We did the Danube Waltz last August 2022. This was our first river cruise. We had free airfare, but upgraded to business class to travel from Chicago to Amsterdam. The cruise was much more than I anticipated. The overall experience was by far above expectations. The cabin, food, service and excursions were wonderful. I chose Viking for its quality reputation and the trip from Budapest thru Vienna to Germany. Learned a lot of history about austria in WW2 and the cold war. The concentration camp is a must see. The travel arrangements made by Viking were superior. The only drawback, as first Viking passengers, was we did not book Viking from our hotel at the end of the cruise to the airport and had to arrange our own transport.
