This was my 8th cruise and my 5th with Carnival. This was my husband’s 3rd cruise, all with Carnival. We sailed on June 11, 2022 out of Port Canaveral. If you don’t want to read all the details, I will start by saying this cruise was a huge disappointment and we regret booking this trip. I could actually cry thinking about the money wasted.
Embarkation - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One highlight of ...
I have been on over 40 cruises . The Mardi Gras is a fantastic ship. One of the 2 best I have been on. The most variety in dining one could ask for on any ship.. The upscale Restaurants were better than Royal Caribbean. The ship was very clean and the service was excellent throughout. Entertainment was adequate but not quite as good as Royal Caribbean. They would do well to adopt the large ship ...
Been on 12 cruise though this ship might be to big. I was wrong easy to figure out. I’m 59yrs old and got around quite easily. Staff was awesome very friendly. Take your time and walk the ship lots to do and see on board. Will definitely do this cruise again. Getting off and on boat was easy. The shows were just like most shows, very entertaining. Lots of restaurants with many food options. Tried ...
For being Carnival's newest flagship with all the bells and whistles, I was expecting more. Unfortunately, my family and I ended our trip feeling less than impressed. If I had one word to describe my cruise, the word I would use is: eh.
From the horrible embarkation process which took two hours in the pouring rain, we had a feeling this was a sign of the times to come.
Embarkation:

This was my 23rd cruise, with Carnival being a third of those. I haven't cruised with Carnival in about 5 years and the concept of cruising that Mardi Gras presents is a welcome change (mostly).
Embarkation went fairly smooth in Carnival's newest terminal at Port Canaveral. Usual wait times, about an hour overall from dropping bags to stepping on board. Not bad for these days of Covid. Tip: ...
First let me say that this review is basically about the cleanliness of eating areas. I just went on Celebrity in November and I’m comparing it to that which I thought was excellent. Celebrity had staff waiting with hand sanitizer in all eating locations. No guest were allowed to touch anything to keep things sterile. I will also say that in my November sailing they were at 50% capacity. I found ...
This 5.21.22 cruise was super crowded. The Elevators were a covid trap, so small for a ship that big. The rooms/bathroom were very small. Napkins were like Auto repair rags. Lido deck too small for 6000 passengers food at buffet was awful. Not enough Hand sanitizer stations for so many people. The Pools were very small for the ship size. I didn't sleep right every night. The pillows were worst ...
Just our view of the cruise on this ship.

Bed was comfy, liked the cabin window and shelf
Good AC
Free on demand movies
Good storage and plugs for our needs.

The MDR no linens I felt like dress up I was dressed to go to Dennys. No night stand a pice of plastic attached to the wall. New ship I expected outlet by the bed for a cpap , nope extension. Garage rags for napkins in buffet & several dinning areas. Condiment buffet men with hairy chest no shirt reaching over the table gross. Put on a shirt. Ladies cheeks of their asses hanging out in dinning ...
I am not going to lie, I have had a negative impression of Carnival Cruises. My husband and I took a Carnival Cruise for our honeymoon and it wasn't that awesome. But that was a long time ago. When our NCL Escape cruise got cancelled 4 days before sailing, we were faced with going on Carnival or not going on vacation. We decided to go ahead and "suffer" through it rather than not go on ...
