I warn you in advance, that this is a long review. I will try and touch upon all of the aspects of this cruise, things I wanted to know, prior to cruising. We have traveled extensively over the years, so we know good service when we receive it.
As soon as we booked this cruise, one year ago, I started reading all of these reviews. I must admit, I was little worried, based on some of ...
First time to Alaska. Agreed on by all participants. We knew going in that it was not a Caribbean cruise, the weather was going to be cool and rainy. It was. Everything was as promised. Nothing was extraordinary, nothing unexpected. No problems at all.
The cruise:This was one of those cruises where the ship was more interesting than the ports. Except Juneau and the whales. Our ...
Cruise with full family of four (2 kids -- 1 year & 3.5 year old).
Room -- Had a Sky Suite. Older kid slept on the foldout bed. Younger was in a crib supplied by Celebrity. Was tight when the bed was folded out. But once he woke up and we collapsed it back, room was fine.
Dining -- We did all of our meals in Luminae since we had access due to our suite. Food varied from very good to average. ...
Ship: We were on the Millennium with friends under the command of Capt Nicolas. The ship was great, no doubt and was very well maintained. I think the cruise and the captain did a great job of all communications.
Cabin: We took the cabin with the balcony. I think it was a great choice to have some openness to the cabin. The cabin was tight with ample storage space. The pictures on cruise ...
This was my first cruise; a 7 night trip to Alaska to celebrate my 30th birthday. Overall, I really enjoyed it.
The itinerary seems fairly standard for cruises in Alaska. We sailed from Vancouver on the 5th, then spent a day at sea before arriving at Ketchikan on the 7th. From there, we sailed to Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and Skagway. We concluded by sailing past Hubbard glacier and finally ...
Full disclaimer here: This was my first cruise other than a short 3 day cruise in a river boat in China through Three Gorges.
To date I have been to about 45 countries over three decades and consider myself a very experienced world traveler. That said, I have avoided cruises because I suspected they would not be to my liking. Confirmed.
This time however I took four relatives besides my ...
Love Alaska cruising... Weather did not cooperate...but still a great venue.
Staff on Celebrity was wonderful (as usual). Ship is getting a little tired.
Some shows were overcrowded with no seating available.
Anyone not having been to Alaska before should definitely include a land tour that includes Denali. (We did not do this on this trip, as we have done this twice before).
We did ...
We have mostly traveled with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean on the seas. We look for the ship with the right timing and ports of call. This trip we did the 3 night land package and 7 night southern Alaskan cruise. We were upgraded to the 8th deck and had a cabin almost identical (with balconoy) to the cabin we had in December of 2015 , with great service. Food was very good and the speciality ...
We browsed through the website and chose what was available to fit into our travel date.
Over all the ship personnel were very responsible and considerate.
We have select dinning in the main restaurant every night , and we were placed at table 331 every night. Charles and Gary were our waiters. They were very professional, very considerate and deserved 10/10 scoring. The food there was ...
Our family was interested in a cruise to Alaska that would take us one-way from Vancouver, offering several interesting ports and some glacier cruising. We had previously cruised the Caribbean with Celebrity and had enjoyed the experience, so we chose the Millennium, which offered exactly what we were looking for in terms of itinerary. We stayed overnight in the Vancouver area (in hindsight we ...
