Pleasantly surprised
"Bar staff are constantly doing the rounds taking orders for drinks, the area is clean and tidy and the entertainment team did a good job keeping people amused. We also ate in Vista (Italian food) and throughly enjoyed every meal, the food was good quality and cooked well...."Read More

A solid effort from the little fish in the big pond of cruising (2 Regular Marella Cruisers)

Party: 2 adults aged 30 and 64, previously cruised three times with Marella (Dream, and Explorer 2 x2), with NCL 4 times (Jade, Breakaway x2 and Prima), and 3 other cruises in the early 00s on now defunct lines. We don't have any disabilities, we didn't use the casino and we didn't travel with kids, so we can't comment on these. If you have read my reviews before you'll know that we cruised ...

Always our favourite cruise company going downhill

We didn't realise that we were going to a holiday camp. In fairness I have to say that the cleanliness, cabins, shows, restaurants and staff service and attitudes were excellent, however we have travelled many times with Thomson and Marella and as soon as they went all inclusive their product became Benidorm. You are supposed to at least wear "tailored" shorts in the restaurant but they were ...

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was fantastic. The weather made it for everyone. The service in the Latitude bar was good (thankyou Ronaldo & Ririn). The ship is dated, the cabin with extended outside balcony was tired & worn, the balcony being as big as the room which we thought was weird, The beds were uncomfortable and the bed linen and towels were old with that yellow ...

We've had an amazing time on our 1st Marella cruise and would certainly cruise with them again, may be on one of their adults only ship. TUI were amazing with their flight from London Luton to Tenerife which went smoothly with no delays and great onboard service. This was followed by excellent organisation of TUI transfers from airport to ship whereby they took your luggage off you at the ...

Disappointing Cruise

Let's start with the staff. Most of them were polite and extremely helpful. The entertainment staff put on some great shows. Johnny the cruise director did a fabulous job. A cabin is a cabin. We were inside. So we got what we expected. Unfortunately, we had to ask for the milk and coffee to be topped up as it wasn't done so. Ok, only a small thing. But it means a great deal. You feel ...

Quite disappointed with Explorer this time around, it is in need of some TLC & yet again standard seem to be slipping with Marella. Food quality is average at best & along with some passengers general etiquette never being challenged by the crew, I believe this will be our last Marella cruise. I may be old fashioned, but I do like to see people at least wearing shirts & something on their feet ...

Having not cruised since pre-covid, and this being my partner's first cruise, I was a bit worried about what to expect, whether standards had dropped etc. but I can honestly say this was one of the best cruises I have been on, and it has my partner hooked on cruising. Itininary We sailed around the canaries and Morocco in November/December 2023 - all the ports of call were good and in ...

Passing our local TUI travel agency we noticed a "Manager's special" for this cruise and enquired within. The dates coincided perfectly with the half term school holiday, an inset day, and our daughter's leave week. In addition the second day of the cruise was our granddaughter's birthday and this would be her first flight on an airplane though not her first cruise. The price offered made it a no ...

Absolutely terrible cruise on Explorer

We have sailed with marella about 8 times now but never again! If you could give a minus score we would have done! It did not get off to a good start when the plane we were due to fly on to corfu missed the runway at leed/bradford causing absolute chaos. We were eventually transferred to manchester and flew from there arriving in the early hours of the morning. Just as an add to show tui ...
