i was ask to go on this cruise with a friend. i had never sailed on a cruise and neither had he, so we decided to embark the journey together.I got sea sick but the weathere was very cloudy and windy. The cruise director Peter was awesome.... I really enjoyed all of his entertainment. Ivan was our stewart and he was very friendly and always was smiling and helping us with anything we needed. Hahdar was our waiter in the Paris supper room and he was very friendly and waited on us , very fast and all these people that i mentioned were amazing, in fact all the people were very friendly and spoke every time we saw them. next time, and yes there will be a next time very shortly, i will get a room thats on the lower deck, just because i get sea sick easily. Peter, Ivan and Hahdar are the best people you could ask for to wait on you. they are amazing.. the shows are great!!!! i had the exeperience of the spa area. Cynthia did my masage, she was amazing. i had alot of knots in my shoulders, she came in and took the time to get to know me and find out about my tense places. she was the best massage i had ever had. i would reecoomend this cruise for anyone. had the most day at sea for short cruise the ship is over all clean but it needs to be redone. The cabin sofa and chair need replaces old . Balcony needs complete remake floors , windows rails dirty rooms and public rooms all outdated. The food is awful they need a better quality of food on the daily portion of the menu chicken breast in a frozen chicken breast grill, awful. The breads at dinner main dinning room are to die for.The service we had in the pairs dinning room 1st seating table was great. Most everyone was helpful .I don't think I will not go on this ship again it was not one of my most fun and I have gone out of new Orleans twice and this will be my final time it is not the greatest port and the weather in feb is almost always bad cold or rainy.overall I give it a 3 stars Read Less

This is my fifth or six cruise with Carnival. My girlfriend didn't want to go back after they took the table cloths off in the dining room. First the Triumph - older ship, showing it's age, probably due for a refit. You could see cracks and broken things without working too hard at it. One thing we noticed with the Triumph was it's very difficult to get from one end of the ship to the other unless you go down into the stateroom areas and walk down, then take an elevator. Fewer places to just hunker down with a book and relax. No complaints about the staff - they smiled and said good morning and hi. I'd sprained my ankle in New Orleans the night before the cruise and had to get a cane to hobble on the ship. Many times, at the buffet, a staff member would offer assistances WHAT- No Serenity Deck???? This would be my biggest reason for not wanting to go on the Triumph again. The little yard apes are given complete run of the ship. My girlfriend and I are used to a serenity deck where we can chill and enjoy life without little rugrats around you. I love kids, but i love a place to escape them, and there is no such place on the Triumph. The Triumph has a great gym. We used it every day. Our stateroom was my first ocean view - it was huge compared to other staterooms I've had. The bathroom was big. We noticed immediately - NO REFRIGERATOR - what's up with that Carnival?? We found the alcohol reasonably priced, considering you're on a ship in the ocean. Neither of us are big drinkers so it wasn't a big deal. The dining room was nice - the staff was great. We only ate there for dinner once but I went for breakfast a couple times and the breakfasts were amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet was a buffet - plenty to eat. We don't ever eat the burgers at Guy's burgers. They look so greasy and sickening on people's plates, it clogs our arteries just thinking about it. The Burrito Bar however is a huge favourite. We used the pools and hot tubs and they were okay but eventually a gang of youngsters would find you and begin splashing, making noise and making the place uninhabitable. Entertainment was great - the New Orleans Jazz Tribute was wonderful and the singers and dancers were very talented. The comedians were both great and the magician was amazing! Full marks for entertainment. Peter - the cruise director, was the best cruise director I've had. He's a natural entertainer and he really got the audience engaged the last day at the main lounge. Excursions, pricey but you pay for an excursion that is vetted by carnival. We did the Discover Yucutan excursion and highly recommend. It needs, refrigerators (yes i know they'll never come back), a refit, a serenity deck. But with that said, we had a great cruise. Food, staff, entertainment and cabin were all great!! Read Less

We have cruised with carnival since 2011 and have usually had very good service with no complaints until now. It seems that carnival is changing things to make more money for them with less options for us. Slowly we have seen things change, first was no more robes in the rooms, on this cruise all of the TV stations had been changes. There are 25 channels, 16 of those are for carnival to try to sell you excursions or future cruises, 3 are cnn, the only news was of Donald Trump, HLN from California, 3 cartoon channels, and 3 old movie channels that plays the same movies over and over. Where are the channels from ABC, CBS, or NBC? We don't even ask for all, just one to get news from the southern US where most of us are from. Also the room service has changed, now to order room service after 10pm your only option is to order something that you have to pay for, you can't just order a sandwich and chips, also more money for carnival. When I went down to guest services the people in line at the diamond and platinum line were red and blue cards and I had to wait behind them(we are platinum) carnival will never say anything to them. Also , calling diamond and platinum to disembark first is a joke, red, blue, and gold cards come thru the back door of the restaurant where there is no carnival employee to stop them. These were not suite, or faster to the fun guest. Read Less

Our service from maruta, sherme, and rambat as are waiters and servers was excellent and enjoyed them. Very polite and friendly did there job very well and i will tell everyone i know about how nice it was. The fitness center was top of the line. The shopping on board and shops were nice. Both excursions i was on were good and service was extremely good too. Jimmy jack foundation was treated with respect and staff did a good job with giving us are time for our music, devotions and equipment moving. On deck staff was also very helpful finding places on deck. Everyone i asked always pointed me in the right direction and were polite. Food was tremendous again and there was alot of varieties of dishes. The head staff was excellent on explaining what we had to do to get off and in case a emergency what to do. All in all it was a great experience for me. Amen and God Bless Read Less

We are VIPF sailors. When checking in we were told that someone would come get us to board early. No one came. The Triumph Ship is maybe ready for retirement. It is very hard to get from one end to the other. Announcements were very hard to hear while on Pool deck. Could not understand what the great Peter was telling us. Rusty rails can be seen from the windows of dining room. Ceilings on Lido deck seem to be coming loose.Very poor sailing on Friday and didn't know what there was to do. When sailing in the past, a large daily sheet was given to tell us the temperature for the day and all the places we could go for activities. We found the library on the last night where we noticed there were games to play. That would have been helpful on that Friday when all activities were cancelled because of the rough seas. Cozumel day was great with excursion and beach time. Trip home was a normal sailing day but still had trouble with announcements. Noticed that not all of the entertainment was listed on the small tri-fold sheet. We were on the ship with a band called the "Sunset Strip" and never saw it listed with the entertainment. Dining staff were exceptional but we sat at 433 and could not see much of the two nights of entertainment, just heard it. Breakfast in the dining room was fabulous. Purchased and tried to use the online service that claims to be fast. Not fast or available to use in our room - only got signal on lido deck, and not user friendly. And with Friday having lots of cancellations it didn't update to keep up with changes. When I went up to the guest desk for some help the man there was very rude, talking to me like I was stupid.(don't remember his name) Read Less

This was a Christmas Present and although I wouldn't have picked the date (1/25 thru 1/29), because of the weather, the cruise was for relaxing - exactly what my husband and I needed. The seas weren't as calm as I would have preferred and there wasn't sunshine on our trip to Cozumel, but our Stateroom (6385) was very nice with enough room to move around, a balcony and a very comfortable bed (King). There was a variety of things to do besides sitting in the sun, so when we weren't resting, we had plenty to do. Room service was also very good and the waiting time was never a long wait. Anything we needed from Coffee to towels to a late snack , was brought with a smile. We decided before the cruise not to have a special dining time, so opt for the buffet instead. Breakfast and lunch gave us lots of options, but after the first nite decided to eat in Dining Room - Anytime Dining, which didn't give us as many choices as the buffet area, but the food was much better for dinner and was included in the price of the cruise. Our Service Team was EXCELLENT (Koten, Suteja and Wutty) and so we ate at their station every nite. There were several choices for dinner and everything we ate was delicious. I ordered a steak the last nite and it was cooked to perfection. We couldn't have asked for a better staff and we enjoyed visiting with each of them. Getting on and off the ship did not take long and we will definitely travel with this Cruise Lline again. Read Less
