This was for us a "taster" cruise to see if we liked the whole concept of a cruise break/holiday - having become disillusioned with airports and the delays and waiting times. The experience could not have been smoother and more relaxing. Having stayed at a quayside hotel overnight, we waited there for our designated boarding time. The hotel concierge drove us over and twenty minutes later we had ...
My friend and I booked this cruise as she wanted to go the Christmas market in Bruges, Cunards dates Friday to Monday worked best for us and I live in Dorset so Southampton is an ideal port for me and a free day at sea to make use of the onboard facilities. We got a great price online and parking cost was reasonable. Car drop off with CPS and check-in were so easy and fast I was anxious as this ...
We chose this cruise as an alternative way to get from the States to England. I am glad we did. Our cabin (sheltered balcony) was quite nice and more than adequate for a winter crossing of the North Atlantic. A few minor details, such as stained carpet and floor of the shower, kept the cabin from achieving an excellent rating.
The food in all venues was excellent as was the dinner service in ...
We saw this deal last August for three nights in New York and return by QM2. We had never been to this city before and always thought that we would try one of the "Queen's" at sometime so the two came together nicely.
Neither disappointed but this is Cruise Critic so lets confine ourselves to the ship. We have been on most of the other lines, Princess, Celebrity etc, but this is undoubtably ...
Response from MerylP, Specialist, Public Relations at Cunard North America
Dear South44,
We appreciate you taking the time for reviewing your experience on Queen Mary 2. On behalf of Cunard, are delighted that you enjoyed the experience onboard. We take great pride...
Friends had fortunate experiences and we were looking to see if Cunard could be a standard way of traveling from the US to Europe, South Africa, Australia, and through the Panama Canal. The answer was a definite NO! we now don't even want Cunard literature through the internet or by mail.
The basic aspects of the cruise consisting of stateroom, entertainment, dining, library, and their ...
t is not often that one can say that there is an experience that is of the highest quality but at an affordable price. However, the Cunard's Queen Mary 2 is such an example and exceeds expectations in all areas. We have just returned from New York on the trans-Atlantic voyage and cannot speak highly enough of the whole voyage from embarkation (quick and smooth) to disembarkation (ordered and ...
Beautiful ship-Wonderful to have Roger/Jim McGuinn on board for some great sit downs!!!!(Founder of the Byrds) But the nightly entertainment leave a lot to be desired. Same people night after night but in a new costume!! Very boring!! The food was fine, lots of lamb, which I love!! Had late sitting (8:30) which I love. Portions were rather skimpy, so we just asked for more!! Not a problem. The ...
We chose the QM2 Caribbean cruise because of the convenience to the port but also from our past experience on this ship two years ago on a cruise to New England & Canada.
This ship is so beautiful and the service is outstanding. Recently refurbished `and for our cruise all beautifully decorated for the Holidays. Embarkation & disembarkation went well. ON disembarkation the luggage hall is a ...
The Queen Mary 2 was all I expected it to be. The ship was clean, the crew friendly, the evening activities were plentiful as well as were the daytime activities.
Our cabin was kept spotless by our room steward Dennis. It was 5106, mid-ships with a balcony.
My wife and I had the late dining sitting which was a little difficult if you wanted to see the shows. We did attend a few shows but ...
As a "oldster" from the Northeast, which means that I am at least a bit "old fashioned" in my likes/dislikes, I enjoy Cunard with its carefully crafted persona of British mid twenties elegance and style - think Downton Abbey of past PBS fame - and have sailed with them frequently over the years.
Queen Mary 2 has recently had an extensive "makeover", which Cunard calls a "Remastering", with some ...
