Shielding for years without a break, and having had a serious health diagnosis, we decided that at last it was time for a break between treatments, and this reasonably cheap cruise seemingly fitted the bill, or so we thought.... Boarding was the easiest of all our many cruises as we found the ship is already mostly full with passengers from all the ports it has visited…..it's a bit like a bus, ...

This is a slightly crazy ship, a bit like a cruise run by the Euopean Union. Glitzy but the fine detail was flawed.

We chose this trip because it was no fly, and offered a good value for money break. What went well:- (1) The entertainment shows were excellent and imaginitive with superb dancers.. This included a couple of top class opera shows. (2) Food was fresh, well cooked, and served by friendly waiters. (3) For those that took the drinks packages, dedicated drinking seemed to deliver value ...

I should add that I have done 2 cruises previously with MSC on Seaview and Grandiosa, both times with the aurea package, and always upgrading to the top drinks package. This was a solo cruise and I wanted to have a bit of luxury. It was also a way of testing YC ahead of our Honeymoon in October out of NYC. Arrived at Southampton port (Horizon terminal) around 10.45 and was onboard by 11.20. ...

We chose this cruise (Northern Pearls) as it came up on a 'Black Friday' deal for £399 each for a balcony cabin. We were up for a winter break away, have cruised many times and the thought of rougher seas didnt phase us . We packed for cold and set off. 1. The ship was very well heated - no need for those jumpers! 2. The ship was the most stable weve ever been on. We had a F9 gale and it ...

So this is our 4th MSC cruise , and have sailed with various other lines to compare to. Generally a great cruise, beautiful ship, good food and great staff. Here are a few key bits... Boarding- We boarded at Tenerife in the mid point of a 21 day cruise so there was only 200 others boarding today. Took 5minutes! Brilliant Ship at 50% capacity so nothing was busy anywhere! Not sure what ...

First time travelling with MSC and will most likely be the last unless there are changes. Let's start with the positives, the ship looks great, it's very clean and the majority of the staff are lovely even when they have to deal with a lot of rude customers! The paid 2 circus shows on board are worth the money but why do we have to pay for this? BBC1/BBC2/ITV on the cabin TV was a nice ...

Fun NYE Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

I just read a review that was very long, so I'll try to be concise. This was a 7 day New Year's Eve sailing out of Le Havre (Paris) with stops at Southampton, Hamburg, Zebrugge, and Rotterdam. Because this was a holiday sailing, the ship was at full capacity, with over 6,300 passengers. For some reason, there were a lot of children on board. Pre-Cruise: Spent 3 nights in Paris, which we ...

Chose this Xmas cruise as SOLO price was less than £800. A bargain especially as it was leaving from Southampton.... BUT these MSC ships are nothing but glorified WATER TAXIS. VERY POSH SHIPS, but taxis all the same. . Pick-up and drop-off at every port !!!!! People fighting to board at each port of call, whilst daytrippers are fighting to get off !!! If you can stand the jabber of so many ...
