Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Wind Surf

This was the third time we have sailed on the Wind Surf and it proved to be every bit as good as we remembered and maybe even a bit better. This was the first time in the Caribbean on the Wind Surf and we boarded in St. Maarten. We got in two days early to avoid any chance of winter weather in the Northeast stopping us from arriving on time. We stayed at the Holland House in Phillipsburg and that ...

Thoroughly enjoyed the seven days spent on the Wind Surf! Was nervous about being on a smaller boat compared to some of the others but found it to be a delight, especially since we were in a port every day! The crew was simply stellar: quick to respond to any concerns, taking pains to remember you by name and doing all they can to make your sailing spectacular! We selected a suite which was an ...

Cruising on the Windstar is like coming home for the holidays!

Our cruise was the "Yachtsman's Caribbean", a 7-night round trip voyage to/from St Maarten, with stops in Antigua, Tortola, Virgina Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and St Barths. This was my 10th voyage on the Wind Surf, including 3 voyages when the ship was owned by Club Med. I guess I am just a repeat offender? As usual, we flew into St Maarten a few days early (always a wise choice) and spent 2 nights ...

we stayed 2 nights in Holland house hotel before cruise (great choice), and were taxied to windsurf. really liked the 'small ship' atmosphere (we have always cruise the main line, carnival, celebrity, etc.) everything was definitely a step up. friendliness of the staff was very noticeable. loved anchoring and going in to most islands on tenders. locations were mostly smaller without tons of other ...

Windstar Wind surf Sicilian Splendours October 2014

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Wind Surf

While we enjoyed portions of our recent vacation/cruise, the Windstar Wind surf (Sicilian Splendours itinerary) failed to meet expectations and would be reluctant to book Windstar in the future. The most appealing aspect of this Line/ship was its size, the small number of passengers was the most welcome part of our experience. While seemingly marketed as a premium line it squarely delivers a mass ...

My Wife and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary aboard the Wind Surf on the Glitter & Glam of the Rivieras tour (Barcelona-Rome) Sept 20-27th, 2014. The key to this cruise is knowing what to expect, so you're not disappointed. We chose it mainly for 3 reasons: 1) the ports of call, 2) the intimacy and personal service of a small ship, and 3) small ship access to the ports. We're experienced ...

Wind Surf from a first timer

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Wind Surf

Although this was our first experience with Windstar (and last), we have sailed many times. When a cruise line advertises a "luxury cruise experience" and charges accordingly, my wife and I have a certain level of expectation that comes from traveling with the likes of Regent Seven Seas. Windstar is NOT Regent! (Not even close) While we had a nice time/interesting itinerary and the crew and ...

Scandinavian Tapestry - new itinerary, new decor

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Wind Surf

BACKGROUND:  We have sailed on the Wind Surf many times, including 3 cruises when it was owned by Club Med, so every new cruise is now like a family reunion of sorts for us. Since our last cruise on the Surf, there have been many changes -- new owners (Xanterra), new ships in the fleet, newly refurbished interior decor, and a new itinerary (first time for us in Scandinavia). This May we were ...

This was our 4th cruise on the Windsurf and second leg of a back to back trip. We’ve had some very upsetting events happen during this trip, however we try to be fair in this review, particularly to the hard working staff onboard. Please read the full review and be warned: Scotland made for some challenging sailing, but the Captain and his crew managed beautifully. We enjoyed being able ...
