Beautiful ship and awesome crew, but....
"The ship itself and the crew really made it a good voyage despite some shortcomings. We chose this cruise last minute when we decided that we would be okay since we were fully vaccinated, and the ship still had good cabins available (plenty of good cabins as it turned out!..."Read More

What a ship! Absolutely beautiful inside and outside. Lovely common areas, decor was light, bright and modern. Loved the Center stage area. Food. Excellent, to have the Asian, Italian and smokehouse all included was so good. Tried most things on board and it was all good. Even liked the buffet area which I thought was massive, we always managed to find a table. The Chicken place was good as ...

- Family of 5 on 5th cruise, first time on Carnival - Stayed in Excel Suite 11359 - highly recommend - spacious room, balcony and bathroom, good privacy and noise free, also came with free room service, priority dining (always seated immediately), free laundry, priority embarkation/debarkation, soda package, access to Loft 19 area - all these made the trip very convenient and stress free. ...

Beautiful ship, just a TON of people!

After being on several Carnival ships, I had been dying to sail the Mardi Gras since it was under construction. It did not disappoint. Absolutley beautiful from top to bottom, but be very prepared for A LOT of people! Carnival did a fantastic job spreading the various venues out to distribute the people as evenly as possible, as there was truly something for everyone, but any way you slice it, ...

It began as a trip to spend time with the family, but ended up being an interpersonal experience. I would like to make a few safety suggestions 1. The pools and hot tubs should have safety handrails 2. The bathroom doors do not offer the privacy needed for individuals using the facilities 3. And children as young as 3 years old are unsupervised in potentially dangerous locations on ...

The Excel suite was excellent, food not so great

The fare for 3 in an Excel Suite with Jacuzzi tub on wrap around balcony was $7500. The suite has a large living room, bathroom and separate bedroom. Plenty of storage in all the rooms. The balcony is very large. The food manager said that the quality of food has gone down hill since the corporate made a change to cut costs. Dining room service is french style. The buffet has not many choices ...

Mardi Gras Halloween Cruise OUTSTANDING

We chose this ship because it was the Newest XL ship. We were suppose to be on the first sailing out of Port Canaveral. But building and Covid Delays forced us to wait until Halloween of this year. It was well worth the wait. This was by far the best cruise we have had on carnival. The food was outstanding as well as the service. it took a few days to learn the ship but once we did it was ...

Never Again

I have cruised for a number of years now and on more than one cruise line. I have avoided Carnival but having heard good review about the Mardi Gras I decided to give the line a try. Never again. Embarkation was smooth and orderly. The best I have experienced. The penny pinching was amazing to me. I had a spa cabin and was never given body lotion: something you are given at Motel 6. ...

We did the Mardi Gras for the week of Thanksgiving. Overall impression is positive and would recommend this great ship. As with anything there were a few downs. We did a Port Canaveral park and ride a couple of miles from the port. We had a 12:30 – 1:00 arrival and got to the parking lot about 12:00 – the lines were really long and instead of waiting a couple of hours for shuttles to run back ...

Carnival has lost a customer for now.

Just for a little background. I have sailed on the Carnival (numerous ships) as Gold Member. I have also sailed on NCL, Disney and RCL too. Pros: • Boarding. We arrived by parking offsite and taking shuttle to Port Canaveral. Getting on the ship was easy and only took a few minutes. • Room Steward: Our room attendant, Eladio was friendly, we rarely saw him, and did a great job refreshing ...
