It’s time to retire

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Sensation

Let me start off with this was my first cruise, although I was traveling with a sensoned veteran. Possibly my expectations were too high but this cruise delivered on almost none of my main points. The first look at the cruise ship.. it’s OLD. Everything needs to be updated. Actually the ship just needs to be sunk. The pool is SOO small and so lame that I actually never got in it once the whole ...

Carnival sensation was a wonderful ship. Although one of the oldest. I had read some bad reviews but I have to see for myself. I appreciate the reviews because it helped me decide. This ship was recently redecorated from what I read. It was beautiful! Our cruise director deon was so fun and hella funny! He made the cruise worth it. He is full of energy! Can sing and dance. Kept us up on the ...

First, we are avid cruisers with over 25 cruises. Although we take a few different cruise lines Carnival has been the one we have been on the most. We chose this cruise for my wife’s 60 Birthday because it was only 5 days and we had just came back from the Carnival Breeze 7 day cruise 2 weeks prior. Let me say that we knew it would be a small ship and was one of their first, and we tried our ...

Good Cruise, Mixed Service, Mixed Food

We went on the Carnival Sensation Western Caribbean cruise. The ship is one of their older and smaller ships, but we paid the extra for a room with an external view, and so we liked our cabin. On the first day, we went to the Lido deck for the buffet-style lunch, and the food was *terrible*. I had an eggplant dish that was burned and mushy, which suggests that it was totally overcooked. My ...

Didn’t go to Cozumel which I paid for. Had a fire on last day at 3am.

This was my first cruise ever. 30 years old, surprised my husband for his 30th bday this week. Decided to take my 5 yr old along with us. Trip was Miami to key west to Cozumel and back to Miami. I’m surprised I’m the first one to review because we just got off the ship today but it was a hell of an experience! Being my first cruise I didn’t know what to expect. But we traveled from NC(13hr ...

So let me start off by saying if this is your first cruise it will probably exceed your expectations because you have nothing to compare it to. However this is my third cruise and the third cruise line I’ve taken . In the past I’ve taken royal Caribbean and Norwegian. Carnival cruise line came in last place. I’m going o review the cabin, staff, food, and activities. The cabin: (3/5) The cabin ...

I absolutely love my Carnival Cruises. You get a warm welcome as soon as you embark on the ship. Everyone is smiling and waiting to answer your questions. We traveled to Cayman Islands and Jamaica with 2 days of sea days. Our stateroom steward was very friendly and I love how he memorized all our names. The cabin was clean but there when my husband took a shower the bathroom floor flooded. There ...

Husband and i took this trip as our first getaway kid free. We booked this particular one as they were places we hadn't been and at a great price... plus was just the right amount of time away. I was a little nervous after reading some reviews, but we had a great experience! The staff were friendly, room was always clean(outside room with picture window), the ship was clean, food and drinks were ...

Worst ship I’ve been on so far

I’ve gone on four cruises including this one. This is my third ship; i went on the Carnival Victory twice and on a Royal Caribbean ship once. I enjoy carnival’s friendly staff and excursions and affordability. This was the best value trip around this time of year considering number of nights, ports, and total cost, according to a spreadsheet I had put together. The cruise director, Deon, was ...

Never going on a cruise again

This was my first cruise. As we entered the ship, everything seemed alright. When we became more accustomed to the ship, I started noticing things. The chairs on the main deck with bird feces on the side and parts around the main deck smelled like sewage. Very disgusting. The buffet food was mediocre and best and the crew rarely smiled. The stench of weed engulfed the hallways, just to paint a ...
