Viking won our interest with a great itinerary including Paris, Giverny and Rouen along the Seine. After boarding the Viking Kadlin longship and settling in, we visited several of the highlights of Paris on the first day: Notre Dame of Paris, Champs Elysees, and the Eiffel Tower. We loved the leisurely pace of cruising down the Seine. Our visit to Monet’s home, beautiful gardens and water lily ...
Though there was a good choice of tours, there was too much packed into the day. There was no time to browse. The Normandy day was long and not enough time at the museum if any..which is a shame because it was why we came. There was more time at the English Museum. The guide was very hard to understand. The Giverny tour was very good. The tour of Notre Dame was too short with no time to browse and ...
I have always wanted to go to Paris. I searched different options and always went back to the Viking Paris to Normandy trip because we would see so many things in one vacation. I knew that Viking Cruises had a good reputation and decided to try them. Being new to that area it was attractive go with a trip that did all the planning for us. To insure that I did in fact see Paris, we added a 3 day ...
The itinerary was beyond our expectations. We loved the tours we took, especially Giverny. The tour guides at each stop were so very informative.
The dining service was exceptional. Maitre'd George and the kitchen staff did a wonderful job with avoidance of my food allergens.
A special service at the American Cemetary in Normandy honoring fallen Americans was wonderful. The tour of the ...
Paris and Rouen excursions were great, but this cruise was all about Normandy and the American Cemetery. Viking had a respectful and moving agenda at the cemetery, and I still get choked up telling the tale to friends. Service with Viking is always a key feature, and each member of the staff wants to make the customer happy. I never saw a staff member frown. We had some small transfer issues that ...
We went June 25-July 6, 2018. We wanted that itinerary because of the WWII sites, Napoleon Bontepart’s home , Richard the Lionheart Castle, Paris and the quaint towns along the Siene. Their was a fabulous light /graphic show at 10:30 at night on the cathedral walls in Rouen. The buses were comfortable and the guides were very good. The staff on the Kadin was the best we have ever had and went ...
We chose this trip especially for the Normandy experience. Every port and excursion was fabulous. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable. The day at Normandy was very moving and memorable. Viking arranged for special access and ceremonies just for us! Viking guests were treated royally at every location. Our crew provided top notch service and it was very nice to have the same people every ...
We wanted to see World War II beaches/memorials primarily; also, spend 3 days in Paris prior to cruise. We like the convenience of unpacking once with good food and wine available.
However, we were surprised and somewhat disappointed that we spent as much time on buses to excursions and that itinerary seemed a bit confused, i.e., we went to Monet's Garden one day then the next drove by it ...
We explored Paris for 3 days in the pre-cruise part of the tour (stayed at the Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel, which was very nice & located within walking distance of the Galerie Lafayette & other shopping areas). The VIking guides were excellent - we did tours of Montmartre and other tourist areas of Paris during the 3 days. Viking Kadlin was excellent - the cabin/service and the ...
This was our second Viking river cruise. As expected, the entire experience was wonderful. Embarkation was smooth, the crew very friendly. Shout out to Urska, the hotel manager. She was great, always smiling and willing to assist.
Chef Jozsef and his chefs did a lovely job with the food. Added treat, dinners on the Aquavit terrace while sailing.
Glad to see a wider variety of shore ...
