We chose this cruise because of interest in Portugal.
From our arrival in Lisbon to our departure from the ship in Porto, Viking handled everything perfectly. Transfers were on time, Patricia ( our cruise director) was on top of everything.
The hotel in Lisbon was excellent , the transportation team was the best.
Once we were greeted on board the Osfrid by the ship’s crew, we felt we were ...
We chose Portugal’s River of Gold because we enjoyed the ports, people and cuisine of Portugal on ocean cruises. This cruise gave us a chance to explore more of Portugal’s interior at a slower, more relaxed pace. We started in Lisbon with two days of sightseeing excursions with a stay at an excellent hotel. We traveled to Porto to begin the river cruise along the Douro; during the trip we ...
I always wanted to see Portugal.
I was not disappointed. After 2 years post covid I didn't know what to expect . I was pleasantly surprised that it was very well maintained and the crew was awsome.
We we lucky the weather was warm and sunny. The tours that were included was just as awesome as two years ago.
I highly recommend this trip.
The Fatima tour what better than expected ...
I chose this cruise to taste the wines from the Duoro Valley. The presentation given on the first day was a very comprehensive overview of the various wine regions. Very well done.
Our tours started with a bus ride to various towns. This was quite different than most cruises in Europe where we stop in the town itself. The scenery along the way is memorable.
The ship offered a wonderful ...
In September my wife and I took the Viking Osfrid 10-day tour/cruise in Portugal. I’ve been somewhat busy, so this review is a little later than I normally post
Trip summary
• We flew into Lisbon, using Viking air, stayed at Viking’s hotel, the Tivoli, including two trips around Lisbon. GREAT!
• Then we went by bus, with a great stop at Cumbria, to Gaia, just across the river from Porto. ...
Had not been to Portugal. Met at airport in LIsbon and comfortable drive to the hotel. Viking again provides a superior hotel product: The Tivoli on Avenida da Liberdade a 5 star stay, spacious and well decorated lobby and restaurant, excellent room and bathroom. Viking worked with the hotel chef and produced 3 different prix fix menus for Viking guests if we did not want to order from the main ...
Booked this cruise as a fill in while on board the Viking star. Portugal is a gem to visit. Lisbon is a wonderful city. Our cruise director
PATRICIA was absolutely amazing. Her knowledge and energy rubbed off on all the crew and passengers and without her I dare say the cruise would have been more mundane. She was down one tour guide and was doing double duty as cruise director and tour ...
I have loved Portuguese wine (and food) and the Douro literally for decades and this was the opportunity to finally get to be there in person and experience things first hand. The ships that cruise the Douro are of necessity smaller river craft in order to be able to go through the locks on the river. We had 92 passengers on board for this cruise. So, the ratings in the categories below are ...
Three friends and I chose this trip to see Portugal and enjoy the culture and people. We were not disappoined. All shore excursions were wonderful, and we took full advantage of the pre-cruise extra nights in Lisbon.
We asked locals and tour guides for restaurant recommendations and were very pleased with all of them, several of which were fairly close to our Lisbon hotel. Do sit at an outdoor ...
My husband and I enjoyed this cruise so much! The fall leaves were beautiful, and the vineyards were in harvest. The hotel we stayed in was very nice, and we had fun touring in Lisbon. The cruise began and ended in Porto. The ship was very clean, the service was beyond expectations, and the food was good. There was a good selection of wines, and we explored the port wines. We enjoyed all our ...
