We chose it for the itinerary. We have done over 30 cruises but only two with Royal Caribbean in 1999 and 2001 which were excellent. Unfortunately this ship was very disappointing. We had just stepped on board in Fremantle and were bombarded by people trying to sell the different restaurants drink packages etc - they were really overpowering. We had anytime dining And really enjoyed the food and ...
Seeing Australia and New Zealand has always been on our bucket list and this cruise seemed perfect. We have been on Radiance two other times so we knew the ship quite well so it was like coming back to an old friend. Needless to say, getting to Perth takes some effort. 14 plus hours to Sydney from Los Angeles and then 5 more hours from Sydney to Perth. I was surprised how inexpensive the ...
We chose this cruise almost exclusively because of the itinerary. This was our 18th cruise, but only our second on RCL. Our first RCL cruise was in 2005. We hadn't been back to RCL since then because of a disappointing dining experience. Our 2005 evaluation was confirmed on this cruise.
We had great service in the Cascades dining room, in the Schooner bar, and from our state room attendant. ...
When one contracts for a cruise we expect, at a minimum, two important things. First we expect a reasonable level of safety be provided throughout the cruise, and second we expect professionally run tours to enhance the experience of visiting new places. My wife and I recently returned from two back to back cruises on Royal Caribbean, around Australia and New Zealand and we experienced ...
We chose this because of the ports and the fact that we could circumnavigate Australia, go to Indonesia, and also visit New Zealand. We are also Diamond members. The quality of the food was far inferior to that we have enjoyed on previous cruises. The attitude of the guest service people was abrupt and not helpful. This ship needs a serious shake up of the attitude of folks behind the front desks. ...
As an avid Cruiser I thought this was a nice way to get to Freemantle. Thisturned out to be:
. After contacting your Head Office in relation to the ‘Soda Package and ‘Dairy Free diet’ only to find neither were acceptable. See the following:
. This has been the ‘Worst Cruise’ I have ever been on! (I have been on all the major Cruise Lines)
. Why do you charge US Dollars when we were in ...
We were first time cruisers and only did the back to back because of the itinerary.
Back to back was Australia top end & New Zealand, was sick and tired of constant up selling, the put the drinks prices up mid cruise by around 12% probably due to the bars being almost empty after 10.30pm.
Took ages to get onboard & kicked off at 8.15am.
Excursions were vastly overpriced.
Food in the ...
I will try to keep this as short as possible, although I could write a book about it.
Faulty plumbing in bathroom making terrible noises throughout the day. Flooding of floor of cabin from outside source. Cabin change to so called upgrade that was really a category downgrade. New cabin had permanent black ring in toilet from wearing out of porcelain and bathroom lights flickered off and on ...
We're to begin, the boarding was the first disappointment, so looking forward to boarding at circular quay with the bridge and the Opera house within touching distance. No, we had to make the trip right around to other side to board the tender. What a mess that was in the heat, basically took us all day.
Then on board the pressure started to buy drinks and specialty dining where ever we went. ...
I have come to a couple of conclusions and the first one is that everyone has a different cruise depending on who you come into contact with and every ship has it's own personality.
This is my journey on this trip.
We arrived in Sydney the day before as we always do and stayed in Pitt street.
AS the Ovation OTS had taken our port spot we actually had to tender to get on the ship, which ...
