Main pool -- nice and warm. Kept it open in medium high seas, too.

Viking Ocean is the best
"Plenty of interesting things to do in port and on-board.Perhaps my favorite day in port was in Oslo when we explored on our own - the Akershus Fortress, tour of Opera House interior, and wandered around the Munch museum...."Read More

Good cruise on Viking. but with issues

Review for a South America Cruise on Viking Jupiter

Pros We enjoyed the ship and the atmosphere. The furnishing were tasteful and quite comfortable. Surprisingly we enjoyed the entertainment. It was fun and not over the top. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. The service and attitudes were really great. The Chef's table was very good. The cabin design especially the bathroom was exceptional. Room service breakfasts ...

Great cruise and great cruise line!

I had never been to South America and this cruise covered a big number of interesting places -- without being too long or having too many "days at sea". We saw a great deal in Chile, Cape Horn, Uraguay and Argentina in 18 days. The food, service, friendliness, quality, entertainment, cleanliness, activities, and facilities were all great! We had to pass on the Falklands due to safety issues, so be ...

An unforgettable cruise around the southern half of South America.

My wife and I have long been interested in seeing South America, particularly the chance to interact with all the wildlife. We chose the Viking Jupiter after a good experience with a previous Rhine River cruise, a preference for smaller ships and the unique itinerary. The Jupiter is a wonderful ship with a great crew, interesting enrichment programs and a relaxing friendly atmosphere. There was a ...

Disappointing South America Cruise with Viking

Review for a South America Cruise on Viking Jupiter

We had taken Viking's Mekong Delta cruise and had a great time so we booked the South American Cruise expecting a similar experience. While the ship was beautiful our cruise experience was sadly disappointing. The ship could not dock at two of 8 ports of call due to weather. This was not their fault but Viking made no effort to make up for it (on board credits, additional on board ...

This was my first cruise and it was more than I ever expected. Viking knows how to make you feel welcome and they now how to treat their guests! From the cabin boys to the head chef, everyone I came in contact with were genuinely kind and cared about how you were doing and if everything was to your satisfaction. My room was always in tip top shape...very comfortable and quiet. The food was ...

Viking South America cruise

Overall a very wonderful experience! The only downside was the air travel component getting to Buenos Aires (over 10-hour flight), and the return especially, booked via Viking, which had a transfer in Sao Paolo from Santiago, another transfer from Atlanta, back up to Seattle (a 24-hour torture session). International air travel has become a nightmare. I believe they purposely make it the most ...

First Viking Cruise - Not the last!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Jupiter

Our only other cruise experience was The Inside Passage to Alaska. After hearing rave reviews by neighbors and acquaintances, we elected to give Viking a try! Also, my wife, Nancy, was excited by 21 days of travel with NO packing/unpacking! Viking is impressive. Layout of the stateroom, furnishings of the Ship, eating options, selection, and training of the staff - everything has been ...

This was our 19th cruise, but our first on Viking. Previously, we've sailed on a number of the mainstream lines, as well as Oceania. Our experience on Viking was largely excellent, with a few minor cavils. Here's our list of positives and negatives: Positives: - Wonderful service attitude. They're always extremely accommodating - Beautiful ship. Like a fine, high-end hotel - Excellent ...

Wonderful Western Mediterranean Cruise!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Jupiter

The ports-of-call were perfect. Monaco was a highlight as was Barcelona and the Montserrat Abbey. We are so happy there was a late cancellation, and we were able to grab an awesome itinerary. As always, Viking delivers. The suite was wonderful. Breakfasts at World Cafe are always better than any other cruise line. Excursions are the best. Monaco and Sète in particular were over the top. ...

Very nice cruise. But that's all!

First off, the the cruise was perfect - the cabins, the service, the food, the amenities. The ports were generally nice - to take pictures of from the ship! But if you have trouble walking, forget it! For a cruise line that supposedly caters to the older crowd, there is NO accommodation for the even moderately impaired. Even when a shuttle bus was offered to get into town, it was pitiful ...
