Christmas in the Emirates on the Costa NeoRiviera

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Costa neoRiviera

Firstly, my first time flying with Emirates, but guaranteed it won’t be my last. I got a requested upgrade to fly out Business Class at what looked to be a heavily discounted price. What an experience- it’s the first time I’ve ever been on a plane, had a holiday and could not wait to do the return flight! The added bonus was that Business Class also entitled me to a free chauffeur driven car from ...

First time cruiser... sadly very disappointed

First-time cruiser… Firstly – some positives. Embarkation at Barcelona was extremely efficient. Ship was lovely. Inside single cabin on deck nine was very high standard. Excellent service in the cabin and restaurant. Theatre shows every night, although for me I didn’t think a high standard (I go to the theatre at home a lot!). The cruise news included only a very few activities. No ...

This is the third time Im writting a review here on Cruisecritic, hopefully this time the editor will finally post it. This is our 14th cruise(have done Royal Caribben, Norwegian, Carnival and Princess) and our 4th with Costa (did the Mediteranea twice before and the Concordia once) The Good: The shows were good, but short. The live music was good, but also short in duration (1 hr and then dj ...

Less than hoped for

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

Beautiful ship, nice inside cabin in great location. Live in Florida so drove down. The ports of call were some we hadn't been before. Very little information is provided to passengers. When you dock you have to go outside cabin to find out when you get off. Two ports were tender ports and it was a zoo getting off. Very poor system was used. By the way, they did tell you about tendering until the ...

WORST DEC. 2014 COSTA CRUISE IN 25 COSTA SAILINGS

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

Costa is having problems that worsen each year. Many blame Carnival since Costa became part of the Carnival Corp.; others insist Costa has tightened purse strings because of the tragic loss of Costa Concordia. We have cruised on 25 Costa sailings, mainly for their dance venues & Italian themed nights (that no longer exist as they once were). We have cruised most other major lines so do have a ...

My first cruise ever, but hopefully not my last.

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Costa Serena

As a 70 year old grandfather, I flew Emirates alone from Birmingham on the overnight flight to Dubai. Emirates have great food and a generous baggage allowance and I was well within the 30kg limit, even including all of the Christmas presents which I was taking. Flying overnight and the 4 hour time difference meant I wouldn't require a hotel. The flight route, which you can reassuringly monitor on ...

Fabulous Favolosa

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Favolosa

Just returned from our mediteranean cruise ( November 2014) The Costa Favolosa lived up to our expectations with high standards of service and cleanliness. The buffet service for breakfast and lunch is busy, obviously, but the restaurant is spread over such a large area, with many stations for different food types, that if you found a table first and then went seperately for your choice of food, ...

High Expectations Unfulfilled

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Diadema

I did start with high expectations but first view of the ship (externally) in Savona revealed it to be quite 'Normal' and not especially stylish. In particular that single vertical parallel sided funnel looks dated. Inside it is quite glitzy and glamorous as well as being spotlessly clean. Our cabin deck 6 inside, was a fair size, bigger than many and very well fitted out. We never met our cabin ...

Cutbacks have put us off

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Serena

Have just returned from 7 day cruise around the med on Costa Serena. How let down I was. This was our third cruise with Costa and will now be our last. How things have changed in 7 months has been a real turning point. We took the All Inclusive drinks package and found out that this was the only way you could get a cup of tea in the evening as they have now stopped the self service in the buffet ...

Fascinosa not quite a Farse-inosa

Review for a Greece Cruise on Costa Fascinosa

We decided to fly to Venice a day before our flight because we had heard that Marco Polo airport is sometimes fogged in and we did not want to miss embarkation of the Costa Fascinosa. The following day we did the usual trips around the canals on the Vaporettos or water taxis before heading to the cruise port with our cases to check in. Embarkation It had been foggy that morning but was clearing ...
