Total Disappointment-Over priced and Under Delivered

Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Orion

First let me start by saying I have cruised hundreds of days with a number of cruise lines, including Celebrity, Royal Carribean, Princess, Norwegian and hold status on many of these lines. I am an avid traveler both by land and sea and have had nothing but positive experiences. Last fall my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, we had so wanted to do a Riverboat cruise We left ...

The worst food experience and shore excursions on a cruise

Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Orion

After sailing on Viking Orion during Oct 2022 and providing feedback, along with many other Australian passengers, one would consider that it would be acted upon. However, much to my disappointment this has not been the case. Australians love their coffee but on Viking Orion it is awful. From day one the coffee beans appear to be old without any taste. Even a double or triple shot fails to ...

A Taste of Southeast Asia

I love traveling. This particular Viking Ocean Cruise was my first. When I travel, top priority is food, then comfort, then quality of excursions, amenities and lastly all that was promised to me was fulfilled. I chose Viking because it had the best reputation for food quality and because there would be no kids on the ship. No loud screaming babies as I chose this to get a break from whiny ...

Not up to Viking standards

Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Orion

3 ocean and five river Viking crises. Choise this tour as it had a discounted fare and started in Bali where our son and grandchildren live. Disjointed ports, Java consisted of bus tour to store fronts and ended at a commercial mall. Thailand island was beautiful. Four days in Viet Nam was too much, must have fit a Viking requirement. Singapore was beautiful. 6 hour rickshaw tour in Saigon ...

Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Viking Orion

We choose this cruise to travel with our friends who has mobility issues. Our first Viking Cruise and it more than met my expectations. The stateroom was excellent, our cabin service as well as the waitstaff and ship crew were all friendly, and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. We had a few issues including an electrical fire in a stateroom on our deck the first day and a ...

We wanted to see Australia and New Zealand. The food was amazing. We loved The Chef's Table. We ate there 4 times in 2 weeks. Manfredi's was okay, but not our favorite. Most people on the ship disagreed. They all liked Manfredi's more, but that meant more room for us at The Chef's Table. The Restaurant was good. The buffet was good. The wine glass was never empty. Wish we could have had Gelato ...

Excellent cruise from Sydney to Bali

My wife and I chose this cruise because it visited many of the locations in Australia that we had not visited before, plus we really looked forward to the Komodo dragon visits. The on shore organization was extremely good, professional and friendly. The initial check in process for quick. It was annoying that various pre-trip activities documented by Viking for Australia and Bali were not ...

Eventful and excellent journey

This was our first Viking cruise of any type (ocean in this case). Embarkation was very frustrating. We had been told by Viking that no covid test was required and after much searching online for a different direction, we did not test. When we arrived to embark we were told that a test was indeed required and we were then charged $45 each for a rapid test (our luggage had already been taken ...

Viking 15 day Auckland to Sydney

Excellent service throughout the cruise. DInner wait staff was very attentive. Food was always top notch. Room was cleaned twice daily by housekeeping crew. The smaller sized ship Viking utilizes allows for more personal attention and opportunities for the crew to meet or exceed your expectations for the cruise, be it food, drinks, or housekeeping. Although the Orion is scheduled for dry dock ...

This was a bucket list cruise, to see New Zealand and some of Australia. We enjoyed really good weather, even a little cook at times in NZ. The crew was excellent, from our cabin attendant to our wait staff in the dining room, to staff at every venue. They work so hard, yet always have a smile when you talk with them. The food most of the time was excellent, although a little bland at times. ...
