The comedians started very late and one night, only did Rated R 18+ shows. NOT TO MISS: Guy's Burger Joint! If there is a long line - it's worth the wait. The Pacific dining room is at the back of the ship. The location is nicer than the Atlantic. We wanted My Time dining, but was waitlisted. So we had to eat at the Early Time = 6pm. For the timed dining, you have a set table where you will eat each night. I think the table location is based on your cabin number. Our cabin was 7431 and our dining table was 431. Our table had a great view right by the window. The steaks are a bit tough and flavorless (except for too much char flavor). Crabcakes were surprisingly super good. I could have eaten multiple. Caesar salad and Baked Alaska were great. Servers in the dining room were fantastic! Bartenders at the 3 bar locations we went to were NOT friendly. They barely look you in the eye. Husband got a massage and my daughter and I got the mother and daughter massage. We've had massages on RC and NCL and this is the best we've had. The most relaxing and less painful. There is a big up-sell and pushing of products at the end. But a polite "no thank you" was all that was needed. The salon and spa area didn't look as nice as the other ships we've been on. We waited in the salon for our massage therapists and saw a woman getting her hair done. She was Indian and was having a beautiful jewel on her forehead, threaded through her hair. At the end she asked him to part her hair down the middle and he flat out said "NO". Casino smoke was awful!! I smelled it on the Glory when walking through, but it was really bad on this ship. Also, marijuana wafted throughout our hallway every day. Not enough lounge chairs in the shade. There should be more along the sides of the ship. We liked to sit in the loungers by the ping pong tables - outside the doors to the pool, turn right and up the stairs. There might be more shady spots, but that's what we found. Putt putt was fun, but was way too hot to finish. We overnighted in Nassau. There is space for about 4 or so cruise ships. There were 2 ships already docked. Our ship was docked at the farthest spot from the entrance. It was a pretty long walk and very hot. We made our own arrangements and did not do a Carnival shore excursion. I got a day pass for Breezes. We had planned to take a bus to Breezes but were persuaded by the tourism people in the Welcome Center to get a taxi. They had told us it would be $18 and the drivers told us $24. It was all pretty stressful and chaotic. So be prepared to pack your patience. All of the food and drinks were included at Breezes. Jerk Chicken and Conch Fritters were awesome! We got there around noon and there were not a lot of umbrellas left. But we pulled up 3 loungers under a big palm tree and it was fantastic. The beach seemed very safe and only a couple of people asked if we wanted our hair braided or wanted wraps or necklaces. We took our snorkels but didn't see anything except sea grass and some weights. The water is crystal clear and calm. I'm glad we weren't staying at Breezes. It seemed a bit tired. Overall, a fun time. It's not luxurious. But it's an economical way to cruise! Read Less

Needed better communication with the guest. The pools on Sunday were disgusting! Hair, dead skin floated on top of the green water. Never drained & cleaned the pools Saturday night. The service was not very good though. The MDR was hard to find a waiter, even with 3 of them assigned to us. The food in the MDR was not very good either. I rarely saw any crew members willing to talk or answer questions except to sell us something, and once we did buy, they ignored us again. Our room was near the elevators on deck 7 and we could hear the music from the bar on deck 3 until midnight. In was glad I brought ear plugs. Fun cruise overall, but I expected more. this is my 6 cruise and I have to said is the worst cruise ever, from the overall lack of cleanliness in the hallways, personal cabin, all restaurants and all areas around the cruise, dirty windows everywhere, sewage smell around the hallways, elevators and bars, , food is mediocre as best, terrible, always cold, no flavor at all, taste frozen, overcooked and re use , awful presentation, this goes for the buffet and sit down dinners, not to much interaction from the overall staff, slow service in all areas, lack of supervision or presence from either chefs, front of the house managers, officers etc checking the product, no sense of security, I report every night noisy neighbors in other cabins screaming and fighting each night and no one came to check on it, it was too many problems in the cruise with people misbehaving, bad language, screaming and no security was around to take control of the situation, I felt that I was in a wrong place all the time, no standards established at the sit down restaurant for people dressing in the main rooms, I saw people in tank tops, sandals, broken shorts and they let them eat there, people doing karaoke in their tables during dinner, making the ambience uncomfortable, I definitive will avoid Carnival Cruises moving forward and I strongly suggest to avoid this specific cruise Victory for a good , safe , relax vacation Read Less

My husband and I go to Nassau every year now for Memorial Weekend and it has turned into a group trip with some friends. This year it rained the entire time, but we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! Half were first time cruisers so they enjoyed everything about the trip. The servers in the dining room were great. We did not seem to have an issue when eating at the buffet, but the pizza line was outrageous at times and it seems that Carnival would fix this by now. We ordered room service one night after my husband tried to get some pizza and I am sure that it came faster than him standing in the line himself. Embarkation was a breeze!!! I have NEVER gotten on a ship so quickly! We boarded in Miami and they have changed the process a lot! My sister utilized Club Ocean for their daughter and they loved it as well. She is VERY overprotective of their daughter and felt at ease leaving her. She was provided with a phone to contact them or for them to do so in case of an emergency. I contacted a driver prior to arrival in Nassau and arranged pick up and a tour of the city due to the weather. He even came back that evening and took us to Atlantis! We flew into the Miami Airport where we were able to check in with Carnival avoiding the long lines at the port. Our family was in balcony rooms on Deck 8, rooms 8267 (this room was too near the elevator lobby doors and was too noisy at night), 8269, and 8271. They opened one of the doors for us on the balcony creating a joined balcony which was so nice. We loved Guy's Burgers, and the dining room's food was delicious every night. Our grandchildren loved the water slide, the playground, and the putt putt. All Carnival employees were friendly, helpful, and kind. We parasoled with Sebago Watersports in Key West. Absolutely a wonderful adventure for all the adults. Easy lift off and easy return! So peaceful and the view was to die for. In Cozumel we taxied to Playa Mia, a resort on the beach with all kinds of water toys, beach chairs, and a splash pad for the kids. It was a great bargain for the cost. We disembarked ourselves and were to the Miami Airport by 9:30am. I surprised my husband for his birthday and booked the Victory (Stateroom 6202) for it's May 14 2018 sailing. It had been three years since we last cruised but a well needed vacation. Embarkation from the Port of Miami was okay. They never showed us where our luggage was supposed to go to be checked so we unfortunately had to carry our bags onboard. Not Carnival's problem but better signage and attentive workers at the port are more to blame for that. The ship in my opinion does not show its age. It could use better/updated signage on the 3rd floor where guest services is because the lighted signs are hard to read. Like others have noted, I did not like having to use the 6th floor or walk through the smokey casino (in in appearance but in smell) to get to the comedy area, karaoke, alchemy bar or Atlantic dining room but the only way to fix that would be to completely redesign the boat. The casino needs better ventilation as the cigarette smell radiated up to the 6th floor. Also, it would be great of the sports bar was not exposed to the casino to eliminate the smoke smell as well. Our cabin was great. Ironically enough I was super sick (motion sickness) from the flight earlier that morning but absolutely fine in the aft of the boat. It was very clean and efficiently stocked/tended too. Dining, le sigh. Lower your expectations. I learned my lesson that the cheaper the cruise is, the worst the food's quality would be. I'm glad I didn't book the Chef's Table. My husband was served raw eggs in this Breakfast bowl and the staff was always absent, slow and not personable. We had breakfast in Atlantic every morning and the taste of the food was inconsistent, but the service was always consistent in that the servers were inattentive and not personable. Entertainment was okay. I hated the shows outside of the newlywed show because it was centered around rock n roll and older style selections. As 30 somethings who listen to pop, R&B and gospel, the shows were very unappealing to our generation and culture. The comedian Azeem was good but his mature (18+) show was definitively not for the faint at heart. Lots of f & b bombs but I still found humor in some of his act. Service was more of a miss than a hit. Our cabin steward was the best and our dinner staff on the last night was the best service we received the entire cruise. The ports were okay. I wish we could have stayed in Key West a bit longer but we made the most of it while there. We did the hop on hop off trolley and enjoyed seeing the new and old island and hearing the history. During our Cozumel port the gangway was damaged due to a very bad storm so many people were stuck outside the boat for at east 4-6 hours while the gangway was repaired. We were happy we stayed on board that day to enjoy the empty boat. The passengers weren't the best but not the worse either. Many were friendly, most were 20 somethings who preferred being drunk/intoxicated so I'm sure they would cruise this boat again. We are more mature, laid back, foodies so this wasn't an appealing cruise for us, nor were we anxious to do another one very soon. Disembarkation was a mess and very disorganized. We carried our luggage off the boat and they called too many floors at once. We stood in a long line for a while and once back in the Port of Miami you were treated as if the vacation was over. Unenthusiastic employees who chanted "Welcome back" in a very monotone voice who made it clear to keep moving and leave the port ASAP. Read Less

The free food was disgusting, except for the breakfast and dinner served in the dining rooms. The boat was so old, we had to take showers outside of the shower! The toilet seat in room 2254, was stained!! I brought clorox wipes and still was unable to get the stains off! The other passenger were smoking marijuana, e-cigarettes and cigarettes on the ship, even in the adult only areas and nothing was done to stop this behavior. I really wanted and needed to enjoy this cruise! It was a huge let down, and waste of money, that could have been well spent, elsewhere. The comedian on the cruise called it the "section 8 cruise!" he was exactly right! Read Less

We chose this cruise because it fit a scheduled family visit. We live in Florida but the visitors were from Oregon and had never been or a cruise. The price, length of cruise, itinerary, cruise reviews and dates available were perfect for this trip. My wife and I had not been on Carnival in 10 years and we are currently Platinum with Royal Caribbean. Honestly I felt like we were taking a step down by choosing Carnival but for sure I was WRONG! There is much to like about Carnival and I now see why they are the biggest cruise line out there. there is so much to like about this experience, I hope I can convey it all 1. The ship is huge but not too huge 2. The ship was in amazingly terrific condition for an 18 year old ship 3. We had interior rooms on the bottom deck at the rear of the ship. Much to my surprise there was very little motion felt and almost no engine or propeller noise. We had a very quiet hallway and our cabin steward Antonio was nothing short of amazing. For a budget room, I give it 5 stars. Oh yes, the shower was the largest I have ever had on a cruise ship 4. I have to say, the food quality and selection was actually better than Royal Caribbean. We had a party of 8 and were seated on the upper deck of the Pacific MDR. We we is a quiet corner and it felt like a cozy local restaurant, we never felt like we were eating with 500 other people. Our wait staff, Donald, Luis and Dewar made our trip more than memorable. I cant say enough good about the entire dining experience 5. The entertainment was non stop through out the ship. There were activities for all age groups. The main show called Livin In America should have had an R rating. Not good for little children, very sexually suggestive and too much skin. The other show was a rock and roll tribute, it was terrific. 6. Service throughout the ship was spot on. There when you needed it but never overdone or "in your face" 7. CRUISE DIRECTOR: A Cruise Director can make or break a cruise. Our Cruise Director Felipe was hands down the Best of the Best. He managed to touch everyone in our group. 8. Ports of call Key West and Cozumel, great time, much better than the Bahamas. Read Less

We had 2 cabins. It was a lot of us and all with similar opinions. The food looked old tasted old and still had a frozen food smell. It was slimy. Very little options with the variety of foods. It looked like they just heated the same food everyday! The food at dinner was smelly meat, guey and the shrimp tasted old, the fruit was old and sour. We ordered and left everything in fear of getting sick! This was an issue everyday on board!! Honestly it was horrible to be hungry having paid thousands and cant even get a fresh meal. I felt trapped eating there. When we got of the ship, those were the only times we had good food. Not to mention our cabin stunk like musk and the prior occupants items were left behind. I mean c'mon I've been on the fascination and that ship gave us a better experience compared to this one. I will not travel with carnival again for a while because I'm afraid of wasting my time, money and possibly getting food poisoning and who wants that on their vacation!! Read Less

We drove to FL and parked at the Jet Port parking. Very easy to find right off of I-95 and if you get there for the first 10:30 departure is very quick to board the bus and they take care of your luggage. They drop you off at the port and load your luggage on the carnival cart. The next we saw our bags they were in our room! Embarkation was a breeze. We are old fashioned and took just our BC and drivers license since departing from a US port and returning.(we intend on getting passports) We were through and on board with a Margarita by 11:15am. The ship is very accommodating but could get very crowded around the Lido deck bars and eateries. The buffet was very crowded at meal times, We enjoyed the dining room dinners but opted to skip the formal dinner. We were told that dressing up would be semi optional for Carnival was trying to get away from people feeling they are too dressed up or not enough. I think the atmosphere was semi casual rather than formal, with a few exceptions. Although casual was swim suits in the buffet and should have been left for sunbathing! Guys burgers was our favorite! My only complaint was with the Serenity adults only deck. Was not too crowded as i have seen in other reviews however, it is located near the entrance to the slide. When the slide was backed up on sea days the attendant looped the line into the serenity area. There were 20 kids lined up jumping and screaming while serenity guests were sunbathing and relaxing., This should be corrected with the line left out in the slide entrance area. The age in serenity is 21 and older for a reason!!!!! Entertainment was enjoyable. My husband was asked to join the classic rock band in the casino for a few songs. He is a drummer and played right along. We also joined in on the Military gathering on the last day. Very heart warming and our cruise had the original Top Gun author that wrote the book made into the movie on board along with the GPS founder. Would not have known this unless i attended. A few tears shed and great military stories from passengers. A must if future cruises offer!!! We carried our luggage off the boat since we did not have a flight to catch. Just as easy as boarding!!!! Read Less

My first issue started with embarkation. I handed the rep my family’s documents, she mixed them up and then said there is a problem and had to send me to someone. I had to go straighten everything out in which I was told, there was no problem. All documents were there. The rep then asked if we had any food allergies, I informed her that I documented the information in my cruise portal. She informed me that I needed to let her know. So I did, we boarded shortly afterwards, I was getting excited. As we were walking to the Lido deck, we were ambushed with tons of staff in which were trying to sell us so many different services, get us to sign up for raffles, to take photos. I felt very uncomfortable. Although the cruise fee was inexpensive, I still felt as if I paid my money to enjoy myself and not to be harrassed on every floor, at every elevator. It got aggravating as this occurred the whole cruise. We finally get to our room only to notice, my daughters luggage was missing. We went to guest services, the line was toooooo long. So we thought to enroll my 2 younger children for camp, in which was closed, during the cruise they were closed more than open and when I was able to drop off the kids, I was given 1 hour to 2 hours to assure I pick them up. All day went by and no suitcase. I finally went got to guest services, I received no help there, but the staff was very pleasant. I returned back to my room before dinner and finally the luggage was there. We get to the Atlantic dining hall and again I was asked to repeat my daughters food allergy list ( I was asked every night, at every seating) I will say I do appreciate RICA ROSA, who memorized my daughters name and allergy list from the first day of the cruise, although she wasn’t assigned to be our wait staff, she visited us at every sitting to assure we were okay. ( we miss her). The second day my husband and I found out that carnival deactivated our account due to a mistake on their end. They finally apologized after 30 min of arguing and forcing me to contact my bank, in which my bank informed me that carnival was pulling funds from my account after the authorization of the $100.00 was held. They totally screwed up my account and fixed it after frustrating myself and my husband. I really wanted to go home after that. The pool bar staff was very very rude, as I purchased 2 bottomless bubbles package (1 for me and my daughter) and I’m guessing I was wasting their time asking for Sprites with cherries (I don’t drink alcohol). My 11 year old was allowed to purchase jewelry and charged it to the room, when I took the jewelry back I was told that they didn’t know how to refund the item. This became a nightmare on top of a nightmare. I did enjoy being on the water, and watching the sun set and the beautiful sight seeing however I really wish I would have chosen a different cruise line. The sales people, and being harassed to buy, buy, buy really put me in a funky mood. I literally was dodging sales people by maneuvering around the ship by walking the back halls. Ugghhhhhhh... I would not recommend Carnival to anyone!! Read Less

many of my friends was talking about the carnival cruise- so for my fiance's birthday- i suggested a cruise to the bahamas. here's a rundown of our cruise: 5/4: Tagging our luggage- very nice person- he informed us where to go and where to line up at- very helpful since we informed them that we were 1st time cruisers. Lining up at Guestcare- just so that we can put a credit card on file- which later i found out that we didnt need to put one on file. stood in line for 1 hour- no biggie- we were enjoying the scenery. getting on the ship: was cool- everyone was nice and pleasant to be around- we walked around until our room was ready. After 2.5 hours- we started to go to our room- per our sheet that we got from Guestcare- PROBLEMS: someone elses luggage was there- sheet that gave us iteneraries for the day- was not US- the room was supposed to be decorated with balloons and a drink for my birthday surprise for my fiance- WAS NOT THERE OR DONE. so.....thinking - it was simple mistake- we will find our luggage the decorations must have been an oversight- no problem- BUT- when we asked our stewards about our luggage- he was not helpful- said- "they were very busy and maybe 2 hours- we can get our luggage".... or " i can go to Guestcare- soo...we decided to go to Guestcare- where there was a line of people and long and behold- our luggage was sitting on the hallway- tag has been removed from porting- so there was no way of us finding out unless we look inside the luggage- which we did and thats how we find out that was our luggage. 5/5: we asked several for room service, since our room has not been cleaned- we asked for clean towels- only to be told that - they are on thier way to cleaning the rooms... 5/7: carnival DOUBLE charge my debit card- i had to wait until 5/9 to call guestcare and talk with them so that i can have my bank release the funds- in the meantime- my account in the negative for 2 days- no money until they released it- it was exhausting- Guestcare said that they failed to tell us about the hold- ...overall- the rest of the cruise was good- carnival pushes for Guestcare and how amazing they are- but we didnt feel- it was awful experience at first. we would like to cruise again- not sure if we will use carnival this time tho- but i really liked my carnival planner- greg- tho.. It was my 40th birthday celebration and wanted to take my daughter on a weekend getaway. After a lot of research I chose this cruise for it seemed it had a good variety of activities for adults and children. One in particular was an awesome slide for the pool! Well we get there and the slide is closed for the entire duration of the trip! Extremely disappointing since my daughter was really excited and looking forward to this. I thought my room would be decorated for my birthday and when I booked I wasn’t told it would cost money to decorate. If I was told I would have spent the money. I specifically said we were there for my birthday. The ship did not have enough staff around to guide us to places if you got lost. I felt unsafe at some points. I called Carnival and told them about the experience and all they wanted to offer was a $25 credit for the next cruise. I said no thank you and you lost a customer. Read Less

Our family of seven went on the cruise from Miami to Mexico on April 30 to May 4. This was my first cruise trip and we really enjoyed. We had much fun in the ship. The best part is the food. We enjoyed the different varieties of food and kind service of waiters. We really appreciate Chef Finto Paul for feeding the good number of people with variety of food. We enjoyed the food and we have no complaints whatsoever. We really enjoyed the array of food with different country themes. The service of the waiters was excellent. I think of two of the waiters--Mafe and Loving (I think this was her name) for their amazing service. We applaud Chef Paul and his crew for the food service in Carnival Victor. I would really recommend my other family to take this cruise to Mexico or to Bahamas. Hats off to Chef Finto Paul and his team. Read Less

We traveled as a family of 3 in an inside room (8411). Cabin: The cabin was roomy enough, had plenty of lighting, and was clean. The bathroom was large enough, the toilet had plenty of room, and the shower worked good overall. The only slight problem with the shower was the curtain wasn't long enough and caused lots of water to go into the regular bathroom area. Not a big deal, but others who just wanted to use the bathroom had to be careful of the very wet floors. One person used an upper pullman and they said it always felt a little slanted. The ladder up to the pullman was essentially vertical, so you have to be in good shape to get in and out. I was a little worried about the noise being below a pool deck but our room was quite. Thankfully we were below the adult only pools that didn't have loud music playing at night. We did have one major problem with the room. My other two family members were resting in our room one day and they started to smell a VERY strong odor similar to kerosene. They were afraid something was very wrong and quickly reported it to several people, but these people were initially hesitant to do anything. Eventually a head guest services person who oversees the staterooms came down and agreed and wanted to move us to another inside room. They were not sure what caused the problem, but several rooms all around us experienced the same problem. Next door a room with a mother and child had already been moved to another room. At the same time they had an oil leak on deck 5 and were doing welding work which may have been what my family smelled. They also used a commercial grade ozone machine in our room before any of our items were removed which I wasn't aware of until I came down and found out what was going on. The room they had available was on deck 2 and I wasn't too keen on moving all our things down there. We decided to give the room a few hours with the AC on full and thankfully the problem went away. Sadly, the ozone machine made our room smell like it was full of paint thinner (VERY strong and noxious smelling). Thankfully that mostly went away after a few hours. The room steward came by later to replace our bed sheets and we were given a bottle of wine of our choice ( Read Less
