First off let me say I was set on not liking the ship because I love her sister ship the Celebration. However with that said she sure did change my mind. I brought 3 of my granddaughters along with their boyfriends and we were originally going to sail on the Celebration. So this was not my first choice and I didn't think my girls would like it. But I was wrong. I purchased the Concierge package for everyone and it worked well as it always does on the Celebration. Ok back to the Classica, the food, we tried all the upcharge restaurants. We went to the wine tasting which was part of the package so they had samples of the pizza and it was to die for. So we did the pizza in the afternoon. The best pizza and I am of Italian heritage and I can't say enough good things about it. We tried the Rock Grill and that was a dining experience into itself. Great tender steaks and seafood. They do a presentation and the kids loved it. So now I have to critique the Admirals Club that was somewhat of a disappointment and here is why. On the Celebration the main dining rooms Stellar Prime and the Admiralty Club are very nice. Dark wood paneling, frosted glass dividers and big picture windows. First off the Admirals on the Classica is way too small to accomodate the concierge people and the overflow went to the Yellow Elder. Neither one of the dining rooms were nice looking. I am shocked because the rest of the ship is so elegant. They need to move the Admirals Dining Room to another part of the ship and make it as special as the Celebration dining rooms. Another criticism is the suites. The marble bathroom is beautiful and so it the balcony but the suites themselves are shabby looking at best. Unless they redecorate the suites, the next time I sail on the Classica I'll just take a regular cabin. I highly recommend this ship. I will sail on her again. I know this cruise line listens to their passengers and I know they will make the improvements I just mentioned because they probably have heard them before. One last thing, when they owned the little ferry ship the Bahamas Celebration, there was a cruise direction name Steve Zimmerman. Well, he was the greatest and they in their infinite wisdom brought him back as their comedian. They need to make him the cruise director again because I don't know who their cruise director is but I sure know Steve Zimmerman. Great time and can't wait to do it again. Read Less

Decided to take a 2 days cruise to Bahamas while visiting Florida. It was a very enjoyable time. We don’t know why we haven’t done this sooner but will definitely return. Embarking and disembarking was organized and quite simple . The staff was very friendly and accommodating in every section of the ship. Passengers were all there to have a relaxing good time and they did. The food was very good and the dining staff was happy to serve us and made sure we were satisfied Transportation to the beach was good and allowed us to spend as much time as we needed on the beach running every hour to and from our ship I gave our cabin a 4 rating rather than a five only because there was a sewage smell at times but nothing that disrupted our trip The staterooms and the ship itself was very clean. We have no reservations in sailing with them and will Read Less

Ship was clean. The room was clean. The food was good. The entertainment was good. The staff were friendly. What else could you ask for for $200 plus fees and taxes. Out the door price was just under $400 after taxes, fees, and tips for two of us. We were expecting much worse. If you want a 5 star cruise then you need to pay 5 star prices. If you are looking for a short and cheap cruise to the Bahamas then I would suggest this one. Bur please remember that you get what you pay for. Do not expect a 5 star cruise with 5 star dining and 5 star amenities. The only negative (not the cruise-lines fault) was a couple that were arguing very loudly late at night. But after a call it was dealt with quickly. They had upgrades available for dining and beverages like every other cruise line. Read Less

It's a great short getaway. The crew are fun and friendly, the food is great, the entertainment is good. No need for a balcony as the only time you are at sea is at night. They have great deals which is less than if you were to book a hotel, restaurants and entertainment for a quick getaway. People are always in a fun and festive mood. It seems like the crew is encouraged to make sure everyone has a good time. The bed was very comfortable. The ship is older without the bells and whistles of the newer ships, but the cabin with ocean view is very comfortable. Dining can be freestyle if you wish. We like the buffet which has good variety and an outdoor grill. Parking is only available at the port as there are no other parking areas around. The valet parking is very convenient and $17 per day ($34 total). Read Less

Cruised on the Grand Classica 9/10/2018 to 9/12/2018 WoW! That basically sums it up. My wife and I have completed 70+ cruises. Every cruise line on the South East coast of Florida except Disney. 5 years ago we tried the Bahama Celebration and it was terrible to say the least. It changed ownership and the Grand Celebration went to the Bahamas to be a hotel for the hurricane victims. Then it went to the yards for a makeover. What a change. This cruise was on the Grand Classica and WoW again. Two totally different decors. Grand Celebration is lively with lots of marble shiny floors and a lot of brass. Beautiful! These ships are very old and have been upgraded to beauty. The Grand Classica has the old ship charm of a lot of wood. Beautiful wood varnished railings vs brass and the floors entering the buffet are varnished wood. So clean and shiny. Wood used beautifully everywhere. Yes there are marble floors also, but to a minimum. Even our bathroom had a Teak looking flooring. So nice. Not plastic. As for the bath room. Much more roomier that normal cruise lines. What was excellent was the pocket door for the bath room. So going in and out you have no worry about hitting someone with a normal swinging door. The sink counter top is marble and very large. As is the sink and the nice faucet. Hot water almost instantly. It is not a squeeze cramped space at all. Our room was an ocean view with a very nice large round porthole window. The bed and linen was very nice. The towels are extra thick. Nice gold yellow color. If you look out the window on other ships you will see a lot of rust. Not on this ship. Yes there are sections that need a bit of work. But considering the age of this ship. It almost looks brand new. Looking on the out side. The ship is so shiny white and I saw no rust as on many other ships. Every day everywhere there are crew members cleaning everything. Non stop. At the buffet there was a person posted outside of the bathroom. Constantly making sure it was spotless and it was. All the public bathrooms were very, very nice. Colors were excellent and new looking. Now the food. Very good buffet and grill. Burgers are super big. Several selections of sausage not only hot dogs. What is nice about the buffet are the small narrow containers for the food. Not much in them but many next to one another and the food stays hot. Because they are small. Fresh replacements happen a lot faster than on other ships. Breakfast is standard and very good. Complementary dining is very good. My wife had the salmon, so big she could not eat everything. She loved everything. The second night I ordered the NY 12 oz. strip steak. It arrived fast and perfect. I really think it was 14 oz. it was so big. Delicious and very tender. $18.00 + 18% but well worth it. As for the crew. Unbelievable on both ships. So wonderful, helpful and smiling. Could not have been more pleasant. Many other cruise lines need a crew like they have. That is what makes the cruise wonderful. The two shows were good but the magician was fantastic. So many things to do while at sea. Not much on the ship to do in port. Relax, do the hot tub or pool, get some sun. Bingo was almost a wash out. Mon-Wed cruise only 250 guests. Casino, lots of new slot machines that are NOT on other ships. Nice to see different games. Two pools and hot tubs. Very nice and clean. Lounges everywhere. I mean everywhere. Before paying to see the comedian I strongly suggest you hear him at the two shows prior to purchasing tickets. Getting on and off the ship. Super fast and easy. One suggestion was a shuttle at the island dock to take you to the other side of the dock where all the action is. Otherwise you walk. It is a little distance, only thing if it starts raining. At one time they docked on the other side. The live music was excellent, singers were excellent and the drinks are super strong. Worth the price for sure. Those that will be cursing for the very first time. Read, read, read everything on their website so you are not blindsided on the extra charges. Most ALL cruise lines charge close to the same. One thing to remember. Your gratuity for each one in the cabin is NOT just for your room steward to turn down the bed. Remember, that is not all he does for you. The room is spotless for you. He makes up the room and makes sure you have clean towels for the next day. Turns down the bed that night and brings you all the papers you need for daily planning. It is for everyone that takes care of you on that ship. It is divided. Also in the buffet and dining rooms. If you request ice. He will make sure you have it full at all times. A small price to pay to be treated like royalty. I do recommend these two ships. A great price for a great experience and enjoyment. Usually you get what you pay for. In this case you get more than what you pay for. Most of the time they offer great deals. WE are only one hour from the port. So we will e doing more fill-ins with these two ships for sure. Happy cruising. Bon voyage. Read Less

chose this cruise for price & quick getaway being local. Food was not bad for cruise food. While the buffett was closed due to the low passenger rate they wouldn't even give us the courtesy of a cookie. We basically had the ship to ourselves being only 200 passengers on this cruise. Room was very clean & ship was being cleaned every minute 24/7. We did get the massage specials since we chose to not debark in Bahamas. $68 special was well worth the experience. Only complaint was we were inconvenienced first night due to no air conditioning. While our steward called maintenance 3 times no one showed up. Going to the desk to change rooms we wasted more time for this missing the shows for first night. Belen at customer service was not the least bit interested to compensate us with an room upgrade (which would have been good business since there were only 200 passengers & 450 rooms) or at least a drink coupon for our trouble. This left a bad taste considering …… The shows were actually very good for a 2 night cruise & very sorry for the performers that there were so few people aboard to enjoy them. I would definitely take this cruise again due to being a local & looking for a get out of town to relax. Read Less

The ship is old but it’s been done up to have modern features, however the cabin my boyfriend and I were staying in was located above the engine so when we were docking at both ports we were unpleasantly woken by the engine noise at 5.30/6am. The entertainment was awful, apart from the comedian which we were charged an extra $9 to see - even he was joking about how ‘crappy’ this ship is. We were unable to sit on the top deck without being constantly harassed to buy an $80 drink package. Eventually, after seeing that an 18% service charge is added to each drink, we gave in and decided to get the drinks package as it seemed better value. However we misunderstood the deal and it turned out we would get a lot less for our money than it seemed so my boyfriend asked for a refund which they finally unwillingly gave us. There’s nothing to do on the ship and the day we got to the Bahamas there was a tropic storm so we only spent 20 minutes exploring before having to seek shelter in a shop for the remainder of the day. The food is ok but only one of the restaurants is free to eat at and so it was overcrowded and lacked good service. A bottle of water cost nearly $5. Our room was really clean and the shower was surprisingly powerful. We were charged just over $50 each for gratuities including housekeeping and FUEL CHARGE (!?) Lastly, we had to wait an hour and a half to get through U.S customs when we got back in Florida (although this is nothing to do with the ship). If you are planning to go on this cruise then be prepared to spend A LOT of extra money and be charged for everything. You are better off paying for a more expensive cruise line because you will probably end up spending the same amount on this ship. Read Less

Much Older but refurnished vessel. It’s clean and staff is very friendly. The Staterooms were larger than expected. The dining hours and locations are confusing. The entertainment on deck is kinda lame. I found myself constantly comparing them to Carnival and Royal Caribbean. It’s such a downgrade, even the comedian called this cruise line the “Greyhound” of the Sea. The comedian and magician were the best acts, we witnessed. We experienced a Tropical Storm in Bahamas so spent the day on the ship. Which was tough, not much to do with two 16 year olds. I won’t travel on Paradise Cruiseline, ever again. The port offers absolutely NOTHING.. industrial area in Freeport. And it’s lacking a variety onboard, from food, activities, and etc. You get what you pay for!!! Spend the extra money to have more options and better entertainment on and off the cruise vessel. Please and Thank You! Read Less

This was the worse cruise ever. My husband and I decided to take a 2 day cruise with our children so they xould experience whats it like being on a cruise. My children had a horrible time and was crying ready to go back home. I felt awful because it was my childrens first time cruising and I wanted them to enjoy this cruise. When we first arrived the lunch meal was ok very bland but ut was ok. ALL the drink was horrible. The next norning the breakfast was horrible seemed like they was serving us old food. Everything was pretty much hard and stale. The lunch was horrible the burgers swimming in grease, sausage and hot dogs swimming in grease, the fries and ice cream was pretty much the only thing good. Dinner was horrible as well. The first night I ordered salmon and rice with vegetables the rice was sooo mushi. The second night i had the steak and spinach tomatoes with steak fries. The steak tasted like beef jerky, just hard and dry. Forgot to mention when i first got on the cruise and ate when they said our rooms was ready hours later my husband and i and our 3 kids one being in a stroller got stuck in the elevator for about 20 mins with another passenger my kids was crying and scared and me and my youngest baby cant be in tight area for long periods if time so u started having panic attacks smh and was sweating. They gave ne a bottle of nasty wine but all the other drinks on board was horrible. I did buy a sprite here and there but when i seen them adding 18% for each drink i just was like wow this is crazy drinks are akready $2.95 as is. Then i had a card issue i forgot to mention to ny bank i was going out of town so i guess when they tried to take 147 out my account for gratiuluties on my account my bank messaged me asking me was i aware of the charges then we got to deep in the water i lost service. Front desk was kinda rude abiut the situation telling me all i have to do is take out money from the atm its onky a 8.00 fee like no that is entirety to much money. The guy at the desk was more worried about just being paid smh. I had to get 2 rooms because of it being 5 of us. 1 of my rooms bathroom smelt so horrible we had to smell that for 2 days. That same room my sheets had sooo much hair and crumbs on my bed, ehich is just nasty. I called guest services they did come change my sheets but still thst should have been done before i arrived. Now my other room had someones boxers that must of got kicked under the bed and here my 1 year old bringing them to me smh i just freaked out smh thats nasty. Its not much for the kids to do on the cruise so we pretty much stayed in our room. The food was horrible the cruise was just horrible i spent over 1,000 and i just feel like this cruise was a huge scam. They chatge for everything. That 147 gratuity they took out my account they should have just left in my account the room was not ready and nasty so it was pointless for them to take the money out and im a believer of everyone getting tipped for there hard work but this was just nasty. The food was the worse but the fries and icecream so thats what my family pretty much ate. Very very disappointed. I had a few friends talking about going but i will tell them to stay far away.. Every 5 mins until you finally buy at 80 dollars then your charged 3 dollars each time you get a drink. the staff is incredibly rude and incompetent no one wants to do their job and staff does not look happy to be there. as soon a i got on the ship they where giving us the run around we added a credit card just for them to constantly asking us about information on the card then one lady said cash only so they took 200 of our cash and still used our credit card for over 400 dollars after they said they wouldn't charge our card. then when it came to the excursions they told us to meet at the top deck once we got there they staff told us to go back down wrong floor (they made an mistake) and we almost missed our tour bus and we were extremely late holding everyone else up the staff got made at us and started screaming when in all reality it was there fault!!! comedy show and entertainment show was boring as hell there nothing to do on the ship. we paid and extra 50 dollars for a queen sized bed and it was two twin beds push together we could barely sleep together on our anniversary! the staff was no helpful and very very rude we sat at dinner and couldn't even have an conversation the waiters rush you to eat and a wine guy in pushing his wine package on you we told him no several times and he continue to harass us. customer service there is no help there loss their themselves the ruined what would've been a great cruise for our time anniversary dont book oh and the charge 60 dollars for two room service and they didn't even clean the room! and the charge to get on and off the ship every little thing they charge for! restaurants are nasty 0 stars if i could Read Less

I'd seen a lot of negative reviews before going, but I always take reviews with a grain of salt, usually disregarding the 5-stars and the 1-stars and concentrating on the middle range. I would put this ship/cruise solidly in the 3.5-star rating leaning towards 4. It was an exceptional deal for 2 nights away, especially as a solo-traveler, I can't say that it would have been the same if their had been 2 people going, since that borders into more nights on most other lower cost lines. But I got a clean well kept ocean view cabin for ~$210 including taxes as mentioned by u/ravrnorl, this was over the weekend so there was plenty of partying to do, there where also plenty of places to escape the party and just relax if that is your preference. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities a similarly priced room on land would have, though I do recommend taking your own shower stuff, its a single pump all in one gel there. But I tend to take my own personal items wherever I go, so it wasn't an issue to me. The entertainment is well fairly entertaining and lots of different options, definitely worth checking out if you're bored with the activities going on up on the top decks. As mentioned the buffet is, a buffet.. its a lot of quickly made food to serve a lot of quickly lining up people, but the MDR and Admirals room are both really good, with excellent service and friendly helpful staff so I definitely recommend it over the buffet when it fits into your schedule. Freeport itself was pretty fun, though I didn't like the trip to the Lucayan Resort.. it was fine aside from the parents yelling at their kids for "causing a scene" when all I actually noticed was the parents causing a scene #ghettolife, but its not like that doesn't happen everywhere something is cost effective. I did enjoy the market there, and wandered around the docks/market for most of the day after I left the resort. Personally if you want a tour and something to do, I'd schedule the tour ride to the market and just skip the resort option. There are more excursions available on the docks that will still have you back in time to get to the ship by 4:30pm. Onboard, I met a bunch of really cool people and we talked about a varying spectrum of interests, all in all everyone was pretty friendly and interactive. Cons: In the end the only real big "Con" for me was that it is definitely short (2 days afk is not really enough), and there are some people that expect too much from their low cost cruise and/or treat their kids like poorly but again that happens everywhere and isn't exclusive to this cruise line (or life on land for that matter). There was definitely an issue with the tap-water (which is used to make all the mixes in the buffet area too) .. It's terrible. It doesn't taste like it's unclean, but more like it's over-cleaned.. that being said, its exactly the same flavor as the tap water in West Palm Beach, so I'm thinking that's due to them just using the city water to fill up and not adding any additional filtration. So I definitely recommend paying the $4 it costs for 32oz of bottled water. Read Less

We booked this cruise through a travel agency group at a great deal of $79 dollars per person. We thought that was a great deal so we jumped on it. It was ok really and for a test cruise which is what we used it for, to see if we could do a bigger cruise, it in itself was ok. But, the food was not so great. The better food was an up charge of course. Everything cost extra on the boat. Not much for kids to do there. A pool so small that I thought it was the hot tub at first. My son got to play ping pong on one of the two tables there one time before it was taken over by a large pack of 20 something kids that were rude and unruly. We saw a room where kids were playing video games, my son is 9 and asked if he could play but was told no because the games were for 13 to 17 year olds. I said why not shut the door then so other kids can’t see it? The smell of marijuana covered the entire ship pretty much anytime we left our room. I asked a staff member if anything could be done about it, but was told that he did not see a problem with it. My husband is a truck driver and is drug tested regularly, there was definitely a problem with it. We did an excursion to the Grand Lucayan resort, that was the best part of the whole cruise. The resort was beautiful! We had an issue with the on board cruise bucks where they closed our account which took an hour to resolve because of the language barriers between the me and the staff member at guest service desk. All in all, we made a good time out of it given what we had to work with. I will definitely not be back on the Grand Classica. Here’s to hoping our next cruise is better!! Read Less

Chose the trip as a first cruise for my wife. 2 days on the water is a safe way to determine if a longer Alaska or Eupopean cruise would work. Everything from the booking process through the disembarkation was smooth. The ship is older and has been refitted so it looks and feels modern. The cabin was nice, I jab a lower deck outside cabin that had a HUGE round port hole window. Queen sized bed, side tables, and a small TV (for what?) were in the room. The fridge wasn’t up to par and the head of housekeeping offered us an ice chest but we settled on a constant supply of fresh ice and that worked well. We ate at the Admiralty on the first night, which was an upgraded dining option but checked out the Ocean Buffet which looked substantial on its own. Night 2 we ate at the Rock Grill, on our next trip I’ll try to finagle the Admiralty both nights. The shows are so-so BUT the Adult comedian on our trip (Lou Remy) had the audience rolling in the aisles. If you’ve been to Freeport and hit Port Lucaya then there’s no need to spend anything on the excursions. I’m already planning our next Grand Classica trip. . Read Less

Price This was a perfect getaway cruise. I originally saw it as a groupon offer but by the time I made up my mind... sold out!! anyway I went to the source and found that a solo traveler did not have to pay the total cost of the room. Interesting . . . so I made that my choice. There was also a free $50 on board spending voucher that I received. Nice!! And yes I traveled alone. Alone but not lonely, It was a getaway trip after all. Embarkation The embarkation process was ok. Not a big hassle, I bought the drinks package. It did not make sense because you get a small glass at a time and the cost does not compute since there are drinks provided otherwise. Would not buy that again. I might as well buy just the one or two that I did end up drinking. The rooms are not ready until around 2-3 pm but you can choose to have the included lunch until the rooms open up. If you checked your bag, it will be delivered to your room after around 3pm. I would still pack a change of clothes or whatever I may need to use once I get in the room in my backpack next time. Staff/ Crew/ Service The staff/ crew were excellent in their customer service. Friendly smiling faces. I did not need much, but I was constantly being offered assistance. Food/ Dining I chose to take the offered dining choice included. Yellow Elder Dining Room. Very nice room. The bread was cold, they did warm it up for whoever chose that. The food was ok, not great, but I would not complain about it. The omlettes in the morning were the bomb tho. Entertainment Cannot speak on that. . . I did not partake. There was however always something to do. Most times for a price. I took walks around the ship, took in the views and that was fine for my getaway. Return Trip? Absolutely yes!! . I would absolutely go again. It is what it is and I enjoyed the experience. The cost was good, especially for a single traveler who wanted space. I thought an ocean view room for the price of one was great! Read Less

Please read the entire review, ignoring my age my what i say is entirely true. I choose this cruise because I and my family found a discount on Groupon for it. The overall price was about $800 for my parents and my sister. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The ship was tiny. The pool is so small that at first, I thought it was a hot tub. There isn't much stuff for people under 18 to do. I am 12 years old, and when my family was away, I had to stay at a kids club. It was horrible. The ages are 3-6, 7-12, 13-17. I couldn't go to the 13-17 club because they were mostly 17, and the 7-12 club was mostly 7-year-olds! It was such a depressing time. The room was so cramped. When I went, all I did was blow a balloon, draw a face on it, and pop it, watch a movie and that's it. I hated it. I made sure I didn't go back there. Also, the cabins were okay. They were pretty small on the most part and the ocean view was very tiny. My suitcase was bigger than the window. The bathroom was also okay. Very small. The shower was so small, that all you had room for was yourself and a washcloth, which I guess it the purpose. Also, DO NOT BE FOOLED by the squares you get in a package that says "deodorant." its actual soap. The soap dispenser in the actual shower is shampoo. Dining could've been better. All the food tasted bland, except for taco night. The rest tasted like old chewing gum. I would suggest dining at the Yellow Elder if you want some quality food. Entertainment is mostly reserved for adults and the service is awful. The only thing that was on the menu for room service was a Turkey Sandwich. Seriously?? Excursions were too expensive for the product. I went to Lucaya beach in the Bahamas and that was fun. There was a pool on a cliff right next to the beach and a DJ. The marketplace in the Bahamas was confusing. Many people had the same products at different prices. When you start walking away, they start lowering the prices, begging you to come back. Make sure to get what your money is worth. I don't plan on coming back at all. That's all I have to say. Peace out. Read Less

As a Cancer patient my doctor prohibited me from flying and taking long road trips. I saw a commercial for this cruise line and decided to give it a try because it was only two nights. It was the best decision for me. I enjoyed the same amenities from the big cruise lines, without the large crowds. There was no waiting in line. I enjoyed the room accommodations, the pool area and the restaurants. Loved the food and their drink packages with and without alcohol. I enjoyed the entertainment particularly the Tina Turner interpretation. Don’t be fooled by the price. I enjoyed myself to the point that two months later, I scheduled another get away with their sister ship the Grand Celebration. This was also an amazing experience. Both Ships my safe heaven away from the medical facilities. I highly recommend it for a quick and nice get away. Read Less

I did this cruise with my wife as a short honeymoon. The price was very reasonable and I was really skeptical at first. I've done other cruises and I did not think you could get so much on an inexpensive trip. The ship was very clean the crew was very helpful. The food was okay the drinks were really good. The dining is more casual than on say a Royal Caribbean or Carnival in the dining area but I'm ok with that, no reason to bring a suit. We did an excursion to Wyndham Resort on Grand Bahama Island and loved it, awesome place! Don't know if it was the time of year or what but the ship was maybe at half capacity as passengers go. The ship layout is rather standard for older cruise ships kind of like a Fantasy or Sovereign of the Seas. This cruise is definitely worth every penny. Read Less

It was a long weekend and I was looking for deals for vacation, as I was looking for a budget trip but due too long weekend the prices were high everywhere and sometimes dates was not available, finally i came to the page of Bahamas paradise, after going through the reviews I was really horrified with what people stating but still I took a chance to go, I reached port of palm beach carried our passport, the process to check in was simple and nice, we were offered cookies and drinks before we enter the actual ship. INSIDE SHIP:- bit scared by reviews I entered inside and everything was decent, decent enough to praise everything for a budget trip, rooms took some time to be ready, so meanwhile we took a look to other sections, the upper deck was nice, nicely organized everything was good. still I was looking for something worst would come up but fortunately no, everything from entry to deck, rooms were much bigger, nice staff, decent dinning with good food, even they had option for indian food. so in short i would say u name a place in the entire ship and that was all decent, nothing bad nothing worst. but yes if you are looking for v lavish and fancy vacations than you need to pay high. Dinning:- our service staff,Randy, v v decent, he even asked us after our food that if we want to taste something extra, so delighted with his service. Shore Excursions:- affordable and good. Don't believe the bad reviews it never ceases to amaze me how people write such bad reviews and then after I been on a Cruise, a Hotel, or a Destination I think what were they talking about? This boat is very nicely built in Italy and it shows. It is just a little more elegant. The Food was fantastic in the main dining room as was the service. Our waiter Jaquim I believe his name was was at our beck and call we wanted for nothing. The cabin (We had a Port Hole view) was good sized as was the bathroom and the port hole was large. The entertainment was very Good we especially liked the Diana Ross/ Tina Turner singer she was great as was the show in the Main Theater. The show changed and we went both nights and both of the shows were great and very different. We even opted for the Adult Comedy show the second night and Laughed so much I almost hurt myself. I strongly recommend an excursion if your are on this boat or any boat for that matter that stops at Freeport. Unlike most of the Bahamas Freeport/Grand Bahama Island is not just for Tourists but is Half Tourist and Half industrial. Unfortunately the Port is in the Industrial section a good half hours drive from the Lucaya Tourist Area. So if you want to get off ship it pays to do an excursion and enjoy the free bus ride. The excursions were plentiful and reasonably priced with choices ranging from a Day at a Resort to Para sailing, snorkeling, Feeding Sharks, etc. etc. Lots to chose from. For the money you cant beat this cruise we had 6 in our Party and rented 3 staterooms every one had a Great Time! Read Less

My husband 2 kids and myself literally just left this boat! We had a great experience, lots of fun, laughs and family memories. We have already talked about booking our next cruise. The staff was not extremely friendly, but not rude either. The food was ok... not bad.. many food choices. We checked in our bags, they were all delivered to our room within 1.5 hours from boarding, which we thought that was really good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Room service was amazing. They offered drink packages for alcoholic and non drinks, this is a great way to save money. The kids club was also great. Our kids were excited to attend and didn’t wanna leave. The only thing I wish they had more of was scheduled activities. They had a few.. not many. We have cruises on other cruise lines and it seemed to be a party going on somewhere at all times. Overall, we are extremely satisfied. Thank you all for a great family vacation. Read Less

The cabin was comfortable, and, we took the package for 10 drinks, which we think was well worth it. We had so much fun seeing Michelle perform we never got to any of the shows, or casino. All the music after her was good as well. I hope when we go back its all the same. We took the excursion to Lucaya, they give a tour of the island, we had a knowledgeable guide who then took us to the beach. Absolutely like I remember it from years ago, beautiful. We wanted to have lunch at the outside bar but there wasn't enough room for us to eat. They could use a few more tables. There wasn't a big variety on the menu, but we made do. Read Less

Time Availability, and Budget all factored into my choosing this cruise, since I was already in West Palm for other travel. I did not want to be gone long, and the ship is brand new and from Italy, so I wanted to check it out. The ship did not disappoint. Unlike the mega cruisers offered, it had quaint charm and beautifully decorated throughout. You walk into the atrium with a Murano type glass sculpture and a up looking view 9 decks above. It was spotless. In fact, I travel globally often, and have not seen such attention to cleanliness detail from a staff like this ship's in a long time. The elevator buttons glisten, the floors are polished, the rails are varnished every day, and the carpets, upholstery, curtains, tables in public areas all were as clean as my own living room at all times. The Elder Yellow dining room was really nice. Food was average. Salmon first night was great, others had beef which was overcooked and tough. Service was fantastic, exceptional staff, every attention to detail one would expect, and beyond for the price of this cruise. Buffet: If you know Golden Corral restaurant, it is pretty much the same thing as far as quality and selection. No other way to describe it. Not bad, not good, just food. Soups were actually very good though. Seafood Gumbo and pepper pot very tasty. Breakfast had omelette station and what you would expect from Shoney's or Golden Corral. The area to eat at the buffet was nice both inside and out on the back deck of the ship. So food aside, the views were great, and service good as well. They have burgers, and hotdogs, fries, etc... outside as well. They were good. The ship is not overly large, a pleasant adult pool with two aft hot tubs overlooking the stern was really nice when leaving port. You can sight see and Jacuzzi simultaneously. Hot tubs were very clean and well maintained, as was pool areas. The second pool is the "activity area" pool and kids enjoyed it, my son won two contests and got virgin bahama mama's. So the other amenities are as follows: My cruise had 600 booked guests aboard. It was half capacity, you can't fault the cruise line for non participation in the events they put together, so here it goes: Casino was clean, smokefree, and what you would expect, nice new slot machines. Front room from there had awesome Latin band perform all night, they rocked. Front of ship crows nest nightclub was well decorated, had a modern dance floor with lights, smoke, etc... and a banging system with DJ but nobody went! Dead empty, not the cruise lines fault. The main lounge was like being in Monte Carlo, well decorated, tasteful seating arrangement, very open, airy, and great public space. Saw Donna Summer singer, was good. Night band was not that great though. The big shows were fantastic! No lie, they were better than the mega cruisers shows I have seen. Each night, same performers, totally different show. My teens had a teen area that was well thought out and a big space with full time staff to supervise. X-box, dance floor, etc... all for them. Went to Lucaya Beach on excursion, was pleasantly surprised by humor filled tour guide with microphone on our double decker open air bus ride to the resort. Very organized, safe, and gorgeous beach. Would do it again. The port itself has no reason to disembark, unlike Key West where you disembark and go on foot, there is literally nothing at this port but industry. USA Customs was slow and terrible getting off the ship at the end of the cruise. Waited an hour with only 50 people ahead of me. This has nothing to do with cruise line. Here is the thing, I feel bad for the bad reviews, everyone complaining seems to lack simple reading comprehension skills. How did you not know about drink vouchers, included vs non included amenities etc... BEFORE purchasing and boarding? I set expectations on what I paid for and knew other fees would follow, as is customary to cruisers, like gratuity, tax, etc... Being shocked about cruise economics is a newbie problem. The staff truly cares, Alex the cruise director is straightforward and humble of his beautiful ship. He asks everyone to fill out comment cards so "they can get better" and I do believe they want to, there is a sincerity in every cruise staffer I engaged with, my fellow cruisers were a true representation of South Florida with about 50 - 60 percent Black and Latino and about 70 percent under 50 if those things matter to you. Everyone got along, no issues whatsoever or bad vibes from everyone enjoying there getaway. Everyone greeted each other on the jogging track with friendly hellos as I passed by. Give this cruise a try and keep expectations reasonable and you will definitely enjoy yourself. I am not an unsophisticated traveler, been all over the planet, and my family came away from this experience smiling and enjoying the memories. Read Less

To be honest I didn't have high expectations for this cruise and after reading some reviews, I knew to go in with an open mind. I will say, I was wrong. The Grand Classica was an incredible experience. The embarkation process was simple and the attendants were friendly and helpful. There were a large variety of foods available and everything my husband and I tried tasted good. The complimentary seating restaurant has delicious. My personal favorite was the Cajun Broiled Fish Fillet and Shrimp. Just thinking about it, my mouth salivates. Our cabin and ship was clean and there was always someone willing to help answer questions or guide us in the right direction. While on the cruise, there were tons of entertainment and activities available. One of my personal favorites were a Latin band playing meanwhile guests danced. When we arrived to the Bahamas, we decided to spend the day at the all inclusive Wyndham Grand Lucayan. The food was delicious and the alcoholic beverages were good quality with premium alcohol. We spent the day enjoying the pool, hot tub and the beach. The weather was wonderful, warm waters and sunny skies. My overall experience was great and I would highly recommend this cruise if you are looking for a relaxing weekend gateway. Read Less

We we’re so excited for this to be our first cruise together. This cruise ship is awful! Do not cruise on this ship! It has absolutely NOTHING to do on the ship. The food was horrible! They charge you for EVERYTHING. Total trip was 384 total for 2 people. They charge you for alcoholic beverages 82.50 for 10 drinks. If you have cash your cash is no long useable once you get on the ship. If you use cash is a 100$ dollar per person deposit to put down. For non-alcoholic beverages 34.50 an 18% charge on EVERYTHING!!! Once again do not pick this cruise! They charge 25.90 per person to clean the rooms. That’s not even included on how much we paid for gas to and from. We we’re charged an extra 244$ just for 2 nights. Oh Yeah and we didn’t even get off the boat!!!! The excursions are not worth it. When you get off the boat is only 2 little store and 4 to 9 miles to a beach! My whole birthday weekend was horrible!!! Literally you have to PAY FOR EVERYTHING. Non-refund for ANYTHING YOU PURCHASE on the ship. The crew members do not speak any English not one person! Horrible weekend! The breakfast was rewarmed the next morning. The line to exit the ship is awful! It says we dock back in West Palm Beach at 7am we didn’t, we didn’t get back until 7:30am the line to get back In The US is horrible they need a better system. Once again do not book this cruise the worst Birthday weekend I have ever experienced! The cleaners only cleaned the room for ONE day which was Saturday and everyone is off the boat by 8:30am on Sunday so why are they charging for 2 days of cleaning. The food was put up at a certain time. Everything stopped at 12:30. No need to buy the drink specials they tell you there’s no water on the ship but it is, try not to drink the water because it’s NASTY, All the water is connected!!! Also parking is 19$ a night 6/8/2018-6/10/2018 Read Less

I have cruised 13 times with RCL, NCL, Celebrity, Holland, & now Paradise. Exceptional experience for three peaceful days on Grand Classica! Easy embarkation & disembarkation with a passport. Fast valet parking only $19 day. Sailed 6/6/18-6/8/18. Spectacular ship, spotlessly clean, huge public areas, and beautifully decorated. Inside room 4067 was large and refurbished nicely. Comfortable beds. -Food on buffet was good and better then expected for lunch. Staff was always cleaning. Deserts good. The Zitti pasta was a surprise. -Yellow Elder dining was fast for anytime dining. Wait staff was quick to adjust to your needs. Waiter brought us extra entrees with out us asking (Impressive for two males!) Delicious food. Great deserts. You have option to purchase lobster or rib eye for additional price. See no need to pay extra since the included meals were great. ( Ok some one complained rolls were a bit stale. I did not care, since eating rolls was not my primary food option) - All staff always smiling and gracious. Any questions were answered with a smile. You always see staff cleaning. Every area of ship shinned with pride from staff. - Drink package that was a great value. (Do not want to get bartenders in trouble, but they always added extra alcohol!) -They have a nonalcoholic drink with cucumbers and limes that imitated a mojito!!! Was afraid first to try because of the cucumber. This drink is the "Bomb"!! I hope I can find this drink on land!! -Two separate pool areas were nice with abundance of lounge chairs.(They were in process of refinishing teak pool deck. Ship will then sparkle as a ten star) _ "THE BEST PART" The two shows in Legend Theatre with magician Neil Crosswell. Singers were of Broadway quality. Choreographer created an original show that was not "cruise ship funky". ( If you cruise regularly you know what I am talking about!) I would pay $60.00-$100.00 to see this show on land. Neil's magical act was incorporated into the music. Yes he pulls off some tricks that will leave you speechless!! Singers were beyond exceptional!!! _Tina Turner & Donna Summer tribute singer Sharon Johnson, Latin Band Azucar, DJ in the pool area all exceeded expectations of live high quality entertainment. -Grand Classica, Paradise Cruise Line offers a relaxing cruise for a incredible price. I do not work for cruise line. I was so impressed with the quality of this cruise I wanted to take time to share my wonderful experience with a cruise line that is really trying hard to give you a value cruise on a budget!!!
