Cruise chosen as a way of seeing the Caribbean and enjoying lengthy times at sea.
Ship is a fantastic ocean going vessel and rides it so well.
That's where it ends. Very tired and plain looking even after a recent refit. the biggest disappointment was the food. You would never starve but boring, bland old peoples food. No taste, no flavour etc.. I suppose they are catering for the age of the ...
Great cruise which took in Cadiz, Messina, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Venice & Gibraltar. Past P & O cruisers but our first time on Aurora. Lovely sized ship - not too big. Atmosphere felt very friendly & relaxed - maybe as the average age of passengers was late 60's / 70's. At times it could feel like we were on a Saga cruise - we are 43 and 44, but our fellow cruisers were in the main really pleasant and ...
We have just returned home from a wonderful cruise on P & O Aurora. The staff were all welcoming and very efficient. We chose a delux balcony cabin, there was loads of drawer & wardrobe space. Our cabin steward was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We chose Freedom Dining which worked very well, we tended to eat at a similar time each evening nod were able to have the same table which meant ...
My first cruise, something I have avoided for many years & I am full of praise for P&O & the experience. Everything was very well organised, slick, & fair, a good system for embarkation & disembarkation etc.
Cabin exceeded my expectations, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean. Service throughout the ship attentive & pleasant.
I chose a smaller ship on purpose & it was right for us. With ...
Our second voyage aboard Aurora and once again totally wonderful, from the moment we stepped aboard, till the moment we disembarked. As you walk aboard, a friendly crew member is there to welcome you and hand you a map of the ship. I didn't take a map, saying to him, thank you, but I have been aboard Aurora before. His reply made me smile by saying, 'In that case sir, welcome home'. Our cabin was ...
We chose this as an experimental taster first sea cruise - we've been on a couple of river cruises with Viking.
Both embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and trouble-free.
Ship is described as mid-sized. To us it was enormous. We really could have done with some sort of induction, because it took us a few days on a 7 day cruise to find our way around. However, the facilities on board ...
This was the 12th cruise my wife and I had taken and the third to the fjords. It was one of the best. The ship is an ideal size allowing around 1800 passengers. We prefer this to the super liners which seem so congested.
Aurora is beautiful throughout. We especially liked the Vanderbilt, Masquerade and Champions lounges which were nice places to relax and partake in quizzes or other gentle ...
Embarkation was really good. 30 minutes from terminal entrance to ships cabin. Disembarkation not so good. Seemed rather disorganised and ended with standing in a long queue for 15 minutes or so. Why do people wait until they arrive at the card reader post / person then start to open their bags or pockets to search for their card.
We love the wide promenade deck on the Aurora. Lovely ...
The Aurora is a very comfortable mid size ship and very much the sister to the Oriana. Great curved stern which is no longer the style on more modern ships. Food is fine, not 5 star but standard acceptable with good size potions in dining room, however I don’t think the menu choice is quite as long as once was. But was did have a pefect position for our allocated table for two. The Horizon buffet ...
First the journey to southampton was terrible, why they choose this port is beyond me the best way to describe the port is just ugly. The ship was no better a family room cabin was ideal as a single room, the entertainment third rate acts was awful five days at sea only half day at gibraltar embarkation, tv reception was very poor picture was terrible, sunbeds was another sore point ,not enough ...
