This message is to warn anyone planning on having a Carnival cruise wedding to NOT DO IT! If it weren’t for my family and friends the entire memory would be a disaster! I planned a carnival cruise wedding on the sensation on July 30,2019. Upon deciding that I would have the wedding with Carnival I submitted all my documents necessary so that the wedding planner on board would be informed of all the details I requested. I paid for the Carnival Classic Platinum package. I had 12 cabins booked full of guests in addition to the suite I paid for. Upon arriving on the ship July 29th, I was told that I’d meet with my wedding planner Victoria right away.. that didn’t happen. I sought her out for the first hour that I arrived and she was not available. She finally reached out to me to let me know that we would meet later in the evening to discuss the wedding details. We met and she seemed friendly, I told her that I wanted to start the ceremony with a bible reading from my brother and proceed with the wedding by the captain. She agreed. I paid for a DJ and requested a blend of music. She agreed. I was told everything would be punctual and you can imagine it wasn’t. The day of the wedding comes and it was set to begin at 2pm. I waited outside the lounge for 20 minutes because the LOUNGE WAS NOT SET UP by her nor the staff responsible. (I have the entire wedding recorded with time stamps in case anyone on Carnival wants to fight me on this). The ceremony begins .. guess what? My brother isn’t able to start the ceremony with the Bible reading. There was no order after the ceremony ended and I walked out, the wedding planner asked if I wanted my brother to do the reading. I said yes so I walk back down the aisle and then leave. Already chaotic and awkward but I deal with it. I was told to stand outside to be reintroduced.. the bar should have been opened for my guests by 2:30 being that I paid for a full hour of open bar. It was 3 pm I was waiting outside to be introduced and the bartender with the most disgusting attitude refused to serve my guests drinks. I also had “specialty” drinks that came with the package she also refused to make them. Her attitude was horrible and mortifying. Again, I didn’t want to ruin my moment so I just rolled with the punches. During the reception we had the cake cutting ceremony. The staff serving us did not provide my guests with cake! They had to cut pieces for themselves!! We also had leftover cake from the reception, my wedding planner said they would deliver the leftovers to my cabin.. I never received that either. The DJ, that I paid extra for played nothing of a mix I requested. Possibly a total of 3 songs at a low volume nonetheless. Although they ran late, they did not hesitate to end the reception at 3:30 on the dot. To the point that I requested one last drink and the bartender slammed the door in my face. I wish I knew her name because I truly would personally send her a note of what a horrible person she is. So I lost out on time at my reception for not being introduced until 3 and can’t even get an extra drink although we were robbed of 30 minutes.. nice right? An experience you paid for! At the end of the reception I left to take pictures. My cousin who was helpful throughout the wedding planning and brought souvenirs and extra decor told me that The wedding planner also was nasty and demanded that She clear everything off the table and tell all the guest to leave. She said these words" you need to get everything off this table and clear out your guest out of this room right now". I’m beyond distraught with the treatment of carnival and its staff they ruined a moment and day I’ll never get back. Not to mention spending $10,000. I paid for a service and expected to receive instead got treated as an inconvenience. In addition, no one on the ship is willing to accommodate your complaints or even care to hear you out. Carnival should be embarrassed at their service or lack their of. Read Less

There is not enough room to share how horrible this cruise was. First, the dock member lost my luggage as I checked in, and later found out they wrote the wrong room number on my tag and set my luggage outside the wrong door. It took me 5 hours to find it. Then. I paid $85 for internet service to do grad school homework, but the internet didn't work. The staff was very rude, the ship was old and had signs of floor damage (holes below the carpet), the food was fine day one, but they served the same thing every day. Guys burgers saved the day. The entertainment was extremely disappointing. I could only do kareoke and comedy so many nights and all other entertainment was a 2 day rotation. The ship basically looked like a ghost town. This company basically will nickel and dime you to death. I even had to pay $50 for soda for the week! The excursion times were very short and the communication of the ship was very poor. The only enjoyable moment I had on the ship was playing blackjack at the casino. We also really liked our housekeeper. He was excellent! There was nothing to do for children, and the 3 pools advertised was one short and 2 mini circle children's pools. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SHIP! PAY THE EXTRA FEW BUCKS - I guarantee you will be happy you did. Read Less

This was my first cruise. As we entered the ship, everything seemed alright. When we became more accustomed to the ship, I started noticing things. The chairs on the main deck with bird feces on the side and parts around the main deck smelled like sewage. Very disgusting. The buffet food was mediocre and best and the crew rarely smiled. The stench of weed engulfed the hallways, just to paint a picture of the type of people were on board. Everything was overpriced from $25 dollar mini sunscreens, $270 massages, and $3.75 waters. It was definitely not an “all inclusive” experience. When we docked to go to Jamaica and the Grand Cayman Islands, we had about 3 hours to acutually enjoy ourselves as waiting in line and disembarking took a lomg time as well as returning back on the ship. I will say that the cruise director Dion was very energetic and engaging with the passengers as well as the cleaning crew who did a great job. Overall, if this is what cruises are like, I’m never going back on one again. Read Less

The food was terrible (except guys burgers) the staff never smiled. Ever. I never got enough sleep due to the children running up and down the halls all hours of the night. Slamming doors all day and night. It was enough to drive me mad. I was angry the whole 5 days. I'm sure I will NEVER go with carnival again. The whole ship was filthy!! Never again.never again. There was a piece of pizza on the floor for four hours being kicked around. Staff just walked over it over and over again. This was just frustrating to say the least. I sat and watched 20 children swim in the pool for hours and not one of then got out to go to the bathroom!!! Yuk!! Read Less

The entire ship smelled like sewage, which made it hard to enjoy sitting outside at all. Our room smelled. I had a headache most of the time. The door to the dining room completely came off in my hand. There were spit balls on the ceiling of the room, there was a ring in the toilet the entire time as if it hadn't been cleaned, one of the lights in the bathroom was old and broken, the towel rack was broken and left on the floor by housekeeping, our toilet broke on several times which prevented us from flushing the toilet, the drain in the sink had a slimy mildew on it which caused the sink to stop up and drain slow. The towels had stains on them and were dingy. The carpets in the halls sunk in when you walked. It was a mess to say the least. I have reached out to their customer service department about this several times and I'm still waiting on a response. I even made complaints on the ship, and was never given the option to move. Just got back from this cruise. I am a platinum member. Worst ship in the fleet. Rooms was terrible. My friends had a hole in the floor in their bathroom. Walking around the ship there was a smell of raw sewage. The ship was dirty and rusty all over. Not like other cruise lines. Seems like Carnival doesn’t care about quality. They just want to offer a cheap cruise to the masses. Took the beach house excursion in Amber Cove. Staff never told us there was a resort area right in the port. Carnival did credit us for half the excursion. If you want to go on Carnival I recommend the Glory,Breeze,Dream,Vista or Horizon. Entertainment needs to be upgraded. They gave the same shoes all the time with entertainers that Simon would make fun of. Watching the shows is like pulling teeth. So stay away from Sensation and spend s little more. Read Less

My husband, daughter, son in law, our 8 year old granddaughter and myself cruised from Miami to Key West, Cozumel, and back to Miami this year from Nov 1 thru Nov 5. The cruise itself was fun and enjoyable. There were some issues with some minor things- towels looking yellow instead of white, rusted toilet, beds uncomfortable, dining room service was good, but extremely slow getting food out. All entertainment was really good and my granddaughter really enjoyed the slides. It was the disenbarkment that was a nightmare. When we were all getting off the boat my husband and myself was rudely pulled out of line and we were told that my husband was being detained by customs and we were going to be escorted. We were so confused and didn’t have any idea what was going on. This lady that was screaming and pushing everyone out of the way to get us where she wanted us to go. She was screaming at me telling me I was to go outside and wait on my husband. Once we got to the point where we were going to be separated she pointed to another rude lady and told me to go “over there”. Once I got there this second lady told me I was in the wrong line and sent me back to the original lady and she began screaming at me and said “I TOLD YOU to go over there and to leave” I was trying to tell her I was trying to leave but I was sent back to her. After my husband was taken away from me I finally made it outside. Finally my husband game out and said that there was another person with his name that had a felony warrant out on him and they THOUGHT it was him. After having policemen surrounding my husband, finger prints, taking his picture, looking at his license, birth certificate they figured out he was the WRONG Person. This nightmare lasted over an hour. I was devastated and was scared to death not knowing where my husband was. I understand people have jobs, but what happen to the hospitality, professionalism, kindness with people? Carnival embarrassed not only us but themselves. This far from being over.... but I wanted to share this so you can be prepared if this happens to you. Read Less

This is our 5th cruise and 2nd time cruising with carnival. Our first cruise was with carnival and we had an amazing time back then. However, this time we were very very disappointed.I am going to be direct and concise so I will make a list. 1. Back of the ship was rusting and overall the ship was poorly maintained. 2. The food is my biggest problem. 8 different types of dishes were served at dinner, lunch and of those 8 were meat! No taste, low quality food for guests that paid $400+ a trip which eating makes a big part of it. The burger place was meh. Burgers had no taste, fries were badly seasoned. The Peruvian guys working in were great though and would go an extra step to make us happy. 3. The Alcohol and Beverage package. Most cruises have open bar beverage packages or unlimited drinks. Carnival imposes a 5 min wait per drink and 15 maximum. How greedy can they be? Plus most alcohols were not grade. Beer was overpriced compared to Royal and Norweigan, drinks consisted of a single shot and mostly ice, ice and more ice. If you tell a bartender to put more alcohol they give you a disconcerting look and tell you no that's not allow. 4. The cards, the greatly annoying cruise cards! I paid for my father's drink beverage so the old man can drinks few water down mojitos. By the end of the night he still had 11 drinks left in his package. Me and my wife used ours so every time I tried to use my dad's cards, which I paid for and we have the same last name, they would treat me in such a manner and deny me drinks. This one bartender took the card checked the photo, slammed in front of my seat and ignored me while he went to another customer. Extremely rude! I have never been in a cruise that has such poor quality in both itinerary and service. The food was disgusting, the drinks were poorly made, the service was cold and rude at the bar areas and overall every chance they get Carnival tries to scam you in either extra chargers to your card or some weird excuse to make you pay. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Read Less

If you are thinking of travelling on Carnival Sensation please DONT If you are thinking of booking any Carnival ship please be aware if you encounter any problems your concerns will be ignored. I have waited several weeks to post my review to give Carnival customer services time to redeem themselves. But they have not. My advice is please think before spending your hard earned money booking a cruise on this ship as it may be memorable for all the wrong reasons. This is the first time in 20 years of cruising I have felt the need to complain. On sailing we reported smoking on a nearby balcony (it appeared to be Marijuana) to our steward who said it would be reported immediately as this was very serious (it was not) We raised a security issue with regard to a group of minors on our deck, on more than one occasion some of the children in the group appeared intoxicated. So had either brought alcohol onboard or were being served by staff despite being clearly underage to drink. If security officers were visible this may have curtailed their behaviour. Other issues were the state of the cabin the bed was uncomfortable with bedding that was stained and smelt of others peoples sweat, we had to wrap pillows in towels to try to use them. The back of the boat smells constantly of sewage. The toilets do not always empty on the initial flush, sometimes taking several seconds even up to a few minutes before emptying. One day the toilets did not work at all, we could not use the bathroom to shower as other people’s sewage had backfilled up to the brim of the bowl and the smell may us gag. We were advised to use public restrooms but these also had toilet bowls full of sewage so we had to wait until we left the ship. To keep this boat sailing with continuing inadequate toilet systems must be contravening all health and safety legislation and putting passengers at risk of serious illness. Most hand sanitisers onboard are also empty and did not appear to be refilled throughout the whole 5 night voyage We complained on board and were treated with complete disdain and rudeness by guest service staff. I sent an e-mail to Carnival and only then were we called to a meeting with guest services We met with Carol-Anne and several very pleasant officers (I assumed looking at other reviews since leaving the ship that Carol-Anne is busy with these meetings on a regular basis). We were advised that our cabin steward had a duty to inform his superiors when smoking especially if it is alleged to be Marijuana on board is reported to him and that Carnival in turn must report this to the federal authorities. As the smoking continued every night until we docked I assume this did not happen even after our meeting. With regard to the toilets we were advised “it’s a problem very occasionally and possibly it was a passenger putting things into the bowls” but as we (and Carnival) are fully aware from looking at complaints this ship has had for many months and continues to have problems with the sewage disposal system onboard To sum up this ship should not be in service it is a health hazard and the fact that Carnival has not had a mass outbreak of illness on board is down to luck not good management. The ship is dirty with staff that do not seem to care. The only people we encountered that were polite and friendly were the ladies in the anytime dining restaurant.. All other staff seem to treat the passengers as an inconvenience. I actually feel very sorry for them at least we could escape after 5 days but they have to deal with ongoing complaints on every sailing and live onboard this outdated ship. We were offered a derisory 15% discount off a future cruise but I would not sail with Carnival ever again so this is rendered useless.I sent my comments to Mr Arnold Donald’s e-mail address and received this reply “ Thank you for following up with Mr. Donald regarding your recent cruise experience. He has shared your letter with me and asked that I respond on his behalf.” So apparently Mr Donald is aware of all the problems on board the Sensation and is still happy to take bookings for the foreseeable future. July 30-August 4, 2018...I decided to take my son on a cruise the week before he went off to college. We were so EXCITED. I had cruised before, but he had never. The boarding of the ship took less that 15 minutes, so I thought wow this will be great. HOWEVER...We got to our cabin and the toilet was dirty. We called the cabin steward. He and the supervisor came and began cleaning the bathroom. I begin filming. The supervisor said, "We are cleaning please do not film." I replied it should have been cleaned before we arrived. Then, they went to flush the toilet and realized...there was no water in it. So, they called a plumber. He fixed it. The next morning, again there was no water. So, we waited for the plumber. An hour later, he fixed the toilet. We returned later that evening and again, there was no water, so we had to use the public restroom. Finally, he returned and fixed it again. The next day we went on our excursion which was a disaster as well, but we got over it. Only to return to our cabin and the carpet was completely wet....The toilet had leaked. So, the plumber came again. The next morning, we left to shore and when we returned we were not able to get into our cabin. The Steward tried and neither was he. Thirty minutes later, someone came and said the batteries had shorted out and they have to remove the digital panel to reset it. This took another 30 minutes to fix. We went on our way to try to enjoy ourselves while we waited. We returned and THE TOILET was not working. So, for all of our troubles, we received a dink coupon and $50 cabin credit...Are you serious!! Let's not talk about the food.....Previously on a cruise the captain's dinner was the best night...NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY an additional $20 if you want anything special. This was my son's first cruise and supposedly our time together before he leaves. It was Horrible. Horrible Horrible. Each time I had to go to guest services and wait in line for an hour or more. They have 2600 people on board and 2 people working guest services. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.....The ship was old, the windows in our ocean view were so dirty we could not see out of them. Some of the railings on deck were taped with blue caution tape. This is a horrible ship. UGH! Read Less

I recently sailed on the Carnival Sensation from 07/07/18 - 07/12/18. Upon boarding the ship there was a very strong sewage smell. We initially thought it was the ship emptying their tanks, however as the cruise progressed the smell continued. At that time I chose to not let it affect my vacation, while annoying I wanted to have fun. My cousin was getting married on the ship. On day 3 my husband and I realized we were showing in brown water. I immediately stood in line at Guest Services. I was offered an apology and a plumber promptly came to our room to resolve. He ran the water and it was clear for one minute, then turned brown again. I went back down to guest services where I was offered a steak/lobster dinner for my troubles. I said I was not satisfied with that, that I wanted a credit. I was told an investigation would be opened and someone would get back to me. On the next day, no one got back to me so I stopped at guest services and was told a plumber would be to my room, someone came again and said it was all fixed. But while he was standing in our bathroom we filled the tub and my husband asked him if he would shower in that, he said no sir and said he would let Guest Services know. At this point I went down to Guest Services again and was told I needed to speak with Connie. After another visit to Guest Services (4th time now), Connie and I talked, she offered me $150 credit (I paid over $4,200) for this cruise and she would reimburse me for $100 of charges already on my room. I was told this was the most they could offer from on the ship. I said no ma'am that wasn't good enough. It was a slap in the face for Carnival to tell me they couldn't fix the problem and Connie's response to me is that "Corporate was being stingy with offering any credits on this cruise despite the sewage leak". So it was confirmed there was a sewage leak and I was showering in brown water. How did I know that I was not showering in sewage? I don't!! And I wish I would have thought to take a sample. On Day 4 after 5 visits to Guest Services we finally saw Carol-Anne or Carol-Lee, I can't remember her full name. Carol saw the discoloration in the water and immediately apologized, offered an onboard credit of $150 per person and 25% off our next cruise. My husband promptly told her that given the lack of customer care we were provided with and the fact that Carnival was finding it acceptable that we showered and brushed our teeth in brown water, we would never been returning. As a side note, as soon as we discovered the brown water, we were all forced to brush our teeth with bottled water. I told Carol I would settle for nothing less that half our cruise fare returned to us. In the end we received $900, to which I indicated to Carol that was not enough and she said that is all she could offer on the ship. Remember earlier that I was told I could only be offered a total of $250, but now I am being given $900. Carol told me to contact Corporate when I got off the ship. I have since called Corporate, sent a message on facebook and an email. Today I received a return call from Vanessa, she was professional as she could be, but told me she didn't have a manager that I could speak with, that I was speaking with the person that she needed to speak to. She refused to provide me a Manager's name to speak with. This is terrible customer service. When someone asks to speak with your manager, you provide your manager's name. After filing this complaint, I will be contacting the EPA and Department of Health. Carnival you have failed me in the respect that you find it completely acceptable to allow your guests to spend 5 days with a sewage leak on your ship that could have potentially contaminated your water supply. I am requesting a refund of $2,100 which was half my cruise fare. Read Less

I have always been a Royal Caribbean cruiser, so I thought I would give this one a try with a friend. That will NEVER AGAIN happen. The ship is old and extremely outdated. The food is absolutely not up to cruise expectations. There is a $20 fee for certain foods (ie. lobster, steaks, etc..) in the dining room. I have never heard of such a thing. The beauty of cruising is not having to deal with those things. It is a different waiter every night so they do not get to know you and have nothing ready for you. The dining room staff was unfriendly to say the least, with the exception of only a few people. Bar staff was very slow at nearly all bars except till I found Alan in the bar by the casino. He was awesome! Our room attendant only made our room up completely 2 out of the 5 nights. The other days the bunks were left in the down position making it difficult to move around the already small room. Excursion towels were never left in our room even though the daily news told us to take the blue towels located in our room to the beaches. Rarely did you find a Purell hand sanitizer station that actually had Purell in it. The main thing that sealed the deal for taking the time to write this review is the fact that a guy was hammering away on some metal railing right outside our stateroom at 8:00 AM. Despite us telling him that kids were sleeping in the room. Overall this ship was a huge disappointment. I highly recommend spending a little extra on a better boat. I would not cruise this ship again even if it was free. Read Less

We chose to get married on carnival sensation so our family could join us. The package seemed affordable and it advertised coordinators pre-cruise and during ceremony and reception. Turns out the pre-coordinators after only allowed to tell you what you can't do, then you get to guess as to how to plan around that. The only reason our wedding was successful was bc the on board coordinators came through with spot on instructions. The cake they made was dry and flavorless (we chose lemon and marble). For a 2 hour event, it's not worth it at all. The worst part of it all was the photography options for our wedding! We spent $900 on 45 photos to barely get time to pick our photos in a busy hallway full oh hundreds of people, with constant interruptions, after a long day of excursions and they still managed to give us a duplicate photo. So, $900 for 44 photos. This is the second cheapest option. They force you to wait on the photographer that took the photos, that is constantly booked at another gimmicky event if you try to ask to see them again - even though there's always 5 standing in the gallery doing nothing but pushing people to buy their dinner photos. There's no portal or way to purchase the package post cruise!!! There is however a long drawn out option of CDs being mailed with instructions if you'd like to buy more (@ $30 per 8x10). But, the boat itself was disgusting! It's old, and it's never clean. The carpet is disgusting (even in our fathers penthouse rooms). The balconies are a joke and just take away cabin space. The food was mediocre and often cold. They constantly had photographers and gimmicky things interrupting your meals so they could sell you something later. The pillows are amazing!!! The beds are hard and full of dips and crevasses. The excursions were eh. Don't do the ultimate land and sea unless you've never seen a horse or dune buggy in your life. They're both a 5 minute jaunt for beginners. The snorkeling had people feeding the fish so we just followed the guy in mass for 20 minutes. And the ropes course is just a waiting game bc they pulled you up on top of each other. Overall, I'm not impressed and would never consider a carnival cruise again. Please do not get married on this boat if you want a beautiful wedding to remember. Read Less

I went on a Carnival Sensation Cruise from 05/17/2018-05/21/2018. It was the worst experience of my life. We got on the boat at 11 am but was not allowed to go to our room until 1:30. When we first arrived on the boat it was pouring with rain and everybody was waiting in line for the 2 food options available. Since it was raining and we weren't allowed in our rooms, I sat in the hallway for 3 hours hoping the trip was going to get better. When we finally got into our room it was disappointing. We paid for a king size bed but what we got was 2 twin beds pushed together that continued to pull apart as the ship rocked. Our Cruise was schedule to tour Half Moon Cay and Nassau. The weather prevented us from visiting Half Moon Cay so we detoured to Freeport. Online Carnival advertised beautiful clean beaches. I didn't get so lucky as to see where those pictures were taken. The port the ship drops you off at is a worn down industrial manufacturing junk yard. The Bahamas were hit by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and it definitely shows. There is debris everywhere and no sign of renovations. Online they have the captivating title of WaterWorks included. "Carnival's onboard waterpark" it's actually 1 slide, 1 pool, and 2 hot tubs for 3,000 people. The water is freezing and if you mange to squeeze your way into the hot tub you will be accompanied by children screaming and splashing water into your face and drinks. Online they claim "The world you'll find yourself in is one of complete peace". This couldn't be further from the truth. More like you will find yourself stuck in the middle of a frat party with no escape. There is no such thing as a good night sleep with drunk people wandering the halls at all hours yelling at the top of their lungs, children running up and down the halls, and your neighbors toilet that never seems to stop flushing. If you are sober I do not recommend The Punch liner Comedy Club where you will listen to grown men complain about how nobody is laughing at their jokes. If you are sober I also do not recommend their food. Lets start with room service. Your breakfast is limited to the food you can find at the Dollar Tree: bagels, yogurt, cereal, and juice. Far from their "extensive room service menus". Their lunch and dinner free options aren't much better: caesar salad, ham and cheese sandwich, or PB&J. Their room service menu is comparable to what you can find in your fridge at home. The restaurants are limited to The Dining Room, Guy's Burger Joint, Blueiguana Cantina, and The Carnival Deli. 4 restaurants may seem like a like but remember you are eating 25 meals onboard. Those options become less appealing as the trip goes on. Plus they weren't amazing in the first place. I believe the cruise is hoping everybody gets drunk enough to not notice how mediocre the food is. Lastly terrible customer service. If you are not ordering an acholic beverage, the bartenders will ignore you because they believe you will not tip them. If you request to speak to a manager at guest services, they will give you the run around as to why nobody can help you and why you must wait till after your cruise to file a complaint. I filed a complaint on 05/19/2018 and demanded to speak to a manager. The guest service representative gave me a number to call after the trip was over and said that was all he or anybody on board could do for me. Read Less

This being my 4th Carnival cruise...6th cruise total, I was shocked and extremely disappointed with the overall service, hospitality, and food during this cruise. Carnival cruises in the past have set a standard with me that I've grown accustomed to and love, and the Carnival Sensation was truly a disappoint to say the least. I'm used to being greeted when staff passes, not have them darn near scrub up against the wall to keep from having to acknowledge you at all. We experienced so much rudeness and so much attitude during the first couple of days that we just gave up on expecting anything positive from crew members. Something as simple as asking for directions to a certain part of the ship we encountered sucking of the teeth... REALLY! At our FIRST breakfast in the dinning room we requested Danishes for our table and the server had the nerve to exhale as though he was exasperated with us. This we did complain about and were moved to a different section. On Lido deck that same evening my girlfriends and I wanted to enjoy a pitcher of frozen Margaritas, the bartender proceeded to fix it on the rocks and when we told him that we wanted it frozen he literally THREW THE PITCHER into the tub bin behind him telling us LOUDLY "It doesn't come frozen"! The entire cruise our sink and shower were clogged and would overflow easily if we hadn't been careful and patient enough to not let it happen. This was reported to FIRST night of the cruise, and when we left... it still hadn't been fixed. I could go on...and on with complaints and the awful experience of this vacation but as bad as everything was as a whole I'm sure Carnival is aware way before my complaint today and obviously have chosen to do NOTHING. As much as I LOVE Cruise Vacations... IF SENSATION is the only ship sailing... I would NEVER CRUISE AGAIN!! After this Cruise, I'm strongly considering experiencing some of the other lines... I doubt if anything can be a worse experience than being trapped on Sensation for 5 days! I'm so easily satisfied, and I'm careful when having to make complaints especially where people's jobs are concerned. But things were so awful on this trip that I just couldn't let it just slide by. Not to mention that this was my most expensive trip of all if I'm not mistaken, which is another thorn in my side. Other cruises I've been on haven't been PERFECT, but the good always out weighed the bad so much that I didn't mind the other minor things... NOT THIS TIME! Things were so bad that we actually joked about this ship either being where newbies go to train but just not grasping it, or where the staff that are being let go are positioned until they disembark. The highlight and CARNIVAL HOSPITALITY that I've grown to love was consistant with Kirby - Lido Deck Server. He was the ONE person that provided the kind of service, fun, and memorable laughs that I've grown to love since traveling with Carnival. Kirby was ALWAYS quick, easily accessible, made suggestions, remembered our names and what we liked. Yes, Kirby is that stuff that other Great Carnival Staff are made of. Read Less

I never give much merit to 'extreme' reviews and yet, I am unable to offer anything positive about this cruise. The food was horrible. It was poor quality and poorly prepared. There was nothing fresh, crisp or flavorful. It was mainly processed, dry and salty. Everyone we talked to were complaining about the food. To avoid the food on the cruise, we ate as soon as we were off the ship and would eat right before we had to get back on the ship. The food was my number one complaint; absolutely horrible. I was so disappointed. I've cruised on other cruise lines and was so excited to try Carnival. I purchased a Suite with a balcony, VIP service, drink package and WiFi. The WiFi did not work. The A/C leaked on our bed during the entire trip (I made guest services aware of the issue everyday). It took forever to get a drink at the bar (most alcoholic drinks were very weak). There was very little entertainment. Overall.......Epic Fail Read Less

Terrible!! Will never even consider carnival again. 1- Not enough seating areas for number of guest. My example is, if you're sailing and don't have a stop that day, what will the 2000 + people on board do? They will go to the ONE pool, that might have enough chairs to support a few hundred of those people. So then people get up first thing in the morning to put their towels (that cost $20 if you lose) on a chair that they only use for a few minutes throughout the day because they're all in the pool. 2- When it's time to eat, the food is awful. What makes it worse is having to move dirty dishes out of the way on tables so you can sit down to eat. There is no shortage of staff though, they're all over, but they are not real quick to move dirty dishes off of tables. 3- Maybe it was just a bad time of year, but it seemed to be a party barge and not at all family friendly. College aged girls pulling their tops down in the pool with young children in there with them (right next to them), pot smoking regularly occurring not only in the designated smoking area, but throughout the entire ship (in the cabin, playing putt-putt, at the water slides, etc...) 4- Did I mention the food was terrible? 5- Cost- the initial cost of the cruise seems reasonable. Then an $11 drink (PLUS automatic gratuity) for you and your wife here and there over the course of the cruise, a few souvenirs for the kids, (none of the $12 pictures they took everytime you turn around though), a couple bucks for the casino, a fee for gambling your own money in their casino all added up to almost $1000 extra dollars!!! Oh.... some of that was the almost $4 per bottle of water. 6- I just remembered, I always saw the crew washing windows and wiping down hand rails. That must be priority over taking away dirty dishes and wiping down tables. 7- I'm 100% convinced they don't change the bedding after each float. 8- Our last two nights, we decided to order room service and eat in our tiny little room rather than going through the chow line and finding a spot to eat. The food was that bad. 9- We've been on other cruises. My wife and I are not cruise experts but any means though. But this entire experience has almost been a joke to us. If my son hadn't learned some new words from some of the crowd that was around, it would have been a joke. Read Less

So first and foremost the ship is not consistent with customer service. There are a few that went above and beyond but if you say hi to most people they are not friendly. Why do I have to wait in line at a buffet. Royal has many buffets and don’t feel that I would have to wait. I mean specialty shops guys blue iguana I can understand the wait. Pizza took forever just make em they will go. Ice cream 24 hours loved it. I’m relaxed watching the sunset and I’m told I have to move because they are about to clean. I’m sorry I was in your way. The men’s bathroom around the ship had mostly only one stall. The cruise director Orlando and Heidi ho Dion were magnificent. I met Keasha accidentally loved her. We had a waiter one night, first night Dennis who was outstanding. He was just covering for one night. The rest of the cruise we had a dud but the helpers were amazing. Overall this is my first and my last Carnival ship. They prey to much on the party ship but not the customer service piece. Oh the activities were great but they had this comedian that should just retire. He was horrible. Also Loved Loved Carnival Quest. Read Less

first off this ship was not capable of accommodating the customers on this ship. I will never go on a cruise after this. we went on this ship for Ubersocacruise 2017. First of all I paid for a balcony suite, it basically was an ocean view size with a balcony. it was a sardine can, my king bed was two twin beds that kept splitting in the middle. I am so disgusted with this stupid company. I been in a balcony room before and THIS was not the same!! $3500 for crap. Let's talk ABOUT how they charged 11 dollars for mixed drinks filled with so much ice they are counting on your drinks getting watered down to come back for more, then as the night goes on the glasses get smaller for the same price!!! I ain't that drunk not to notice carnival!!!! let's talk about the entertainment area was so small people had to sit on the floor and stand in the door ways to watch the show. The stage area was so small and the room that a middle school gym was three times bigger. Now for the last disgusting experience I had to endure.. every friggin day I had to stand on a line to eat for a half hour!!! I felt like I was in a soup kitchen line in NYC!!!!! Are you kidding me. it was a hospital cafeteria food!! the pizza that was suppose to be open 24 hours and wasn't it didn't matter it was so thin it tasted like cardboard! The food was hot dogs and rubbery cooked chicken, baked potato no dressings. the food never changed it was always the same thing over and over again. dessert was diet coconut cake and diet chocolate cake oh lets not forget fig and date pudding. Why the HECK is diet in my choices! why am I eating geriatric food! oh the formal dinner was no better. we had to pay for lobster and steak $20 bucks each and they were so small we had to go eat after we ate there!! I felt we were treated like animals. my bill after paying $3500 was another $900 for drinks/food/gift shop.. I will stick to my all inclusive resorts from here on out!!!! NEVER AGAIN will any cruise line get my money or anyone else who will listen to me.. I will turn everyone away from cruising!!! you got yourself an enemy carnival cruise! Read Less

My family chose this cruise specifically for the Turks port, which we did not visit. Initially, the weather was to hold us back, then we found out other ships were able to get into the Turks. Carnival took us to Freeport, which is quite simply a port with very little sign of life there. This was my sister's 60th birthday cruise and her first, so we wanted it to be special for her. Not so much!! Everything from the tainted water, poor service, and bad food was truly disappointing. Other passengers were as unimpressed as we were. I have been on other cruise lines like RC and Norwegian and their service and food is tops. Carnival was low of all low. If you like the smell of sewage in the hallways then I give them a 5 star rating. If you like the stench of cigarette smoke lingering from deck 6 to 9 then they deserve 5 stars. If you enjoy paying $4 for a bottle of water because the water on the ship is not drinkable then they deserve 5 stars. If you were looking forward to going to Turks and was happy that other ships re-routed their and we didn't give them 5 stars. If you want unauthorized charges on your card, woo-hoo a definite 5 stars here!!!! If you enjoyed being misled about the $10 ride to the beach in Freeport, then finding out it was $14 and another $3 to enter, and another $15 for the chairs then woo-hoo give them 5 stars. Our family will not cruise again on Carnival, we will be glad to spend our money on a ship that knows what superior service is and whose intent is to make your vacation a memorable one, not one where you wish you were back at work. #glad2bhome Read Less

This is the worst vacation i’ve ever had... I honestly would have enjoyed myself more at home, seriously... Where do I begin... First let me say i’m not a picky person i’m very reasonable and quite understanding but my experience on sensation was terrible. They lost my infant son’s luggage, which contained his diapers and formula. So I found myself going deck to deck looking through hundreds of bags trying to find my son’s bag which was not a good start to my vacation. all in all, they said the tag on the luggage came off, which is not surprising considering I saw baggage claim literally throwing luggage multiple feet off the cart onto the floor. Secondly, the entire ship smells of cigarette smoke, even in our room, to the point it makes your chest hurt. In addition to that, the elevators are terrible, I have a stroller because of my son and believe me when I tell you, I carried that stroller up multiple flights of stairs everyday because of how bad they operate; Waiting 20 plus minutes for it to come to your deck. The food on sensation not good, it’s like the food you received when you were in middle school, most of it is cooked and frozen then reheated, milk cartons, and the only juice they have available that’s free is lemonade and ice tea which are filled with so much sugar you have to dilute it to drink it. the sheets in my cabin smelled really bad, Its like they have sheets cycled through circulation for a few years. also the smell of water is really bad as well. 100% true no lie, I was washing my son’s bottle in the bathroom sink and my wife had flushed the toilet, all of a sudden i see yellow liquid come through the bathroom sink.... i couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I can’t make this stuff up, it’s so bad it’s almost funny. lastly, I was charged a mandatory $65 gratuities. they took it off my sail and sign card automatically, I was never warned or informed, I just check my balance and see $-9 balance, not one employee cleaned or entered my room during the entire week on the cruise, and every meal I ate was self serve, let’s just say I was not a happy camper. In conclusion, this was a terrible experience and i’m contemplating ever cruising again. because this week has brought me more stress and aggravation then if i was home working, I mean the very review your reading I wrote on my last day on the cruise, it’s very boring to say the least. Our first experience with Carnival will be our last. Our daughter chose this cruise for her beach wedding in Nassau. While I had read a few bad reviews, we thought "it's a cruise, how bad can it be?". How bad? Only good things were: smooth embarkation and disembarkation; Stefan the manager on board at Pixels; dining room staff; room steward; Catherine and about 3 other bartenders. THATS IT!! The boat is old-needs to be retired. Room was dirty. Dust on lamps and glass shelves. Carpet was disgusting. Room smelled like mildew. Had a Grand Suite, but grand it was not. Balcony door did not latch properly and the make shift lock they placed at the top did not secure it. Food was horrible. I actually lost eight pounds! Buffet was a joke. Food was dry. Dining room was not any better. Burgers were dry and tasteless. VERY little on board activities , especially for our 23month old granddaughter. Ports were fine, organized. Fairly smooth on and off at each. The boat is small, dirty, old and was actually leaking in places. During the art auction in Kaleidoscope, the roof was dripping. My daughters room had brown water coming from the faucets. Daughters officiant's room had the bathroom floor come up with the towel after a shower. This was the most disastrous experience EVER!! There is still so much that was wrong, but will save that for later. NEVER CRUISE CARNIVAL! SENSATION IS HORRIBLE! Read Less

Here is a list of (mostly) everything we experienced on this cruise: Water in dining room tasted like chlorine No hair dryer (site said not to bring one and most cruise lines supply one in the room), asked for one. Friendly stateroom attendant brought one then took out of the room the next day and I had to ask for it again.) Awful food/cold food (blueberry pie looked and tasted like a nutrigrain bar/ravioli and lasagna in dining room tasted like Chef Boyardee/Chocolate mousse desert tasted and looked like pudding pack/buffet pizza had no taste/fried shrimp had strange consistency. The yams were really good and about the only yummy thing on the cruise. Almost all of the food was cold in the dining room (waiter was great, however...we tipped him as it isn't his fault the food was so terrible and he was SOOOO kind. He was probably one of the only good experiences we had during the cruise.) Sickness everywhere! I got a sinus infection and my cabin mate got a sore throat and bad allergies from the boat. We talked to another girl in the buffet area, as she overheard me and she said her entire party was also sick with a sore throat. Smelly halls, smelled like poop!! Our room was SO loud at night, it truly sounded like trains going by and bowling sounds. I kid you not...I even had a loud white noise machine with me and it could not drown these sounds out....and at night we had to deal with shaking doors/walls at night... The layout was very strange on the boat, difficult to get around. Definitely an older boat. Lifeboats on deck 10...difficult to get a good view. Views from deck 11 were not the best. Taking chairs away on top deck early in day Pools not open at all times/one pool for entire boat. A few hot tubs. No towels on pier, you had to take the ones for your room. Barely any alcohol in $10 frozen drinks...so glad we didn't get the cheers package. Irma-no information at all...family was panicking back home for us and they quietly opened up the wifi late at night on the final night. This should have been opened up on the day at sea to let family and friends know we were okay. Photo gallery in disarray...they LOST our one photo and we had to get the receipt from our room. Then we thought they found the correct one, we got home and saw we received the wrong photo. No soap for bathroom sink until we asked stateroom attendant. No ice bucket until we asked. No turn down service at night. We were asked if we wanted morning or evening service. No mini fridge, I have medication that needs to be kept cool...we had to freeze the room out in order to keep my med under a certain temperature. I did not want to leave it with staff in the medicine fridge out of my cabin. Bathroom sink temperature was VERY finicky...super hot, we burned ourselves numerous times and had to find the "sweet spot" and leave it at that. Stains on washcloths/towels...I know they were clean/laundered but most were discolored. Vanity not cleaned... We are NOT picky people, at all. Very disappointed as I have sailed on a few boats before (even a Carnival one in the past). The dining room staff/stateroom attendant were great and we gave them an additional tip, per custom, for their service. They were probably the only good things about the cruise. Read Less
