Review for a Alaska Cruise on Viking Orion

Initially we had planned to cruise the Baltic Sea from Bergen to Copenhagen(?). But due to unfortunate events in that area of the world we cancelled and decided on the Alaska cruise. Throughout the cruise we were constantly reminded of the foggy rainy weather that is the norm while we experienced glorious sunny days. Be mindful of this because otherwise with foggy rainy weather I'm not sure I see ...

We wanted to do something mostly in the US because of COVID concerns. Alaska was amazing, and made even better by Viking. The staff were attentive, COVID precautions and testing were excellent (we are both retired medical professionals). The cabin was very comfortable and spacious. The food was excellent and plentiful. The ship was immaculate. Entertainment was unexpectedly amazing! There ...

Alaska & all its wonderous beauty was well worth the aggravation we had with Viking on this trip. The tour operators were very friendly, informative and very happy to have tourists returning to Alaska. As always our ship was clean and the stateroom well appointed. This was our 4th cruise with Viking - 2 river & 2 ocean cruises. In the past we have chose Viking for their exceptional customer ...

We were originally scheduled for the Danube Waltz cruise, but the pandemic and other factors led us to change to an Alaska cruise. This was our first Viking cruise and we found it to be beyond our expectations. Staff, crew, accommodations were superb. We felt pampered and made friends with other passengers as well as our room steward and wait staff. Shore excursions were handled efficiently ...

A Once in a Lifetime Have to Take Cruise

I always wanted to see Alaska. I am convinced this is the best way for a first time trip. A lot of very different experiences and ports of call. We were always entertained when we wanted to be. Since most of the travel between ports was at night there was always ample time to disembark and go on an excursion each day. The choice of excursions was phenomenal. We did the spa packages twice during ...

My spouse and I chose the Viking Cruises “Pacific Coast Explorer” itinerary as our first sailing after the pandemic eased. Our last cruise in 2019 had been a Viking cruise to Norway, and we had been more than impressed with the ship (the Star), and the staff, food, ports, and onboard entertainment, and amenities. So we did not hesitate to book another Viking vacation, and having Viking handle ...

I choose this cruise because Viking is my favorite cruise line and I wanted to cruise but not leave the United States. This cruise met my criteria. Viking cabins are very comfortable and the people that care for them are top notch. Food which is an important part of cruising is always good, sometimes exceptional. I had one unfortunate experience where I had ordered Eggs Benedict in the ...

We have taken several Viking Cruises, both river and ocean. For this trip we booked one of the explorer suites, quite pricey and our best friends booked another of the explorer suites. Check in was awful as the staff could not make the card processor work despite several managers trying to help. No one to explain COVID instructions prior to boarding. We were told the explorer suites were available ...

After taking a Viking River cruise in 2019, I never imagined I would ever give Viking a less than 5 star review but the recent Viking Cruise we took was just not good and left my husband and I feeling like Viking should just stick to River Cruises. To start with, I diligently filled out all requested paperwork online on the My Viking Journey website, as well as downloaded the ArriveCAN app and ...

We choose this itinerary because we desperately wanted to go on a cruise, but we wanted to avoid the stress of cruising in Europe with the ever present fear of being quarantined. For us, on this cruise, the ship was the destination, and we were not at all disappointed. The ship was beautiful, the crew were all amazing, and our cabin was perfect. The food that we had onboard was all wonderful, ...
