As passed guests with Viking Ocean and River cruises we have enjoyed the destinations we chose complimented by the facilities & hospitality Viking offers. Generally fair value.
What we liked &/or found to be excellent/exceptional; the spa & the spa staff. Always well maintained, very clean with very pleasant and helpful staff. The cleanliness of the common areas of the ship is worth ...
This was our second Viking Ocean cruise and we had our first cruise with Viking on the Amsterdam to Budapest river cruise in 2014. Needless to say we love Viking!
The crew is always outstanding and the food is great. There are always interesting tours and excursions available to suit everyone.
The embarkation and disembarkation went flawlessly and as always the crew was ever helpful.

The Viking Sun is a splendid craft. Everything I expected and more! The ship was pristine, and every detail is attended to regularly by a staff who genuinely cared about the passengers and the ship. From the time I embarked until the time I headed for home, there was never a problem with anything on board. And, the restaurants were all first rate. I want to single out Mikko, my cabin steward, ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary first and foremost, also had done one Viking River cruise and loved it. We were looking to go on a smaller ship as we had done many cruises on ships with 2,000 + passengers, casinos, shops and photos in our face, wanted something more inclusive for laundry, internet and included tours.
We were treated personally with my daughter's food allergies and ...
Although we have visited many places in the British Isles, this cruise offered a mix of new places (Orkney, Shetlands and highlands) with more familiar places (London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Belfast). Seamless arrival through Heathrow with Viking personnel making it easy. Arrival on the ship docked in the middle of the Thames off Greenwich was painless and quite a sight. Our cabin was wonderful ...
All in all we enjoyed the cruise although some of the port stays were too short to fully experience the places. We mainly wanted to see what each place had to offer and decide if we wished to return to spend more time and explore. Some of the shore excursions were already booked so we did miss out on a few that we had really wanted. The ports using tenders were a bit cumbersome and time ...
This was our second Viking Ocean Cruise and fourth Viking Cruise overall.
Really loved the itinerary and as usual the food and service was 5 stars plus.
We had a DV cabin and it was very nicely appointed and our steward took care of us extremely well.
Loved the public areas of the ships, the port talks, and the guest lecturers.
Most of our meals were in World Cafe. We did eat at ...
We took this cruise because we felt this cruise went to a lot of different places we wanted to see.
The tours were all good, except that my husband lost 1 of his hearing aids 3rd day out. So, he had some trouble hearing things throughout the cruise.
We were quite satisfied with everything except Blues Lounge. Hardly anyone ever went and stayed there. The music was way to loud, it was not ...
Had never toured the British Isles. Wish we had more time offshore as our time was limited. Viking does a marvelous job in crowd management. We especially like that Viking kept track of our comings and goings. The crew is amiable. They are not condescending, yet treated us with respect. We never felt they invaded our privacy. The food was delicious and catered to everyone's taste palate. ...
We wanted a small ship experience and loved it. We've been going for smaller and smaller ships (largest we've been on was about 4,000 passengers and this one was around 900). Absolutely detest big ships. It's all a personal preference though and I understand that, but boy, give me the smaller ships. Doesn't take forever to get from one end to the other, you get to know more of the passengers as ...
