My partner and I had cruised with Cunard once before in the Med. This was a very short cruise for us (2 nights - Adelaide to Melbourne) but the purpose was to give our elderly parents (76, 77, 87 and 89) a taste of the Cunard experience. We were a party of 6.
Embarkation in Adelaide was the worst I had experienced in 6 cruises on different lines. As we had booked late , we had 2 A1 Club Balcony ...
We were on the 21-day crossing of the Pacific from San Francisco to Sydney. We have been on 32 cruises on various lines and have sailed with Cunard many times before. We chose this crossing as a way to get us to our 2-month adventure in Australia.
We were very happy with the transportation, but not too thrilled with the Queen Victoria nor the cruise ship features of this crossing. While we ...
The cabin D7017 is small and poorly appointed with a small dressing table, minimum storage facilities, particularly if a long voyage.
The bathroom small but manageable however the shower cubicle is pokey!
Television channels are extremely limited and there is no interactive channel.
Frankly it looked rather 'tired'.
Room service is available but our experience has been that nothing ...
Cunard oozes tradition at every turn; and the 'best of British' but is it suitable for families and kids ?
Well we just arrived in Melbourne after a 6 night cruise from Fremantle with a 7 year old boy for my mother's 80th birthday present. We probably would not normally have chosen Cunard with a child but my mother had a lifetime dream which we wanted to fulfill of traveling aboard the QEII so ...
We cruised recently on the Queen Mary 2 from Dubai to Hong Kong
Queen Mary 2 is a transatlantic ocean liner. She is the largest ocean liner ever built, having served as the flagship of the Cunard Line since succeeding the Queen Elizabeth 2 in 2004. As of 2019, Queen Mary 2 is the only passenger ship operating as an ocean liner.
A key point is that the Queen Mary as a liner travels the ...
Excellent for special diets ie lactose free gluten free etc
Good standard of food overall
No where to eat outside. Very disappointing
Kings court food area feels like motorway service station
No basketball
Main Sunbathing decks obscured by lifeboats
Entertainment in the main theatre generally good
Embarkation procedure in Dubai was a nightmare. Disorganised. Took 7 ...
Ship was top notch but passenger atmosphere was lacking. Cruise dedicated to older seniors and ship was more like a retirement village with the entertainment to suit this demographic. Definitely not suited to a single traveler even though I am older. Things did improve when Australians embarked in Fremantle. I did not eat at the Brittanica Restaurant because I prefer to eat when I feel like it and ...
Chose this cruise as it meant i did not have to fly home after visiting South Africa. Embarkation was very good in Capetown, Cabin seemed a bit smaller than other lines (balcony). Very impressed with all the seating areas that were available and they were not closed for half the day.for art auctions. Did expect a bigger menu range at the dining room, and did find the gravy on what seemed all ...
We went on the worldwide cruise with Cunard in Jan 2019 and have vowed never to cruise with this company again. The ship was tatty and the furnishing were mediocre. Air con was cold throughout the ship and you could not turn this off in your stateroom. It would have been nice to have been able to open our balcony door but if we did this the air con went into ‘overdrive’ and dripped. I am sure ...
The boarding experience was delayed as the ship was not berthed at its regular dock as it was undergoing maintenance. We arrived 2 hours earlier than requested on the ticket so weren’t surprised about inevitable delays. We were on board by 1pm after arriving at 11am but were asked not to arrive until 2pm so all in all very successful. Every cruise I have been on since 1992 I have encountered ...
