We thought we would write you and about our trip on the Viking Orion to Alaska (Booking 6319076). Our trip was everything we could hope for on the ship. Our room was wonderful with a of view of each port. The services of your staff were beyond anything we could wish for. Plus, the food was a 4 star plus. We even made friends along the way, which we hope will continue in the coming years. This ...

Alaska Did Not Disappoint

Always on our wish list to see Alaska, and we were drawn to the small ships Viking offered. The Orion did not disappoint. Beautiful ship, nice and new. Big enough to have plenty to do and places to go but small enough to enjoy without getting lost or having too many people on board. Dining was very good, whether it was One World Cafe or the main dining room. Manfredi's was tasty, could have ...

The ship and cabin were just as beautiful as marketed. Everything was clean and wonderfully maintained. The entertainment was very good. The facilities such as the spa and ice grotto are not to be missed. The housekeeping staff couldn’t have been more wonderful and attentive. In fact, all the staff were very friendly and professional. But…the staff, especially in the main buffet, ...

An unforgettable (and unregrettable) experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Viking Orion

We chose this trip to celebrate our 40th anniversary, because though we've traveled alot, we had never seen Alaska. We'd heard that Viking cruises are quiet and luxurious, with wonderful food and service, and that everyone gets a room with a view. Our expectations were met, in spades! Even the interior decor was a pleasure, from the deck to dining and reading areas, the shops, our room - even ...

Alaska is beautiful

I had not seen the inner passage of Alaska. I also wanted to experience a Viking Ocean cruise. I have done Viking European River cruises previously. The ship is beautiful, and I am happy to have had the experience. Alaska is definitely worth seeing - the glaciers and history are two good reasons. The entertainment on the ship was very good, both the shows, and the lectures. We had ...

Travel yes, Leisure no

My husband and I have been to Alaska 5 times on different cruise lines. It is hard to give a bad review when the Alaska experience is so great, grand, and scenic. This boat had problems from the get go. Embarkation was delayed and we were told 3:30 so that was fine. We took late checkout at the hotel. When we got to Canada Place it was busy and unorganized. . The hospitality room at the ...

Alaska - Started rough but smoothed out

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Viking Orion

I am a Viking Oceans person. I love the serene nature of the ships and the maturity of the passengers. The ship is spotlessly clean and their employees are indefatigably cheerful. I won't go on another cruise line. This cruise started out rough when we heard (ahead of time) that we couldn't board until 5:30 due to port issues in Vancouver. Viking took care of us but it did mean that over ...

WORST CRUISE EVER - AND MOST EXPENSIVE

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Viking Orion

I chose Viking because it was the favorite cruise line of the well-traveled (40 cruises) couple I traveled with to Alaska. By day five, the couple said the Viking Orien Alaska trip was their worst cruise in 25 years. Chaotic and stressful does not begin to describe my experience. The night before my first excursion - the Deadliest Catch - I received a letter that Deadliest Catch was ...

Great Ship, Great Service, Amazing Wilderness

We chose this cruise because we wanted to do Alaska and liked what we were hearing about Viking. Focus is on the destination and not a resort experience which is fine with us. Adults only, superb dining, junior suite was plenty large and very comfortable, service was always impeccable. While not having the big theatrical production on board, the entertainment was top notch and a great way to ...

A Different Way to See the Inside Passage

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Viking Orion

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

A very relaxing way to experience the inside passage from Vancouver to Anchorage. We saw lots of wildlife: seals, whales, and otters. It was our first cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was way beyond our expectations with us enjoying everything we tried. The staff: waitstaff, chefs, servers were great. They definitely made the experience worth it. The nightly entertainment was very ...
