Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Horizon

We’ve always wanted to visit Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao and decided to travel by cruising. Carnival had the best prices at the time we wanted to go. George, our Carnival agent took his time with me answering all of my questions. He offered us a perfect stateroom for my needs. All went very smoothly during the entire cruise. The food was awesome and the crews were most helpful. The ...

It had availability for my big family. 20 of us. We even had rooms with connecting balconies. Ship had odd elevators that take some getting used to. Cabin stewards & wait staff was excellent. The spa was great. Had a massage & it was the best I’ve ever had. Now some flaws. The drink package is a good deal if all cabin members drink alcohol. Wife didn’t drink so I had to pay for drinks ...

The good bad and ugly

The best - housekeeping was awesome our guy was outstanding. The good — when you had a complaint it was usually solved quickly. The bad - We had a family interior on the second floor and when we went to play the games in the family center on the 2nd floor. The games did not work and when we ask for the disk to play the games the lady she was just in charge of housekeeping of the room and ...

We are in our mid 40s. We chose this cruise because of the size of the ship and dates available. This was our 7th cruise...4 prior Carnival and 2 prior Royal Caribbean. I would always tell friends and family how much I loved Carnival's food and environment. This is by far the worst cruise we have been on so far. Positives: Embarkation was a smooth process. Staff were exceptional in ...

I like this itinerary cuz I got 3 islands that I was at below and my friend wanted the Cayman Islands. It was smooth sailing, no storms. Food was excellent, service was the best ever. I love this ship. The elevators were a pain in the butt. but everything was amazing. The crew, Cookie the Cruise Director - he was funny and personable all at the same time.I loved our balcony cabin - it was ...

COVID cutbacks are significant!

Food was ok but almost exact same thing EVERY day on Lido. The MDR’s served the same items just a tad more formal for the vast majority of the menu… Quality/temp etc. all sub par but you could eat at Guys burgers or tacos/burritos and both were great. Cabin steward and photographers also terrific. Cruise director made a few announcements and I saw him briefly once - other than that no ...

8-day family cruise, mid-50's couple with 19yr old son. Sailed out of Miami with port stops in Aruba, Curacao, La Romana (DR), and Amber Cove (DR). This was our 10th cruise as a family. We've sailed on Disney, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. This was our 2nd cruise on Carnival. The first Carnival cruise was likely our worst - we weren't sure we would sail Carnival again, but the itinerary and ...

Carnival Horizon Havana Cabana the only way to cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Horizon

We are frequent cruisers so we like to plan cruises that take us to ports we have never visited before. We usually book a balcony. This cruise Carnival offered us an upgrade to a Havana Cabana and boy am I glad we took it! I get motion sickness so I was a little concerned having a room at the back of the ship, but thankfully I didn’t have any issues. I especially loved the fact that I could walk ...

Worst Cruise Ever- Do Not Sail On the Horizon

I have been on several Carnival cruises and enjoyed them, this was my first one after Covid. I feel like the company has changed for the worse since then. I was actually very impressed with embarkation, you drop off your bags go inside the terminal go through security, and everything, it was very quick and we boarded quickly. This is where quick service ends, the entire week there were lines for ...

We choose this cruise because it was available when we had time off during our April break. Dinners were good, and the best night of course was the formal night. They always had a choice for dinner of chicken, salmon, or beef. They offered at least five other main dishes to choose from as well. Our server (Harold) was very nice and accommodated our tablemates who had a child with allergies. The ...
