We chose this cruise initially because we were attracted to the itinerary which included Monet and Van Gogh homes and the Normandy beach Memorials. We chose Avalon because the rooms were spacious and bed faced out on sliding doors instead of balconies limiting inside space. We were so pleasantly surprised! All of the cruise employees spoke English, were very pleasant and helpful and spent their ...
Delicious food, wonderful service, gorgeous boat and well planned trip from Paris to Normandy! A week in heaven!
Each excursion was well
Planned .... met a monk in Monastery, Givenchy to see Monet’s gardens, castle of Lionheart, Normandy beaches and so much more! The meals were eloquent five course meals. Small boat so we made lots of friends. Sunsets on sky deck was the perfect ending ...
My husband, son, daughter-in-law and myself all thought the trip was great. My son and his wife had never taken a river cruise and I wasn't sure they would like it. But they found their own enjoyment and had a ball.
The food was terrific, the rooms, although not large were very nice. The staff, including the captain and the cruise director were exceptional. We joked that every where you looked ...
I chose this cruise because I had great interest in Normandy. Our ship departed from Paris & we had planned on spending 2 days before boarding to explore the city. I am very glad that we did! Paris is a delightful way to start our trip. Embarkation was easy & our stateroom was perfect & our friendly attendant was helpful and kept our cabin neat.
Our meals were thought out & the accompanying ...
I would definitely recommend Avalon Cruise Seine River Cruise! I have always wanted to see the Beaches at Normandy & the American Cemetery, being there on the 4th of July made it even more special. That morning our dining area was decorated for the 4th of July - very thoughtful - the chef even made us a flag cake for dessert that night!
Because of my budget, I chose the least expensive cabin & ...
-We were hoping to discover France's culture and French food, but only discovered Avalon's version.
-Since we joined this Cruise from another Avalon cruise, there was no welcome aboard, only surprise from the staff when we asked for a daily activity sheet.(never did receive one)
-Very nice accommodations, loved the large sliding window.
-Loved the intimate lite meal options , in ...
I picked an early (cheaper) date, but late enough to hopefully have good weather. Hit a home run. The extra day pre-cruise hotel was in a great location. All transfers went smoothly. The staff on the cruise was very friendly and competent. The food and whole dining experience was outstanding. Excellent selection and quality. The excursions were varied and had well-informed guides. We were docked ...
Being first timers overseas we missed a few bases. Paris arrival should have been a few days before our departure on the Tapestry II, but that's our fault.. Leaving the states late in the day, our flights and arrival were uneventful and Avalon rep was waiting with a huge smile upon landing in Paris. (Note: for those with walking difficulty, extremely important for you to make arrangements for ...
Friends highly recommended Avalon Waterways.
We arrived in Paris and were brought directly to our ship. After checking in we were able to walk to the Eiffel Tower for a few photos.
The ship was very nice. Our cabin was spacious and clean. I thought the food was good. We ate the majority of our lunches and dinners on the panoramic deck. Fellow travelers were pleasant and welcoming. ...
We loved this cruise and it’s excursions but the pace was so grueling. If we’ve never been to an area we want to do the excursions but it was exhausting. It would be nice to have a couple of days built in where we don’t feel like we have to go go go. Just cruise and relax. With that in mind you’d need to add something to do that makes staying on board worth while.
The food was excellent, Our ...
