King penguins on St. Andrews Island in South Georgia. There were more than 400,000 penguins there the day we landed. (Not a typo)

Amazing ship/Poor Company Service
"Swan Hellenic did offer me a "voucher" for a future cruise, but so far nothing that they offered me is to any area that I haven't already visited, so for me it is probably going to be useless. The reason that I gave the Swan Hellenic Company a poor service rating was because of the incident which occurred during my effort (and those of many others) to reach the port of Tromso the night before the cruise (lodging was included in the price of the trip for that night)...."Read More

State of the art ship!

Review for a Africa Cruise on SH Vega

This was a cruise of a lifetime on the west coast of Africa. The Vega is a brand new ship that is as top notch as they come. The crew and staff were excellent throughout the voyage. We ran into a couple of days of seas that were impossible to get to shore on the zodiacs, but they scrambled and got other alternative things for us to do. You have to be prepared on an expedition for things to not ...

The cruise was conducted excellently throughout and we were able to reach and land on all of the planned destinations. Nothing was too much trouble for the very efficient and friendly staff with great attention to detail. They were obviously well trained as some of them recognised me from five years ago on a different cruise line. A very experienced expedition team and a very good guest ...

Excellent cruise, once we got on the ship

The cruise was incredible. Life-changing excursions in Antarctica and South Georgia. Surrounded by wildlife in no way controlled or influenced by humans. Our expedition team was tireless and effective at getting to fantastic destinations despite challenging weather conditions- which are common with Antarctic cruises. The food was satisfactory, especially given we had no ports of call to restock. ...

Best Antarctica cruise ever

I did 2 Antarctica cruises in 2023 and will do 2 more to the Arctic in the Fall because the Vega experience was simply the best because of several reasons. 1. The Vega is new, christened in June 2022. It is small, 150 passengers, and is beautifully appointed. Cabins are spacious with lots of storage, and public areas are first-rate: swimming pool, sauna, large living room/meeting room, dining ...

We sailed with the SH Vega to the Antarctic Peninsula. Room was excellent, always clean. The Restaurant was impecable. The staff super accommodating and helpful, all of them. The onboard facilitie are awesome, Sauna, Pool, Jacuzzi etc. We are in love with this beautiful ship. We also had the possibility to join the crew on the bridge and ask a lot of questions. The crew really filled us in ...

I ended up on the SH Vega entirely by chance- I had come to Ushuaia to look for a boat to Antarctica, and kind of didn't even care which vessel I ended up on, as long as the date and the price were right. I got set up by a great company in Ushuaia (Wayfinders), and found myself on the SH Vega several days later. What an incredible stroke of luck! I have a lot of comments, so I'll keep them ...

This was the trip of a lifetime. From the moment of arrival in the Buenos Aires Airport, everything was taken care of by Swan. They pick you up, and transport you to one of the best hotels in the city. Lunch is provided and and evening reception where they briefed us on what would happen the next day. The next day we were transported to the airport for our charter flight down to Ushuaia. ...

I can't say enough about the cruise experience I had going to Antartica. It was near perfection. The itinerary was very informative and challenging. The Vega handled the Drake Passage easily, the stabilizers are amazing. The ship was large but with only 150-person capacity, everything felt spacious and never crowded. The furnishings, rooms etc. were first class. The food was incredible, almost too ...

Crossing Drake’s Passage aboard the SH Vega

After reviewing other cruise itineraries, we wanted to make sure we had an intimate experience for our first voyage to Antarctica. Swan Hellenic seemed to have all of our bases covered. Aboard the SH Vega, a new ship, we experienced up to date facilities, restaurants and lounge areas. Our intimate requirement was met by the limited capacity of passengers, fewer than 150, and that it was an ...
